  1. How is it incompetence? Gear in PvP is already quite easy to acquire for even a moderately committed player. Exactly what weekly reward would you like? It's not like pre-1.2 where the dailies and weeklies were vital to the gearing up process. They purposefully designed it so that the rewards coming from running WZs were the primary way to gain gear, with the missions simply providing a bonus each day/week. Other than WH gear (which was botched by the removal of Rated WZs and no system for reasonable acquisition rates without it), PvP gear is pretty much perfectly handled in terms of cost and effort required to gain it.

    Stunned

Read more of the forums, this is a major topic that is brought up and argued over like crazy. Personally, i think stuns are an essential aspect to pvp -- all CC is vital in pvp and provides a great deal of tactical ability. Now, i think CC in TOR is a bit out of control. They've given many (perhaps all) classes a great deal of control, which is great out in the world and awesome when you are the one stunning people in pvp. It's incredibly frustrating as the player being stunned and rooted into oblivion, however. Players hate having control over their character taken from them. Finding the perfect balance between what is simply frustrating, but acceptable, and what is game-breaking to most players is difficult and the true test of MMO pvp game design. We'll see how TOR does in the months to come...

Yes, because i am terrible at everything.
  4. It's just a bonus. They don't have to have weeklies at all. Just think of it as one extra daily each week if you do three of your dailies already.
  5. That's all well and good, but you're still part of the problem. I'm not saying BW shouldn't fix it, they absolutely should. Premades should ONLY play against other premades. But right now, that's just not in the cards. 1. it's not in the game and 2. most servers don't have a population to support it. I'm sure it will be in with xserver queues... but who knows when that will be? So until then, either help solve the problem, or destroy pvp on your server and leave yourselves with no one to play against. Rage against BW all you want, you're creating an issue that prevents your own enjoyment of the game. Stop eating your own tail and come up with a solution -- perhaps roll with two premades and try to make sure you're on opposite sides on a match. That way less is left up to the Puggers, but you're still able to coordinate and be competitive.
  6. This is actually a TERRIBLE idea. It's part of the problem TOR is in right now. They need to be VERY selective in the customers they listen to. If they listen to the player base, they would believe that every class is simultaneously overpowered and underperforming, that all the WZs are hated and enjoyed in equal measure, that Ops and HM Flashpoints are too hard while being too easy, etc, etc. Player communities are just horrible and should NOT be listened to en masse. Now, that being said, they should pay attention to SOME of the players. Figuring out who actually knows what they are talking about and who don't isn't that hard. It's not based on join date or experience in a previous game; it's based on reading someone's post and seeing if they really know what they are saying, or just complaining about something in the game not being exactly what they want.
  7. 1. BW didn't make Warhammer, EA/Mythic made it and EA basically gave it to BW when they merged BW/Mythic together. So it's not their previous game. 2. This is all the result of the devs seriously underestimating how popular pvp was going to be in this game. Of course, mistakes have been made since launch when they did realize this -- and they promoted pvp a great deal prior to launch, so i'm not really sure what they expected to happen.
  8. Use chat to find other players, as well as the /who system that lets you see if people have flagged themselves LFG. There's no Dungeon Finder system in the game, so you actually have to put a group together yourself.
  9. It's no more spoilery than "Champion of the Great Hunt" -- in fact less so since "Emperor's Wrath" doesn't mean much to anyone who hasn't reached Act 3 yet. The title could mean just about anything. We lost it because they wouldn't let us have both it and Darth, which is silly. We have apprentice or something early on, which SIs don't get -- so we're balanced with them having Forcewalker. But i'd gladly share Apprentice with them to get Emperor's Wrath back and still keep Darth. Give us Emperor's Wrath at the start of Act 3, then Darth at it's conclusion. And give BH's "...the Mandalorian" while you're at it BW!
  10. Update wouldn't cut it. They need a full blown announcement. It needs to be like pre-release where they are trying to get people excited for the game. There needs to be an announcement showing images of the redesign, general ideas, and footage showing it functioning. Even if it's in a rough form for internal testing, it needs to show the game engine handling large-scale pvp in an open world environment for extended periods of time, not just quick shots and jump cuts. Actually, even that isn't enough -- it needs to show with players accessing the game from a remote location, to demonstrate that the servers and engine can handle players at different locations all playing together in one area with more than 16 people.
  11. I believe the phrase you are looking for to use on the OP is "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." Trite perhaps, but in this specific instance it seems remarkably appropriate. OP presents a problem that he is actively making worse, then takes no responsibility for making efforts to solve it. OP: stop rolling in a pre-made. Queue up solo and you'll have a challenge again, which is what pvp is supposed to be all about. End up with some of your guildies on the other team and trash each other -- it's worth a good laugh and you'll find a new competitive spirit. Or, just keep damaging your server's pvp community and complain about what you are doing as though you have no control over it. Doesn't really matter to me...
  12. Does anyone have any idea what this means? The content itself is a mystery to me, and the strange capitalization makes it only more cryptic. I feel like he's a messenger from one of the Great Old Ones or something...
  13. I'd like to address your last point specifically. What old gear is useless? If you have Cent/Champ stuff, then yeah it's pretty useless. You're better off just buying the Recruit set while you work on BM. If your old gear IS BM, then it's far from useless and perfectly effective in WZs. Now, if you don't have BM yet, it's NOT "stupidly hard to get" and only takes about 1-2 weeks to be full BM if you pvp regularly and often. If you are specifically referring to WH stuff; yes it takes a long time for casual or even committed (but not crazy hardcore or pre-made only) players to get -- but BM gear is perfectly effective in WZs. WH-geared folks will have an advantage over you, but really not a huge one at all.
  14. 1. Please no. 2. Just impossible. The game was designed for each class to have a particular story. What you are proposing would require completely remaking the class missions, which will NEVER happen. Classes are locked due to the stories each one has. You can't play a Sith Warrior as part of the Republic because it would go against their entire storyline. You cannot play a Bounty Hunter working for the Republic because it would completely go against their third act in the game. Your ideas are never going to happen because of how the game is designed. Cross-server pvp which tries to match faction vs faction before same-faction is the only possible way for them to get out of this mess.
  15. Well it certainly sounded like you were saying nobody uses high shadows -- just wanted to make sure folks knew that's not the case. It all depends on your machine.
  16. That's what I keep ending up with. And i never seem to get lucky and be one of the four people with the premade... oh no, i'm on the team with folks in Columni who can't spot a healer if it's sitting on their heads!
  17. No it's quite accurate actually. Once people could just hope from one point to another, there was much less interaction between the two factions. Add to that the ability for druids to shift into flight form and get away and the whole thing became a joke. World pvp in WoW relied on the factions coming into contact and fighting -- the pogo stick action of flying mounts greatly minimized that.
  18. Tanks DO deal less damage. If a class is spec'd and geared to tank, they do a lot less damage than DPS. If they are set up for DPS, then they can't take the kind of damage you are talking about. Premades are restricted to 4 right now, so you're making up the "premades with four tanks and four healers" hogwash. A tank and healer working together are damned formidable -- but so are any two players. Two dps, synchronizing stuns and focusing targets are going to do serious damage. Two healers in unison are nigh indestructible without serious focus and control by the enemy. Cooperation and teamwork > random players every time, as it should be. The Guard mechanic is one of the few things making pvp interesting in the game, and since 1.2 it does that much less than before. If anything, tanks need to be more resilient against incoming damage (i mean those spec'd and geared to tank, whose damage output is atrocious).
  19. I've been thinking this ever since 1.2. As same-faction pvp becomes increasingly the norm across all WZs, this really needs to happen pronto!
  20. Please cite your source for this 400k number.
  21. They put too many changes into a single patch. Implementing the massive Expertise shift along with tons of class rebalancing was an awful idea. 1. It made testing difficult. When people saw strange numbers coming out, there was no way to know exactly what was to blame. The lack of transfer for most testers made it worse, since it was hard to get a lot of solid data about level 50 pvp in 1.2 during testing (it was there, just not as much as there should've been for such a large change.) 2. As players, the changes have felt massive. Even small nerfs/buffs/balances have been exaggerated because they occurred with the Expertise overhaul. People always hate being nerfed and seeing others buffed -- but when that is compounded with a major reworking of a vital pvp component, it's a recipe for disaster. Pulling Rated WZs was probably a good idea, but it was part of a larger problem. 1.2 Should've had the Expertise change OR extensive class balancing, NOT both. Class balancing should've been done in 1.2, with Expertise left as is and not inflated the way it was (let alone the changes to how it impacts dps/healing/etc). Then in 1.2.2, they could've adjusted Expertise if necessary, with extensive live play to see how the class changes functioned. This would've made the process smoother, and paved the way for excellent balance for Rated WZs. Just my two credits.
  22. As a level 50 Juggernaut, you have no idea what you are talking about. Go hit up the Jugg forums, read some guides, look at your spec and gear. Also, wait to 50 because some of the best stuff Juggs get is late game.
  23. What are you talking about? I got all the Event codex entries for it.
  24. No offense, but everything you say immediately invalidates your opinion on this subject. PvP without pvp gear, especially since 1.2, is absolutely a horrible idea. Even more so when you are learning how to run a character in pvp. At least get some recruit gear -- without Expertise you will die often and be absolutely useless. I'm not being mean, it's just how the game is designed at the moment. A full Immortal Jugg in pvp is something of a mixed bag. Played well and on the right team they are terrific -- unstoppable ball carriers, able to guard a node solo for a decent amount of time, and unkillable when paired up with a decent healer. Played poorly or on a team that is subpar, they suffer for it greatly. Tanks in pvp are team players and they live or die, in great part, based on how their team performs. As a tank in pvp you are not a direct dps threat against an enemy -- you ARE an absolute endurance threat that can make killing others into a real PitA. But without Expertise gear, you cannot be an effective tank in pvp, because you are just too squishy.
  25. Completely inaccurate. I have shadows set at high and have since launch. I was on a Full pop server with a queue and ran around on starter planets and the fleet with hundreds of people. I've never had an issue with it. Now, many MANY people do have graphics issues in the game due to shadows. I'm not denying that. But your first statement is just flat-out wrong. Plenty of people play with shadows on high, it just takes a good computer (and maybe some luck).
