  1. I'm more of a fan of the Original Trilogy duels so I'm good with saber combat as it is in this game.
  2. Considering that outfit is pretty much iconic by now, wouldn't it kind of undermine the point of it being "Satele's" outfit if you suddenly see hundreds of Jedi running around in it?
  3. Not disagreeing there, I'd greatly appreciate it if they moved it up the priority list just a little bit.
  4. Well, by now Bioware has said more than once that a Barbershop is coming, just, not any time soon.
  5. Well, Bioware should of course try and please the three core audiences of RP, PvE and PvP, but I don't particularly get pulled out of the experience because there aren't hundreds of people on the senate plaza when there's thousands of people flying by overhead. Plus you have to understand this is also probably done so that people can actually keep on playing. I'm sure we remember the days where framerates would just plummet whenever you tried to approach the centre of a fleet station simply because there were so many characters to render at once.
  6. I love how some of you guys want Bioware to both fix framerate issues AND flood Coruscant's plazas with extra NPCs which would mean thousands of extra polygons to render. That's pretty much wanting to have your cake and eating it too.
  7. Well to be fair, Star Wars has always been a universe full of "one terrain type" planets. So I don't mind it a lot but it would be neat, yeah. Especially if they'd do another Tatooine sized planet (or larger) it might be neat to see more than one or two terrain types. As was already pointed out, Taris was blown into next week, completely destroyed, that is the thing, nothing survived, I'm not sure where you're seeing these intact skyscrapers as most are just foundations that have tilted to dangerous levels and twisted girders that are hundreds of metres long. And anything that actually resembles an actual skyscraper invariably have severe structural damage to them. And probably wouldn't have any power running through them. Malak wasn't kidding when he said he wanted everything obliterated. You already get to , just how much more KotOR related do you want on Taris? Heck, personally I'm hoping future TOR content will contain fewer nods to KotOR as I'm getting tired of getting winknudged about something Revan did every couple of planets. Let TOR be its own entity dang it. Just how are Tatooine, Hoth, Coruscant, Ord Mantell, Tython, Ilum and all the others not "true" Star Wars planets when they've all played crucial roles in Star Wars history? And seriously, why places like Kashyyyk or Geonosis? I don't think Empire or Republic are currently too concerned about a forest planet full of giant furballs. Or a planet full of bugs that both factions find annoying at best. There's got to be a believable reason for the plot to go there. A thousand times no, Star Wars has always been around Jedi vs. Sith, Rebels vs. Empire, and so on. Not the Rebels, Empire and those guys. Not to mention that a third faction would require its own classes, its own starter planets, and a whole lot of other planets to have their 1-50 story on since they can't use a lot of the current planets since they've got a Republic and Imperial spaceport and quest hubs and outposts for just those, they'd literally have to completely remake planets like Alderaan and Tatooine just to accomodate a third faction. It'd also sharply increase the production costs of any future content as you'd need to design new armours on top of the existing two factions, hire eight new voice actors to voice the four neutral classes and they'll basically be voicing content non-stop as they'll have a whole lot of catching up to do (they're already voicing content not meant to be in the game until mid 2013), and basically keep on writing story for them as well. In short, it'd be a very expensive joke that probably won't bring in enough new players and subscriptions to justify it.
  8. You might be disappointed to know that hitting the gym won't make adults grow several inches in height. And there already is a cantina at the centre of the fleet station.
  9. At least don't let future events be tied to being sick so that people don't get roped into the event by accident.
  10. Well this'll keep me busy for a while. 1. Improve and fix static feel of NPCs and planets overall. Improve mob A.I. Rewriting AI is a drastic procedure and I can't imagine them doing that before 1.3, plus more movement in NPCs means more traffic between server and client, would increase lag. Smarter NPCs might undermine the feel of heroic combat. 2. Get rid of loading screens and introduce better transitional cutscenes/loading panels If you can think of a technically feasible way to play any video game that's not on a solid state medium that doesn't involve any loading screens at all, feel free to inform Bioware on how to do it. 3. Add PhysX effects to engine (see upcoming MMOs for reference) Would increase just how much TOR demands from your PC, thus making TOR less than playable for those who can now barely run it as is. 4. Add Minigames (e.g Pazaak, Podracing, 3D Chess) and fully functional Nar Shaddaa Casino Would definitely be neat, but again, that all would take quite a bit of time to model, code, develop, test and so on, so I can't possibly imagine this being done by 1.3 unless Bioware in secret started working on it right after TOR launched. 5. Improve engine performance / FPS issues / lags Can't say I'm suffering from any of those, and I'm not sure how you'd wish to combine improved FPS with added PhysX. 6. Merge servers and easy (free) transfers Some servers definitely need it, no questioning that. Problem is that if 1.3 or some other future content update causes a lot of people to return to the game and/or buy it that they'd suddenly have to fire up new servers again to avoid merged servers being full during peak hours. 7. Polish, polish, polish (graphics glitches, bugs, texture quality) Isn't this what they're doing with each and every patch they put out? Slowly but surely? 8. Watch Huttball LIVE in Cantinas and on ship - bet on Huttball results in Cantinas Would most likely increase lag dramatically you'd be near a monitor in a cantina that's streaming Huttball. Would also increase strain on the servers. 9. Special Minigame for Lightsaber users: (e.g. a small training ball on board of the ship, controlling quickevents to hit the ball) And nothing for blaster wielders? You'd get quite a bit of rage on the forums. 10. Pokeman style pet battles, interactivity for pets (feeding, taking for a walk, growing) If you want to play Pokémon... go play Pokémon. Or Mists of Pandaria. Can't say I see the appeal in this, plus it is nothing Bioware could have done in time for 1.3 within the current rate of updates that they've got going. 11. LFG Tool, Cross-server LFR tool for Raid grouping I wouldn't use it, but I can see how it's a QOL feature that people would enjoy. 12. Huttball Leagues (with team rankings) Would be neat, admittedly. 13. Using Alts as Companions Not exactly compatible with the current Companion system where each companion has a story and voice of their own. Plus I don't see any need for it. 14. Space sandbox, colonize and mine asteroids, space stations and competing forces No, no, no, a million times no. This is a story driven theme park MMO. Go play EvE Online if you want an unlimited space sandbox where you mine asteroids and fight over space stations. Stop trying to turn TOR into something it isn't down to its very core. 15. Proper off-rails PvP/PvE space combat No thanks, I like my Starfox mini-game. It's a pleasant little distraction and that's all it should ever be. 16. Ingame event calender Reading the forums can keep you informed all the same. 17. Set bounty on players Wouldn't that open up a whole new way of trolling, just setting a 10k bounty on anyone you don't like? 18. Intergalactic Radio shows Wouldn't be compatible with the current soundtrack, particularly in class story instances and flashpoints. This isn't Fallout New Vegas. Plus it'd require a metric ton of new voice acting to be recorded and new music to be recorded. Unnecessary and completely impossible to get done in two to three months time. 19. Collect DNA samples from animals/vegetation - clone your custom pet This isn't Jurassic Park, plus cloning doesn't appear to be as widespread in TOR's era. So I doubt everyone and their aunt should or could have access to that kind of tech. 20. Challenging quests with puzzles instead of grind only, less click x kill x Also not feasible by 1.3, and probably not even until 3.0 if they'd ever decide to do this, as it'd require a major overhaul of all existing content in the game. That said, might want to check out The Secret World, that will require you to use the little grey cells on a regular basis. 21. Day/Night/Weather cycles As I've explained a million times, the sun not moving is a stylistic decision that Bioware made way back in 2006, they're not going to change it now and frankly, I don't want them to. 22. Housing areas to build player settlements/guild cities (e.g. Tattooine or one big cross server planet) This, is, not, Galaxies. Get, over, it. Instanced housing is the way to go for this game, that said, let's first see what ship customisation will allow us to do once they add it to the game, shall we? 23. Reduce cost of Legacy unlocks to reasonable credit prices I can live with that suggestion.
  11. Not to mention it makes some of the more muttered lines a bit trickier to understand. I wouldn't mind it so much if all the dialogue and responses were recorded with this effect in mind but since they apparently weren't some lines become nearly incomprehensible when muttered/whispered through a helmet. So a toggle might be nice. That said, I'd still be happier if we could toggle helmets on or off altogether, some companions have delightfully expressive faces and it gets a bit tiresome to unequip them whenever a class story cutscene is about to start just in case they get to say something, which can result in also having to fight a boss with your companion missing a pretty important piece of gear. But this is getting discussed in various other topics.
  12. I don't feel we are excused to create inconsistent stories just because writers at DC Comics or George Lucas can't keep their stories consistent. If the chief of police is caught speeding it doesn't exactly mean we're all excused to start driving like maniacs.
  13. Bioware decided way back in 2005/2006 that TOR wouldn't use day/night cycles because they wanted each planet to have its own mood and feel to it, for example Korriban would have the sun hanging ominously over the Academy at all times, as if to represent the Emperor's ever watchful eye, keeping check on the proceedings on Korriban. It's explicitly stated as such in the "The Art and Making of The Old Republic" book. So considering that the decision still stands in 2012 I wouldn't expect it to change any time soon.
  14. I'll definitely agree with this, I'm avoiding the fleet stations and Tatooine to try and avoid having to take part in this event. And in the meantime I had to stop levelling my Bounty Hunter as I have to do Tatooine next, thus I can't build my legacy exp up to level 6 (how cunning, maybe it's a plan of theirs to minimise how many free months they have to hand out). But for future reference, I'd like to see quests and such related to future world events only be triggered when the user feels like it, not because he or she just happened to be nearby when an infected player had to sneeze.

Well that would be because they don't come with red skin, Maul simply tattood the skin of his face red & black.
  16. Tattoos are permanent. The only things that should be allowed to be changed should be (in my opinion) hairstyle and/or make-up. (And I know you can remove them with surgery, but seriously, who goes and gets tattoos removed and (re)added several times per month? Much less in their lifetime. Especially for Mirialans it'd make no sense to be able to change the tattoos when they place them for achieving certain things in life. Changing their tattoos would be like rewriting their personal history.
  17. Co-publishing it in fact. You can buy TSW using your existing Funcom account, thus, without need for an EA/Origin account or download. PHEW.
  18. Well not per say, in Team Fortress 2 you can capture the flag even if your flag is somewhere on an enemy's back or in the middle of the field (you also need to defend it for a solid minute before it returns back home), Valve did this promote a more aggressive playstyle and less turtling. For the most part it works.
  19. Erm... capture the flag usually involves running into an enemy base, grabbing the flag/droid/briefcase full of intelligence and lugging it back to your own base, to, you know, capture it. The closest we have so far is Huttball where a neutral flag spawns at the centre of the base and then you need to carry it to the opposite team's base. I wouldn't mind a CTF styled Warzone, they could indeed take the Team Fortress 2 route and have teams stealing a briefcase (or datapad/computer core/ship's black box) full of enemy secrets and dragging it back to your own base.
  20. You clearly haven't tried RPing yet. =p You can RP anywhere, with anyone. Sure not every location is ideal due to monsters spawning and whatever else, but hey, technically that went for SWG as well. I don't see how not being able to influence the world around you is a shortcoming. If anything it adds realism, you can't exactly throw down a house in the middle of a field just because you feel like it in the real world either. I've been RPing in what most would call "theme park" MMOs for over five years now, I can't really say the inability to influence the world ever got in the way of my fun.
  21. But why should these changes be implemented? First of all, it'd require extra voice work. As the NPCs need specific responses for the new classes doing the quest, and the classes themselves need to have lines voiced as well. Second: You'd have to think of some justification. Why would a Jedi let some scruffy Smuggler look for an ancient device they've no understanding off in a location they don't even know in the slightest. Or why should some Hutt enforcer let a Sith do his dirty work? They're both pretty quirky to say the least. Third: Why should you anyway? The rewards are usually specific for the classes the starter planet "belongs" to, and by the time you get there you can easily solo it anyway, so why should you have to be able to do another class' outdated group quest? The exp won't be that great, and you'll probably have found better equipment on the road already anyway.
  22. Alternatively, simply make it impossible to buff flagged players. I'm all for the idea of making it impossible to affect flagged players in any way if you're not flagged yourself. As I've also heard some horror stories of flagged players running into AoE damage effects of lone players from the opposite faction just so they could then attack them while they're already dealing with mobs.
  23. Oh I'm sure, but I'm fairly sure that is Bioware's reasoning behind it. As TF2 also consciously went for designs so that you could tell from any distance from a quick glance which class you were facing thanks to the weapon and the silhouette of the character.
  24. Can't say I'm impressed with the event. We already had 1.1 be all about Rakghouls. At this rate the Rakghouls are going to be to TOR what the Daleks are to Doctor Who; dull, boring, overused and uninspired.
  25. Funnily enough, when the slave attires (and other social clothes) were introduced to beta, both genders could buy and equip all of it regardless of gender. But they very quickly changed it so dresses and the slave outfits were female only, and the Dromund Kaas formal outfit would be male only. And to this day I'm not sure why, particularly the latter was a bit baffling.
