  1. I think that the only thing that should stop you from capping an objective would be death. I always thought DOTs and CC were more than a bit cheap. Focus fire and KILL the person trying to take a turret, plant a bomb, etc.
  2. Exactly. What made me want to quit warzones wasn't losing. Well, it was, but it was losing because NO ONE ELSE was even trying to achieve objectives!
  3. Why is this a bad idea? I see it solving two problems: 1. Warzone quitters. NO ONE will want to quit now, even if you are losing. Quit and you don't get your valor and comms. Previously, warzones didn't grant enough of either to matter enough to want to stay without getting a win to tick the daily/weekly mission counter. 2. Hutball farming. Now that you gain a LOT for 4 medals but nothing but e-peen for additional ones, there is every incentive to win as fast as possible and none to "farm" the other team at 5-0 for 8 minutes. The only downside to this patch is that I think it will kill open PVP in Ilum. Warzones will be quicker, easier, and more convenient to people, as they won't even have to leave the space station.
  4. Most of them got it by exploiting armaments before the Ilum changes or by AFK'ing Ilum. I get about 4 hours play time each weekday evening (I work full time) and one of the changes put in to curb the kill traders frustrates me each Tuesday: NO VALOR GAINED. See, because I tend to gain a LOT of kills and valor very quickly (because I try to get my 150 on Tuesday night) the game punishes me. So far everything Bioware has done to try to curb the cheaters ends up doing NOTHING to them and only harms honest players. I lack one piece for a full Champion set and I'm at Valor level 52. None of that gained from armament exploiting or AFK'ing. Yet I get to see the valor limit nerf every week...
  5. I'm dreading the statboards coming. Warzones are already full of stat elitists. Had one jerk the other day try to tell me I didn't know how to play my Sage. He had some gaudy heal number. Well, it was a Huttball instance, and I was sticking to the ball carrier and keeping them protected and healed. So my number sucked because I was taking care of one person. Never saw the elitist jerk do anything but pvp and area heal in the center, he did NOTHING to help try to win the game. You just have to learn to ignore people like that. Next warzone I did was Alderran, and I put up a big heal number and got 5 MVP votes (most of anyone). Why? because that is a warzone where if you are a Sage you are GOING to put up a big heal number if you are doing your job right (ie: supporting your turret attackers and defenders). Huttball is not one such.
  6. I think there are three reasons why they are doing this: 1. Making it easier for Republics to catch up to the Imps in gear, given our numerical disadvantage and the fact that the Imps due to their numbers have been Battlemasters since the exploit. 2. Appealing to the casuals. Which makes me want to throw up (go back to WoW, WoW Kidz) 3. An admission that they can't make mass PVP playable. Which also makes me want to throw up.
  7. Battlemaster never was anything but a grind to give level 50's something to do post Champion gear. It's not really even that much better than Champion gear, certainly not the same improvement Champion is over Centurion. Now that they are making it easier they better be closer to having more for us to do on the horizon.

    Is SWTOR dying?

I have to say, this weekend on my server Ilum was DEAD most of the time. It was actually difficult getting enough kills to get the daily done Saturday and Sunday. That is ominous to me. Yeah, Ilum sucks. But are people giving up on it? Or, even worse: have all the imps gotten their battlemaster gear and they have no need to fight anymore?
  9. In Huttball the only winning move is not to play.
  10. Or the option to ONLY queue as a premade for it. A lot of the crap that goes on wouldn't if we could actually play this as a team.
  11. This. You'd get far more valor and comms by winning a SECOND Hutball in those 7 minutes.
  12. What is the incentive for hanging around for 7 minutes when down 5-0 then? Even if I were on the winning side I still wouldn't want to be forced to hang around for that time even to farm, I want the win and move on. Maybe the changes to medals (ie: getting rid of them which it sounds like) will discourage this. I dislike Huttball anyway, if it's going to drag on forever, win or lose, I'm going to exit WZ and hope for something else next time. Getting 5 Hutballs in a row usually makes me log out and work on another toon...
  13. Which will lead to no one for you to farm. If loading into Hutball means getting farmed for 12 minutes everyone will leave it soon as they see it come up.
  14. Because of the "farming" behavior I'm already opting out of Huttball by dropping it soon as I see it come up. This kind of behavior will ultimately be self defeating.
  15. That's because in that era the Empire was hunting and killing any Jedi that didn't hide from them... In this era, Jedi are generals and prominent leaders in the Republic and operate openly.
  16. What you describe is the best idea for making Hutball bearable.
  17. Not soon enough! Nothing made me sicker than reaching level 50 and realizing that "Begun, the Clone Wars have..." As a 50 Sage I look like every OTHER 50 Sage.
  18. Incorrect. They said they won't add that ability until they have cross server queuing in the game . Which won't be any time soon. Their stated reason is that if they let us choose which warzones to queue for that certain warzones won't get played. IE: hutball. Seriously, would anyone queue for Hutball if they could choose not to?
  19. /Agree Hutball should be relegated to a mini game. It is NOT a real warzone. It's poorly designed and if you aren't certain classes (ie: force leapers) you are never going to be good at it and shouldn't be punished by having it show up when you queue. Add to this the latest scourge where your opponent will run the score up to 5-0 THEN run out the clock farming your side instead of ending it. I drop Hutball every time I end up in it.
  20. Yes. I've been giving Centurion gear (and duplicated champion gear) to my Jedi companion. I'm using Centurion comms to upgrade other companions now too.
  21. This is something that concerns me in this game's design. Since damage or the ability actually going off is tied to it's ANIMATION (which is why Jedi ranged damage has a delay while the rocks are thrown) then it's highly likely that this is EXPLOITABLE just as it has been in DCUO, where PVP cheating runs rampant.
  22. They need to use more instancing in Ilum to both improve performance AND to balance the sides so that it's a fight instead of a gankfest.
  23. I can confirm this, I observed it last night. I captured the left turret before the imps got the right. When both hit (the middle was still unclaimed) our ship's shield HP was lower than the imps when it shouldn't have been, it should have been even or us ahead because I captured a turret for the Republic a few seconds before they caught the right. Which means you can predict that the imps will ALWAYS go for the right turret first. I get frustrated when the Republic doesn't try to go left/center right off the bat because the imp side will always go for that advantage turret first. Also, I'm LONG past believing there is any coincidence in how every "mistake" always favors the imps. Such as sorcerer damage being instantaneous while the sage is delayed until the rock throwing animation completes. Add to it the right turret being overpowered AND the one most easy to capture from the imp base...

    Told to leave

I'd really like to see them remove the ability to view the gear of another player. This helps feed the snobbery. That should be a permissions based thing, ie: you have to allow others to see your gear and stats.
  25. I'd like to see something done with CC in this game. Playing as a Sage, I feel like a ball in a pinball machine. Pushed, pulled, knocked down, knocked back... Being forced to stand still at full health while I can do nothing but be killed is NOT a fun game mechanic.
