  1. I picked Merc (Pyro-spec). As a personal preference I enjoy being a ranged class. Plus the mobility and kiting/snaring is a definite plus. They are certainly more squishy than PT's, but if you use LOS to your advantage, you can put up some nice numbers and avoid most direct damage. Plus kiting Jedi Knights never gets old. For pvp, I usually duo with a healy operative. So with my dots/snares and his dot-heals, we can move around as much as we want without too much consequence. Plus if he gets in a bit of a bind, I can toss out an emergency heal if needed. I'm also rolling up a Powertech alt, so I may have a more solidified opinion once I level a bit more. But from what I've heard, both are fun. Just depends on your playstyle.
  2. This. I was irritated by her more than anything. Most of the dark-side decisions seemed pretty reasonable to me. More money or no loose ends. Last I checked, bounty hunting wasn't exactly an altruistic activity. I'm Dark Side 3, and I really can't think of anything I did that was particularly evil. Just doing my job. I had to switch over to Gault during my leveling since Mako disapproves of practically anything that would make you an efficient bounty hunter.
  3. Perhaps it's more prominent if you play an alien Imperial. Maybe when I get around to making an alt, I'll have the opportunity to test the waters. Still. I would have assumed that the Empire hierarchy would have stood more along the lines of: Force Users >Military >Humanoids >Non-humanoid creatures >Droids For an ideology that prides itself on always striving for power - they sure are limiting themselves by adopting the, "Aliens suck" party line.
  4. I have to admit, I wish they left out the whole racial superiority tidbit out of the Empire mentality. For one, it didn't seem quite as clearly defined as it could have been (Hell, take it all the way if you're going that route). It honestly felt like something that was thrown in last minute to club people over the head with the idea that Empire is Evil! In my story, as a bounty hunter (non-human), they never made any implications that I was inferior or had shown any particular disdain for me. Exception being Drommund Kaas, where one of the officers made some offhand remark, "You look like someone who belongs in a jungle, go kill these animals that's been terrorizing our planet!" Honestly, I couldn't tell whether that was a crack about my race, or the fact that I was a bounty hunter (Non-Imperial).
  5. If you've played the Imperial side, you'll hear Irish, Scottish accents too. Haven't heard a Welsh accent yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was thrown into the mix. So don't get your panties in a twist over it.
  6. To begin with, I didn't even realize that there was such a thing as an "Imperial" accent until one of my chat options had said something along the lines of, "You don't sound like a citizen of the Empire" that it finally dawned on me. Apparently in order to be classified as an Imperial, you needed to have some form of a British accent. Admittedly, that threw me into a bit of a loop. Granted I'm not a Star Wars know-all, and pretty much my only background knowledge of the Star Wars universe stems from the movies (yes, even the godawful prequels). But as far as I remember, accents ranged on both Republic and Empire. Qui-Gon and Obi Wan sure as hell didn't sound like John Wayne after all. So what's with the accents? Was there some kind of explanation in the canon that I'm completely oblivious to? Thoughts?
  7. Female, Zabrak, Body-3 (Amazon build) With all the heavy armor you wear, this body type suited me just fine. I think it makes sense for a BH to be a little on the beefy side. And for females, they don't look as grotesquely huge as the males. Athletic and tough.
  8. Speak for yourself. I'm enjoying the character story for the classes, and if romance options make the story engaging, then why the hell not? It's an MMO, and shockingly, people like different aspects of the game. If you wanna spend your time number crunching, then get a day job as a bureaucrat.
