  1. At the end of my 6 month sub, goodbye SWTOR. I don't even think I'll be coming back if it goes to F2P unless they implement some really cool features.
  2. For me, the "Single player" comment comes from the lack of social areas, social classes and social items/abilities. There are no non combat toons (chefs, dancer, designer, whatever). These non combat toons typically hang out in the same spots, and those spots turn into cool hang out areas for socializing. Where do we socilize in SWTOR? The fleet? I guess so, but there is nothing really cool, social or unique about it. I've never played WoW. So I cant compare SWTOR to WoW at all. I did play SWG on and off for years, and that game had some amazing features, but it was also run by people who clearly had no idea how to run what they were in charge of. I do agree that coming into SWTOR hoping it was SWG2 was a mistake, because that is setting the bar pretty high. I cant think of anything in SWTOR that is unique or worth remembering compared to other titles. I had my 1st "oh no" moment in this game last summer while watching a .dev team video about the space side of the game. A tube shooter? I immediately knew they were cutting corners. Half of SW is space, why would you put such a weak mini game in for such an important aspect? Not to mention that space has been completly left alone really since launch. Other things that irk me are the awful engine (Ilum slide show), the fact that Ilum was removed with no replacement, very slow server transfer release (they were needed in early FEB), no meaningful dev interaction, poor support, poor bug fixing, laughable patch testing before live and the list goes on. Man, I wish I was a bug on the wall for the senior staff at BW for some of the meetings they have there. I would love to know what goes on at the office.
  3. I quit SWTOR when the server transfers happened. Not because of the transfers, but because I was ran into the ground with this title. I have come back to the forums recently, to see if the game has some positive vibes on it, and it doesn’t look that way. I can’t believe how bad this game bombed. To be honest, I was expecting SWG2. I wanted a SWG that worked, and was actively supported by the dev team. Instead, we have SWTOR, an average game that was hyped to be the second coming. After 5 months of playing, 2 60’s and about 25 million credits earned via crafting, I was done. No one to sell things to after 1.2 broke the economy/GTN, the same old WZ’s over and over, and very little open world PVP to be found. The Dev team is always silent and always politically correct. Content is slow, and new patches would frequently break all sorts of things. The PTS was completely underutilized. I used to be a very positive member of my community on the Imperial side of Ven Zallow. Free implants, stims and medpacs. I would also run weekly datacron hunts. No one really wanted the free items, and very little people wanted to tag along for the social datacron hunts. This game has very little MMO feel to it. It’s a single player title, with little dev support that fails to evolve. What a shame. We could be looking at over a decade for another SW MMO to come out. That’s a long time for people craving a SW MMO that’s worth bragging to your friends about. I have a 6 month sub. I suspect that this game will see another significant drop in activity when the 6 month subs die out. I came from a 150+ toon guild with about 75 unique players. I think about 5 out of those 75 are still playing. It’s no wonder why, though. This game has reeked of significant management infighting for a while, and the player base and the paying customer are the ones who got burned in the long run. Mega Bummer.
  4. out of a 75+ unique toon guild, there are about 5 people who I'm aware of that still play this game. What a hot mess. 1.3? oh boy. When the 6 month subs expire in August, I think this game could be in more trouble. All I can say is: "What happened to this game in the development phase?"
  5. lack of dev communication has been a problem since the start. often times we get more info from twitter or 3rd party interviews than we do from devs on swtor.com.
  6. I think thats pretty much correct. I said i was playing devils advocate!
  7. Ilum.... man what happened with that place? I would hope that 1.4 would either bring back an optimized and more fun Ilum, or have a replacement for it to encourage open world PVP elsewhere.
  8. I'll play devils advocate: It sounds like the MMO industry is no longer sustainable then. I think the business model needs to be changed, in order to meet the demands of an evolving gaming world.
  9. Thanks. His attitude has been common since day one of the game. The attitude boils down to "I don't care what anyone else says, go away if you have an opinion not in line with mine." It's a interesting point of view, since its selfish and self destructive at the same time. The only people that players should be wishing away are the people exploiting, hacking and being massive trolls to the community, not people who have legit concerns, opinions, fears or gripes about a game. I used to get a big kick out of his type of comments when I was giving away free implants, medpacks and buffs to people on my server prior to server transfers. Yeah! I'm such a HUGE NEGATIVE DRAIN! Anyway, like I said, the game has TONS of potential, for instance, think of space, which could be an entire full sized game on its own if implemented correctly. That realm, if were honest, hasn't even been touched yet. When we get down to brass tacks, the MMO market has changed. WoW is WoW, and for any other MMO, if it wants to be worth remembering is going to need to be above and beyond what most imagined. That means fresh content, innovative ideas and killer game play. Do we have any of those right now? I don't think so. Is it to late to add them? No, but the clock is ticking, and like i said, the 6 month subs will be the next major wave of unsubs to wash across this game. Sub retention has to be #1 right now. BW has already polled us unsubs about what we didnt like, and a lot of us continue to provide feedback on the forums (and the fanbois break out like drones blindly defending whoever).
  10. That's not what you told me in game. Please don't tell me you changed your mind! Anyway, the last thing this game needs is more people leaving. The game still has tons of potential, but things need to be done correctly, and relatively fast if a large player base is going to be retained.
  11. 1.4 needs to release before the 6 month subs end, or there will be another drop in subs. If 1.4 comes out prior to that, and is decent I'll renew. If not, well, who knows if/when I'll come back. Oh well.
  12. I've ignored Legacy as much as I can. Talk about a dud.
  13. The lack of honest and candid communication is one of the major problems with this title. What are we up to today? 1 post from the entire BW staff? Hellooooo? Does anyone want to answer the questions, or comment on the concerns, or share cool ideas with us? It's not fun, interesting or cool when most of the communication is canned and run through a PR machine 3 times before being released to the public. Come on BW, talk to us!
  14. Legacy is a gimmick. 100% letdown.
