  1. Woah! All of these ideas/changes are spot on. I like the idea of aoes not interrupting caps. just forces people to positon better and tab tgt. However I think this should only apply when a single player is capping. if multiple players are capping then aoe should interrupt cap. /2cents
  2. To be honest I was just heading to Harb and Bastion forums to ask about the state of pub pvp there, in interest of transfering, when I saw this. I mean just looking at the state of things over the last 6 months pubside has really taken a dive: (disclamer - I am not on all the time so this is just my opinion from what I've seen) <Res Nova> - gone <Filthy> - great pvpers, really small, haven't really seen you guys <Working as Intended> - All-in-one guild with some great pvpers not really on that much, probably have had the greatest presence pubside pvp-wise, most of them spend more time impside for pvp, skill levels varied. <stim Addicts> - fell apart due to lack of GM presence (Wally </3) and practically no gating/standards on recruitment. <Uncensored> - have 2 players that have been playing pubside as of late, as far as I can tell, isn't really connected to the original (impside) Uncensored anymore which moved to a different server and changed the name to <simpletons> <Lethal Dose Fifty> (Do not confuse with <LD-Fifty> ) Sometimes if stars align you will see one of those in pvp area or a wz. <Prime Defense> Aside from Fatbert (who's mostly in WAI) Its been ages. <Knights of Havoc> Have great players none of them are usually around unless impside in <LD-Fifty> or <Nemesis> <Republic Gentlemen> Only see them in yolos or sometimes to pug a 4s group. Very rare to see one in wz. <Grav Brothers> This could be good but have the feeling its a side line activity for some of the LD guys having fun. Mix in a boatload of clueless nubs into the above situation and yeah, it's gotten really really really bad. ___________________________________ Reading this thread however, I am interested. And it looks like some of the better pubside pvpers are interested but that wont be enough. The newer players have to be willing to learn from the vets and many more of the players who jumped ship and bandwagoned impside have to come back at least 50% of the time or something. Caution with opening the recruitment doors too wide in <filthy>. In my experience this is a bad move for any serious, competitive, pvp guild (K'senia was right when he/she pointed this out as a flaw with stim Addicts). Perhaps setting up a secondary guild <PvP Skool> or <Nub Skool> or something would be the way to go. Keep the good and serious pvpers in <filthy> and have those still learning in the secondary guild work their way up into the primary guild. I have some other idea too but this would have to be really really promoted and some of us have to decide whether or not we want to play teacher a 1/2 - 1 hour per day. And really it would take quite a bit of time investment of those who want to see pub pvp revived. I guess im on the fence still a little bit on this one. If the interest is there, I'm down like a clown;). But if not, peach out:mad:.
  3. The animation is slower and damage is delayed about 0.75-1 second. Pre-3.0 both classes had the pull-back animation before striking. I can't count the number of SS/mauls I missed pre-3.0 on both my sin and shadow because someone turned around or steathed out mid animation. I was pretty happy when I logged on to my sin post 3.0. And disapointed to see pubs got the D again logging into my shadow.

  5. Looks like Krea's posts in thread have been "cleaned up". At least we know that it now might have the eye of a dev/mod.
  6. You realize there is an equal chance for this on both teams. Everyone seems to blame their losses on the "scrub" on their team. But never blame wins on the "scrub" in the team they faced, but instead tell themselves how pro they are (as long as they don't have to carry).

    Roots and snares do not build resolve nor do they respect resolve at all. they never have. with 3.2.1 they're changing resolve so that once you are white barred roots will act as a 50% slow. But roots and snares still will not add any resolve. I have never experienced the "sapped 5 times, no whitebar" scenario you describe here. Perhaps that isnt what happenned. From what I've seen resolve is working perfectly fine.
  8. if your playin hatred, you shouldn't be losing hardly any damage vs effective damage. Burst specs are far more subceptable to "losing" damage on the score card in this way.
  9. Probably not the case. I've never heard of the clients calculator being buggy in any way. the only way to count your damage outside of the clients calculator would be to run a parse program and check the logs. but even then I'm not sure if parses can be set to calculate effective damage, which would give you skewed numbers as the client only counts effective damage. for example if an enemy has 1 health point left, and you hit him for 12k that only counts as 1 damage as he only had again, 1 health Point, so only 1 damage effectively. just like healers don't count heals on targets that are already full health even though they see green numbers going up because its not effective healing.

  11. Don't worry about what other people are saying. I mean take their advice if they have some, but ignore any and all nerdrage. Rule number 1 in PvP is have thick skin, especially in rateds. Don't let other's epeens discourage you. Rule number 2 is ask a ton of questions about anything you don't understand. For example: "why couldn't I barrier in that last match?" A: Your godbubble being greyed out can only come from a merc/mando's electro-net which puts a "hindered" debuff on you. This prevents inquisitors from using barrier, phase walk or force speed, leapers from leaping and stealthers from stealthing out. In addition e-net puts a DoT and slow on you and increases the damage and slow effects AS YOU (try to) MOVE. Your only option is your stun breaker which breaks the hindered effect and slow but you will still take damage. So pretty much, you want to save your stun breaker for e-net and only when your health drops low in a match against a merc or mando. its the only thing that can prevent you from using your "oh crap" button. That means you will have to eat any other stuns until whitebarred. E-net is probably the most underrated ability in the game. knowing your class and the other classes is the most important part of PvP. So ask tons of questions most players are helpful and appreciate other players asking for help. There are probably a bunch of other less important rules but the above two are chief. Last point: You are paying for the game and have just as much right to participate as long as not trolling or being willfully ignorant.

  13. Since 3.0 bolster takes augments into account. If you have no augs at all it gives you a certain amount of power/endurance I think up to the level of 36 blues or greens per piece of gear.

  21. Reread your post:rolleyes:. You're actually making Krea's point. That it's the player not the class that makes the real difference. Its not that Mandos aren't balanced. Its that Mandos have a high skill floor resulting in two types of Mando: very good ones who sh*t on faces and very bad ones who complain non-stahp on the forums. You probably think arsenal is UP even after decoy buff. Classes that have a high skill floors (i.e. Mara, mando, sniper) end up with the highest number of complaints from those haven't enough skill to meet the minimum floor requirement to play the class decently, much less aproach the ceiling. Scubs: blame class and say nothing can be done unless they are buffed and y is nerfed as they are already "pro" and can't get any better. Pros: blame skill and studies x spec that beat them and y spec they are playing and practices spec abilities and options in different situations.
