  1. If EverQuest can go 64-bit pretty much any MMO can, the sticking point is not technical, it is purely financial - there's a cost involved to execute that transition. It's not at all about "can it be done" it's 100% about "willing to invest in making it happen". A lot of DX9 bugs & glitches are happening in 32 bit games that have been kept running & in development simply through "out of memory" errors, at some point going 64-bit is a cheaper way to fix a bunch of problems than addressing them all individually.
  2. Because with Nightmare mode TFB they will introduce a further tier of gear, NMM S&V will include more of that gear. The plan is that the very top tier cannot be reverse engineered, when a new tier is introduced the old one is made Reverse Engineerable.
  3. Simply because the collections system is designed purely with cartel-market items in mind. Your old white crystal was purchased with credits, the cartel ones were purchased with cartel coins - i.e. real cash (by the original purchaser anyway even if put on gtn later). Not rocket-science is it?
  4. This most commonly happens because of another issue, that logging out with the quickbar unlocked will show a locked bar the next log in despite it being unlocked. I have however seen it happen that I logged out with a locked bar yet logged in with that unlocked but shows as locked too. I have also had this bug with the bar being locked & buttons on the quickbar still being moveable, but it's rare, often I've accidentally clicked unlock & then somehow "copy" a button to another slot, it's copy sitting on the cursor momentarily before being deposited over the other button. Personally as a "clicker" I would love the option to move the quickbar lock & the ui select OFF the quickbar & place it somewhere else - perhaps that functionality could be added to the ui editor at some point.
  5. I could really get behind this idea for part of a "Veteran Rewards Program".
  6. Not gonna wait to see what 2.2 brings? it will be the 1st content patch after RotHC (8-weekly cadence) 2.1 is just a cartel update & the 2 teams working on them are not the same guys. I think you're jumping the gun a little early.
  7. Best to be sure and use comps with +2 (or at worst +1) to Underworld Trading and only use the 2 most costly missions (3240 / 3725) as the others will not return Beryllius even on a crit. Similar system in place for other mat returns of tier 9
  8. My guild did this event tonight & the issue we had is related to the Snipers/Turrets not depopping when the boss dies. This was a problem because: 1. Snipers still had shield this meant a lot of time spent dpsing them down - Suggest that if they are not set to depop on boss death that they at the very least lose their shielding. 2. Turrets became enraged due to length of time it took to kill snipers - if not depopped after boss death then at least increase their enrage timer. 3. These problems made it awkward to loot the boss, we got around it by having our leader loot all the stuff, then we had to loot comms with 1 player at a time only in the instance or the moment you landed from the speeder you were instantly killed as the enraged turrets aggroed as soon as you landed.
  9. I know there are gonna be people unhappy for cosmetic things to be going through the cartel market but I for one am perfectly happy for a large portion of customisation to go through the cartel market, after all that is what the cartel market is for & I'd WAY prefer that to having "pay to win" through the cartel market, after all something has to go through it to generate income. The costs are where careful planning needs to be, inexpensive would encourage more use & over the long term generate a lot more income than big costs ppl rarely use. Perhaps there will be a balance struck, major things like species change (Cathar at 600cc is very reasonable as only a month stipend of cc coins if you had a security key too) minor things for credits - hairstyles, facial changes. I'd like it if the armor colour changes required a Armormech/Synthweaving crafted item to at least create a "consumables" market in addition to augments/kits but no biggie if they don't. Maybe Armstech could get a similar consumable to allow weapon colour changing.
  10. I recall reading that there was an "upper limit" on how many crafting schematics could be held per character which probably goes someway to explaining why not all appearances can be reverse engineered, that & the cartel-market presently has room to use some of those looks.
  11. Lack of reading skills run rife in swtor, they read chat & ignore everything else on purpose. Got it clearing to a resource node I wanted to use, bonus.
  12. Gurus? I'd prefer engineers because I honestly think they were too busy meditating to work on the crewskills effectively, a lot of glaring holes in the 400+ system & in my opinion a huge missed opportunity to put right some of the mess from pre 2.0, overall very disappointed at the costs, material volumes required & material volumes returned-from-missions. The "useless" materials just add icing to the sloppy mess of 2.0 crafting
  13. It's threads like this that affirm my belief in the power of Necromancy!

I believe so, and I will make a juhani, and even have a story about her coming up when that happens, which might involve my trooper. No, Cathar are not tied to 2.0 or to the RotHC expansion, they will arrive in the Cartel Market "when they are ready".
  15. I'll most likely level up my Assassin Tank first of all, very quickly followed by my Operative Healer & my Marauder in order to cover guild operation roles, once those 3 are done I'll return to levelling my alts alternating between my lowbies to 50 & my current 50's to 55, this should ease levelling up burn out.
  16. It's a game with no overt sexually explicit scenes shown, only implied. I have let my teen daughter play the game & am generally more concerned over violence in games than sexuality, whether straight or homosexual in nature, don't really understand the prejudice against SGR romances, its not reality, if your kid is gay they'll be gay regardless of what games they play, I was a fan of many camp comedians over the years, Frankie Howard, John Inman, Larry Grayson, Julian Clarey, Graham Norton, Kenneth Williams, Charles Hautry etc didn't "turn" me gay, nor anyone else, it isn't a choice you are what you are.
  17. I am pretty sure that it was already revealed that Makeb could hold a resource that would be able to tip the balance of power in favour of whoever controls it, some mineral or other that has unique properties (echoes of Ilum's crystals there I think). The Hutts want it for its monetary value with which they could march across the galaxy simply buying up planets with the wealth they would gain, probably by selling said resource to both the Imps & Repubs & letting them decimate each other as the Hutts grow in stature & power, eventually giving them the capacity to crush both the Empire & Republic (or assimilate them) & assume galactic control economically. Looking forward to the expansion a lot myself, hope it has a few surprises up its sleeves as so far it does seem to echo a few too many previously explored story-tropes.
  18. I recall reading somewhere on the forums that what the developers would "like to do" is set up the loot system so that "Round-Robin" automatically only lets you "Need" on items you could actually equip on your advanced class, and then for anything else you'd be forced to greed or pass. No loot system, however sophisticated, will ever eradicate selfish players or ninja-looting, that is the unavoidable truth, we all just have to develop a sense of player-etiquette that most can agree is fair, & just expect the occasional a**hole.
  19. No info on how often the event will be repeated, but my understanding is that the vendors will be permanently available.
  20. I would like to request the ability to choose whether your characters can be bound to one over-arching legacy across all servers. I think the Legacy system is fantastic but if I chose to say, go explore PvP servers then I would start there without any of the lovely Legacy perks I had already earned on my primary PvE server. I feel that the current iteration does tie you to a specific server & works against exploring the other server types & that the option (an option as there may be those that do not wish to have just 1 sole Legacy across their characters on all servers) to have your Legacy available to any character that you create regardless of server would encourage trying out the other server types, even if just for 1 character & enrich the community as a whole.
  21. I would love to have a 64-bit client.
  22. Simple reply is that nobody is forcing you to do this content if you don't enjoy it. Adding content-types is part of the essential "fleshing out" of a persistent online game. I expect further things to be a form of "alternate advancement" much like the reputation system introduced with the Gree event. "Stuff to do" such as side-games, Pazaak, Sabaac, Swoop-racing, Achievements system (there already is one in place but expect further development of it at some point). Casino gambling on Nar Shadaa (for in game currency). Possible "Guild ships". A rep system is just another feature, some will like it, some will try to max it out as fast as it is possible to do so, some will ignore it, just like some players love Operations content & some can't stand it, some pvp, some hate pvp etc etc. My personal take on it is that as reputation systems go this is by far the least onerous one that I have personally experienced & I thought that it was rather hamstrung by it's limited scope of content variety, but that what IS there is actually polished & very well executed, a good starter but far from a fully realised iteration. Did I find it fun though? Yes I did, just too short lived.
  23. Are you mixing acronyms? XP is a general gaming short-hand for "eXPerience" Perhaps you meant HP "Hit Points" And frankly while it's quite feasible that well-played characters with 17500hp could be carried through the Xenoanalyst II Operation a full Operation team of such players would be woefully inadequate. But regardless, it is up to the organisers or the players in the team themselves what gear requirements they set, if they don't feel like carrying an under-geared player along they don't have to, You are welcome to challenge my assertions by forming a full Operation group of only Tionese geared players & beating the event with them.
  24. I'd be perfectly happy with a lack of miscommunication. Something seems borked as far as times though.
