  1. The names for the enhancements are: adept (crit), quick savant (alacrity) and initiative (accuracy). Personally I'd save my money though. Once you're command level 300, which is very easy to get to, you'll get plenty of 246 gear. And the 242 gear before that is not much worse. Unless you're a tank, buying mods/enh. off the gtn is a waste of money, imo.
  2. I'm a bit confused. Did you get the 1.3 increase in apm from looking at star parse or from "I managed to fit in an additional ability in my rotation"? If it's the latter, your rotation is most likely not gonna be exactly one minute long, so fitting an additional ability into your rotation wouldn't mean that your apm increases by 1.3 (= 1 gcd).
  3. You're not taking full advantage of the higher alacrity then. Changing from lower (1.4s) to higher (1.3s) alacrity tier should increase your apm by about 3. If you're only geting an increase of 1.3, you're wasting a lot of your higher alacrity and it's no wonder your parses aren't higher than before.
  4. What level is your char? In order to do it on sm you need to be at or above the apropriate level. For BoI it's probably lvl 50 (ish).
  5. You can easily do it solo now, no matter what class you play. They've nerfed it like 2 years ago (as you could have seen by reading the last post I wrote, 2 years ago ) If you can't do it, the problem sits in front of the computer, I'm afraid.
  6. Well yes, obviously... since what you linked was the stats for the official swtor chanel. If there is no dev-stream, there won't be any viewers. Or did you actually think that in the last 6 month not a single hour of swtor was streamed on twitch?
  7. If you were, where the training dummies were, you were on the wrong ship. The dummies are on the Telos (I think), but you need to go to carrick station (the big round thing). If you're still on the Telos, open your quicktravel and select carrick station. Once you're there, go to the combat section (in the south-west), there you can find the terminal with the h2-quests.
  8. This statment is false and/or missleading. First of all, lvl-sync puts you 2 levels above the max level for the planet, not 4 (and only if you're actually more than 2 levels above the planet). Second, lvl-sync doesn't give you any stats. It caps your primary (mastery/endurance) and secondary (power) stats at a certain level. If your stats are lower than the cap, lvl-sync will not boost your stats, it will simply do nothing. And while you might still be able to complete higher level planets (belsavis, voss, corellia) without any gear, thx to overpowered companions, it certainly will affect your performance (things take ages to kill when you're sporting a lvl 10 weapon on corellia, been there, done that )
  9. For my answer I'm gonna assume we're talking about pve. Tanks don't "need" alacrity, so no, your tanking experience will not suffer by not having it. In addition to that, alacrity works in "tiers", between 0 and 702-ish alacrity (don't know the exact number off the top of my head) you'll basically have little to no effect. A very small energy-regen. boost on non-warrior classes and a very small cd-reduction on your abilities (but not your dcd's). After 702-ish alacrity, you would get a cd-reduction on the global cooldown, which would actually make a difference in dps, but as a tank you probably won't have 700+ stats you could put into alacrity (unless you're only doing sm stuff which you could tank in dps gear anyway) If you have a spare augment and you're already happy with your shield/absorb-ratio, put it into crit, that will give you more of a benefit than alacrity.
  10. Actually, they're not bound to your class either. If you have a spare 242 headpiece on your mara, you can upgrade it to 248 with UC and get a Sorc headpiece (or any other class) and send it over using legacy gear.
  11. Use a melee companion and your circle-problem is fixed, simple as that In Vm I can do HS in about 10min as a stealth class. In MM the bosses take a bit longer, but the droids don't have stealth detection, so you only have to kill the bosses. And yes, red reaper is probably a solid choice as well. Taral V would also be a good one in vm, because you basically only have to kill 2 bosses and like one add group in the entire fp.
  12. Well, there aren't really any guidelines for ops loot. Every group has their own ruleset when it comes to loot. When we do a group f.e., whether it's a pug or full guild run, the loot is always gonna be free for all, since hardly anybody from our guild actually needs gear anymore. So you can roll "need" on every single item that drops, nobody cares. A lot of other groups have rules however, like "you're only allowed one need-roll" (might include mats or might not) or something. Or they put the loot to "master looter" and people can roll on stuff at the very end or after each boss. There are about as many different ways to do this as there are different groups. And generally speaking, I'm not sure that doing ops is the way to farm iso's. If I had to do it myself, I'd do hammer station (MM) solo on a stealth character. That would be 3 iso's in about 15-20min I guess. Or if MM-fp's are to hard you could also solo one on veteran mode, but I think only the endboss drops one in vm (not sure though, I hardly do vm-fps). But that still seems a more reliable way to get iso's than doing ops, where you might very well be spending 60-90min and walk away empty handed.
  13. I agree with most of your points, but not all of them, at least for the "new player" part of your title. 5) why would a new player want to speed level? for a lot of players the 1-50 story is the best part of the game. I would advise a new player to take his time playing the story. Endgame will come soon enough and it's really worth it to experience the full story (at least the original class story) at least once. 7) there is little point in going to the fleet and buy a stronghold as soon as you get to level 7. As long as you're still on the starter planet playing your first character, you won't need a stronghold at all, especially since you won't have any usefull decos for it and you defenitly won't have the credits to buy them (nor would it make sense to do so, considering that you'll get some of them for free with the lvl 15 quest). So why would you travel to the fleet and back to get something you won't be using untill you're supposed to go to the fleet via quest anyway? 11) it's basically the same point I made on point 5. If you're a new player, take your time exploring. Do some side-quests, if you feel like it. From a story point of view it makes little sense to skip them and come back to them later, it'll just confuse you about the time-line. And if you want to farm credits, doing dailies/heroics is a better way anyway.
  14. Well, it's not a useless stat in pve and there is only one set of gear for both pvp and pve. Funny enough though, the currently best way to gear for accuracy (meaning: wasting the least amount of stats) is 5 augs and a stim, so the 2 acc enh. need to be replaced in pve as well On the other hand, since you only need 6 pieces for the set-bonus, you can replace boots or gloves with a healer piece, so you don't need to replace the enh (unless you got your 248 gear from command-crates, of course).
  15. That is weird. I've done this FP several times with a comp, both in vet and mm and not once was the companion affected by the flames at the last boss (neither does he get shackels in mm). He could stand right under one of the engines and take zero damage from it, no putting him on passive needed. And the last time I did it (2 players + 2 comps in mm) was only like a week ago. Sure the pet actually died from the fire? Or did the sent die and the pet vanished because of that?
  16. You're not supposed to get gear from Vet-fp's as a level 70. You're supposed to get cxp-consumables. If you're in a group with people below lvl 70, you probably saw their loot, which you obviously couldn't take.
  17. Your SH-list is sorted by "visited last". If you go to the Tatooine-SH, the next time you open the SH-panel, Tatooine will be on the top of the first page. It's on the second page after the patch, because it starts with a "T" and the SH's are sorted alphabetically as long as you didn't visit them.
  18. For Vengeance you want high alacrity (at least for pve): Assuming 248 gear: Accuracy: 5x Aug + Stim (if you have 236/240 augs) Alacrity: 6x Enh + 5x Aug Crit: 4x Enh + 4x Aug + 2x Crystals
  19. Actually, there is a pretty easy way to not get Umbara/Chiss/Nathema but still getting the daily bonus: just remove some of your gear before you queue up, to make sure that your gear score is below 242. Once you got a pop, you can put the gear back on. EZ.
  20. Welcome back! 1) Yes, at a certain point in the story you'll lose access to your companions (temporarly). Some companions return rather quickly others have yet to return or even died in the story. However, there is a terminal you can get your companions back (in a non-story-related way). So if you're not to big on immersion and don't mind that maybe a "dead" companion is running around or crafting stuff for you, then you can feed them as many gifts as you want now and just get them back asap. If you do care about immersion, it'd probably be wiser to not invest to much now, except for non-story companions like HK-51,Treek or CM-Comps or any of the sub/event-rewards, although I don't think you'll have any of them if you stopped playing before 3.0. The influence level will not get reset when you lose access to them. Once you have them back (via story or the terminal) they'll have the same influence level as before. 2) the most likely answer is "because they don't know any better". People buy all kind of stupid things on the gtn, just because they are lazy/uninformed/don't read correctly.... Since the old mods would all be low level anyway and you don't actually need to buy any kind of gear for lowbies, it's most likely some people just buying the first thing that pops up when the type in "armoring" or something. The only thing I could imagine is, that these old mods maybe act weird with bolster (bolstering more than they should) in which case the buyers would most likely be pvp'ers, but I never heard of such a bug (except for low-lvl relics). Since I don't know, what type of content you like doing, I can only give some general advise: Defenitly play through SoR and Ziost before starting Kotfe/Kotet. If you feel a bit overwhelmed with all the new stuff in the game or dont really remember where you left off your character, it might also be a good idea to start a new character from level one. Leveling is much faster these days (and there will be a double xp event coming with the next patch) Don't worry about gear before you reach max level. If you like to do operations/pvp, don't worry about grinding cxp at max level, you won't really need cxp.
  21. You actually are wrong on this. There is a bonus for completing companion story arcs. For example, if you complete the story arc of a melee-tank (yeah, that isn't really a thing anymore, since every comp can tank now, but it still aplies for the bonuses) you gain an extra 1% accuracy on all your characters. If I recall it correctly, there are 5 types of companions (heal, m-tank, r-tank, m-dps, r-dps) To the OP: you don't need to care about influence of the comps, since their story arc is gated by your story progress, not their influence level.
  22. Yes, it's one piece per crate. Since you were talking about the bounty hunter set, you only need to farm the crates for Hylo Visz (Smuggled Goods), because those are the only ones that can drop bounty hunter gear. There are guides around for which heroics drop which crates (you can also see it in the mission reward), so maybe take a look at one of those.
  23. Yeah, it has been that way since they introduced SF with 4.0 almost 3 years ago. Since it has an easy workaround (just re-summon it after using an elevator) and people don't run SF's a lot anymore, it probably is very low on their priority list of bug-fixes. If they even remember there is a bug, that is... While it certainly is an annoying bug, I wouldn't expect a fix anytime soon.
  24. Are all of you at or above the required lvl for the flashpoint? In order to get the possibility to do a flashpoint in sm you (and all others if you want to do it as a group) need to be above a certain level. I don't know the exact level for the foundry, early 30's I assume. If the level isn't the problem, make sure that nobody has a conflicting mission of the same fp in their mission-log. You won't get the sm-option if somebody has a vm or mm mission of the same fp in his mission-log.
  25. You're making it sound like it would be almost impossible to make this fp's solo-able. Yet pretty much all of them already can be done solo in vm anyway. All they would need to do is making the kolto-thingies clickable even if you're alone and reduce the health/damage of mobs/bosses a bit. They don't need to add a gsi-droid, the last couple of sm fp's don't have a gsi-droid in sm either. There are very few fights that might need some kind of mechanic change in order to make it solo-friendly, for the rest a simple damage/health reduction will be enough, even for sm-fp players (no offense)
