Huh? I have an nVidia card in my system, play with everything max'ed out and have had no issues what so every. And heck, I have a cheap GT 240 card. What is the issue here?

I'm using a GT240 as well and playing this on a media box I built to stream internet videos, etc on my television. Hell it's still using XP as an OS and I get better than average performance.

*Edit to add:

I did install the new driver a couple days ago and have no trouble with my 60 inch plasma. Yes there did seeem to be a minor increase in performance in TOR but that could be my mind.

Same as you would any program, you can just uninstall the drivers from Add/Remove Programs, and download the older driver version from Nvidia

And people ask me why I only buy ATI.

I don't know, to each his own. I have my fair share of problems with ATI. Most recently I tried one of their cards a year or so ago and it didn't play nice with my TV (a different TV at the time, 52" Sony) as a monitor. Everything was blurry and fuzzy. Flipped back to nVidia, everything happy and smooth.

Not to say one is better than the other, but I think there are enough variables that would cause someone to choose one over the other and neither choice is right or wrong.

why do people do this all the time.

can we get auto thread lock and delete for people that just randomly post things because they thought or heard someone that knows nothing about anything say something in passing to someone's foster cousin

Or a function when posting that automatically places a comma?

If the drivers you are currently using are working just fine, why update? This makes no sense. They update the drivers for fixes. Unless you have the latest brand new card that actually needs updated drivers for fixes, you should just leave well enough alone. Just because it's the latest drivers doesn't make them the best drivers for you.

I have an nvidia 580gtx and am having zero problems running at max settings. Why would I even think of updating the drivers??

Wait...

So two corporations are having some ridiculous tinkling contest and people in this thread feel it's important to chose sides and back their corporate deities?

The internet just keeps trying to kill my faith in humanity.

So you think that every game that comes out should have Nvidia's logo on the website or not get supported?

The OP's statement wouldn't be limited to SWTOR. It would be ALL games.

None the less, source please OP.

So, you think that every game that comes out should be automatically supported by Nvidia without any sort of compensation from the game company? Why is it that big of a deal to slap an Nvidia logo on the website and give them some extra revenue from advertising.

It usually isn't a giant, intrusive logo. Just something small, on the bottom... you know... where the other logos are.

Folks do realize that when games like Batman Arkam City and such, that are logo'd with the nVidia banner had help from nVidia when developing the game--right? i.e. nVidia sends an engineer or three to the game developer to assist with coding. The nVidia engineers help to make sure the code is getting the most out of the card. Me thinks, this is one reason why games like Arkham city look fantastic yet still run 10C to 15C cooler than the dated, low-res graphics in TOR.
