If you want people to keep playing, release the legacy system now.

I am enjoying the Flashes and Ops post-50 ...

You are making an assumption that everyone finds the post-50 game boring, yet you get on someone else for making an assumption about your post ... Very ironic ...

I didn't say everyone. SWTOR will retain some subs for many years, even if the devs make every wrong decision. It's a Star Wars game. They could box up dog doo, label it Star Wars and some people will buy it.

But for most people, the late game IS boring. You can already see it people who have stopped playing already. And that is going to continue unless you give them a reason to stay.

No troll, but you should probably quit now then. If the game as it stands doesn't appeal to you enough to keep playing what do you possibly imagine could be in the Legacy system to change that? A different race option for a class? Some minor cross-class ability? Vanity items? A Title? A new Companion? A shared Bank? Those would seem to be the most likely type things in the Legacy system... certainly nothing that would make someone who is going to unsub choose to stay... Especially since there will be a grinding aspect!

Say they offer your dream item! For example's sake, let's suggest A Purple Skinned Twi'lek Republic Trooper with a minor Force Sensitive Legacy power, a Title, and a cool new Companion. Except to unlock that feature, you need to grind up Legacy Levels by say taking 3 other alts to 50.

That is not the kind of crap that makes people sub, but it is the kind of crap that gives people who do want to sub something to do :p

Dude you need a chill pill.

Now as to the reason I am looking forward to it? JO in a interview mentioned it altering experience gain. I am hoping that it will allow a XP boost that will let me reroll ALL the classes to see story line and not have to redo the bazillion side quests for the trillionth time.

They can't fix Ilum. 2 faction world PvP in mmo's is impossible to balance. It will never be any good in this game or any other.

SWTOR is a PvE game designed from the beginning to encourage playing alts. Yet the most important feature for that is months away. While getting to 50 takes almost no effort. That is a recipe for failure.

It really is simple logic. Look at what the game's main strengths are, and then look at what it is missing. The legacy system is the most important feature missing from this game.

You may not agree, but you would be wrong.

According to you it may be the most important feature... but with millions of other players I'd be willing to bet that isn't what drew them to the game... it's a neat feature, but I'd rather it be complete before they release it.

While we're speaking of wrong, screaming that the sky is falling isn't going to help your argument either. If they lose subs over the next period of time it's not going to be because of one single thing but a multitude of reasons. Lack of end game, imbalanced pvp, lack of dual specs, lack of LFG tool, Bugs, Latency Issues, Population imbalances... yeah there's a lot of things other than a single feature that YOU wish to see right now.

So to reiterate, It's far more important for them to work on a good game takes into account all of these things rather than them to cater to your needs.

"Most". Again, an unqualified opinion. Droll.

LOL at this is everything or the game will die. If they wont fix or add this or that the game will die, pff the wow forums were full of that, in fact every MMO forum is full of that GW2? good luck with that you will have the same feeling i bet. and you will be saying teh same thing but just a diferent feature. Is always like that.

They have a plan, they are working on it, they will add new things ppl are just too impacient want everything now, now now.

That would be interesting... I'd be surprised if they did that, but its certainly possible.

This game is extremely young though for letting people achieve max level even quicker, but it could happen.

Yeah, they've announced that they have a major updated planned for March.

I don't blame BW for not releasing a lot of information ahead of time, anyways. If they uttered a word people would cling to it like a life-line and then stampede the forums pissed off beyond comprehension if something delayed or changed the original plans.

I know everyone has different expectations, but I think a little patience would do everyone good. I've been in since the first day of EGA and I'm a casual gamer and my highest level character is 36, I'm in no rush. Every large game has these types of issues at release. They're a constant work in progress and just because they announced a feature prior to release doesn't mean they ever intended for it to be in at release.

Why wait to make an alt for the system? You gain Legacy levels even as you continue to do things at 50 and as you level with an alt as well. Once the system is in place its retroactive or so I understand. So not sure why some people think you can't make an alt before the system releases...

You and your "simple logic, have failed to even acknowledge the glaring fact that it is your opinion. Your opinion does not speak for me, nor a lot of other people. While I would like to see the Legacy system in place, it really is nothing more than another option to grind for.

And to your last sentence, must be nice living in a world where your rose colored glasses never get scratched. Even Einstein was wrong from time to time, it's the only way to learn. So your simple logic is, well perhaps a bit too simplistic? Especially considering your ignoring important facts.

Just trying to help ya mang. No joke.

It will be really disappointing if they release the legacy system and it give us access to new races but we don't get a one-time token to change an existing character's race.

I play on a couple of the busier servers. Numbers in all the zones is dropping lately. Which was to be expected since many people didnt' renew.

But that is going to continue, unless they come up with a better incentive than what exists now.

Actually I have to agree with the OP. Ilum is HORRIBLE and just makes people not want to do it.

Faction imbalances are not being dealt with and are horrid also.

mods/macroes still not being in the game is hurting.

Pvp being judged as, "Who has the most stuns will win".

There is problems and i for one feel Bioware bit off more than they can chew with this mmo.

Story was good but that won't keep many people here long.

I'm not sure what endgame the OP expects from a theme park MMO. A month into the Panda expansion he's going to be finished with collecting dungeon gear, and then it's just a "wait until raid time" game. If he takes up Rift, the same exact thing will happen, only you'll get a new dungeon for every six new raids. I feel pretty confident saying that GW2 won't be any different.

Yea this makes me lol also. They are pinning all their hopes and dreams on yet ANOTHER game.

Shh... Listen... You hear that?

That's the sound of their hearts breaking ripping a tear in the space time continuum.

It's very simple really. The post 50 game just isn't that good.

The main attraction to keep paying for this game is to play alts, but the legacy system is months away. Not very smart on BioWars's part.

I suspect there will be a massive drop off in subs the next couple of months. Without the legacy system or at least some details giving us a carrot to stay, there really isn't a reason for most people to keep playing this game.

Yes, release an unfinished system so they the very same people demanding early release can then complain about it being broken...

I hope legacy doesnt consist of them allowing me to play more alien races, simply because i dont play them atm. I never watched the movies thinking oh i want to be this or that alien, i like the various species in the SW universe but have no desire to be one in game.

As for us rolling alts being the aim of boiware, maybe they should have diversified the classes abit, the endgame is getting old and the clones wars of characters is getting tedious also.

Is legacy set to be another disappointment??

I will bet anyone here one million credits that there won't be new races in the Legacy System.

If you think there will be, take one more of whatever you're on, give me three, and then we'll talk.

New races are there to get you to buy the expansion, not something thrown into a patch for free.

People are thinking there will new races with the Legacy System because BioWare has said that it's a possibility.

Yes Bioware, hire this guy right away!

Release a system not yet ready for release, potentially full of bugs which will cause more complaint threads to be generated about how people's legacy is broken instead of holding off a few more weeks and releasing it when it's far more stable.

Sheer... genius.
