  1. Ilum is one of the worst ideas for PVP I've ever seen in a MMO.
  2. It was a mistake for Bioware to nerf valor gain without resetting the valor levels of everyone who abused it. That is the biggest problem in PVP right now.
  3. If you leave a warzone before it's complete you should be penalized valor equal to what the winners would have earned.
  4. Has anyone noticed that every flaw in this game (ie BH's tracer missile vs Trooper's lack of, Sorcerer's insta lightning vs rock throwing Sages) favors the Imperial side? No wonder the PVP servers are stacked 3-1 Imperial vs Republic.
  5. There is nothing in this game that encourages GOOD pvp. Ilum is a "Red Rover Red Rover, send Imp right over" game. Warzones give nearly the same rewards in terms of commendations and XP to losers that it does winners. So no one actually has to learn how to fight. TOR rewards laziness way too much.

    medals out of gate

Or using Noble Sacrifice and healing oneself. It's stupid.
  7. Resolve was probably tested by the same Q/A testing department which verified the last 3 fixes to warzone victories counting towards daily and weekly missions and who tested the 1.1.2 patch to make sure that the Ilum changes didn't cause kills to not count there towards daily and weekly missions. In other words, it's not been tested...
  8. I did manage to complete my weekly. I did it by using trickery to get into the one instance on my server where kills would count (getting grouped with someone on that instance, then leaving the planet and coming back) and surviving the lagfest. At random intervals (which got shorter the closer I got to 150) I'd stop getting kill credit. By suiciding into the enemy group and cloning I'd be able to get credit again. Yeah, completely unfun.
  9. Having played both, I can tell you that Sorcerer is NOT a true mirror of Sage. Also BH is not a mirror of Trooper. Both have superior abilities on the Imp side.
  10. Yeah, resolve is useless. I pay no attention to the resolve bar. I do pay attention to my break CC ability, and it's 2 minute cooldown. Which breaks me free for all of two seconds before the next sorcerer or agent roots me.
  11. Immunity timers need to be added for CC once it's cleared OR BEEN CLEARED. You shouldn't be able to immediately re-root people. Either that or remove CC from the game. Granted, there needs to be SOME CC, but not this. Being held in place unable to do anything is not fun. Excessive roots and snares make the game less fun. Less fun=Less customers which = less $$$ for EA.

    Ilum

They need to just take the armaments OUT of the central zone. Or make them random spawns that can happen anywhere. It gives the faction with the most numbers the advantage, basically a monopoly. Consider that you can't even APPROACH it without your name and location being broadcast in LARGE RED LETTERS. Which is stupid, but another subject. If anything, armaments should spawn AT THE BASE of the faction with the least average valor level in an effort to help them level up their gear and valor FASTER than the dominant faction.
  13. PVP sucks in this game. It's nothing but a gear grind. Ilum really has no purpose rather than to be a grand fight club between factions on each server, knowing that to get kills everyone has to BE killed. Mostly because the factions are so imbalanced that practical defense of objectives are impossible. There are no rewards whatsoever for open world PVP. You don't even get valor. Which means only true griefers really even bother with it. There should be fights everywhere. On every planet. At least on the PVP servers. There is a WAR going on after all! You should be able to achieve your daily/weekly "Ilum" missions by getting PVP kills literally in any zone where PVP is allowed. Warzones.. Ugh, don't get me started. There should have been FAR more than just three.
  14. This won't solve anything. If you make it so that kills won't count if X person is killed more than Y times you are just punishing people. Furthermore, it would slow progress for people who didn't take advantage of fight clubbing while it was providing faster progress while doing nothing whatsoever to punish the fight clubbers. It'd also do nothing to discourage fight clubbing, if anything, it would INCREASE it, these people would show up, cap out their valor/kills, then log off/do something else instead of remain on the field and possibly provide kills to anyone else. If something this drastic is to be done the only fair solution is to delete all the champion and battlemaster PVP gear from everyone's inventories and reset everyone to valor level zero.
  15. Keep in mind too that to have a level 50 on the test server, right now you'd have to level it. WHO WOULD DO THAT? I certainly won't. As I said, BETA is over. We're paying customers now. I'm not going to spend my precious play time to be an unpaid Q/A tester for a billion dollar company. Frankly I am not in the least bit interested in playing on the test server for this reason, except maybe to preview changes to the game. I certainly am not going to put game features through feature and regression testing for them. That is what their apparently NONEXISTENT Q/A department is supposed to do. It's not just Bioware who does this. Every MMO publisher also expects their customers to do their Q/A testing for them whilst paying for the privilege. No other kind of software company would dare do such a dishonest thing. And I'm sick of it. The endgame is already so thin that it's anorexic AND bulimic. Patches that break it to this extent should NEVER make it into live, and should be rolled back within hours if it should happen by accident or unforeseen circumstances. It is very obvious from the magnitude of this problem that there was no testing of Ilum done whatsoever under anything remotely close to a real daily/weekly PVP situation. Considering that Ilum broke on every single server in this game this problem should have immediately come to light had Bioware properly tested it EVEN ONCE prior to deployment. This is also why the multiple attempts to fix warzone victories properly counting have not worked. I doubt Bioware has run even one actual play test of it, much less the several that would be necessary to verify proper functionality. Instead they are throwing solutions against the wall and hoping one sticks. Bioware, you can do better than this. You have the money. You have the resources. And we deserve better than this.
  16. I won't disagree that the resolution (assuming it actually works) is fast. What I'm saying is that if Bioware ran patches through a proper Q/A process the bug NEVER SHOULD HAVE GONE LIVE in the first place. Bioware does not do proper testing of features before they patch.
  17. Take the notifications out PERIOD. If we aren't going to see enemy players on the radar we shouldn't get red flashy notices. And it really gives the advantage to the side with superior numbers making hit and run raids basically pointless. This is one reason why Ilum is more a game of AFK "Red Rover Red Rover" instead of a real fight. The fact that the other side gets notification that you are heading north long before you've even got there means they will just have a gank squad there waiting for you. Which is why there is very little gang fighting and why everyone collects at one point rather than fighting at each node. It also probably adds to the FREQUENT lag spikes.
  18. I've worked for a company that has a real Q/A testing department. IBM's. At a company like IBM, extreme flaws like this are never seen by the customer. They are found and fixed before an update goes out. I know, I was one of their testers. NO MMO publisher really does QA testing on patches. They compile it and test it to see if the client loads and runs. If it doesn't blue screen they pass it. That's a FAR cry from testing all functionality and doing regression testing on previous functions added. Like I said, all they would have had to do to catch this bug is take a couple groups to Ilum on a test server and try to do the daily mission and they would have seen it. It's not just Bioware who has this kind of shoddy operation, EVERY publisher, including Blizzard does things this way. Why? Because people don't punish them financially for doing it. They don't see having a proper Q/A testing department as making them any money. So they push the junk live and let the paying customers find the bugs. Like I said, most of our lead Devs came from SOE, which also followed this practice.
  19. Who knows? Something in PVP breaks everytime they patch it. Warzone wins counted consistently until patch 1.1 when they split 50's off into their own bracket. Ilum kills counted consistently until they changed champion bags. Anyone want to speculate as to what they break in trying to fix kills counting towards dailies/weeklies? Or if this fix will even work? They've claimed 3-4 times to have fixed the warzone problem too.
  20. Ilum/PVP endgame needs a complete RESET. Remove all the valor and all the gear from the game. Resetting EVERYONE is the only fair thing to do at this point.
  21. Good healers are ALWAYS the MVP. Whether they are voted as such or not.
  22. As a Sage the only way I can get more than 1 medal in a WZ is to intentionally wound myself and heal myself. My Shadow gets 5-6 every time just from dealing damage.
  23. A fully specced healer (Sage) is probably the easiest thing to kill. I should know, I play one. Which sucks in the warzones and in the "Red Rover" fest on Ilum. I can't directly kill an enemy as I lack any DPS or defenses whatsoever. I'm only good for healing others who can kill them for me.
  24. I was told last night to just run into the imps and suicide if kills stopped counting. That didn't work. After an hour I should have had about 45 kills. I ended with ZERO. Does Bioware actually test anything? With 1.7 million subscribers they should be able to afford a QA department and to have a few dozen people test Ilum before sending a patch live. Or they need to start PAYING players to be testers. Beta is over. I'm NOT going to your test server and do your job for you. It's at times like this I am reminded of the fact that there are a number of ex SOE Devs on this team. Which given the incompetence that has gone through SOE over the lifetime of SWG like that stuff that goes through a goose is not a great thing to have on one's resume if they want respect as a professional. I'm sick of the bugs that has basically broken the PVP endgame. Warzones don't count at least half the time. Ilum wasn't fun but at least worked. Now that has been broken.
  25. What is sad is that every single glitch has favored the Imperials over the Republic players. Imps got en masse gear because they outnumbered us and exploited valor on Ilum. They get more gear because of the warzone wins not counting glitch because they win more of them than us. And now you can't even complete a daily as a Republic because of another glitch. It seems to me it's time to WIPE all valor levels, remove all PVP gear from the game and start over.
