I have the mystical tryhard backpack of Gemji-ha'ma. Every time I put a cute little scrub with some valiant and heroic guild name like Destiny Freedom Defenders 5000 in the backpack, it turns them into a grenade that has to be used within 30s or it disappears from my inventory. These grenades also place a debuff on enemy players and forces them to /say things like "tryhard" or "stun sh*tter" I know, OP as hell. Maybe someday I will post a vid on where to get this special backpack. Still looking for great players Repside.   5. Le sigh. This will take time recruitment has been a bit slow. You actually did see 2 of us in a pug group for 4s like 4 days ago but we were on imp alts (eeeewww right?) . Wish more people come back to Rep side. People seem to have their egos on blast and don't take losing lightly, even when its due to bad pugs in regs, not their own performance. We need to fill 2 spots for our first official ranked team: 1 heals and 1 dps. Particularly interested in Scoundrel or Sage heals and Gunslinger or Vanguard dps. But contact me directly if anyone is interested regardless of class as I feel any class CAN be made to work in team ranked, given skill level, coordination and tactics. Cheers!
  6. Hey El, Basically with Wally gone the guild lacked certain necessary controls for a strong PvP guild. They still have good PvPers in that guild and I group with them on a regular basis. I heard Wally is coming back to the game and I truely hope so as I miss that dude. </3 Zet! lel! Move your Guardian back to JC plox! Would love to see all the LD Dudes pubside more. It's so relieving when I see you guys + Grav Bros in matches. Especially when I'm solo queueing. Funny 'cause that's how I felt about pubside PvP a month ago: RIP.   10. Great thread. I'm a hard core Rep player who watched his home server (JC) go from mostly balanced, yet still imp dominated, to tumbleweeds in the PvP area of pub fleet, slowly over a one year period (been playing since 2.5). With a particularly large loss of good pub players on JC at the end of season 4. A few days ago, after not being able to find 3 other decent pub players at a given time for 2 days to queue up yolos AND even advertising in pvp chat to queue up (which is generally a no no cuz bads with no gear queue), I could not get a pop and moved to Harb to yolo. While the pops are plenty on harb and regs are much better there compared to JC, yolos pubside are a complete joke. Having no friends when I got to harb, I just queued and queued and queued with probably 50% of the matches being a guaranteed loss at the start due to poorly geared and a few leavers/AFKers. Needless to say my rating TANKED. Now I'm not saying I'm even a great player, but I was good enough to hit 1670 in s4 after about 80 matches running Infil (80%) and tank (20%) exclusively in solos. I digress. So I kept queueing on Harb these passed few days and figured with my rating drop elo would start giving me better matches at least. Nope, kept facing the same high rating imps, Mosh, etc. I'm certainly better for the experience though. When factions are imbalanced, underpopulated and separated, in a solo elo system that groups you with other players, it isn't true elo. Period. There are 2 solutions to this problem. 1) It can't be said enough times: X-faction for solo ranked queue ONLY. These are Hutt organized skirmishes for sport. To paraphrase huttball: "collected at RANDOM, from ACROSS THE GALAXY". There is no reason lore or otherwise not to cross factions for solo ranked arenas. This will also kill syncing and win trading/throwing or at least make it much harder and give a truer representation of RANDOM SOLO QUEUE. 2) Due to the small number of dedicated Pub PvPers overall, we need to decide on and move to a single server and have it be the THE N/A server for Pub PvP. The only possible problem I can see to too many Pubs on a single server, in which case we might want to split them between east and west. I dunno. I kinda see Harb as the best option just due to the ping that Aus/NZ/Asia will get on an east coast US server and bastion is super dead (I say this with a heavy heart as I love JC). Another survey should be done similar to the one Krea did for PvP overall.

  12. Apologies. Badly worded. My "has a clue" definitely wasn't meant to infer that you don't. Sure the benefit for juggs is that def/resist would apply to all damage types and the 3% additional DR adds to what is already good base DR and with self heals and great GCDs (albeit having long CDs). KCs mitigation stats of course off set this in PvE. For PvP though... I guess I'm at a loss for what to do. I've also noticed a few pvpers blame you and kbn for shadow tanks losing their self heals bla bla bla... which is ridiculous. The change to DR was definitely needed. As someone who's raids casually but with a good group I'm 7/10 HM ops. I definitely used your and kbn's guides/input and greatly appreciate the time you and he put into the shadowsin community.

PvP =/= PvE. Aelanis, The 4% DR on dark prot/shadow prot is only there to help off set DR difference that Shieldtechs and Immortals get PASSIVELY. Even then its still behind just in sheer DR from armor rating. However, if you are just following the above rotation as a shadow tank in PvP you are doing it wrong and your healer/team with suffer greatly for it. There are so many other things you will have to fit into your "rotation" to do your job correctly, that aren't part of you "rotation": Overload on CD, Spike on CD, Whirlwind on CD, Electrocute on CD, Force Slow on CD, Force Pull on CD (I know this is part of PvE opener but in isn't used again unless you are at range from boss and can do nothing else for threat anyway), CyberNades on CD, phase walk plant for smart teams that try to punt/pull you away from your team and finally against a good team 2 guard swaps every 10-15s (when I say "on CD" I mean "almost on CD" as it's purely situational). Fit this and a plethora of being stunned/physics-controlled in to your rotation and yes it becomes a challenge to keep up DR that is still less than what ST/Imm tanks have PASSIVELY. Do I manage? yes I do. Well that's okay you say, 'cause KC/Dark gets higher Def/Shield than the other 2 and 10% I/E DR. The 10% I/E DR is great. Defense is useless given the damage profiles in PvP and that only 2/18 dps specs are M/R heavy, the rest being mostly F/T with a few that are 50/50 FT/MR like Infil & Sab. Shield/Absorb have also lost a bit of value since 3.0 with every dps spec handed a set bonus autocrit every minute and in addition to near and total autocrit abilities already in the game like Force Po and Laze Tgt. (As a side note AP never should have been given it's autocrit on cell burst, should have been railshot, but that's a rant for another time) This autocrit/near autocrit meta de-values shield/absorb as crit chance pushes shield chance down (even to 0) where they overlap on the RNG table. So great! KC/Darks are the kings of Def and Shield Chance!.. which hold little value in PvP vs pure endurance and frankly the addtional pressure you can put on the enemy with 56-57k health in high endurance dps B mods and enhancements. Your shield chance will still sit at 35% with Ward and Def at 17% with Fort Stim. Sure mits help a little bit. I did a ttk test on my KC Shadow in dps gear vs tank gear at appox the same health levels droping 1 ear and implant on tank set to get the health levels to match and both setups had fort stims and tank set also included tank relics dps set had dps relics. Health was around 47k for both. The attacker was a buddy in infiltration as I feel that spec has the best variety of damage types. While he attacked me from 100-0 I kept Ward refreshed at 18-19s, pop'd Battle Readiness at 85% hp (for DR) and Force Po (for whatever my shield chance was in both cases to take advantage of the additional absorb). I also had him use his three stuns during his rotation as you are stunned a lot in PvP and as tank will take the 30% DR util. Each attempt he had his Force Po and setbonus autocrit ready. After 10 attempts and a stopwatch in each gear set, the ttk difference, mits vs no mits, was 2s avg. overall ttk varied between 20-25s. I didn't bother with Deflection as the % increase in Defense is the same and isn't impacted by other stats (like absorb is for shield) and the uptime it is low at 12s/120s. I also didn't use shroud for obvious reasons and has no impact on mits. I plan to do more thorough testing when 3.3 drops and gear pricing drops and I can get full and proper sets of the high end b mods, etc. The net result is that shadow tanks are the mitigation tanks where mitigation doesn't hold a lot of value in PvP, with the best tank stats being endurance and flat DR. In order for us to keep up some of our DR we are pressed into a rotation that partially inhibits us from doing our primary function in PvP, PEELING. Sure this meta works great in PvE as your natural threat rotation maintains your DR, with only slight interruption to it here and there. And that damage profiles in PvE respect mitigation. My best suggestion would be to have mits overwrite crit chance on the RNG table where they overlap. This wouldn't effect PvE as iirc bosses don't crit, but have a scripted amount of damage that either gets mitigated or doesn't based on RNG. Self heals back wouldn't hurt either, the other two tank classes have them, but I'm not sure if this tips the balance in PvE. Lastly, shadow tanks are the only tank class without a spamable aoe slow. Immortals and STs both get spamable 50% AOE slows. This is a big advantage over a 30% AOE slow on a 10s CD + single tgt 50% slow on a 12s CD. 50% Slow on lacerate? Plox? or up the slow on Slow time to 50% to be on par. Looking forward to any other ideas or tests. Hopefully we can get the devs eyes on this for a more balanced scene in PvP without impacting a balanced scene PvEwise.

  16. Dude. Leth is probably the best 1v1 SPEC in the game. Any burst buffs to this spec would warrant healing nerf. I mean. I seen a couple dudes play this spec very well. I think the only thing the spec needs is a better dot spread mechanism. Cuz carbine/volly pretty useless. I think this spec is highly underrated/under-utilized. 2creds2gud:rolleyes:
  17. But they should. I will be very disappointed if there isn't an entirely new feel to the game like "we're on the brink of destruction". Not "business as usual" on fleet "oh look, empire/republic are fine". l mean dat trailer doe. Make us feel it. And for instanced WZ its very easy to randomly chose one of the two teams as fighting for the eternal emperor, either through recruitment or enslavement (put slave colars on their necks), to keep the war feeling. And then boom, you can do away with all training simulations, period (pukes everytime he hears "isn't this fun?" in VS) . Huttball and 4v4 can remain as organized by the hutts "at random, from across the galaxy". Hutts don't care where you came from, they want their creds and entertainment. OW PvP will never be a thing in this game cuz engine. I mean let people flag and have their ***** and giggles and RP stuffs if they want. But really pvpers in this game don't give two hoots about OW PVP. What we do care about is competetive matches, balance, win-trading/throwers/trolls reduced, some new maps/content. The existing maps could minimally be reskined slightly to match the new war for levels 60-65 really would only be 4 maps. This would be emersive and amazing.
  18. Heh I chucked. But I agree. There is everything to gain and nothing to lose by merging all group content. Now that they are firmly not at war and factually, neither faction really exists (only destroyed remenants), with the rise and dominance of this third faction. The community wants this. The story and lore now supports it. Pvp, fp, ops, gf, gsf all benefit.

  20. How is it? PvP on JC went from being well balanced faction-wise to nothing but care-bear baddies and pve heros pubside over 1 & 1/2 years, and well, my back hurts. Yolos? 4s? Regs? I have both Rep and Emp toons but would prefer to play the faction that doesn't resemble Nazi Germany.

  23. Regardless, they're awesome. Had one of my funnest huttball matches to date with them in mids. We kept throwing the ball to the enemy, then blowing him up to get the ball back repeatedly, over and over and over. Imps kept quitting but there were plenty in the queue to backfill. You could tell those backfills were really really confused. Yeah kinda trolly I guess but pure gold. XD /subjectchangeoff
