  1. Unfortunately, I have no idea who you are talking about and Google didn't help either. Can you maybe post a link or something? I'm finished with the Jedi Knight's storyline so I obviously got past that part of the game but I'm coming up blank.
  2. Yes, unfortunately. However, I ended up doing this fight today for the first time with a severely under geared T7. He's not really essential but at the same time, he doesn't contribute anything (except maybe as a punching bag) either.
  3. Just did this today. Took me about 5-6 tries before I realized that...
  4. I just want to quote this for truth. This is EXACTLY what is happening. Bioware isn't fixing the RNG, they are making the RNG less random. They are making it take into account previous rolls so people can't go on lucky or unlucky streaks. Currently, the PRNG (Pseudo) is just being random. It's not that there's really anything wrong with it other than it being generated by a computer. Computers are actually really bad at generating random numbers and getting better random numbers is a major topic of study in computer science. Anecdotally, my own experience with this seems to be that I have normal chances of winning on loot rolls and nearly zero percent chance of winning conversation rolls. I basically never see my character speak during group conversations. So yeah, that sucks but again, it's just the PRNG being random. Bioware making it less random is a good thing.
  5. I think he's just asking for some pics of your characters. It's easier to see how awesome your Sith is if we can, you know, see him I play a Guardian and it took a while, but I've finally found a look that I like with him. I'll see if I can get a screen shot up a bit later. All I can say is, the starting gear for the Guardian/Sentinel does leave a lot to be desired but eventually some some better looking stuff will start dropping for him.
  6. Yep, my Krannus fight was exactly as the OP described except I used his 2nd method the first time and yep, found him grayed out and unable to loot. Also, I wasn't aware of a timer for the bombs for a good 30 seconds after he was dead (was going through inventory) and then was like "oh s***, I've got to disable bombs too?"
  7. Maybe they could do this as a summon of sorts. Sort of like the heroic moment but maybe a separate cooldown ability. So you summon your level 50, he comes in, does a heap of damage and leaps out. Just a thought I had.
  8. Most of my annoyances are graphical glitches, rather than actual game play bugs (but not all of them): Guardian Slash - Sometimes the saber flies out of my hand at the conclusion of the swing. That looks really stupid and can actually throw off my timing for hitting the next skill because it seems to increase the animation time (I don't think it does, but it definitely throws me off). Animation stuttering is still going strong. This is particularly bad for Jedi Guardians. Kira almost NEVER puts away her lightsaber and when she does, sometimes it's on her belt while still lit. Additionally, she has to re-ignite her saber whenever she is summoned (any map transition, when using a speeder, etc.) and keep it ignited until you enter and exit combat, at which point she'll happily put it away on her belt... while still lit *SIGH* I shouldn't have to re-apply Guard to my companions after I get off my speeder. Every. Freaking. Time. Certain knockdown abilities that enemies use can cause you to get permanently knocked down or at least periodically knocked down. For instance, sometimes if I get knocked down, when I get back up, I can fight but then my character will just randomly fall down again (with the same "You are stunned" text coming up). This is really irritating. Saber throw sometimes never stops its animation. Generally this happens if I throw my saber at a MOB that is slightly above me in the terrain. This causes the saber to actually go through the terrain to get the target. Then when I leap to the enemy, I'll still be doing the saber throw animation for the entire battle. I can still fight like normal but I'll be constantly standing there with my hand out, waiting for my saber to come back to me even though it already has. If you wear a Jedi robe and ride the Lhosan speeder, prepare for your robe to be sticking out from underneath the speeder, instead of draped on top of the rear bumper like it should. It looks SO stupid. Sometimes during combat, my current target will randomly switch. This MAY be me accidentally clicking on a new target so I'm not quite ready to chalk this up to a bug yet but whether it's my stupidity or not, it's annoying Found a new jacket the other day that caused my character's goatee to vanish when I put it on. I think I read in the patch notes for 1.2 that this is fixed though. Thought that was pretty hilarious. When you have your lightsaber on your belt and you go up to a mission objective to destroy it, you will pull out your saber and destroy it. Then you will hold your lit saber like it is still on your belt. If you press Z, your character will grab his lit saber (which is already in his hand, mind you) and proceed to flip it out to a combat stance. It's basically like the game thinks you aren't holding your saber when you really are when you destroy an objective like this. Kira's helmet selection... oh wait, that's not a bug, just very, very poor art direction Again, most of these are more annoyances than anything else and I do really enjoy this game but I wish some of these would get cleaned up sooner rather than later.
  9. With all due respect, no amount of high res textures or seeing something in-game is going to change the fact that those armors just look ridiculous. It's not the resolution, it's the metal blades sticking out everywhere, the feathers, the horns. I assume the blades and horns don't just magically disappear when viewed in a higher resolution. I'm glad you are listening to us though because the current armor designs are just terrible.
  10. Here is why I don't usually do them: I don't like spamming for a group. I just don't like doing it. If someone else is spamming for a group, almost every time, I'm like 100000 miles away from where that heroic is and it would take me 30 minutes to get there I just don't feel like wasting people's time like that. If I'm around, I'll usually do it, but sometimes I just want to get on and knock a few quests off while I have time. I don't have time to get on every single day. In general, I disagree that Heroic 4 quests can be done with 3 people. Some of the earlier ones can be for sure (I did a Heroic 4 with 3 people on Taris but compared to the level you get said Heroic, I was somewhat overleveled for it) but I mostly find them to be difficult without the required classes. I freely admit that I'm not a min/maxer, nor am I a great player. I play for fun Additionally, on my server, the later planets tend to have very few people on them, making grouping difficult at best
  11. Wow... that's... terrible. Bioware, can we please get some decent looking gear in this game?
  12. The answer to this is yes, if you replay a class, you replay the class story, regardless of the Legacy system. Not sure how else they do this without a TON of work anyway.
  13. While I completely disagree with this anyway, you are on the right track with your last sentence. What exactly is a Jedi Guardian supposed to do if we can't pop more than one medpack per encounter? True, I don't USUALLY have to do that but I have had to occasionally during a particularly long fight. Unless you want to give all classes a self heal to compensate, nerfing the only way to heal yourself while soloing is not the answer. Most of the class quests are designed to be soloed and so we need medpacks. The cooldown on them was already insane anyway. Add to this fact that the Jedi Knight (tank class) doesn't get their healing companion until level 35ish... I just disagree with this change being made, especially for PvE. I can (almost) understand it for raiding but this is really just seems like a huge nerf to PvE people.
  14. Probably used it 10 times or so. Found it to be useful exactly one time. The other nine times, I died anyway. It's really not as good as advertised, especially with a 20 minute cooldown but used appropriately, it can have its uses.
  15. I've never had a fight with my Guardian that I couldn't beat myself. Some of them were definitely tougher than others but they were all completely doable. Probably the hardest fight I had was with the boss of Act 1 because I felt like I didn't have enough interrupts for him. Still took him out though. I don't want a change in difficulty.
  16. Yeah this thread is a little weird but I'll bite: Two things: first, on Voss for the Republic, there an area quest where you have to kill this guy and get something off him. Well, even around level 47ish, that guy is incredibly hard to kill. I had to pop all my cooldowns, including the 20 min companion one and I barely got him. After the fight, I noticed another player behind me was waiting so he could go at it. I watched the battle with him and noticed he was going to get ganked by this MOB so I leaped in and helped. Second, I was grouped with some people doing heroics on Tatootine. We got some roll for a really nice armor piece for T7. I don't use T7 personally but I generally roll greed on most things. This guy asked if he could roll need on it since he used T7 as his main tank, but the timer ran out and I won the roll. So I handed the item to him. I don't think it was that great since I didn't need it anyway but he was grateful *shrug*
  17. Wow, Bioware apparently didn't learn their lesson. Those armors are just as terrible as what we currently have. I'm pretty disappointed by the art direction in this game
  18. Guys, please calm down. While - yes - the OP is generalizing, it's actually a pretty valid assumption to make. There are countless threads with people complaining about how bad the armor is in this game. Check out all the general threads, then head over to the class specific threads to see more of the same. If you like it, good for you! I'm glad. I don't and based on the amount of threads that have popped up about it, I think I'm in the majority. Again, I could be wrong but I think there's a pretty loud cry against the armor in the game. To answer the OP, I think Bioware thinks they are solving this with the whole "rip mods out of end game gear" but the bigger problem in my eyes is that yes, end game gear is horrible but there really isn't ANY gear that looks good in the game. Some of it is serviceable, for sure, but a lot of it isn't good. Best thing to do to please everyone would be to simply add more armors in the game. Then those that like the current selections will be happy and those that don't can get different armor.
  19. This is true, but from a game play perspective, being constantly tossed around while not having any control over your character isn't a fun mechanic. It's just annoying. I don't want pushes and such to be removed from the game but maybe a buff that prevents you from being pushed again immediately? I don't know.
  20. So... as someone who used to live in a place that got down to 7 degrees (F) in the winter and had a moderate amount of snow fall... the weather isn't all in what you can see. I would love to have weather effects added to ALL planets and I would love Hoth to look a bit more forboding but here's the deal. I can imagine what that would feel like on that planet based on the landscape. Sure the sun is out but that doesn't mean it's warm by a long shot. You would step outside and immediately wish you hadn't. Your face would start burning from the cold. Your fingers would be numb in minutes. And that is how I felt at 7 F, imagine how much worse when you are always below zero! Anyway, I do agree that weather effects would be nice but don't assume it's warm because the sun is out. Hoth did a good job of reminding me where I used to live and it wasn't exactly a pleasant memory!
  21. I'll bite: Do you currently find that end game is too easy? - I haven't hit end game yet.. I'm level 48 on my Jedi Knight. I have a level 11 Inquisitor too that I plan to play after the Knight. Did you think the leveling was too quick? - 1 - 10 on the Inquisitor FLEW by but that might be because I played the Inquisitor during beta. 1 - 10 on the Knight were kind of a drag. Overall though, the leveling has felt about right. By doing all the side quests, I've never had to grind for exp. Have you cleared all end game content on at least easy mode? - Haven't reached end game yet. I'll let you know when I get there Would a more difficult lvling process have put you off from continuing to play? - I guess this depends on what you mean by "more difficult". If it meant that I had to grind - outside of quests - for exp, then yes. When I was young, I used to play games like Dragon Warrior for the NES and like them. These days, I have zero patience for grinding. So it was a grindfest to get to end game, then I wouldn't be playing the game. Is this your first MMO? - No... I played SWG for a few months after it came out (god, that was a HUGE grindfest) and I play STO on and off (which I do enjoy... when there is new content there to play through). That said, I'm not a huge MMO fan and played those games (and this one) because of the IP. I really like TOR but I probably wouldn't be playing it if it wasn't Star Wars simply because MMOs in general don't interest me that much.
  22. That's not entirely true. While you are correct in that the future is already set, you can still say that about putting the game's time period in the almost any other time period except for maybe far, FAR into the future. The problem is, we know that even after Luke is dead, the One Sith come back and try to take over the galaxy. We know what happens with that so either we have to set the game way past that or we get the same problem. As for the TOR time period, while we know how things eventually end up, we don't know how or why they do AND (most importantly) we can be a hero that is intimately involved in it. SWG set the game just after the Battle of Yavin and so we weren't allowed to do anything significant because we weren't the heroes. I wouldn't mind seeing a game set in the future rather than the past but you can't put a game like this in very many time periods before you get into the whole "Oh but Luke did that" or "Yoda was the one who is the hero there" or whatever.
  23. As a Guardian, having to re-apply Guard Shield to my companion after using my speeder. So irritating
  24. Umm... no. I'd rather have the exhaustion zone vs an invisible wall. Exhaustion zone at least isn't COMPLETELY immersion breaking That said, I wish they would remove the exhaustion zones surrounding the enemy bases (Anchorhead and Mos... whatever the Imperial one is). Just let us walk through that area if we chose to. I don't see a problem with that, especially since if I'm a Rep and I walk to the Imp base, I'm going to get gunned down pretty quickly by the level 50 champion guard droids surrounding it
