  1. Sorry I thought you were trolling when you mentioned 1v1's being difficult with double camo. I agree that mara's could use some help in 7.0 but if you were struggling in 6.0 there are other factors at play.

Well if we're being fair there was also a talent (if I'm remembering correctly) that reduced incoming force/tech damage by something like 75% for the duration, which is kinda hard to justify looking back on it. That being said, I don't think bringing back the OG obfuscate would be a terrible thing but maras aren't exactly the only class in a less than stellar spot since 7.0.
  4. A year or two ago even the most tryhard regstars wouldn't have had the audacity to suggest allowing 8 man premades in regs. It honestly seems like bioware is actively trying to to kill pvp. /2 cents

  6. I really do not want to see ToR damage added back into force lightning. I tend to agree that madness needs some of that lost dps back (especially if we're talking about correcting our selfheals) but mindless FL spam simply isn't fun for anyone, and I'd prefer to see that damage returned to literally anything else in madness' toolkit.
  7. Honestly I think the (7.X) cleave meta has gotten a little out of hand in general, but that's a different discussion. I absolutely agree with you about the healing though.
  8. This would be a pretty fair trade off. I don't know about the demolish buff though. Killing fields probably doesn't need that extra damage, I'd rather see a lightning strike buff tbh.
  9. Talk about broad strokes. Ya'll know that pretty much all of the pvp content creators on youtube are ranked players right? They're literally taking time out of their day to make guides and try to improve the quality of pvp, but hey, screw those guys too amirite? The way some of you guys are complaining you'd think a ranked player walked into your house and slapped your mother or something. Grow up.
  10. I think the level 73 and 80 talent choices really need to be looked at. I could do without pretty much all of the level 80 choices (brazen is decent, but should not be the only worthwhile pick at level 80 and would make more sense lower down in the talent tree) meanwhile literally all of the level 73 choices are essential to a mara's survivability. Leaving these two talent tiers as they are is a mistake, plain and simple.
  11. Seems pretty poorly implemented, the least they could have done is not apply the lockout until after the match has actually started. I'm not really crazy about the idea of being forced to play warzones that I don't enjoy and I don't see how leaving a match with over a minute left on the start timer is going to hurt anyone.
  12. Since there's there's already a thread regarding this tactical; After the opener is it better to use backstab on cooldown or hold off for volatile strike?
  13. I've heard this theory over and over since launch. No idea where it came from, but it seems to hold true in my experience.
  14. It's very nice to have some feed back in the pvp forums for a change. The current gearing system makes gearing all but impossible for people that log on to pvp for a couple hours each day. With the new bolster I'm essentially being punished in warzones because: A). I don't play 6 hours a day B). When I do play, all I feel like doing is pvp. The fact that I can't properly gear my toon(s) for pvp through pvp seems redundant.

  16. It's probably not coincidence, or lag for that matter; the likely issue is bioware's sh*tty engine choice. Force speed, leaps & teleports have a tendency to cause display issues when traversing a vertical slope. (E.G. ramps in hutball)

  18. It's not directly built into the taunt, only one discipline per AC (Hatred, APt, Vengance) gets an extra dcd on top of it.
  19. I hate to be the one to tell you, but your expectations for pvp in this game are far too high. Pvp in swtor is an afterthought, at best a minigame. There simply aren't enough people in queue, save for an hour or two during "primetime", for bioware to implement any kind of hardline matchmaking. Granted they could add some degree of soft matchmaking (basically just balancing team comps based on who's in queue as opposed to just randomly throwing teams together; if there aren't enough healers/tanks/premades to go around, suck it up and make the best of it.) without murdering queue times. Worst case scenario you're in the same spot you were in w/o matchmaking.. But something like that would actually require them to devote resources and man hours to pvp.
  20. I'm in the same boat. I tend to play after "prime-time" (10-12pm server time) and I don't think I've had more than 1 civil war or classic hutball pop since the update, it's pretty much just arenas and proving ground. I know they like to increase the pops for new warzones after release but I doubt that's the only contributing factor. Cross faction really needs to apply to all warzones. Cross faction for a single warzone, considering the massive faction imbalance on most (all) servers is just idiotic.

Honestly all it would take to "fix" this issue is a pop-up window, whenever you queue up for pvp with high-end pve gear, that gives players a general idea of what kind of gear to use (basically just telling the player that >190 rated pve gear is bad in warzones). I would imagine that would be the easiest solution and bw is all about easy fixes.. Of course there would still be plenty of players that either don't read it or simply don't care, so it wouldn't be perfect. Ideally, players should be bolstered based on the type of stats they have on their gear rather than rating. In other words, a player with 224 gear (lets say they're only stacking power/surge) would have the exact same stats as someone using level 20 power/surge focused gear. I really don't see any reason to penalize pve players so harshly for using endgame gear without at least providing some kind of ingame bolster tutorial.

  23. I agree 100%.. Nerf ops. Edit: Can't forget scoundrels, nerf those sneaky SOB's to hell. Everything else is fine.
  24. I would say rage jugs are slightly more suited for regs, fury maras are slightly better in a solo/team ranked environment. That's just my 2 cents. At the end of the day I would simply recommend playing the class you enjoy the most, both specs are pretty solid so you can't really go wrong either way.
