  1. They acknowledged it 2 weeks ago. Read the Dev Tracker and the stickies before commenting please.
  2. 6 months here. I'm willing to give BW this time at least because I am in no rush. If they break the game like they did a couple of days ago I'll just get on with RL and come back once fixed. Pretty simple really.
  3. Staggered entry: got you in with minimal fuss/no server crashes, didn't it? Best idea they have had so far IMO Poor Communication: This is BS. Read the Dev Tracker a little more. Duping bugs: Sorry don't quite get you on this other than all games have bugs. Get over it. Massive queues / huge Drop in Population: The queues are what you get when a new game releases with over a million players during christmas holidays when most people aren't working and can play the game. Huge drop in population? BS, where are your numbers? The only evidence you have is the servers don't have queues that much anymore (The Swiftsure gets them on every weekend at the moment BTW). Did you ever think that server cap went up after people left the starting areas? Nerfing of professions: Needed to be done. Get over it. ability delay: Is being looked into but yes this is an issue, but doesn't say anything about the launch itself. Here are some things that were good about the launch: No system-wide server crashes, only a couple of minor issues caused by the patches, consistent patching, even through Christmas holidays, addition of over a million players into the game over 5 days, new content within 30 days of release. I can back up all of these with FACTS. How about you mention the things that actually made it a successful launch while also mentioning the bad things, rather than make comments based on your personal opinion. That is called being BIASED. You should be a Journalist
  4. I don't get where this "hundreds of Thousands leaving" idea comes from. I'm sorry but I haven't seen "hundreds of thousands" of players posting on the forums saying that they are going. Now, most won't they'll just leave. However, my guild usually mass exit a game if its bad. For the first time since SWG the guild is actually growing and retaining memebers. We even have old players joining us again. This is the same for a lot of guilds on our server, especially Aussie guilds. Trust me, you'd be lucky to see a 10% drop on Friday. Unlike the people on the firums, there are a lot of people in game that have patience and are willing to give a few months of subs while Bioware make things better. If what James Ohlen said is true, by the 3 month period the game should have most of the normal features in an MMO. So, as long as they last until then, the game will grow. Whether people leave or not, the difference is that there is a huge possibility of them all coming back. Why? Even though there are issues, Bioware haven't left anyone with a sour taste in their mouth.
  5. 1) that's 1 country. 2) there are a lot of countries the game hasn't even launched in yet (including China and Australia). 3) the game launched on the 20th, Christmas was the 25th, that means that in the first week that the stats could be brought together, the game will get the launch sales AND christmas sales. The next week would see a MASSIVE drop in comparison to this. 4) WoW totaled 8.6 Million box sales in July 2009, just under 5 YEARS AFTER RELEASE http://kotaku.com/5325771/world-of-warcrafts-us-sales-numbers-are-massive That is on average 33,076 sales per week in that 5 year period, worldwide. If Bioware does any better than this they are heading for a better return than Blizzard, whether you like it or not. If you are going to post this, post the facts, not just an article. PS, the post has an update, you might want to read it before getting all cocky
  6. Howvever, Patch 1.1 proves that they are working on it. A lot of the issues mentioned on this forum have been looked at and resolved in this upcoming patch: Off the top of my head: The Kira not progressing issue, the issues with PvP in Ilum, the additional content need in End Game, Anti-Aliasing has been added, and Level 50 only warzones, not to mention more fixes for Taris issues. I think that is pretty good for 3 weeks after release to resolve so many issues that people had. There are more fixes needed, and a lot of additions required but its a good start.
  7. Ok, that means they might give you a free month every 15 months (2 days x 15 months = 30 days = 1 month). Are we at 15 months yet? No. Therefore you don't deserve squat...plus you are not paying for anything yet so you don't deserve any free time. As for the EU players complaining about the time the maintenance occurs, here in Australia it happens during our peak times. We lose the WHOLE time, not just a couple of hours when people SHOULD be at work or school. Yes, we aren't supposed to have the game yet. That's why we don't care. However, watch what happens when the servers are launched down here in 3 months...so shut your traps and stop acting like spoiled children.
  8. I completely disagree with this post. If this is the case, then the Sorcerers should be removed from the game completely...it'd be easier to do this than deal with the aftermath of the massive nerf that is required. Learn to play against the scoundrel, don't just ask for a nerf. I am at level 41 and I am finally starting to even up with the BH and SI on power.
  9. I'm sorry, what is broken that wasn't already broken before this patch? What wasn't fixed, other than the graphics, that was mentioned in this patch? I experienced nothing but improvement ON THE FIXES MENTIONED IN THE PATCH. I still stand by my original point. Prove me wrong with screenshots, physical proof. Until I see it for myself it's resolved.
  10. Guild UI works for me, hasn't bugged out in a few hours of playing. FPS in indoor areas is fine for me as well, especially in the Fleet where I had massive problems. The patch is fine in my opinion. Bioware can't win. If they keep a patch on Test server for 2 weeks to test then people complain that not enough fixes are coming through, if they keep it on for a few days like they are now, people complain that not enough was fixed. Step back, stop whinging and give them time. If you can't, or don't want to, that's fine, leave. No one is stopping you. However, the truth is none of you want to leave. If this is the case, give Bioware your money for a couple of months so they can afford to fix the issues. No money means no staff to fix the problems and then no subscribers. The only way for this trend to be broken is by us customers calming down and giving them the benefit of the doubt. We know what Bioware can do, give them time in the office outside of holiday periods. It's been 2 weeks and that was mostly Christmas. Give them time FFS
  11. We knew what was in the patch. If it takes 2.5 hours to implement this (so upload what is already on the test server) then that is a good thing. The 8 hours last week might have been because something went wrong in the update. This was good, and you are still complaining. I am over this forum, there are too many impatient children on here.
  12. Read the patch notes on Test right now, most of those are resolved in the one patch. Your argument is flawed. If they can fix those issues in 1 patch, and during the Christmas holiday period for that matter as well, then I have high hopes for this development team.
  13. Thi there but they aren't game breaking (except for the BH's). The lag has been minimal for me and no CTD's. I was never a part of WoW's launch but, from what I've heard, this has surpassed that launch in leaps and bounds. I'd like to know what launches were better than this?
  14. I'm in AUS, bought the CE from Amazon and it's now in Australia waiting to be delivered either Monday or Tuesday. I got Priority International Shipping so that's why I get it so quickly. I don't know what you have done in regards to your order but the grace period they have given is more than enough time to get the game if you got priority shipping in the Red Zone. If you are in the US well then you should have it by the 20th no matter what.
  15. It's the only full server left. Lots of US players doing 24 hour shifts
  16. Incorrect. Launch is when the boxes are allowed to be sold by stores/placed on their shelves. That is the 20/12/2011. Today is the 15/12/2011. 2 days ago was the start of Early Game Access. The game hasn't launched yet. Get your facts straight before you make stupid comments like this.
  17. I'm sorry but you have no right to comment, especially when you had the code and didn't use it. Your fault, your problem. Deal with it.
  18. I understand what you are saying about the money. However, they always said that it would be like this. There is a reason why I will class this as the best launch to date...the EGA. Not once have I had to sit in a queue. Not once have I crashed to desktop. The only flaw so far...is their inability to get the CE to me before 27/12, even using International Priority shipping. Your words fall on deaf ears to us Redzoners because at least you will get to play the game after the 20/12. We have to wait. The money issue is bogus because I only just got my credit card charged. If you have the money now but not in July, that doesn't make one bit of a difference as you will have paid the money NOW, not July. It's just excuses. If you had a legitimate reason then you probably won't complain as you'd understand. Your reason sounds like it's just a whingefest because you can't get everything your way. Seriously, get over yourself.
  19. You know guys, nothing has changed for us Aussies with fast shipping, other than we MIGHT now get it by the 23rd. Very unlikely though. Guess what? The 26th and 27th are public holidays here. We don't get it on the 23rd? We don't get it until the 28th. Its as simple as that. This is ********. Send it on the 16th!!
  20. It's "The Swiftsure" NOT "Swiftsure". People are looking for Swiftsure and not finding it. Currently Aussie peak and our servers are still thriving. Hope the US players start eating humble pie, the sky hasn't fallen.
  21. It's called "The Swiftsure". This is the PvP server. PvE is The Harbinger and Jar Jar Binks, I mean The Jekk Jekk Tar

    Swiftsure

Most of us have jobs to go to at the moment though so, other than the next few nights (which are the times that US players are at work) there will only be overlaps on our Sunday/ your Saturday. Also, notice that it's now at Standard in the US peak (while we're at work). Us being on the server won't affect you guys and it will affect all of us together during the weekends but that's what you get at launch for big servers. Please stop spreading this propaganda. You have been doing it for the past 12 hours.
  23. I disagree. This has been a better than average launch SO FAR. They've had their issues but its better than WoW's launch.

    Swiftsure

Have fun with your quiet off-peak servers. Swiftsure will be 24/7 PvP baby!!
