Why people rush though flashpoints ?

If you were any good, you'd play speed chess.

But that's the point, I'm not seasoned yet. Sure I have past MMO experience, but it's my first run through this game. So, no, I don't want to chain pull.

I am really enjoying my character story and my slow pace levelling.

Then I went for my first flashpoint. I was very anxious to made one because I heard many positive things about them.

I teamed up with two guys, and...they were yelling at me "SPACE BAAAAR" all the time to skip all the cutscenes.

As result I couldn´t see any story behind.

My mood dropped after that. This wasn´t a dayly flash. So if you already played a flashpoint what´s the reason to play it again. Really ? To touch level 50 and then go to whine to forums that you level too fast and the game doesn´t have any endgame content ?

And I really liked the first intros. So I stayed with wishes to know what it was about.

The most funny thing is the guys were of lower levels than me, and died during the combat against some middle boss, and I had to fihnish the combat alone and revive them after.

Pretty lame experience.

i know how u feel,

This is the INTERNET, ppl without patient ,

this game doesnt suit for a MMO,

it should and need to be changed into a console game.

Well they can yell at you to press space bar, but if you havent seen it or want to see it again .. make them wait! I really get sick of these go-go-go MMO players who are inconsiderate of others they are grouping with.

If everyone agrees to skip then great for those who have been there many times but otherwise play your own game and make them wait.

If they boot you from the group, their loss, add them to your ignore list and hopefully you can find a decent group.

Personally, I dont like people who bully like that and would have simply dropped group if they werent open to reason.

Anyways - hope your future FPs and OPs are more favorable. They can be really fun with decent people.

I haven't actually had anyone shout at me to spacebar, if they did I would tell them they should have told me before starting that they wanted to do that, and I would continue and watch all of it if I wanted to.

However, I did have someone once yell at me (as in typed in capitals with a lot of !!!!!!!!!!!!)

when I made a choice she didn't like in Black Talon

I chose not to kill the captain

That really ticked me off. I almost dropped the group, but seeing as there were only three of us they probably wouldn't have been able to finish, and so I carried on. I see that person around now and then as I have levelled, and I wouldn't group with her again.

After many times it's obvious to be bored by the same story, that's why.

It's a lame experience.

Just keep in mind that some people have done it 20 times already and just need the social points. It's mostly their fault for not communicating with you ahead of time that it's a quick run.

From now on just ask before you go into an instance. Just understand that if someone is looking for that one piece of gear and needs to run it 5 times to finally get it, spacebaring can cut literally hours off that time.

You do realize that making the LS choice makes the FP harder. I highly doubt they were raging just because you made the "carebear" choice.

Firstly, i can understand your frustration.

This kind of thing should be agreed upon beforehand, and not be pressed upon a player when theyve already started the flashpoint.

If i were you in this situation, i would simply quit the group and exit the flashpoint since theres no point continuing to play with them.

But to answer your question as to why people do the flashpoint more than once, its because they give unique drops that you have to do the flashpoint repeatedly to get a complete set of, and because people are "farming" social points (since most dont realise that all you have to do is group up with a friend for a day of questing to get a ton of social points).

This is why people do "speed-runs" of flashpoints (especially esseles/black talon since they give more social points than some of the other FP's).

But make sure that you pick a group that doesnt mind looking at the cinematics before you start... or just ignore the spacebar shouting and look at the cinematics anyway :D

Worst thing that can happen is that they kick you from the group and then you just find another group instead that doesnt mind watching the cinematics.

Tough for them, if you are playing a LS toon why should you have to set yourself back 100 alignment points just to make a FP easier for a group that doesn't want to handle a little more challenge?

And let's be serious BT is a joke as far as difficulty goes no matter what choice you make.

I've been in those same kind of groups before. Black Talon I'm sure I have run over 100 times on various characters but I don't rush anyone through it. I hit the spacebar til the end of the cutscenes and then wait for the rest of the group to catch up. Not that big of a deal to me if they wish to watch it. Like has been said you are a paying customer and if they don't like it then just ignore them and move on. I wouldn't give up on flashpoints because of the actions of a few douches honestly.

Heh, i find it interesting when people spacebar the cutscenes when they know the rest of the group wont.

I tried that once and i got bored after 2-3 cutscenes... so i just let the dialogue run... much better than sitting there in silence staring at the screen hehe

It's crazy how many people don't realize that your choices really have no bearing on the development of their character. One guy got mad at me in BT for killing the Captain. LOL.

I would love to play with someone that also wants to follow the conversations and the complete content!!

Just stick to it and try to find people who think the same

Well the first time ill watch the cutschenes, maby the 2nd and 3th time after that ill go for spacebar. Most people have done the same FP 5-10times and yes after 5 times every day in a row the story gets kinda old.

But why didnt you just do these FP earlier when you where leveling? then you would have seen the story because it would be new for everybody.

if you think the space bar is bad now

wait till this LFG gets put in and not aonly will you get "spacebar spacebar spacebar"

you will get the classic

"GGO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO"

rik

Wont happen 2 me anyway. Hm what is this rushing thing? O you want to rush ahead sure ill just hang back and take a break while you run back into the instance after dying. I am healer and darkside and i have no moral problems letting *****s die.

1)Don't use LFG if you don't like it

2)If you still want to see the same story for the 157th time, probably you have a to speak with a specialist.

Asap.

Ofc.

What I do is turn on the captions and I can read what they are saying, faster than the time it takes for them to say it, and then spacebar.

This what I do too. But I won't rush someone through a flashpoint. If someone starts yelling spacebar at me I just ignore them and then take longer on purpose.
