  1. Throw some Eve and STO in there and it would be even better
  2. Yeah, we need something like that. Also space is such a great opportunity to expand upon the otherwise static ground game game with some player driven content. What I would love (and pay for): - Freeform space fighting and exploration - Space resources like asteroid materials, comet ice, exotic matter etc - Colonization of asteroids and player space stations - Keeping and managing a colony grants resource and/or cash income, other currency could also work - Colonies will get invaded by NPCs (PvE) or players (PvP), with PvP giving much more profit than PvE - Extensive variation and customization of space ships, a new branch of crafting That's just the things I can come up with now
  3. Well if TOR is to last a decade then they better implement some player driven end-game pretty darn soon. Running FPs and OPs over and over doesn't last very long before people give up.
  4. Yeah It would add so much depth, but I don't think BW will do it
  5. Just want to put it out there since the amount of negative threads might give the impression it's not. TOR is however very STATIC and I think it could use more DYNAMIC content (as in dynamic events (GW2, Rift), more customizable crafting (SWG), malleable real estate (SWG), territory conquest on land and space (EVE), player driven end game (SWG, EVE)). (and yes TSW and GW2 are not good enough for me, they will fall into their 100-300k niche soon after the hypetrain slows down)
  6. Good work BW, it took a while but nice to see the wheels rolling
  7. Hehe nice video BW, especially the "some restrictions apply" terms at the end
  8. Yeah, need to give some "reward" so people see all the stuff they have yet to do
  9. so yo dawg, it's clear you play more than most, if you are unwilling to roll alts then well, alts are part of the end-game in TOR. People like you are the reason BW don't want to give hard release info, you take it personally if BW have to change their schedule as "lying", give me a break. Most of the complainers seem to be PvPers, funny that. Now TOR certainly got some fixing to do, but D3 lol that "gem" will die off soon enough except for the hardcore, mind-numming clickfest gets old fast.
  10. Seen that series many years ago called VR-5 or something like that? Some chick puts on some glasses with screens in them which makes her mind enter the world like the matrix, that's what I want in 1.4.
  11. OP you sound like someone sitting on bad computer playing too much, TOR is not for hardcore folks, PvP is weak and it cost premium for voice. I think you will get what you seek in games like Tera, Aion, Rift or any of those grinder carrot-on-stick games. I for one is glad TOR is not one of those since I wouldn't play them even if they payed me.
  12. Why uninstall? Do you pay per MB or something?
  13. I'll resub when the server transfer or mergers are in place
  14. Yea from any kind of objective measurement such as financials TOR is a great success, despite the recent downturn in subs, the subjective criteria for various forum members migt not agree, not that it matters much really, the forums is a hotspot for whiners while the satisfied folks play the game.
  15. OMG this is great news! Just what the doctor(s?) ordered! I'm glad they chose super-server approach since it fixes alot of problems with few down sides.
  16. I'm interested in where you found that information? Because to me it looks like you pulled it out of thin air to create a negative mood and stir.
  17. Server mergers Extending end-game with sandbox content Make it so
  18. The expectations were too the moon and back, everything looks better when you imagine how it could be In all fairness tough I feel BW did meet most of it, except for end-game amount of content, PvP, the static way of many things, space, population consolidation, LFG tool. I think we can see TOR grow is BW adress those things in a hurry. We just don't have the information available to us to make any kind of qualified judgement on company policy.
  19. Looks promising, at least the future upates part where we see concept from space station or something. I find it highly ironic tough that the background chosen for the video, and from many other videos like this, show a space themed background with asteroids etc and space in TOR now is so painfully limited.
  20. Well since I'm feeling in the constructive corner today (and after getting a warning) I'll post my quick fix to TOR to make it all alright again: Server transfer/merge servers (is under way) Group finder (is under way) Add sandbox content to end-game FPs and raiding, diversity is the key and TOR is screaming for some Extend crew skills to be much more complex, sandbox-ish yeah yeah inspiration from SWG 3D space Guild based territory control Guild based territory control in 3D space, I want my space rock. Space rocks give asteroid resources. Make my space rock target for invasion by either players in PvP regions or NPCs (raid) in PvE regions Make it so. Do that and I, and many like me, will cheer BW as the second comming.
  21. It's sad really, I want TOR to succeed because it is a fun game, just suffering from some severe population density problems and a few end-game quirks. I know BW can do it, but something is causing them to take FOREVER to Make It So. If they put the metal to the pedal then I think much can be saved but time is of the essence.
  22. Server mergers will fix most of MY problems with TOR, but yeah longer term we need sandbox end-game content in addition to the current end-game content. Sandbox crafting and guild based territory conquest with real housing and/in 3D space is certainly my favourite ideas to it.
  23. I think the plan is to spend the rest of the budget on alcoholic beverage, controlled substances and such before calling it a day. Certainly looks that way from the latest BW activity. Yeah got my frank version of my post removed, lame report'ers
  24. You know I thought BW would work out the lacking parts, but I was wrong. They let the game breaking small population density go on and on, they barely shown themselves in the forums anymore, and no I don't count the mods and community reps. What the heck is wrong with you BW? We need 2 things to stabilize TOR: server transfer (prelude to mergers) LFG tool Is that really so hard to fix? I don't get it, why do you let TOR die like this?
