  1. Hello everyone and hope you're all enjoying your games. I've enjoyed being on SWTOR, but have found a problem, which seems to be driving me away. I've reduced my playtime down to perhaps an hour every other day. At one point, I was playing hours every day. I've leveled one character and working on leveling two more, but the thrill seems to be ebbing. I completely enjoyed the Class Quests and enjoy the leveling process. Once I reached level 50, suddenly, there wasn't much to do, Daily Quests or join a group and do Hardmodes, Operations or Heroics. Those are all well and good and I've reached social 8 on my main character, so you can see, I can be very social, if I desire to be........but. I prefer playing on my own. I enjoy crafting and have max'd out my stats, enjoy farming for my materials. Since the 1.2 release, I've found it harder and harder to find the materials I need to craft, which means I spend more time running around doing nothing, than I do crafting or enjoying the game. I would like to stay and continue the play, but I find myself in a dilemma.....I can't justify paying $15 monthly for 1 hour of play, once a day. It's to easy to find something cheaper to do with that hour. Are there any plans in the works to create more interesting things for solo players to do? The Class Quests were a highlight of every day, I anxiously antisipated signing in to do them. Now, I'm finding it harder and harder to find a reason to log on at all. Please tell me that SWTOR is working on something for the solo player and making their experience a more exciting one. Thanks for listening to my rant and have a wonderful day.
  2. I did read what others said to you and it was not the intent that anyone should be abused, this was simply for conversation and not for insults. As for associating yourself with me, not really, we may be using the same pic, but I would venture to say, that's where the similarities end. I don't know you and you don't know me. You may draw your own conclusion, but then so can I. The fact that everyone is so up at arms is interesting. If you felt personally attacked, it was not by me, as there were no references on my part, to anyone in particular, except perhaps SWTOR writers. If others attacked you, then the fault lies with their inability to debate without insulting others. This topic will always bring out positive and negative reactions regardless of where it's addressed. For that matter how it's addressed. This subject will always be a heated one, so be angry as you will.
  3. Google: A troll is someone who posts inflammatory messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response. Websters: A troll is a supernatural being in Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. If you go by the Google version, then yes, in many ways, my post was meant to sponsor discussion As to whether it was my primary reason...no, but it made the perfect opportunity to bring out the topic. The fact that you press the issue so much, would indicate to me, you've used this reason to avoid the conversation many times before. Which would lend itself to the preception that you avoid the conversation altogether regardless of how it's addressed. You're not alone, I've met many men, who either refuse or dismiss the topic, because their uncomfortable discussing it. Not a problem I expected this response from some men, as it's a usual defensive response. I don't take it personally, or do I take your attempts at name calling, it's a typical response. I wish you well
  4. PJ...my post was meant to spark debate, it was meant to be extreme. It was meant to get peoples passion up and see how they responded to something that is a very real issue. The fact that men find it offensive, just underscores how offensive women have found the issue since the beginning of time. I thank you for your participation
  5. I see my post has fostered quite a rousing conversation....fantastic It's gotten the subject of equality out there where it belongs. Although I doubt anyone is going to take this seriously, as I can tell from the conversation Ruei has tried very hard to express how important and how overlooked this subject is. As usual most males, have shot that down, mainly I would surmise because they chose not to recognize it. It doesn't better them, so why deal with it. My post was a bait, in an effort to bring out and important conversation and get people talking. It worked Regardless, the subjects out and whether you agree or disagree, Ruei's right, it can only be addressed and resolved if it's discussed and taken seriously. This has been a very interesting experiment, I thank you all for your insights and dialog. It was an experiment to see how the two sex's would respond to the subject of sexism. As expected most men deny the existence of it, their happy with what they call "Social Norm", but I'm happy to see there are those who do see the issue and that it must be addressed. SWTOR will not be the solution to that problem and was never really the issue, but it was a great way to open the conversation and see what sprang forth. I even managed to turn the nasty tone down, very nice, as we are adults here and discussing something, we personally may consider stupid, can be done without insulting or tearing someone down......wonderful. I do hope that SWTOR is listening though and I do hope that they do consider some of the things that were discussed here. These are things that would only serve to improve the game for everyone. Thanks again guys, it's been real

  7. I never said pressured, as I stated earlier, I made the choice not to take the hit on points, but do you feel that whole storeline should have been included? Was taking your companion to dinner or feeling uncomfortable about her previous actions/comments relevant to your storyline? Could you have continued your game without having that experience? The answer to this, of course, is yes...this experience made not impact on your game, except for positive/negative points. So why is it there????? Don't we have enough options for positive/negative points threw out the game w/o being made to feel uncomfortable about being alone with a companion? LOL I'll end my rant, as it's clear most of you enjoy this aspect....so be it.
  8. There's no personal problem here, but perhaps you're right, buying them a gift after turning them down would have solved the problem. I did not think of that solution, I thank you for the insight and will remember that for the future. But why are we put in a position of having to make that decision??? If you want to be personal w/a companion, then why not start a separate storyline for that, instead of making it a part of the main story.
  9. Bielduwyn, my comments are meant to be constructive, to those who do the writing. There's nothing Petty or Pitiful about it. As for women writers, I wasn't aware of that and that surprises me, as why isn't that more evident in the writing. Why aren't there more constructive roles for women characters, not speaking about NPC's. As for my particular incident where I had to make a choice, it was a companion conversation and all of the option, lead to "fade to black", except one. Orginally picking this one option, gave me negative points, which I felt wasn't fair. I did end the conversation and made the choice to pick one of the lesser "fade to black" choices in order to not get negative points. So, yes..I did make that decision and that was my free will, but I shouldn't have had to make that decision or face negative points. That's what I'm trying to say.... As far as kids seeing stronger stuff elsewhere...I never said that the exposure their getting from SWTOR was hardcore. I'm simply saying that this shouldn't even be an option for minors. So what if other sources give them more info, that's not the point, this is suppose to be a wholesome game for everyone. As for my speaking for all women, if you read my second post, I corrected myself to say that most women, not all. I do not speak to anyone other than myself, but I do understand the female nature. There are always exceptions to every rule and there are women who prefer the more primal nature...so be it, but again...that should be a choice that if chosen, should not result in a loss of affection or points. This forum is setup for people to express their opinions freely w/o fear of insult or attacks, yet that seems to be the opposite of reality. I'm glad I expressed my opinions, if for no other reason than to discover what SWTOR players are like. I see some positive here, but for the most part, I see negative. Whether you support my views or not, this is not a place for being rude or insulting and the fact that so many find it necessary to do so, would indicate a deep seeded animosity for opposition for any view that differs from your own. You might consider looking at that.
  10. Not all the content is sexism, yet enough of it is, that it is apparent this wasn't designed for women. As for what women would and wouldn't do....I don't think you're in a position to make that call, as you're not female. Yet, I would agree that my words are a generalization which should be clarified in that MOST women would not punish someone for making choices that steer away from sex. Those are choices that the individual should make and the writers shouldn't make them for us. We shouldn't be punished for trying to avoid them. I also see that you avoided any mention about promoting sex to minors.
  11. Your storylines are all geared towards men. Everything is tailored to being male. This is sexism in it's purest form. There are women who play these games and we deserve to be considered and treated as equals, not dismissed and made to submit to whatever whim you decide we should dance to. I've found that even when I try to avoid the sex (flirtng) or out right referral to having sex, it keeps coming back up. At one point, the only option I had was to pick one of the lesser evils to continue the game. The sad thing is....if we do try to avoid the sex references in the game, then we're punished with negative points. This would only have been designed by men, to satisfy their twisted pleasures, because a woman would never have dreamed of punching someone for not having sex or referring to sex in any situation. The sad thing is, you're promoting sex to minors, because remember, minors play this game to and they come across the same situations where their choices for affection points require them to either flirt or have sex. While this might not seem like a lot, to some parents, if they knew their kids were being made to make these choices, might think twice about getting them the game. Even the titles are geared to men....Women are referred to as Lord, rather than Ladies. I see slaves outfits and dancer outfits where women wear nearly nothing, yet I see nothing even closely related to that for men to wear. This suggests that the writers feel women should be made to subject themselves to degradating roles, but not men. Not quite sure where the writers plan to take this next, but I do suggest they start considering women has major players instead of just toys for their sick pleasures.
  12. I would like more points for the skill tree. I've changed the setup several times and paid lots to do so, but can never manage to get all the options I want. I'm not asking for every option, just a few more points to cover a few more options. Perhaps they could be given as a reward for legacy lvls or something like that, but I feel changes are needed.
  13. I don't know where this question belongs, I can't seem to find one that fits. Where do you farm Rubat Crystals?
  14. It's stupid and should be removed.
  15. Why not create the Captains cabin on board your own ship, as a rest area, where we would get the same double XP as we get in a cantena. Is not rest in your own quarters considered rest? LOL even if sometimes, there more than rest going on. It could be considered recreation, which will eventually lead to rest, so make the captains quarters a valid rest area.
