  1. I would appreciate it if we could get/set up chat logs. I would even take being able to copy and paste the text directly from the chat window. I'm an RPer on Satele Shan. While RPs have been excruciatingly hard to get since the last server merge, when I do manage to find some, I like to save the conversations. I use those for future RPs, especially when we have character-developing interactions, so I can keep track of what has gone on in my character's life before. While I'll keep trying to RP. I would really appreciate a method of saving RPs that doesn't involve 60 to 100 screenshots that I have to then crop down to just the chat window. It's a lot of extra work because I don't have a better means of saving the text.
  2. I'm not a huge Arcann fan but I like this idea. I also like the idea of releasing companion stories as chapters. I like the chapter system, as I mentioned recently in one of my threads, and I would love to see if used going forward. However, what I really like about this idea is that it can technically be a pattern for exploring one-off stories that don't have to be shoe-horned into the main story. Initially, we didn't get our comps back because they were supposed to show up in the main story. See how long it took to work them all in? I feel like shoe-horning is an unfortunate story bottleneck. I think that a system of standalone stories combined with the main arc would really benefit the game and would allow it to really cash in on Bioware's strength in game storytelling. _____________ Also, as a side note. I really really want to see characters develop over time and grow. For example, I like watching how Lana grew as a leader between Shadow of Revan and the Zakuul Arc.
  3. It's fun when the LIs weigh in on stuff. It's usually quite sweet. I really liked the mails from when you disappear at the beginning of the timeskip. Yeah, I figured not everyone would like it, but it completely slipped my mind that that might include the group that likes to spacebar through cutscenes. That used to be a large chunk of people. As much as I would hate to delay the rollout of the mails, it's not helpful if it alienates part of the player base because the mail system doesn't support opting out of story mail. I imagine it would take a decent overhaul of the mail system to make that work if the idea were adopted. However, you might want to make a suggestion in the suggestion board for making an opt-out for story mail. I imagine you aren't alone in wanting that feature... regardless of whether or not the story mail system expands. Now that's a really interesting concept, and I would like that better than getting companion gifts. It would be awesome if the mails granted influence and the level of influence depended on how much the character liked your actions. It would also be a great tie in with that "X will remember this" feature of the chapters. I hope the chapter system gets used in the future as there were a lot of good features in there. Although they might need to be reworked to accommodate groups better. Also, I liked those two mails from the guy trying to talk to Vette too. I of course read the one he didn't want me to read first.
  4. Another thought would be to use follow up mails as a way of building upon story from past missions. It could provide "story" updates in tiny tidbits while the team is working on the next story beat without having to develop a full-fledge story arc for it. I would honestly log in to get little bits of story before I log in for the log in rewards, and I really loved it when I logged in after completing Spirit of Vengence. I had more than one story mail waiting for me. Among the stuff from old missions, I would love to hear about what the Black Sun is up to on Coruscant now that the Republic's power to control things is diminished or find out how Makeb's settlers are getting along. I put a lot of effort into twisting those Hutt's arms. It might even make a great way to throw a bunch of story threads out there for potential story development in the future. _______________________ A slightly different use would be to use it as a way of getting out the cool and interesting bits of story that got cut or didn't fit neatly into the story out to players, especially for past stories. I'm sure the writing team comes up with tons of stuff that we never see. This would be a great way to keep that stuff from going to waste. I think it would be great "filler" for that period between major story beats. I can't remember where it was covered, but I think Charles mentioned some of the story ideas that were originally going to go into the Zakuul arc. While some of that seems to be in the process of getting woven into the story moving forward, anything that can't be wedged in would make great follow up mails that would allow those ideas to stand alone but still get out. For example, instead of trying to wedge the dark thing at the heart of the Gravestone into a story going forward, aspects of its nature could be investigated by the companions that give the player updates on what they find out. Or we could learn more about the factions on Mek-Sha from our companions with eyes and ears on the rock. __________________________ That's a good point. I do like the variance. It's like being rewarded for exploring. You don't know what exactly you'll find. Also, it's like rewarding people who play their characters differently. All of my characters trend light side but not all of them make the same decisions because they are all unique in my headcannon with differing motivations. ______________________ Oh yeah, and I love reading our companions' thoughts on each other. It's fun when there is a bit of tension between them too like with Senya and Koth. Conflict drives story and there's a lot of conflict around us thus there's probably a lot of stories there too.
  5. For those that like the mails, do you have a preference for the kind of messages you get? ______________________ I kinda just like hearing what the other characters are up to regardless. But for the Alliance Leads, like Aygo and Sana-Rae, I like hearing the status updates. For characters we would likely interact with regularly but aren't always around, like Arn and Gnost-Dural, I like hearing about the problems they are fixing, It's always nice to not feel like you are alone in being the galactic maid. For the characters that might be in the background or fading into the background, like Satele, it's nice to hear from them when there's foreshadowing that they are relevant to. When I complete missions, it's fun to hear the epilogue through the thoughts of characters who I affected... Especially the ones that I have either helped or deliberately tripped up just to spite them. >.> From Companions, I like to hear their thoughts about places, missions, and events we experience together. Or even just hearing companions griping about being brought along or left behind. I also like the creative mails where someone has sliced in to get me a message, or Theron relaying to me messages about me that were sent to someone else, or other slightly less straightforward mails. _____________________ While I imagine it would just be mail clutter to some, I kinda wish that we got like a mail a day from various characters as a lead up to the next story beat and a way of relaying the state of the galaxy. It would be great if we could get that as an opt-in system. For example, one day kaliyo is updating on how she is terrorizing the galaxy, another day Hylo is explaining how the Alliance is fending off raiders and suggests maybe wiping them out, another day Lana is giving an update on a growing threat connected to the raiders, another day Aygo gives a further update on the threat and suggests that you turn Kaliyo lose on harassing them to get her out of his hair, then the next story beat is around the raiders. (Just an example, I know that Kaliyo is a variable companion)
  6. Yeah, I admit that I often wished that they hung around but I understand that chews up space. I hadn't thought to screenshot them though.
  7. Ok, I don't really have a dog in this fight since I stay pubside, but I googled him anyway. Maybe he will become the first Zeltron companion?
  8. I really like the follow-up mails that we get from people like Jekiah and Arn following the story run of Spirit of Vengence. I really like these details because it helps to flesh out the story and give the impression that the galaxy doesn't stop until the player comes around to do stuff. I know that we can only get so much story through cut scenes with full voice acting, so I like this as a nice supplement. While I can see not everyone wanting this, it would be cool if people like me could opt into a system where we get more mail updates from our companions, especially post KOTFE since we have so many potential stories to explore. I also imagine some people would want a lot more communications from their love interests. Either way, I don't mind reading and I love the mini stories we get out of mail! More please.
  9. I would like it if the collections window was expanded to support cartel market stronghold decorations and allowed us to purchase copies of decorations we've unlocked up to our decoration cap. I imagine it as working like donating decorations to the guild. We pay cartel coins or credits to get an initial copy of a decoration. We pay cartel coins or a large sum of credits to unlock decorations we like in collections. We pay cartel coins or credits, similar to guild donation, to get additional copies of the decoration as long as we haven't hit the decoration cap. I believe this would address a few problems. take care of decoration shortages. serve as an additional revenue source for those that use cartel coins pull a lot of credits out of circulation and help reduce inflation. help reduce the cost of decorations on the GTN which helps to drive inflation encourage players to spend more time acquiring new decorations that they may not have bought due to shortage concerns. Make decorating personal strongholds a lot more fun.
  10. OK I just updated my steam launcher and was able to get in. This is by no means a fix and I hate to suggest anything that results in a new install, but the workaround might be using the steam launcher. I have had fewer problems with it. edit: Or not.. However, it has been acknowledged by the community team at least.
  11. Are you using the original launcher or the steam one? The original stopped patching correctly for me a few updates ago but the steam one Still worked for me as of Monday. I haven't had a chance to update it with Tuesday's patch.
  12. While I don't want to disparage the effort put into the decoration, I feel like I wasted some prosperity tokens. It costs 2,250 tokens to buy the decoration,. I feel like it would have been better to just pay 1500 tokens for just the chef's hat and try putting it on Bowdaar. Bowdaar even comes with a few extra bells and whistles compared to the Wookie from the disguise. Next year, can he get an apron and pan at least?
  13. I'm not sure what causes it to be unlocked but the first story mission seems to be coming from Gaboorga and it sends you to Rishi. I ended up getting stuck due to the quirks of how they implemented certain clickable objectives.
  14. I haven't been impacted by this bug but I still appreciate the look behind the scenes. Thanks for taking the time to share it.
  15. I like the idea of regular clothes. I would be happy if we could even get sets based on the clothes worn by NPCs in places like Iziz City and Zakuul's Spires. Incidentally, those happen to be unique combinations made from pieces of existing armor, some of which are not available to players without the extra armoring, patches, belts, dohickeys, etc.
  16. Ok thanks, It would be nice if this info could be available on their launcher or something. Some centralized place you have to pass on your way into the game. I have a tendency not to check twitter due to how often it has not had the information I needed.
  17. It appears to be down for me again.
  18. Ok, I've done two separate days on the PTS with the feast and I really enjoyed today's session. I've got a variety of opinions and requests, so I will try to break it up with spoiler tags. I'll answer the requested questions first and give my other thoughts after that. _______________________________________ Main Feedback Answers Cooking Cantina Rush Prep Work _________________________________ Cantina Rush Additional Thoughts Cooking Additional Thoughts Prep Work Additional Thoughts Feast of Prosperity Token Vendor Thoughts on Additional Rewards Other Miscellaneous Feedback Pictures of Things I Would Like to See Made Available as Rewards
  19. Yeah, unfortunately, I can't always just try again tomorrow.
  20. The server keeps appearing as unavailable to me after bothering to patch. I suspect there is another patch issue but for all intents and purposes, the PTS is down for me. I was going to post my feast of prosperity feedback after I had had a second day to test the missions.
  21. The OP may be referring to the bug where the chat box just eats your next post instead of actually sending it to the chat. It can be really annoying and has been around for years.
  22. Given that the PvP part of the community has had a long-standing problem with some players not knowing when to stop fighting with other players and how to behave like adults, this seems like a problem that, at most, requires PvP instance specific mechanics. I feel like anywhere else, people should be able to shut down terms of service breaking gen chat takeovers. I personally would not want to see this feature rolled back in places where there are far fewer PvPers to abuse it. Gen Chat has been so much more reasonable since this feature changed. It makes the game easier to live with.
  23. I think it would be a cool idea if Huttbreaker's trade house was used for an auction-type event that allowed players to pay credits directly for harder to get items such as world drops, cartel items, rep tokens, and items from other events. I think it would be a fun credit sink and would also let players trade credits for some nice things. Ideally, Huttbreaker's items would cycle regularly throughout the event and maybe there could be missions and mini games interspersed. I would think that a custom instance of her compound would be helpful so that not too many players are all squeezed into the area at once, and it would be nice if the various displays actually showed the items currently up for auction with terminals for buying.
  24. Also, now that I think about it. Everyone agrees to the terms of service to play this game which always includes avoidance of certain kinds of behavior and speech. You can't agree to abide by the rules then claim freedom to do what you want later. Playing the game constitutes a continued acceptance of those terms and agreement to abide by them. That's why you get it before the game is downloaded.
