  1. As much as I would love to, 9pm EST = 2am GMT. Have fun all.
  2. Not even a week since the thread goes up, got that kill. Thanks Triamterene!
  3. "I guess that's how you carry a Domination game...holy crap". Yep, I'm gonna quote you on that one
  4. https://imgur.com/jItfvht SO close. We were behind until the final tick, and until the last few ill-advised suicide charges by the Republic pilots into the minefield at B, we were going to lose. Those last few points from ship deaths pushed our score over the line. Huge buzz from that one.
  5. Yeah, only noticed it recently as I levelled other characters first and my I respecced her into Serenity to do the solo flashpoints. No issues with Kinetic Combat stances etc
  6. Just noticed this problem, apologies if this is an old topic but I did hunt through a few pages of the forum. When my Shadow selects Force Technique, I seem to get the Assassin animation that shows lightning flashing along the blades of my lightsaber. When I enter combat, my Shadow carries out the animation I usually associate with selecting a technique but with no associated proc. Am I seeing things or are certain animations associated with the wrong events right now?
  7. Oh the shining glory that is the modern consumer, proving that it's not just accountants that know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
  8. Don't know about you guys, but over Xmas I had the 3 public holidays in the UK off along with a regularly scheduled rest day. Just 4 extra days out of the last month in which, barring weekends obviously, I wasn't in work. So where the hell were the devs? Money fights on a Caribbean beach? Tequila body shots in Koh Samui?
  9. Do some research before making blanket assumptions about people being bad. On republic side the first boss is bugged, the adds on the right side do not drop their shields. The only way to do this is to run around the outer edge and wait for the bosses shield to time out, which drops the non-timered ones on the adds. With all the random crap lying on the ground and the current lag-infested state of the game it's entirely possible to get stuck on terrain while doing this and get nailed by an orbital etc. Most sane people will drop rather than gamma-test content they paid for......
  10. I'm one of the few that loves the Consular story, especially Belsavis. Again, no spoilers, but if I could spend an entire day just playing Belsavis on a Consular, I'd be a happy bunny.
  11. Because http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CombatStilettos
  12. Except the Republic version *is* bugged, as 2 of the adds (specifically the ones on the right side as you go up the stairs) don't lose their shields. You have to run around the outside of the platform until the shield times out, then kill them while continuing to dodge the orbitals, and with all the crap lying around on the floor, jumping over it and possibly getting stuck gets old REALLY fast.
  13. Are they not droids and therefore immune to Awe/Intimidating Roar?
  14. Patch notes are up, they say it will now work for Republic characters. So either it was only bugged for Pubs, or it's bugged for both and they're only fixing it for Pubs. Conspiracy theories........GO!
  15. We're all at some point the weak link in a group, for a variety of reasons. My main raid group has a friend, who is the nicest, friendliest guy you could meet who is perfectly capable of laughing at himself and we love him dearly, but he is almost always the cause of any wipes that we have. There are times when we/I have to remind ourselves that yes, this is our FRIEND and as much as the wipe (because he accidentally hit his "walk" key and has no idea where it is on his new laptop to set his toon back to "run", causing us to fail a dps check) is an annoyance, we still need to treat him as a friend should be. You can't help your genetics, but the people around you CAN help their behaviour if they know what's going on. Communicate and a lot of people will simply accept you for who you are. Silence or quitting a group doesn't solve anything.
  16. I'd rather see some sort of statue-based memorial to OPOD. Poor little guy.
  17. Nope, all my 55s are showing different levels of rest xp, regardless of how much they've been played or whether parked on fleet or in a stronghold.
  18. Could do with rest xp getting fixed as well. Accrues at WILDLY different rates on what seems to be a class-by-class basis. My smugglers have barely touched the content, sitting at around half to 2/3 of a level after almost a week, my consulars had full rest xp within a couple of days. How in god's name can you break so many basic systems in one go?
  19. That's my approach in groups I know and trust, but with PUGS I want that 6s lock to ensure reflect runs its full course with every mob targetting me. If I just use reflect, odds are the gold fever dps will pull an elite off me before reflect finishes. The routine I use on that pull effectively means I'm hitting the 2 elites with hilt strike/stasis just as reflect wears off, meaning I've used a high threat stun on one and an incapacitating DoT on the other (with stasis mastery). I don't trust pugs not to frontload a ton of threat and waste the effect of saber reflect.
  20. For my guardian/jugg tanks it's a straight up leap in, AoE taunt for the 6s lock on aggro then pop reflect. Straight to the 2 normals for sweep/smash followed by guardian slash/crushing blow which usually finishes those 2 off. Hilt strike the elite to my right, turn and stasis the elite to my left/behind me. Bladestorm/scream on one of the 2 strongs, master strike the other strong. By that point the pull's all over bar mopping up the 2 elites and if any dps has pulled either elite off me by this point, they had gold fever and deserve a repair bill.
  21. It's been an interesting 6 weeks with 12x xp and dealing with the lazy blurts that show up in FPs. There seems to have been an influx of new players, levelling either their first toon or their first toon on a new server anyway, and the awful just keeps on rolling. The 20k assassin on Shadowlands in a mix of levels of gear including a GREEN lightsabre, who when told that the tank was not in the mood to carry him through HM Mando Raiders (in those exact words, prefaced with a "sorry"), quit the group and then resentfully whispered the tank that this would've been his 2nd run of the place that day. Call me a cynic but I parsed that as "another group carried me, why won't you?". As it turned out, the 31k merc that was the other dps had no idea what the Arsenal rotation should be and was heatlocking himself spamming Missile Blast over and over. Fortunately he was prepared to listen to advice and by the end of the run was putting out reasonable numbers and happy for the help. The 14k assassin tank in Cademimu on TRE with dps gear, no charge and a rating 46 (I think) enhancement with just endurance on it in his shield. When it was suggested he put on a charge, he chose Lightning. When Dark Charge was suggested, he switched and said "ok" before charging into the first group and melting inside 2 GCDs. He was then kicked from the group and fortunately a replacement was only a short time coming. The pair of sentinels from the same guild in HM Czerka labs whose dps output was so poor the first boss enraged at 41%. One of them had around 22k health, even with the Oricon starter gear, and would die from the electrified water, run back and repeatedly fail to grasp that leaping down only works when you jump from the 2nd level, not the top one. In the end, although I could heal the tank through the damage the boss was putting out, killing it just wasn't going to happen and both the tank and I, who I'd been training on multiple healers across multiple flashpoints, dropped group. The last thing I saw was a plaintive "how do we defeat it?" from the 22k sentinel. The shadow in Red Reaper on TRE who, on approaching the pull after the first lift, stealthed and walked toward the pack. I had hopes of a stealth cc, but no, Force in Balance and instant splat. I tried to pick up the group but with 7 strongs pounding on me and only 1 dps to reduce their numbers, a wipe ensued. We ran back, although the healer chose to remain dead and await a res. The shadow lurked near the remaining mobs in stealth and, as was inevitable, was spotted. This put us in combat and interrupted the res on the healer. At this point the healer chose to rageblast the group with words, all of them English but clearly chosen for their ability to generate confusion due to the lack of meaning when placed together. We managed to finish the run with Doc, but there were a few deaths on the packs around the central chasm and no archaeologist to open the shortcut. When warned about non-tanks pulling, the shadow said "I understand" but then did the same thing a few more times. Sigh. EV Hard Mode with a group consisting of one 40k Powertech tank who, from the moment the group formed to the moment we pulled the towers before the first boss, took 45 minutes to get to the instance due to a hamster-powered comp. No really, 45 minutes. I remained in-game, my guildie, who was the other healer, tabbed out and we chatted on vent. The dps comprised 1 30k sorc, 1 19k sniper and 3 16-18k sorcs. On the first missile phase on the Annihilation Droid I dropped my circle and noted one sorc a mile away and whose health was dropping rapidly. I pulled said sorc into the AOE, and despaired as said sorc backpedalled out of it in order to resume taking damage. I typed in raid chat "STAY IN THE AOE HEAL" only for the sorc to respond "don't rely on an aoe heal. learn your class". My somewhat acidic response was that the heal was appropriate to the mechanic and that the sorc should stop "spouting platitude and learn context". This set the tone for the rest of the run in which said sorc would participate. Multiple comments of "if you can't heal EV, uninstall" when not a single death had occurred. Repeated standing in bad and commenting about the lack of heals. Finally on Gharj, said sorc, a female twilek in as little clothing as could be managed, stayed in melee range of the boss during a transition and dropped to less than 3k health. I extricated, then hit an instacast Dark Heal which, incidentally, crit and filled around a third to half the sorcs healthbar. He commented "Heal instead of pull. Uninstall if you can't heal EV". At this point I told him to stop playing deliberately poorly as I was now convinced he was trolling. My guildie and I agreed on vent we would no longer heal this clown and over the next minute or two we were reduced to tears of laughter as the sorc underwent a very public meltdown in raid chat as his health remained low, finally culminating in a death after a punt back into lava and a veritable eruption of obscenity in raid chat. I joyfully admit to failing to be the bigger man here, and my guildie and I were certainly guilty of the whole "u mad?", "he maaaaaad" and "so mad" routine in Ops chat, but as I refused to let this bozo get to me, making a joke of it seemed the healthier way to go Right after the cave, angrysorc then deliberately ran through every kitty pack he could to cause a wipe and was promptly removed from the group. We finished the place with 7 men despite a wipe on Soa due to the Hamstertech not being able to kite Soa to the pillar and on the 2nd attempt it was done by me on pure healer threat.
  22. You'd think so, but yesterday I ran across a sentinel who was in Juyo form, watchman spec cos he was using Merciless Slash, but who didn't put a single DoT up on any mob, resulting in godawful DPS. When asked about this by myself (tanking) and the healer, he replied that he didn't use them cos DoTs are "weak". This was his only argument against using them. In the end, tired of the ignorance I lost my rag and told him to either "read a guide or spec combat", to which he replied I should play my own game, and promptly quit the group. Yeah, alright, I was a bit condescending with my final remark to him, but refusing to use the skills that the entire Watchman tree is built around? Baffling. Once he quit we got in a TK sage who, oddly enough, was quite happy to use TKW and Turbulence.
  23. Not sure of your setup, obviously it's healer with tank comp, but not sure exactly what type of dps you're doing. I've soloed HK on a juggernaut tank, mixed 168/174/180 gear with Jaesa in 168 gear and just burned him down asap before he could even engage the core. Blew my heroic moment and all 8 legacy powers. It helps that I have a full suite of toons so with 970 presence Jaesa hits like a truck, including a 168 hilt handed down from my sorc when she upgraded to 180. I've only done it once, cos Revan coughed up a stasis chamber as well and all I wanted were 2, so I might have got a lucky bug, I suppose, but the fight was over in 30 seconds with jugg tank/jaesa comp.
