  1. Just would like to note that I added a video of the Jedi Knight progression showing him fighting a Sith with a yellow saber that looks much better. (Why did they make the lightsabers look worse!! so frusterating )
  2. Awesome Idea! I loved the mandolarians in KOTOR
  3. Even though I play mainly republic, I agree with this post.
  4. Great post. It only shows that they have the proper colors in the BETA, but for some reason decided to make them how they are now. Is it so hard to ask to have regular sabers white core, and one color without all this layering of different colors??
  5. Hmm, It's odd that I share a totally different experience then you. Have you tried updating your graphics drivers? I notice that certain drivers can significantly reduce fps, so mabye if you update you will have less lag. There are some bugs, but nothing too game breaking that I encountered.
  6. I agree dude, I play for the exact reasons as you do. I love star wars, I love this game. I'm just suggesting something that could be implemented to improve the game a little. The combat is already great, with a little more polish it could look 1000x better. Also the only reason I said that many enemies share the same animations is actually a plus, as if they decided to improve enemy animations a little they could implement it across the board.
  7. Not trying to start a flame war here buddy, but you obviously didn't read my post. I didn't say WoW did those things , I just think that it's odd that droids topple over after you blast them into oblivion and cut them up with literal laser swords.. Is that so hard to understand? As for my actual WoW comparison, I said that when you land a hit in WoW the enemies bodies flinch or bleed or whatever. In TOR, they do not seem to react at all. Obviously when you mention WoW on these forums even though this game is obviously getting many features from it people like you start crying.
  8. One of the best posts I've seen on the forums. I can only see improvements like this in a major game expansion, but hopefully Bioware knows what we want.
  9. Even though almost all enemies in this game share the same animations, there is no animation to getting hit with a lightsaber. Lightsabers work like baseball bats in this game. Even WoW has animations for getting hit with a spell or weapon. Even though this game has much better graphics then WoW, it is a bit jarring to see lightsabers like this. Also, instead of exploding or falling apart when droids die, they just fall over. The executions when enemies have low health are cool and well done, its unfortunate that enemies don't react at all to be swung at before death.
  10. I understand your opinion, but I feel like all the colors should have uniform blade shapes. It just seems very odd to me that different colors mean different blade width's/layers or whatever.
  11. I totally agree. It's the same for me except for the yellow saber. The blade is so thick and odd looking compared to the blue which looks great. Its unfortunate.
  12. Definetly something great to put into the cartel market. $$$ Bioware!!
  13. Plus loading screens, plus a waste of time and total annoyance?
  14. One of my pet peeves about SWTOR has to do with the lightsaber colors. For blue, purple, and red the lightsaber seems fine. They are sleek and looks how it does in the movies. However, with green and yellow (and others) sabers the lightsaber appears to become much thicker and worse looking. They appear to be more layered and the green has a yellow color inside the blade. The difference causes me to not use my preference which would be yellow, but to instead go with the colors that make the blade look better. Here is the sleek looking blue lightsaber : http://www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/en/ss/gu_1-4/ss06-1600x900.jpg Here is the fat looking multi layered green saber: http://torwars.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/swtor-2011-12-14-23-30-06-331.jpg Ironically, a screenshot (probably from BETA) of what a green lightsaber should look like : http://images.wikia.com/swtor/images/7/75/Ss03_full.jpg The contrast between the sleek blue blade and the fat yellow one : http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQE4cwBunCt06CPOvLFFJ3jcEYgK6TLYBOHXI8Af5JsJtjnjRrMRClKqfXULw PERFECT orange saber from beta : http://imgur.com/DCXaF Consular class showing the perfect green blade in action! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEOcZTOrRqw Not a top of the list priority issue obviously, but I notice you guys like to make aesthetic improvements in the game in the big patches, so mabye this can be solved. As a roleplayer and big star wars fan, it bothered me to the point of creating a thread. Thanks for reading! Post thread creation additions: Many Beta testers have given feedback that a beta patch changed all of the lightsabers from their correct form to the new, worse form. Even the red and blue lightsabers were changed but they weren't made any thicker or had the color changed that much. To view all the lightsaber colors in their correct form, watch the class progression videos. (except for the consular video, as this was made post lightsaber change!!) This shows all of the lightsabers how they are supposed to look, with a white core and the color radiating around it. This also gives me hope as changing the colors back to this should be a quick fix as the models are already in the game! Edit: This thread has exceeded my expectations and it shows that I'm not the only one noticing this issue. Hopefully Bioware sees this! Keep bumping the thread if you support this to make sure Bioware knows what we want. :csw_yoda:Fix them, you should
  15. Trying to be as realistic as possible here, a lot of these lists seem very far fetched. 1) Re working of Ilum and outlaws den into a world pvp zones that work. 2) Being able to replay your class story at level 50 to be able to experience the story in a more cohesive manner as well as not having to start a new character to replay your story. 3) Hopefully in some sort of big expansion, awesome open world 3D space combat. This may seem to be impossible as it would take a ton of work but hopefully it can happen. also barber shop plz!!!
  16. Blasters and Lightsabers have varied sounds which is very cool. However, I do agree that lightsaber sounds are insanely low and the vehicle sounds are a bit lacking.
  17. Other then badly written stories which i disagree with, all the other reasons here are why this game causes me intense nerd pain. Although i enjoy playing it, it just isn't what i thought it was going to be. I hate the fleets (which by the way are also graphically glitched all over the place), choices just dont have any true consequences other then receiving in game mail... and of course no open world pvp. Heck, i would rather have the broken ilum then nothing at all. This game just really isnt immersive and although it has many positives it just falls short in too many important areas.
  18. 1. PVP was better before 1.2. More tactical, more survivablity. Now, even with good gear, I can drop in 5 seconds if targeted. Look at taugrim's critism for more detail. 2. Mob design : Killing monsters in this game is very repetitive and loses it's fun after a while. You either have a group of weak enemies (which are actually more fun to fight as you feel heroic and powerful) or you have 1 weak mob and a strong mob. The strong mob just stands their while you awkwardly swing your saber while he doesn't flinch, and takes forever to die. This is a very annoying part of the game and I avoid these strong mobs for this reason. The difficulty isn't even harder with the strong mob, it just makes the combat much more jarring. We were promised to be fighting loads of weaker enemies, but it turned out to be the same groups of mobs just standing around waiting to be killed. 3. No auto attack : at first I was excited about this, but in game it just makes combat appear more awkward. If you had auto attack, It would be easier to see more jedi v sith lightsaber clashing, like the movies. Here this happens only if you both hit your basic attack. It feels good when it does, but especially in PVP it happens very rarely. 4. The whole travel system, using your ship is cool but the way this whole complicated system is build is immersion breaking and jarring. It takes way to many steps to reach your destination, and I would enjoy this if it was done well, but It does not feel like real space travel as your ship gets to any destination in the same amount of time, then you sit through multiple load screens, go through phases, and keep having to click on elevators/shuttles. I like the idea of actually having to go through with star wars travel, but no one else is there in the spaceports ever and it just doesn't really work. *SPOILERS ABOUT FLASHPOINTS/OPERATIONS* 5. Storyline in operations. I really like the operations, don't get me wrong, but it would be great to see more epic star wars story like the malgus flashpoint. Malgus should have been a raid boss, as revan should have been. This would have been much more epic and more of a reason to join guilds and get people together. Flashpoints are great but it was kinda anti climactic. The revan and malgus cutscenes were however very epic. Overall I like this game and the direction it's going, but I felt like posting this so hopefully Bioware can see some of my concerns. edit - also, can we get a "loop music" option? Music in star wars is very important, but usually its not even on in this game.
  19. DPS characters, you should expect queues. The whole point is the fact you can still play the game while queuing rather then randomly spamming chat for 2 hours. I had 5-15 min queues today as a DPS vanguard on Jung Ma, and if you are on the new integrated servers I don't see how queues could be unbearably long anyway.
  20. 1.3 is quite an amazing patch. Although some may argue it should have been released with the game, I'm happy it's here now. It basically felt like the ultimate "polish patch". I thought the modding system was awesome at release but disappointed it wasn't actually viable at endgame. Also, searching for a group was tedious and I barely did any of the flashpoints. TOR has really come into its own now allowing players to fully customize characters with the complete modding system and the main systems such as group finder and ranked wz's are finally in. I feel like bioware can make more straight content now that the game feels complete. Post your good experiences with 1.3! Also the graphics look beautiful and the performance is much better ! As you can tell, I'm very happy with the game now and the direction its going.
  21. This is a problem for me too. None of my helmets change colors.
  22. Forget the impact on class performance - playing with a mechanic like this is clunky and not fun. Its an rng ability with 6 second cool down feels weird and annoying.
  23. It's ridiculous that our mirror class actually has an ammo advantage and a nonbuggy cell. Shouldnt this be easy to fix?
