Leggomy
It makes no sense that subscriptions are the answer, becasue they are already paid for? It moronic to even think that. If that is the case, how do games like Gears 3 or Skyrim stay in the top 10 for 6 months or more? This game has been out 3 weeks and its dropping like a rock. Once subs are up, the final nail will be driven. Sorry, so true though. PS: If you don't trust the one source, there are many others that mirror the same statistics on this game. Just google. Who cares about UK charts? There are more people in Texas than in the UK. The NA charts show the game outselling all titles n ALL platforms. I notice you choose to ignore that fact. DarthAbominor
http://venturebeat.com/2012/01/03/the-old-republic-drops-30-spots/ Star Wars drops sales: Star Wars: The Old Republic drops 30 spots on the UK sales charts January 3, 2012 | Sebastian HaleyAdd a CommentinShare. Electronic Arts and BioWare’s long-awaited, big budget Star Wars: The Old Republic has seen an unprecedented drop down the UK sales charts. According to Chart-Track, the licensed massively multiplayer online game plummeted from 10th position all the way to 38th during the week ending on December 31. The steep decline is not a good sign for the momentous MMO, largely accepted to be one of the most expensive games ever made. Released on December 20, The Old Republic quickly reached one million registered users globally. Leading up to its release, the game was expected to either be the first real threat to Blizzard Entertainment’s monopoly over the MMO space, or a massive failure a la most other titles in the genre, including Sony Online Entertainment’s oft-troubled Star Wars: Galaxies, whose servers were recently taken offline "UK Sales".. 'nough said. Buh-bie.

Elyons
And this thread has made me lose all faith in bioware. Think I may quit and go play diablo 3. Afterall, everyone knows games are always hoarded over after Christmas /Sarcasm off

Alkiii
I find it quite amusing that people actually take time out of their day to spew senseless material on a game they don't like. It makes absolutely no sense to me. The shallow lives people live ...
Black_Rabbit
people in the uk? not that i agree with the op lol He has a point, I think most of the EU online market goes to Swedish people, since that is ALL I meet when I go online, brits are quite rare and don't represent a large market
Saurakk
I am more curious what posts like this show about the mental state of the OP? Why do you care so much about a game failing and pointing it out even if it was true? Is Bioware your arch nemesis? Did they kill your dog? What satisfaction does posts like this bring to you? I never will understand this mentality and the strange little psychosis this represents.

Tsillah
vgchartz has the sales for last week and SWTOR sold over 300.000 copies in that week. I don't think that the OP's post means much. From software sales it's the only pc game in their general top 10. So again, the OP is overreacting.

I never will understand this mentality and the strange little psychosis this represents. They have nothing better to do with their time than patrol game forums of games they don't want to play. Makes lots of sense when you think about it. jk it doesn't. I can understand not liking the game but it truly boggles my mind when people continuously post on the forums of a game they think sucks and already 'unsubbed' to, yet if you look at their post history, this is a daily thing for them. captainmerkin
as of today the fastest selling game Update: Blizzard has debunked the rumored February 1st release date. Blizzard community manager Micah Whipple posted the following statement on Twitter: "Diablo III does not have a release date. Any store or person claiming otherwise is guessing." In addition, Joystiq is now reporting that the sign pictured below has been taken down.
Sparklehorse
Oh look another post by a troll who didn't bother to read his own source material. Here's a hint. Read the Update to the very article you linked. The fact that Bioware and EA are still controlling the amount of product that they release to store shelves is pretty strong evidence that the game is doing just fine. Bipolar
1) that's 1 country. 2) there are a lot of countries the game hasn't even launched in yet (including China and Australia). 3) the game launched on the 20th, Christmas was the 25th, that means that in the first week that the stats could be brought together, the game will get the launch sales AND christmas sales. The next week would see a MASSIVE drop in comparison to this.4) WoW totaled 8.6 Million box sales in July 2009, just under 5 YEARS AFTER RELEASE http://kotaku.com/5325771/world-of-warcrafts-us-sales-numbers-are-massive That is on average 33,076 sales per week in that 5 year period, worldwide. If Bioware does any better than this they are heading for a better return than Blizzard, whether you like it or not. If you are going to post this, post the facts, not just an article. PS, the post has an update, you might want to read it before getting all cocky
