  1. Yeah. Subscribers had a week of early access to GSF, After trying the tutorial (no sound on Win XP on top of being completely useless) I ignored GSF for the next 7 years. Now i'm happily feeding kills to GSF veterans on 3 servers (sorry to everyone in my teams, but I am getting better, even killed another newb yesterday ) For a GS objective, I rather have "play 1 GSF match" than "kill 75 specific mobs on this planet". As for reroll not working: apparently there is a bug, where the new weekly/daily auto-completes when you already done its objectives (e.g. play 4 starfighter matches) but you don't get the GS points. So if you want to reroll, do it right after daily/weekly reset before doing anything else..
  2. But it was much better. For heroic travel it seems to be back to a 50:50 chance that the conquest winner banner will be stuck on the screen. While entering and logging in into strongholds still works properly most of the time, now the stronghold-name banner comes back everytime you switch to another "full screen UI" (hook editor, galaxy map) while in your stronghold. Each time with a good chance of getting stuck.
  3. They unlock in collections when you claim the items from your mail.
  4. Back in 2013, when this thread started, those bosses were max level and challenging to solo. As written in the posts above yours, the sand demon has a self-heal you need to interrupt. These days you might be able to burn it down before the second heal, otherwise you need another method of interrupting (stun/push/pull).
  5. It's a gift and a nice tradition. Those who don't want the pet can delete the mail and still get the double-xp and collection sales. I remember a prolonged maintenance where Eric posted codes for tauntaun and astromech pets here in the forums every couple minutes. Folks complained about codes being already used, not wanting a stupid pet, and already having those pets. So they stopped giving out the codes and never did such a thing again. Let's not ruin our May the 4th astromech. (This message was presented to you by the Circle of soon™ to be Nine: https://imgur.com/1PaYq7i)
  6. 6.2.1 finally fixed it: "The Stronghold Title and Conquest pop-ups will now properly fade over time." Sadly, in 6.3 the issue is back.
  7. Actually it's a different one. It has an antenna out, that makes it the first of its kind. I for one like my annual Astromech pet. Gotta get them all.
  8. Yes you can, pretty sure the limit when Strongholds were introduced was 5, although only 4 existed back then. We get them by going to a terminal and buying them. Some of us even have duplicate strongholds from the last server merges, and are still well over the cap (IIRC a player on Starforge could have 35 strongholds (7 strongholds on 5 servers that were merged) Edit:
  9. Swtor has two general types of equipment: Static items that have the appropriate stats for a certain level and will become obsolete eventually, and modifiable gear that can be upgraded by replacing the parts (ctrl+right click). All items from the cartel market are empty shells you need to put parts in. Gear modifications for leveling are sold in the supply sector of the fleet, and endgame parts are ripped out from endgame drops. For 6.0 endgame gear, "legendary" only means "item rating 300+". With the same modifications, all modifiable lightsabers have the same stats. Put a legendary hilt into that green level 8 lightsaber you got on Korriban, and it will become a legendary endgame weapon. So use a weapon you like visually, and when you get one with better stats, rip out the parts and install them into your trusty old weapon. For armor you should use the outfit-system for the looks, since the endgame-shells have a set bonus, but there you also get the set-bonus shell first, and then upgrade and later min-max the installed parts until you're BiS. As for crafting: you *can* make the endgame modifications (provided you get the rare and expensive materials), but usually it's not worth it to craft only for yourself. Dedicated crafters craft so much that they can include the occasional free item from a critical success into their GTN pricing. You can't beat their price when you have to buy the materials. On the other hand crafting or buying crafted items is just a shortcut to BiS. Except for the augments, you will get everything from crates or gear drops eventually.
  10. The main thing you can do yourself, is trying out a gaming VPN like Exitlag or WTFast. They have trial periods where they're either free for a few days or disconnect you regularly (like every 30min.) When they help, it's clearly something hat *could* be fixed by your ISP (if you could convince them to do so) but in the end, the larger a ISP, the less they (can) care about specific problems of a few customers, while smaller ISPs may be more customer oriented but have less leverage when the problem is outside their own network. A server side problem (every player would be affected) is as unlikely as a problem on your side (every online game would be affected). It's likely somewhere inbetween, so it would be interesting to find out where the lag spikes happen. The problem can be approached from both sides, and the closer it is to EA's ISP, the more they can do. For a traceroute press Win+R and type "cmd", and in the DOS prompt type tracert 159.153.72.252 for the EU servers. (159.153.92.28 for US) . When there are large or fluctuating pings on one server, this or the connection to the previous server is likely the culprit (3 timeouts (*) doesn't count, that usually just means the server is set to ignore pings). With these results you can contact your ISP's customer service or EA's Swtor Support page . If you post it publicly and have (i.e. pay for) a static IP, remove it from the <1ms hop(s). Otherwise, all the IPs reveal about you is your ISP and maybe a rough estimate of the region you live in, both are important for fixing routing problems.
  11. The highest tiers of Level 70 / MK-10 augments (Still perfectly fine outside Dxun or ranked PVP)
  12. Well, duh, you don't license a beloved IP with amazing worldbuilding just to use it to reskin a shooter. Of course you need story in that setting, but you also need to provide content beyond x hours of story if you want your players to stick around, and you need to communicate what kind of game it is. You know, let your audience find you. Wow players, disgruntled with how "casual" and repetitive Cataclysm and Pandaland had become, weren't exactly the core audience for this kind of MMO, neither were the SWG players who felt they lost their sandbox because of this. Yet those were a majority of the players at release that left soon after they skipped through the story. When neither Jim the hardcore MMO-veteran, nor Bob the obsessed Star Wars fan are liking this SW-MMO, why should I even try? While Swtor was struggling after release, many RPG fans who weren't averse to multiplayer games just wondered why they made an MMO instead of Kotor3 with Mass Effect graphics. A lot of us carried our money to Kickstarter to help fund old-school RPGs that promised to revive that old "BW spirit" that actually still was alive and kicking in this MMO. So yeah, the audience that was attracted by the game's marketing didn't appreciate the content, because "This type of MMO", the story-focused multiplayer CRPG with optional grouping, wasn't what they expected. For that initial audience, developing time and money were spent in all the wrong areas, while those who like that type of content were put off by what the term "MMO" used to stand for (massive group content or make-believe roleplay wrapped in a bland story).
  13. So... devs still pretending there is no issue, just like they did with the social bar?
  14. Yes please. And make it useful. Sort the amplifiers like in the potential amplifiers list.
  15. As the title says seems like the welcome window opens every day now, instead of once per week A bug or yet another fancy new UI feature? BTW: the bug where the social bar / welcome window regularly forgets it position and moves to the upper left corner is still not fixed.
  16. BW fixed the Conquest / Stronghold name banner not fading out. No longer having to run in circles after porting to my stronghold is almost worth the amplifier list. Also good that the conquest-leech guilds can no longer exploit newbies just to be able to watermark my screen with their broken conquest-winner banner
  17. With the amplifier window is now covering our chars on 1080p, I guess they concluded that the "character-puppet" needs to be larger, so we see the gear we're putting on.... BW could have revamped the character sheet, and moved the amplifiers to the place where the second stat window was, or simply made the current amplifiers a selection for the stat windows. We're used to BW asking for Feedback on the PTS and then blatantly ignoring, it, but this is next level. They didn't even bother to remove the "WIP" icon from the recalibration window. Also a bit early for an elaborate April Fool's joke.
  18. Thank you for testing it. The cooldown makes it useless for the event world bosses, but not persisting through death is mainly an issue for PVP, isn't it? Getting farmed and reinfected should be pretty rare, though. At least it can be used to cure the infected in our group, whether they like it or not. Still a better use for that Barnacle than giving it to Lokin.
  19. According to the tooltip it seems not to bind at all. So can it be given to alts or sold on the GTN even after using (just like reusable stims or the Czerka crate)? It is reusable, right?
  20. 1. Let us close the amplifier list 2. Sort it like the potential amplifier list, group the same type in categories, maybe even show us the sum of one type of amplifier in the category header.
  21. With the amplifier recalibration window open, there is a pink "WIP" icon in the top left corner. The character image in the new character sheet still does not show the proper gear colors, when "Unify Colors" is used in an outfit with a primary or secondary only dye module on the chest piece.
  22. He would be okay as a companion, sometimes a meat shield / bruiser is useful. But his introduction ruins it. Why is he even on board? If we not only let him live, but actually give him a ride off Belsavis, fine, but why didn't he leave in the first port to go back to his gang?
  23. Droid gear was removed in 4.0, and crew skills were revamped. Now all companions get general bonuses to all crew skills, and influence determines how high the companion's bonuses are. No more specialisations, at the same influence level, all companions have the same crew skill efficiency. (Except the animal companions from the CM, those can't craft or go on missions.)
  24. QOL addons would show you datacrons or resource nodes, maybe integrate the star-parse functionality. Why would encounters need to be adjusted? The great thing about Addons? UI customisation. All those annoying UI elements the dev team added recently? In ESO addons to customize or disable them, even improve them or fix bugs would have been available within days. ESO's last update broke inventory filtering so that when you opened a box in the inventory, the filter would be cleared. Very annoying. Addon to fix it was released on patch day. Here? After 7 years, next week's patch is finally supposed to fix the conquest-winner banner getting stuck on the screen. On the other hand, in ESO "disable addons" is the first response whenever performance issues and other things that might be client-side are reported. Great way to shut up the complainers in a game where you need addons for basic mmo functionalities, like a mini map or multiple quests on the HUD.
  25. Most likely the next patch will simply restore the file and the popups will be back.
