  1. This isn't an expansion, it's a cash shop minigame. No wonder Bioware didn't charge us for this, if they had, there'd have been rioting outside their HQ. I'd be more upset about development time being misused if it weren't obvious this thing took about 12 minutes to code, judging by it's poor excuse for a design.
  2. In SWG I PVP'ed in space a lot, and my favorite ship to fly was the A-Wing. In that game, the skill of the player that crafted it for you mattered, and I had one that had more mass points than any on my server (traded a player city for it in fact...). In this abomination of a space fighter sim, the scout doesn't seem especially agile (or is that the awful controls), or fast, and if a heavier fighter breaks wind in your direction you are dead. Given how awful this thing is designed, the only way to get anything out of it is to fly the most heavily armed thing you can get, since pilot skill is IRRELEVANT, and at least having heavier guns and armor helps make it matter if you manage to get something to blunder into your sights.
  3. I've played nearly every space flight sim that has ever been released, from Elite, to the Wing Commander games, to XWing/Tie Fighter, and of course JTL in SWG. This has got to be the most pathetic effort at a space flight sim I've ever seen. The controls need 3 hands (at least) and mouse control will NEVER be any good for flight. If you aren't willing to invest $20 in a joystick, you have no business playing a flight anything sim. And any flight sim that doesn't support a joystick is garbage. Congrats, Bioware, you managed to F- up the only part of Star Wars that Sony didn't manage to screw up in SWG, the space game! If this is your idea of spacefighter combat, you might as well have kept it "on rails" with us at the mercy of "combat pilot Drunken Monkey" who flies our ships constantly into asteroids, allowing us only to wiggle it a little...
  4. It's real name is Bloodfin. Uh, Bugfin.
  5. Well, it is a LONG LONG time ago in a galaxy FAR FAR away. I guess they invented spaceships, blasters and hyperdrive before they invented LTE phones?
  6. This is a very good idea. Make the legacy names unique, make them have to be chosen at character creation on the server. Cryptic, despite the failure of STO came up with what I thought was the best naming system ever in a MMO, your account NAME is unique, then you can have any character name you want. IE: my account there was wildcat84, therefore, every character I made was charactername@wildcat84. Of course, the game doesn't display the @wildcat84... This way everyone can have the names they want.
  7. That's not hard to do. Main thing is to get it to work at higher resolutions, there are graphics patches out there for that.
  8. Just reboot the damn thing already. I've got an old Commodore 64 laying around somewhere. I'll donate it to Bioware so they can upgrade the server.
  9. Bioware jumped the shark with Dragon Age 2, the first bad game they ever made. SWTOR, jury still out. But they are MMO rookies.
  10. No in client mail is really really dumb. Since this is a future/sci-fi game and we are carrying around comlinks and datapads...
  11. I'm having serious SOE/SWG/Bugfin flashbacks. They could never keep the server up on a weekend either.
  12. All I can say is that SOMEONE better be getting FIRED over this.
  13. We should book the people responsible for PVP on a holiday at Crystal Lake.
  14. This Dev team: The gang that couldn't shoot straight.
  15. And Bioware put this in because EVERYONE knows that long, endless mindless grinds to get a piece of gear IS MAGICAL FUN!
  16. Yep. This mechanism only works if you can bring in your OWN 8 man group. When being forced to group with random idiots people bail at the first sign things are going south. Could Bioware hire someone who actually has experience with PVP in a MMO? Please? Or did they blow that budget on coke and ******s?
  17. The biggest problem is that Bioware lacks any sense of URGENCY. They don't realize that it's time to bring in the cots and the caffeine, and work until this is fixed. No, they think we'll be patient enough to wait. WRONG. If they stick to THEIR schedule instead of our expectations they will be well on their way to seeing half the servers close, half of them unemployed, and this game on it's way to FTP. A lot of us were around for the NGE. We warned SOE that they didn't have months to fix the monster they wrought. They had weeks. AT BEST. Same thing here, Bioware. Every day this inadequate patch 1.2 is live the more subs you lose. PERMANENTLY.
  18. 1.2 is a lousy patch. All it has is stuff that should have been in AT LAUNCH. FYI, most of the crap for sale for "legacy", such as the mail terminal on your ship WERE TAKEN OFF THE SHIP in beta!
  19. Only if they are in the game within that month. And I doubt it. This debacle has lowered my respect for this Dev team nearly to the level of the people who designed the NGE and said "Brilliant!".
  20. I'd imagine the people in accounting have been screaming at management today about as much as we have. If there was a showstopper with ranked warzones it SHOULD HAVE CAUSED THE WHOLE PATCH to be delayed!
  21. Exactly. Those of us who PVP log in today with LESS than we had yesterday. And 1.2 is supposed to be the "miracle patch"?
  22. 1.2 was supposed to be the "miracle patch". It falls FAR short of it. The PVP game is going BACKWARDS. Bioware has no right to expect anyone who's endgame is PVP to stick around.
  23. Know what this tells you? A LOT of people unsubbed when we got ambushed with the "HA HA! No ranked warzones" bait and switch. And I use that term on purpose. They tried to pull a fast one.
  24. 1.2 has shattered many people's hopes for this game. Unless they pull off a miracle (they won't even try) very VERY quickly and put the missing features back in this game will be merging servers before summer and be free to play by fall.
