mandalore the no-populationable

AU night time i have not seen a single person on a planet i have quested on for the past 6 levels. There is NEVER more than 2 people on a planet at any time and a max of 14-20 on the fleet.

Transfers need to happen NOW!!!! I'm a hard working husband and father, i get limited time to play, i can't re-level, but i can't play an MMO that is really a SMO (single man online)

Quit or re-roll.

tried the latter, they are taking too long so i've quit. I'm not playing through anymore storylines to 50... 4 is enough waiting for thier lazy asses to fix this garbage.

the more people who do quit the less content you will get on the full pop. servers, so you guys should really be supporting us ghostland players if you want the game to be around in a years time :)

So I am in a quandry, I have a lvl 14 Legacy on an extremly low pop server, maybe 30 ppl on fleet at peak. Everyone seems to be re-rolling servers yet I am hesitant, because it has taken me since release to get where I am and I do not have a ton of time to just pour into re-rolling EVERYTHING. I am curious what others think, if hanging on until server transfers are available would be a good idea? What I have read if you transfer your legacy should go with you so why start another legacy to then later have it eclypsed by one that I would have lvl'd even more if I stayed on the low pop server. Some people are saying that transfers might happen as early as the end of the month, if so that would be great but i dont think I could handle another 2-3 months of playing a game by myself when I wanted an MMO and the community that comes with it.

Re-roll server OR wait for Transfers???

It is true that not everyone is playing at the same time still, I think population is an issue.

On my server (Ludo kressh) we have like 30-40 ppl on the fleet in the evenings at around 8-10 CET and after that it starts declining. I wouldn't call this a healthy population.

The AH is dead as well. However, it seems that there is always a new wave of ppl coing to this server because you can see fresh lvl50s but for some reason they disappear quite quickly. When you have a nice group for HMs or ops thats only for a week or two and then most of the squad wont log in anymore.

An MMO should be about socialising with other players but you usually end up seeing the same faces in all the WZs and on Ilum and on the Fleet and that gets boring pretty fast. Its liek living in a small village. Everybody knows everyone. That shouldnt be the case in an MMO.

Well said. They need to at least change the General Chat to encompass the entire server, not just one instance. This game feels like a ghost town most of the time. I pay to play in a MMO, not a single player console game.

http://beefjack.com/news/bioware-to-introduce-more-robust-swtor-server-transfer-system/

Star Wars: The Old Republic has already surpassed 1.7 million players, and the servers are getting a bit crowded. SWTOR players have been asking for a way to transfer characters between servers and BioWare is listening. A BioWare representative at PAX East has confirmed that BioWare is currently working on a character transfer system that will facilitate switching servers.

Hahaha!

If there were any more spin on that, the article would go inter-dimensional.

We already knew that a server transfer system was "in the works" & would be prioritised for the Ocean-Pacific players first sometime after 1.2 so nothing new there, but really "crowded" only a few & mostly due to rerollers fed up of waiting is causing it.

Quite galling & insulting to those poor players stuck on barely populated servers.

You basically pay play with yourself. Over the last month Kinrath Spider has nose dived 12pm on a Saturday and 3 people on ilum. This game is a great RPG and crappy MMO. The story in this game is one of the best i played in along time.

Transfers don't seem like an option only good way to go is merge servers to bring populations to an expect-able limit then later on they can bring in transfers to different servers. I have 3 lvl 50's I've done FP's on my first toon only and not all of them cause it was next to impossible to find a group when people where on and now 30 people in fleet 8pm is a joke.

mine and my wife's subs will not renew after April 30th unless they fix this major problem. Shame on me for buying two collectors editions. I was robbed and Bio-ware/EA is not living up to what was promised..

Just wana say thanks for *** ****** the community and not even giving us any kiss afterwards..... Good Show...

As a fellow Kinrath player (one of the 40), I totally agree with the statement "this is an amazing RPG, but a lousy MMO".

My experiences are the same as his ^^^^

I have my main and a couple of alts on Grand Master Zym which can be empty at times the most people I have ever seen at one time in past weeks is 70 players in Imperial Fleet and never more than 20 players on most planets. So, for the most part I just don't do Flashpoints or heroic quests. Back when I bought the game a couple weeks after release I could always find a group for heroics and flashpoints, please implement character transfer or merge some of the dead servers together. I would say if they ever do character transfers they should do this....

Make the character transfer cost 2.5 million in game credits.

Why you ask??

because it will weed out the casual players that don;t care about fp's wz ects, and allow the serious gamers to transfer their characters to a server so they can complete their missions ect with a high pop server..

Included in this would be a Character transfer merchant most likely in the fleets, that you would go to . you first would pay your credits and then you would click on a door to a ship.Next you would select the port (server) in which you would like to deploy to. It would include the faction % information , as well as fp occurance info , and other pertinant info. After you click on the door, that is when your character transfer would begin..

granted it takes time for the servers to complete a character transfer so you would have to be patient.. As far as how many credits it would cost to transfer is debatable , i just threw out a generic number. And legacy names and info would have to be worked out as well.. just an idea

Yeah we really need them to give us a ballpark on this. If they're not going to offer transfers in the next month, then it might make sense to start over for some players.

Forget free transfers. Will never happen (new regions excluded). Beg for a paid transfer or just quit.

And why will it not happen? I for one will shelve this game forever if they are not free. You can have fun on your full servers which will dwindle to nothing if you want to have that attitude.

I can relate to you. I have a 50 shadow and a 45 commando. I really am not interested in rerolling. I invested time into this game. It should be enjoyable.

Our guild rerolled about 6 weeks ago now, and have all caught up to where we were on our other 50's. We've raided the content we had already cleared and we're much happier on the new server.

Rerolling isn't all that hard, and in the long run, makes your gaming much more enjoyable when you're on a better server.

Not everyone can level to 50 and get geared in 6 weeks. A lot of people in my guild can only play a couple hours a day. That's why they need to give us a ballpark for transfers, so we can evaluate based on our own personal play schedule whether it makes sense to reroll or just wait.

DH: Is there any discussion of merging servers or adding incentives to move players to low pop servers?

JO: No, we’re not going to. Merging servers is not something we are looking at. We have a very healthy game right now, so that is not something we are looking at in the near future. We're always going to look at ways to make sure a server is healthy. There are a whole bunch of different ways you can do that. We're discussing them. We want to make sure players feel like there are enough players on their server to play with.

They are in denial. They refuse to merge servers, but you think they'll let you leave a low pop server for free, making it even lower in pop? lol

world of warcraft have PAID character transfers, hell, even paid character name changes- yet that game had been going great for years. I'm more then happy to pay for a change to a character that i put time into.

This is a consolidated post from 2 seperate accounts that i used to make my own thread, that was closed due to this thread already being here. So excuse the parts where it says i switched accounts to show that i have 2 accounts because im just copying all my material from my original posts here off one account rather than both of my accounts.

I know this has been asked a thousand times before, I even have asked before. I tried using search to find more articles on this but didnt find much.

What I want to know is are we ever going to get an official answer from a DEV or anyone that works for SWTOR on whether this will ever happen and when? This is a big issue to me, because I have lvled 2 characters to 50 and then realized that my server was a west coast server(im on the east coast) and also i joined a server that was just a regular server(may not be correct terminology) when i really wnated to be part of a RP/PVP server, which when the game started i was so excited to get started I didnt take the time to look into all this. I realize this is my fault but I think we desere the chance to fix our istakes especially if we pay for it. I know i dont care, and im pretty sure most everyone else would agree, whether I have to pay for this feature. We just want the option.

This is not going to radically change or have a huge effect on the game, especially if your charging money for people to do it. I am fixed and nestled into a server I love now and would like to have the oppurtunity to fix my mistake I made, like many others, when starting the game by choosing the wrong type of server.

And id also like to hear a response from someone who works for SWTOR on this issue, it is gaining more and more support and is honestly really aggravating to at least not hae an snwer on plans for this. I dont care what changes would have to be made to your character, besides lvl loss, in order for a server change. I just want to have all my characters that i spent hundreds of hours working on together, especially with the new legacy family system coming tomorrow.

If i can get an reasonable non automated response on this issue I would be the happiest cat in the world. And if i dont get a response, which seems to be the case regardign this issue do any community members have any ideas on how I or we as a community can reach out to DEVs to get out message out there about how important this is to us. We are paying customers and I think we at least deserve a response or a new response on whats being done about this if anything at all. Only reason i say new response is because i somewhat remember somewhere in the bck of my brain a DEV say they were considering this or something along those lines but ive heard nothing more than that since then.

Please im begging workers/DEVs of SWTOR to respond to us customers regarding this issue. let me reitterate that I am BEGGING you, this has huge meaning to me and alot of others in the community and we just want some feedback. Thank you(if you do respond) if you dont respond you can count that I will continue to bring this issue up more and more frequently or do whatever it takes to to get an answer.

Sincerely,

My 3 lvl 50 characters

Dodo of the namida server

Jetti'kad of Jung ma (my home server now)

Oppress of Jung ma ( but on a different account, which id liek to be able to swithc to one account because for some reason i thought it would be smart to have 2 accounts so i could use 2 computers to help lvl alt characters using 2 computers but it didnt really work that well for me)

And all my other alts i have on these accounts that I am stuck doing nothing with because i dont know whether there is a point to making because i have 2 accounts and 3 lvl 50s spread out all across the galaxy.

Just to show im not lying on my mistake on making 2 accounts here is my other account.

We just want a response, and i dont care if it were $40 dollars to have a server change, eentually id save my money up to be able to get all my characters together and part of one family.

If anything DEVs think of the money to be made here, that could be used to develop new things for the game or for whateer, i dont care. I just want all my characters to be together, especially with this new family system, it would make everything about this game feel complete to me.

I love this game and there isnt rellyy anything i can say that i would change thats as important as this becuse I love this game and want to continue to loving it but its becoming more and more frustrating to have no asnwers and have these characters spread out like this, and once more ill say I know this is my fault for this happening but im willing to pay or do whatever i can to fix it. Even if that means calling SWTOR customer service everday to ask for a response or whatever else I can come up with.

This is not meant to be offensive in anyway as well I am just very passionate about this getting done, and again like I said I love SWTOR more than any other MMO ive played and want my experieince to be the best it can be.

Id also like to state that cross account server transfer i can understand may be a problem, for one it probably is more difficult to do and two it might seem like yall would be losing moeny because you would be losing an account, even though you would be makin money from charging the service( You could charge more for croos account server transfers). Which i can understand and wouldnt even mind if that was said because I really would like to have 2 sets of families anyways. I have this great idea ( to me at least) for my character Oppress with the new family legacy of making a whole RP family line based off the darth Maul and his brother Oppress, based off the clone war tv show. And want to have an all zabrak family, maybe a human mixed in somewhere but thats not important really regarding my questions, but just wanted to say if cross account sever transfer were not ever available it wouldnt ruin me id just continue to run 2 accounts in order to do this because I love this game and where it is headed.

After dealing with blizzard for about 7years in wow I can tell you being 97% sure that server transfers will be mid May for The general population and they will NOT be free. I am 99% sure on that part. Right before Summer your average player tend to have more funds. Summer and Xmas are an MMOs best time to market new items. They know if they go with mid may they will make the most profit. As with any business decision it's all about the marketing. So mid may. Maybe just a tad sooner. Edited by LordVilos
