  1. Galactic Starfighter is not the space expansion I was hoping for, and definitely pales in comparison to Jump to Lightspeed-- greatly pales in comparison. But it's okay. Noting I could see many people sticking with for very long, though. But it's pretty much what I expected it to be after it was announced, just a lazy, half-assed attempt at adding space content. It's World of Tanks in space. Meh. But GS is the reason I canceled my subscription... again. I have Windows XP so I don't have any sound when I play GS, and it's no fun to play a game that's completely silent. This bug never should have went live-- and from what I've read the bug was on the test center for at least two weeks. I haven't really got to play much of GS since it launched because of this bug, so I canceled my subscription. The bug will get fixed sooner or later, sure, but I don't enjoy the rest of the game anymore-- I've been bored to tears with the ground game for many months-- so there's really no reason for me to stick around if I can't even play GS (with sound). The lack of PVE missions was another negative for me, and having only two combat zones is pretty pathetic. But I had never planned to stick with this game for more than a month, anyway, unless I was completely blown away by GS. I wasn't blown away, not even close.
  2. I'm running into the same problem: as soon as I start loading into a match, the sound pops and shuts off. I load out of the match, it pops again and turns back on. Happens in both PVP matches and in the tutorial. It's no much fun playing a game that's completely silent.
  3. I've gotta say, it's impressive how much more your first video feels like Star Wars than the entire game of SWTOR does. SWTOR has always been lacking something and, at least to me, it's never felt quite like Star Wars in many aspects. Your first video, though, really hits it well and feels like it's in the Star Wars setting.
  4. I would also like to see something come of marrying a companion instead of them just acting like I'm a stranger to them, but as has been stated a few times previously, I can't see it ever happening. The companion system (or more specifically, companion stories) seems to be just another one of the many systems Bioware implemented relatively half-assed and then completely forgot about. I wish they would actually continue or finish one of their game systems before implementing another one. We have so many different types of systems in the game now and none of them are finished, and most of them rarely see an update (if they ever do).
  5. I don't know you, or your husband, but I am sorry for your loss nonetheless. I'm sure this is a very difficult time, but do take care and take it easy. Good luck to you and the rest of your family.
  6. For me it's somewhere in between. While it's nice to have some new solo content and a new planet to explore, I find the storyline to be a little on the boring side at times, and I can't imagine running through Makeb on another character-- navigation in a nightmare! I'm also disappointed that it didn't really bring any new features to the game. I suppose it did bring the seeker droids and binoculars, but they still leave a little something to be desired. I wasn't expecting swoop racing or mini-games or anything like that, but I don't know... Not to mention that most of the armor rewards are simply recolors of existing armor we've had since the game launched, which makes quest rewards fairly boring... It's like Bioware couldn't be bothered to make any new armor models for an "expansion". I am a bit disappointed with this so-called expansion, but I'm not really surprised by its lack of new things, either.
  7. I would love to see Ryloth in this game. I think it could be pretty neat, with one half of the planet in constant day and the other half in constant night (and the lack of day/night cycles would actually make sense for this planet). There could also be some interesting content with Trandoshan slavers, the Republic trying to repel the slavers, while the Empire wants the profit or to get rid of of the slavers to make the Twi'leks their own slaves. Honestly, I think that there could be a lot done with Ryloth...
  8. Here's to hoping that we'll finally be able to change the color of lekku markings on Twi'lek characters. Yeah, it's not likely to happen, but I can hope...
  9. I must admit that I don't really understand the point of restricting dying lore sets... It doesn't really make much sense to me. Maybe it's just me, but the lore gear just looks like the gear that a certain character wore, it's not supposed to turn your character into that character. I mean, if a player equips the Jolee Bindo gear their character doesn't suddenly become Jolee Bindo, they're just dressed in an outfit that looks like the one Jolee Bindo wore. It's the same with the Revan gear-- your character does not become Revan when that outfit is equipped-- and all of the other lore gear. So, because the gear isn't turning your character into that character, why not allow the gear to be dyed? And I wouldn't even bring up the "breaking lore" thing. The lore is already broken-- players should not be running around wearing Revan's armor or Jolee Bindo's tunic. It's like a player in Star Wars Galaxies running around in Darth Vader's armor, it just doesn't make sense and breaks the lore. But there you have it, SWTOR has these outfits, so the lore is already broken. As for most of the cartel armor being restricted from dye... Honestly, it doesn't surprise me. This was done, no doubt, so Bioware could release recolors of the cartel armor and sell them, as they've been doing since the launch of the cartel market. Who's going to pay real money for a purple-colored Spymaster's Chestguard when they can dye one for free? Do I like it? No, I think all moddable armor should be able to be dyed... But no, it doesn't surprise me.
  10. Togruta would be interesting, though it's not one of my favorite species. Personally, I'd love to see Givin and Anomid as player species... But I know that will never happen...
  11. Personally, rather than holographic chairs (how would you sit on a hologram, anyway?) I'd like to see emotes that just let your character sit in the air. Sure, it would look silly if the player wasn't on a chair, but this way the players could "sit on" the chairs scattered throughout the planets. Either that or the character could pull out a very small stool, so when the player character isn't near a chair the stool would be visible, but if the player character was standing over a chair when they used the sit emote the stool would pretty much disappear into the chair and make it look like the character was sitting on it. If I remember right, Champions Online had something like this (I think it was CO, anyway). There were, I think, two or three different sit emotes, and each of them made the character basically sit in the air in different positions. This way you could place your character on a ledge, on a bench, a chair, or even stairs of a trash can, and it would look like the character was sitting on it. It worked fairly well considering that there was no direct way to interact with a chair and sit on it.
  12. I have a question... The toothpick... Why is that listed? Don't we already have that in-game? I presume it's a different color, but it's so small that it seems like it wouldn't be all that noticeable if it was a different color... Also, could we get a few landspeeders (and even a few more speederbikes)? The STAP-like vehicles are getting rather old and, in my opinion, don't feel very "Star Warsy". Not to mention they're completely impractical... I have one of the big blue and yellow landspeeders that was removed from the game months ago (I can't remember what it's called) on one of my characters and it amazes me how much more "Star Warsy" things feel when I'm jetting around with it... 'Course, I'd like to see new landspeeders and speederbikes added to the general vehicle vendors around the planets so they could start getting a little more common, but with the CM I know that wont happen...
  13. The legacy family tree, like others said, is pretty much useless. It serves no purpose, nothing happens with it, and other players can't even see it. There is no point to the family tree whatsoever other than lining up the characters in a tree how you want with no real point to it. It even serves no purpose in role play. The family tree has got to be the most useless system in the game-- or in any MMO that I can think of. The family tree sounded fairly interesting before it came out, but after it was released nothing ever happened with it. Bioware seemed to completely forget about it and ever since it has been completely ignored. It remains something that could have been interesting but was never fleshed out. Honestly, I wish Bioware would stop adding new systems and finish what they have started instead. They keep adding in one new system of some kind after another, but they always leave the systems that were introduced before unfinished. New things to do and new features are always nice, but they start to feel a little cheap or pointless when they're never actually finished...
  14. Finally! My Twi'lek racial dance move will have a purpose at last! So, can I bring all of my companions with me, and we could do a big group dance? I've got to do the Thriller dance with them!
  15. I suppose the experience differs from state-to-state but I've had nothing but problems with CenturyLink. I used to have Comcast and boy do I miss it... My connection with CenturyLink frequently cuts off for no clear reason, it just randomly cuts off. Sometimes it wont do this but it will often enough. Customer service has no idea what's going on and they don't have service people to come out and look at it (without paying a big fee, anyway) so I'm kind of on my own to figure out the problem when it happens. The speed itself isn't bad (though it may be a little slower than Comcast), but the service itself is crappy. Not to mention their customer service is some of the worse I've ever experienced... Not only is customer service not helpful at all and I feel like I've wasted my time whenever I call them, but would it kill them to actually have someone who spoke English?
  16. I saw that and the first thing I thought was "holy crap, that Heartless Pursuer Armor is incredibly ugly!" What a horrible choice of colors... >>;;
  17. So, does this mean we might actually start getting some information on this so-called "expansion" (that at the moment doesn't entirely seem like an expansion). While we've got a few glimpses into it, there's still a lot we don't know about, which I find to be a little uncomfortable. I'd really like to know more about what this "expansion" will feature, outside of a new planet and some quests. Any new game systems (racing, mini-games, etc., for example)? Character customization options? Something?
  18. I certainly hope so, but I can't think of much in the line of permanent solo content that has been added since launch. Well, I guess there have been a few daily quests added, I forgot about those... As boring as daily quests are, I guess it's better than nothing...
  19. I'm glad that we're finally getting the ability recustomize our characters, and from the sound of it with some more options, but I'm a bit annoyed that you'll need Cartel Coins for it. It seems like this should be done with credits, if even just for subscribers. I don't think that everything in the game should rely on Cartel Coins... Credits seem like they're getting more and more useless... But I suppose beggars can't be choosers, right? One thing I would like to know about the future, however, is if there will ever be any more solo content added to the game (besides Makeb)? Every update is always just more group content, and while I don't mind grouping up sometimes I don't want to feel like I'm forced to group up every single time I log into the game just to have a little bit of fun. I enjoy running off and doing things on my own sometimes, too, but besides the horribly boring space mini-game it doesn't seem like we've had any new solo content added since the game launches-- I'm not counting the occasional in-game events, I'm talking about permanent content. Will we ever see any more solo content? New solo quests and what-not? Something more than the boring daily quests where you keep doing the same exact thing each and every time you do it... every day?
  20. Greetings, Does anyone happen to have the Malevolent Interrogator Robes that they're looking to sell? I'm interested in buying just the robe (the chestpiece), but I haven't had much luck finding one as of yet.
  21. I would imagine so, but I'm not entirely certain myself. I'd like to know as well... Double EXP, plus the legacy class EXP bonus, and the consumable EXP bonuses... If they all stacked, and thus gave an even greater EXP increase, that would be really nice...
  22. While I too would like to be able to explore the Imperial planets with my Republic characters and vice-versa, I think there should be a little more of a story behind it. Personally, what I would like to see is these planets get "copied", so to speak, and then have quests for the opposing faction added to them. So, basically, they would appear as the same planets but would not have the low-level characters of the faction the "owns" the planet, it would be a higher-level planet... Perhaps for level 50 players? The story might revolve around spying on each other and trying to steal technology. The story could also be split between the planets: for example, on Korriban the Republic might be trying to stop the Empire from unearthing dangerous Sith relics to use in the war, and on Tython the Empire might "hire" players to unearth rare Jedi artifacts. Republic players on Dromund Kaas might be spying on the Empire or trying to stop the Empire from creating a new weapon, while Imperial players on Coruscant might be trying to aid an officer in infiltrating the senate and try to corrupt it from within (or it could also revolve around spying on the Republic, or something like that). I also think it would be interesting to get the classes involved with this so you need help from a certain class to get to the planet at first. For example, if you're a Knight or Consular you would need a Smuggler or Trooper player to take you to Dromund Kaas the first time; and likewise, a Smuggler or Trooper would need a Knight or Consular to take them to Korriban the first time. This would be the same for the Empire: seek an Agent or Bounty Hunter to go to Coruscant, or a Warrior or Inquisitor to go to Tython. After you go the first time with the correct class you would be able to travel to the planet again after that with no problem (or maybe you could only freely travel to the planet a certain number of times before you need the appropriate class to take you there again). What's more, you may not be able to travel directly to the planet.. What might be a little interesting is to put a space mission in it. To get onto the opposing faction's planet you might play a space mission where you have to fly through a blockade around the planet. You might have to complete this space mission each time you want to go to the planet or maybe it would just happen randomly but not every time. But I think something like this would be a good way to add in more quests and things to do for players without having to create entirely new planets... Bioware can simply use what they already have and just add new quests.
  23. While I appreciate these "state of the game" blogs to give us a little information, this one seems fairly pointless. Basically, it pretty much sums up to saying "we're doing stuff. We can't tell you what stuff, and you might not like the stuff, but we're working on stuff. But the game is great! You should love it. Now! Yay!" I'm not trying to be snide but... the lack of information is getting really, really old. Honestly, if you can't tell us something, than don't even bring it up. I don't care if you can't tell me something. If you can't say it than don't mention it. I only care about the information I can be told. The end-game content really has me worried. So far it just sounds like more operations, warzones, and things like that. What about players like me who don't enjoy PvP and don't always want to constantly group up? Yeah, this is an MMO so grouping with other players is something that happens, but I don't want to feel that I always have to be in a group to have anything fun to do end-game; I enjoy doing things by myself as well. Where's the single-player end-game content? What is there for people like me to do? Are there any plans for that, or is Bioware's answer to end-game simply endless groups and PvP? Are players like me, who sometimes want to tackle some content alone, simply stuck to lingering on the fleet station and aimlessly wandering around trying to find something to do?
  24. I have a hard time disagreeing with any of the OP's comments. I have to agree with pretty much everything. It's a good post, but I can't really see Bioware/EA taking any heed from it-- or any other post, for that matter. Both companies seem like they have lost all passion and inspiration of this game and no longer enjoy its existence, and they seem to only be trying to squeeze any money out of the players they can before the inevitable closing of the game. If a company doesn't act like they care about their own game I'm not sure how they expect players (their paying customers) to care about the game, either.
  25. Merry Christmas and happy Life Day to all.
