  1. Last I checked one of the highest viewed threads on the GW2's forums was complaints about the removal of the holy trinity. Some people are just that dense to not realize that the game was not meant for them....
  2. The current standard for the average MMO player: "I’d buy one, play for a month, hit level cap, get decent enough gear to do well in PvP and then get bored pretty soon after." You can talk about fixing the game all you want, people will come and go all the same.
  3. I don't get it, is the OP asking for tanking to just be to stand in a place, maybe move to another place, and spam a rotation to survive? Isn't that what the DPS class is for? If I was in the bosses shoe I'd be doing the same damn thing. why try to kill a tank when I can just stun/knock him and go for the squishies! You have to take control of the boss and say "No! I'm your problem whether you like it or not!"
  4. I've still consistently seen 2-3 fleet instances at peek time. Sometimes up to 30 instances in Denova. WZ pops are fast and as a healer I'm still getting insta pops for FP's. BH dailies are still a fight between 60 other people for the boxes. Ya, it's dying.
  5. Usually when people compare MMO prices costs vs games, they incorporate the amount of time played along with it. $180 = 3 AAA titles or 9 months of MMO action. I don't know about you but I could easily blow $180 on other games within a 9 month time span if I wasn't playing this game as often.
  6. Meh, I'd call it 33/33/33. Some complain because they honestly want to see their opinion put in action as an improvement. Some go to far and just come off as attention seekers. And others are just using left over game time to complain about how they never get what they wanted.
  7. idk, planting is a guaranteed win where kills could be questionable based on how the other teams healers are holding up. Question: Isn't it only the person with the killing blow that gets credit for the kill and only those who healed him get the secondary credit, all other DPS get an assist? Of did I miss something?
  8. A lot of experienced (and some times spoiled) MMO players have taken up this game. This has sadly lead to many people believing this game should be identical, if not far succeed, the game they left (or forced to leave in the case of Star Wars Galaxy) to play this. Believe me, it was actually much worse in the past (especially around patch 1.2) and things have been improving quiet nicely since then.
  9. Possible reasons: -Sniper gear contains more endurance? -Merc specced into the 9% Aim bonus? (unsure if sniper has an equivalent) - collected all the datacrons?
  10. I believe they are referring to the rewards that will be given once the game goes free to play. and yes, BW has announced that the rewards will be for both types attached to the same account so basically double the rewards. It was put in the FAQ's somewhere.
  11. The story from operations is still going strong, they got cut scenes between each of the last 3 bosses for the soon to be new operation, with possibly an ending (couldn't get past the stupid phase 2 of the last boss...). As was mentioned before, it would be incredibly hard for BW to release any new content to this game without it including some form of an engaging story attached to it.
  12. Not a fan of the mood facial expressions? New operation? Ability to trade boss drops for the first 2 hours? Resolve adjustment changes? Class changes in general? Heck, these right here alone can create a large amount of great game experiences for everyone (Role players/ Raiders/ PVPers/ Leveling). i'd say the only people they didn't work to improve the game for is crafters and those sandbox people who want their own custom housing.
  13. This is a half truth, Once a population reaches the size where a line begins to form 100% of the time for queues, then the ratio of the roles played will dictate queue times. The concept that queue times decrease from high populations comes from the idea that the difference in the roles selected becomes smaller as more players exist. Similar to flipping a coin 10 times vs 10 millions times. The outcome can be 4:6 ratio where the second will look more like 49.99:50.01 ratio. But the problem is that players are not selecting the roles randomly, in fact the majority just doesn't like to tank (and heal to a lesser degree). This makes the ratio between roles far less predictable and more likely out of balance no matter how many people are allowed to queue. By adding more people, your simply adding people waiting in line ahead of you vs the needed role joining up. This can equally improve and make things worse. The low pop servers will in fact receive huge gains but the larger populated servers will feel no difference in the end. BW most likely recognized this by looking at their internal data and comparing the server ratios on who plays what most often. Thus the best solution was to simply force low population servers into the larger ones allowing them the benefits without bringing in all the negative effects of the X-server system.
  14. Or cross server was not implemented because there is no merit in that it will some how magically fix the imbalance between healer/tanks and DPS players. If anything, it has a high potential to just make it worse.
  15. Unless they get the transfers working, I doubt it. They want it tested thoroughly to create a fine tuned and near impossible creation. If people are not able to test it in a full self customized BH/Campaign gear with complete augments, then it seems a bit useless to include it.
  16. "Shield generators can no longer be damaged by players." Ha...Haha....hahahaha.....haha.ha....ha....... I guess they got to rule out all possibilities where one person can wipe the raid.
  17. Don't stop moving! I have a strong threory (all signs I have tested point to this) is that when you are running, the server assumes you continue to run while it waits for the next packet of information for your location. As long as the server thinks you are running, it will place your character outside of the circle (may be on the wrong side but it adjusts it's information once your next packet is received so no harm is done). The problem that your getting is that the moment you stop moving and the server recognizes this, it will assume you are not moving until the next packet is received to say otherwise. If this packet is received after the tick from the placed circle occurs on the server side, it assumes you were standing in the circle (even if you moved out of it). It receives the packet that you moved but can not determine when you moved out of it so it assumes the worse and kills you. As long as you never give the server any indication that you stop moving, it will never make the assumption that you did not make it out of the circle in time. (Sorry DPS but there is no work around for you guys getting out of the Toth circles, it's just a hit or miss for you guys ) BW: Can we get incorporated time stamps or flags to get set for when the client recognizes we made it safely out of hazards for future raids please? TY
  18. Of course I read it, and he stated he got rid of anyone who had no excuse for being gone for 150+ days. I'm suggesting he get rid of those with excuses as well but to give them an in game mail with detailed information on how to get re-invited when (if) they do return. I also included the exclusion of a case where the guild literally has 400+ active members in which case other means would need to be sought (often involving small annoyances for all the members to do).
  19. lol, wow. Last time I replied in this thread was april 19th (you know, back when this topic was relevant). Characters get buffed through gear (which does not even require running EC anymore to obtain). This topic isn't even a talking point anymore since the operation is a joke if you obtain half a set of black hole comms thrown into Rakata/Columi shells.
  20. How many members to you often have active? Would it be to much of a challenge to throw people who take a leave, into another guild as a place holder? Or you could just send them an in game mail listing information on how they can get a re-invite once they return. Unless you are sitting at 400+ members active, cleaning out those that are away in an organized manor would be the best solution.
  21. They did add new champions consistently along with character updates that often drastically changed the way the game was played. Basically every update made the game feel like you were playing on a new map in it's self since the game play elements were new and different from what it was a month ago. Here on the other hand, we have bug fixes consistently but that changes very little as to the feel of gameplay. Everyone is still doing what they have been doing since 1.3 came out (aside from when they level an alt).
  22. What expiration date? if you want the perk legacy wide, then just make 8 characters and send them all 50k (or what ever amount of perks you plan to buy) to each of them. It's basically the same thing except you seem too lazy to want to have to mail the credits yourself. To make it legacy based simply makes it more expensive to those who play casual and don't want to farm up 400k for a perk they want for just 1 more character. They can instead farm up 400k and just get all the perks they want for that one character. How could the option of doing this be a negative? I'm pretty sure that if BW placed a poll to change the personal GTN for your ship to be character based at a value of 625,000 credits (vs the 5mil for all characters it is today) everyone would jump all over it just to have it for their mains with the best crafting abilities.
  23. 1. Dailies can give 300k per day (one round can pay off a good chunk of the personal perks on it's own) A week of dailies can pretty much cover everything for each alt. 2. Funds can be sent between characters so no one expects the level 5 character to farm the huge sum of credits for the perks. 3. It is not intended that you pick up each and every single perk for each character you make. It's intended to reward you for the type of play style you choose to work with. If you wish for all of the above then exp is probably not something you should be to concerned with anyways. 4. The perks are rather weak, the majority of exp comes from killing mobs and turning in quests (unless you intentionally attempt to level off other means). There is no bonus exp for killing mobs and the bonus for quests apply to 20% of the total quests involved with the game. 5. The truly useful legacy perks are the ones that you get for free (I think, it was a long time ago when I got them so correct me if I'm wrong). These are the class buffs that now apply to alts, and the heroic moments where you get to use a pre-determined ability from your main as a form of a big AoE attack.
  24. I know it's off topic but I can't help myself Considering that the Republic literally attempted Mass Genocide of the Sith, I would say that the Empire is mearly fighting for it's right to live and be free from racial persecution. Don't let all the "Peace" and "Tranquility" BS fool you, the Jedi order is nothing more then a well hidden hate machine bent on galactic conquest. I mean come on, they glow! That's like one step away from sparkling vampires and everyone agrees for the destruction of sparkling vampires! With that in mind, I'd say to come join the true freedom fighters. Warriors story line gets good towards the end while the Inquisitors is rather predictable the whole way through (with some amusing twists here and there). I found the warrior one easier to complete myself.
  25. My favorite part: "Forums – Our most important priority at the moment is to ensure that the game runs stably and flawlessly. So as to not create additional demand on our infrastructure and on our programming team, we made the decision not to open the forums until the initial mass influx of players has calmed down a bit." At least they learned one thing from Swtor's release...
