  1. And NPC/PC is a Non-Player Character Player Character. In other words this is an NPC that represents a PC that is in the game. Currently there are two player character classes who have reasons to come into direct conflict with one another. The Jedi Knight, and the Sith Warrior. The Warrior at this end of Chapter 3 has become the Emperor's Wraith and the Knight has presumably killed the Emperor, who was likely actually the Emperor's voice. As the Emperor's Wrath, the Knight should be at the top of Emperor's kill list at this point, given what we know about the Emeperor and his personality from the Revan Novel and the events in game. These two characters should be very easily motivated to come into conflict with one another directly even as part of a continuation of their class stories. Currently, they cannot in game because of one reason. The Species, Gender, Body Type, Appearance, Advanced Class, and Alignment (DS/LS) have to remain undefined, and not canonized, at least while people are still playing the game. They cannot canonize the player characters in the game currently because it would invalidate people's experiences playing the game. I mean how would you feel if in a cut-scene if you found out the Imperial Agent was completely different from how you played your Imperial Agent. There are some workarounds I've thought of though. 1. Random Variable/Variable NPCPCs This is simply an NPCPC who has had their appearance, species, gender, alignment, and advanced class determined by variable. Some of these variables could be best written as being determined randomly, such as Appearance or alignment. Now you can determine all of these randomly, or you can assign values. Pro: This lets you have quite a bit of freedom when writing scenarios. For Example: if the Imperial Agent (Being played by a player) where to go under cover as part of the class story and infiltrate Havoc Squadron under the Trooper's command (who is an NPCPC), you might as a story telling tool, make it so that the Trooper is the opposite gender of the Agent during the story. You might also want the two of them to get along really well to help foster that potential romance angle, so you assign the trooper a similar alignment to the Agent. Also you might randomize the species and apearence, or just the species and have a predetermined appearance for the Trooper, or just make the Trooper and the Agent the same species. Pro: This allows you to further define the characteristics of the characters in the game without actually defining who they are. So now you know that the Trooper and the Agent share the same alignment, but opposite gender of one another. But you still haven't defined what those genders are, or what their alignments are like. Continuing the example above: The Agent the Trooper can now potentially be star crossed lovers on opposite ends of a Galactic conflict whose relationship is strained by deceit and their allegiances to their respective governments. Con: This could lead to some confusion at first, as people might night recognize that the characters are characters they are generated by variables. Someone might play a continuation of their class story-line only to find that the randomly generated NPCPC is completely different from their version of that class when they actually played. Eventually as word of mouth and information spreads people would become aware though. 2. Legacy Variable NPCPCs + Random Variable/NPCPCs Instead of determining the values for each of other NPCPCs randomly, you instead link them to your Legacy. So now the characteristics of your NPCPC interactions are determined variables found in your versions of those characters in your Legacy. You can even include variables about the relationships between characters so that they end up the same as they are in your legacy tree. Of course not everyone is going to have one of each character class in their legacy. So before you can make this work with Legacy characters, you have to first make it work other variable characters. From a scripting perspective its nearly an identical process to determining the variables randomly, only in this case you can set the variables = the values of characters in your legacy. Pro: Validation of past playing experiences. Also leads in to increased depth of experience and pay off when these events happen. For Example: My main is Jindo Case, he's a level 50 Mercinary Bounty Hunter, and he is Lightside 5. Jindo's Dad is a Gunslinger named Mayor Case who is in his 50's, and has grey hair now, and has a Neutral alignment. So in a the future class story expansion Jindo is hired by the Empire to hunt down the Smuggler who has been causing the Empire problems. Jindo finally tracks his target down and realizes that the man he's been hunting is actually his old man. Is Jindo going to honor his contract and capture his own father for a few credits, or is he going to let his Dad escape, maybe even help him escape? Con: That's even more variables you have to track per character now! And what if someone has two or more of a character? You have to design an interface for that now and let people pick out which version of that character they want to be associated with their character's class story. Also: The above Pros and Cons for Random Variable/Variable NPCPCs still apply, its just that the con side is diminished somewhat.
  2. I'm not sure if your serious, but it you are, you could have picked a better forum to post this on because your as likely to get trolled as you are anything else. I'll try to give you some constructive advice. 1. Don't worry about your guild. Your guildmates, and everyone you play with all realize that the other people they play with in game have priorities and things that need to be done outside the game, and they typically wont be offended if you spend less time playing to take care of something else. 2. Budget your time. Schedule the amount of time you intend to spend playing the game for an entire week at a time. Then make sure your stick to your schedule. You still have a choice in how to budget your time after you schedule it. 3. Don't give up on things come up in your life just because your playing SW:TOR.

  5. I cleared Hard Mode Denova with a pugged tank in War Hero gear... It was challenging though, the biggest issue was threat generation on the part of the pugged tank. I've got a couple of Lethality Snipers who put up big DPS
  6. Actually, Incenerate Armor happens 18 seconds after the start of the phase. So what you do is you have someone who can taunt use a 15 second cooldown move at the start their dps rotation, then when the ability is off cooldown, you taunt the dps taunts the boss just in time to get the incenerate armor cast. Firebrand can't be taunted during Incenerate Armor, so the the dps takes soaks the incinerate armor and then the tank taunts back. This eliminates the tank swapping, which in my case allows the tanks to build better threat. One of my challenges as a Raid Leader is I've got 2 Lethality Snippers who can turn out 1500 dps wearing a mix of columi and Rakata gear so keeping them from pulling threat is a major issue.
  7. I think when future expansions of game come out we'll get new companions, and eventually we might get the option of killing some of our existing companions. Basically the design problem is they need to let you be able to quest normally, and questing involves you and your companion facing challenges together. So once new companions are introduced that fill the same roles as existing companions, you can remove/kill off your old companions.
  8. Actually the earliest Dark Lords of the Sith where not Sith/human hybreeds, but full on Dark Jedi who where exiled from the Republic. As such, they could be a full member of any given species in the Galaxy even generations after the Dark Jedi took over.

  11. You saved the Galaxy and That's not even counting all the other things you do to get there. The Jedi Knight and the Jedi Consular are not average Jedi Knights and Consulars. They are The Jedi Knight, and The Jedi Counsular. They are the next generation's heroes, destined to become the future leaders of their order.
  12. While Female exile is canon, canon Exile had both Mikal and Handmaden on her ship. I realize that this is impossible in Knights of the Old Republic 2, but it is canon non the less. Which means that all the conversations in the video could have happened in the canon storyline, and likely did happen, and are likely canon.
  13. As a matter of principal, after the PSN hack and other problems, I don't use credit cards for online purchases because I don't want my information stolen. So to pay for my star wars subscription I've always just purchased a new 2 months game card when my play time is up. If that is the case, would I count as an active subscriber to SW:TOR for the purposes of financial reporting, or not?
  14. We still have PVP on The Swiftsure. I can logged in and got my daily done in under an hour after 4 pops.
  15. The Bounty Hunter is a soldier of fortune story about amassing fame, glory, and money. The Bounty Hunter's companions are a sweetheart slicer, a devilish con-man, a noble warrior, an adorable midget, and a nasty thug. The central theme of much of the story is revenge.
  16. The legacy vendors sells some once you reach legacy 10 and 2nd set at 20. You can also a few of them as random drops.
  17. Well to answer your question, people play for a lot of reasons. Whither or not your stop along the way for challenges has to do with what your goals are. A lot of people only care about getting to max level as fast possible. Generally if people are concerned with leveling as fast as possible its because they plan on doing one of 2 things when reach level 50. 1. Endgame PVE: There are several Hard Mode flash-points and 3 operations and 4 tiers of gear at max level for PVE. As tough as your 4 person heroic quests and flash-points are at your current level, they aren't as big of a challenge as 8 or 16 man operations. 2. Endgame PVP, its a bit lacking right now, but once they get ranked warzones in it'll be a lot better. If either of these are your goal, then you tend to focus more on leveling as fast as possible
  18. Actually Tera launched a year ago in Korea. The game has been out for over a year now. That's why it has an LFG tool for the US players already. Everything that is currently in the Korean version of the game is in the US version. Tera did not launch with an LFG tool. Let me say this again. Tera is not the first MMO to launch with an LFG tool. The game's original player base had to wait for 8 months to get an LFG tool.
  19. Your burst gets even stronger once you get Thermal Detonator Thermal Detonator (4 second delay)/Incendiary Missile/Rail Shot/ Thermal Detonator Damage ~ 7000 damage. Keep your rotation going though. Continue alternating Unload, Power Shot, and Rail shot and your damage is killer. The main issue you have presently is the amount of heat your produce. You need to tallent shorter cooldowns on Thermal Sensor Override(TSO) to occasionally give you free incendiary missiles for better heat management. Also when it comes time to picking out your secondary stats its your advantage to stack crit until you end up with a 35% crit rating, and then stack lots of surge and power. That'll give you quicker access to TSO. Another advantage Pyro has over Arsenal is the tallent that gives us shorter TSO cooldowns also gives us shorter cooldowns on Kolto Overload. So instead of being able to use Kolto Overload once every 3 minutes, we can use it about once every minute and a half.
  20. My guild leader quit recently. When he left in vent we asked him why he was quitting the game. His answer was, "I love SW:TOR. I think its the best WOW expansion ever made, but I don't play WOW anymore."
  21. To get fully optimized stats and the set bonuses you need a mix of Armorings, Mods, and Enhancements from Campaign gear and from Black Hole Gear. It is possible to reverse engineer the Armorings and Mods if your a cybertech, and the enhancements if your are an Artificer. The Armorings, Mods, and Enhasemenmts that you learn though reverse engineering in those profession are BOE, meaning, that you after you learn them, you can produce them and sell them on the GTN. Very few people realize you can do this, and so far very few people have managed to capitalize on it, mainly because it is a big investment. And investment that comes with an 80% failure rate for each reverse engineering attempt. But if you succeed, man does it pay off! I've seen a RE'd crafted enhancement from the Campaign/Black Hole sets sell for well over 1,200,000 credits.
  22. The answer is, they are slowly giving you more of the story your asking for. There is a whole Storyline at level 50 to do on Ilum that will keep you busy for a few hours. Sure, its a daily questing zone, but there are story quests you can do for Ilum to learn what's going on there. The Belsavis daily area has it's own story and can keep you busy for a few hours. And you can also do the Black Hole storyline, which should keep you busy for an hour. Honestly, you can advance your character by a pretty significant amount by just doing dailies. Also Belsavis dailies in particular are excellent quests to take to max out affection with your companions so you can see all their story-lines too. If your going to exclude large amounts of the game's content then there is less to do at level 50. But there are some other fun things to do. Like rolling alts. Some of the storylines on the Empire side will probably surprise you. Honestly, the Imperial Agent of all classes is widely regarded as being the most well written class in the game, and you probably haven't even considered playing one.
