  1. Correlia vendor sells purple lockboxes. Play GTN with the items, and hope for a crate-o-matic, maybe?
  2. Welcome in SWTOR! There is a saying, that internet can bring out the worst in people. I skipped group content myself for a long time, due to flaming in lowbie content. I consider it a mistake, these days. In PvE it is more or less easy to jump in at later levels. I find that is less true in PvP. I strongly suggest that you do NOT skip PvP until you are top level. In lower levels expecting a player to know shtuff is simply stupid and elitist. At 60, most people, even super nice ones, DO expect one to have experience. For example with PvP. Most who play at level 60 did start somewhere in lowbie levels, and continued. They ALL have the top level gear, but they also have many hundreds if not thousands of WZ under their belt. Also, I am afraid, not giving chat window attention is a sure fire way to get flamed. Necessary information is written in chat, which you simply have to get. You will soon see with one glance whether someone says something worthwhile. Get better with your class, google the different maps, and also maybe read some guides. And then play PvP as often as you can, or possibly feel like. Maybe announce at the beginning that you are new, and open to constructive suggestions. That can make a huge difference for the more experienced ones. Also, if you can, play with friends. Either friends you already have, or new ones. I.e. when you meet a nice player, be it in PvP or group content in PvE, put them on your friend's list, and tell them that (recomended to add a comment to the name, after a year one needs a super brain to still remember who is who). Whenever you want to play with someone, do ask the friends first. Maybe even chat with them a bit, to keep in touch. Best would probably be to find a guild that is doing the content on different levels, that you like to do. They usually have a mixture of experienced, and less-experienced people, and the former are often very willing to show the ropes.
  3. With all due respect, the price suggested by the GTN is not a good basis for pretty much anything. Not ten times, not 100 times. OP could search GTN for similar items to get an idea. Depending on how valuable the item is, check several times on several days.
  4. Agreed. Except one likes the looks or other aspects of a certain speeder. It is not so that all speeders on GTN have the cartel market icon. Some people are buying speeders from later planets, then selling them on GTN for a fat profit. If one wants to unlock a speeder, watch carefully whether it has the CM sign. If buying from GTN, do not buy one without the sign, except you know exactly, what you are doing.
  5. True that. I think Dulfy mentions which missions take about how much time. Belsavis proper (not Sektion X) dailies are done real fast too. I think each was 3 comms, but it adds up.
  6. Of course one can. It is not the solution for everything though. Bottleneck is always the tank position. The tanks of the guilds want to do a FP or 2 with their DDs and healers too sometimes. To bring all guildies' DDs and healers through a couple daily FP is time consuming. Even in my most active guilds, using GF now and then is simply a necessity even for getting the weeklies done for several chars. OP does have a point indeed. I personally like random groups therefore I list very often. Since I usually am the healer, and I like challenges, I find the situation somewhat funny. But my DDs see that a bit different, of course. They usually list much longer. I do think a minimum rating requirement would be in order, for GF formed groups. I would not tie it to artifact gear, since the blue top level is sufficient IMO for those FP, except Blood Hunt. Naked groups one can do without going through GF, IMO, so I do not see a problem there. Do bear in mind though, that there currently is an item bug that shows wrong rating, and wrong color of gear-level. I do think also wrong health bar, but did not really calculate the stats on anyone yet. I see that every couple of days: someone is in a FP with seemingly green sub-par items, and when I check the actual values of stats, neither rating, nor gear level can possibly be correct. Today we had a DD with supposedly a green 168 earpiece. When compared to the blue 178 earpiece, the stats of the "green" one were far beyond. When he linked the item into chat, of course it was artifact 192, which I would have expected seeing the stats.
  7. The term for this fallacy is: consensus over-estimation. Just in case you are interested to know I do exactly that, most times: craft one, RE, craft one, RE. Except I have stacks of mats, and am really lazy. Then I might craft two, or even three *gasp* I personally do know several crafters, who craft only one piece. And others who don't. Of course only the ones that you actually RE with a chance at success count for the probability of... a success in RE'ing Up to you to ruin mats or not. Not like you can buy tickets from a lottery that is over, and complain that you did not win. Since you clearly know whether the lottery is over, you cannot even complain that someone sold you an outdated ticket. Except to yourself In general: Rule of thumb in science, and market research is 2k tries show the true distribution with solid certainty. It is a curve shaped quite like the DR curves with a soft-cap. Past 2k, additional tries do not add too much to the credibility of the data anymore, statistically speaking. Lower levels as psandak wrote, several hundreds to make a decent guess about a pattern. Below that, probabilities do indeed not mean much. (Tip: Read psandak's intro to probability. Free of charge and good ) That just means, when I do 2k REs (and I am sure I am WAY and WAY beyond that in 2 years of active crafting), success rate will be close to the true rate. Tooltip says it is 20%. If the rng is set as that, I will expect the distribution to be really close to that. The fact, that statistics is strongly counter-intuitive to the human mind has been shown over and over in the respective sciences, though. I cut everyone a lot of slack here.
  8. May want to post in the forum of your server(s).
  9. Tanks get instant pops for FPs, and are often in demand in guilds. Though not always, by far. Regarding PvP, I hear a lot of "yay! pwnd y'all" currently from jugs, but that may be the one guildie who masters his jug really well. As for DPS, currently mDPS are a bit out of fashion. In the new OPs their skill level needs to be higher, than the average rDPS' to get good results. What will be in demand always, are good to outstanding players of all classes, though. We may be talking split seconds here, in analysis of the situation, reaction time, movement, etc. And that is, where it does make a difference how well one likes the class. So it is really hard for us to tell, since what you like has a great influence. In the hands of a skilled player, all classes are valuable, and will find their place in guilds.
  10. You are probably not a true gamer, therefore do not understand the exquisite logic. EDIT: Pure irony on my side. No insult meant.
  11. Implants one uses exactly two, and only on the one char that holds the token. No equipping alts. I am in different guilds, even the utterly non-progress-y, casual ones were set on implants a while ago. They drop from the first boss of ravagers, which is a complete joke.
  12. Dulfy's guides are not titled with the AC but with the discipline path. Sharpshooter for example is the gunslinger guide for that discipline path. I did not check the markmanship guide, sharpshooter guide does give the numbers, IIRC for Resurrected gear (token items from new OPs in SM). Accuracy is indeed capped at 110%, the game rounds up after 109. 51% so that is the ideal number. Most of it comes from enhancements, on my slinger. But none of my DDs really hit that number exactly. Diminishing returns hit crit and surge seriously at around 320-350. But many classes will want more, or even a LOT more, when it gives more oomph than other stats, despite the DR. Unfortunately I do not have enough time at the moment to look into OPs other questions. In general, being more or less close to the ideal numbers is enough, except one is a serious progress raider. Apart of accuracy, which one should get asap, the stats are fluctuating anyway, if one is raiding at all, and therefore getting new, better equip.
  13. I start with modifiable armor at level 9. Is it necessary? No. Is it fun? To me yes. Even when I was a new player, blue mods held out about 10 levels, nowadays it is 20 and more. Not going into a level appropriate FP or even OP with outdated armor though If you can afford the mods, and you like the armor, there is no reason whatsoever to hold off. Comms are so easy to get these days, a piece or two in modifiable armor is quite easy to keep uptodate. You will outlevel all armor fast, that is just how this game works. Certainly faster at lower levels, but it is a matter of priorities more than set rules. If you find a drop while playing that is better, can swap out the modded armor until you have outgrown the drop.
  15. Falls du in ner Progressgilde unterwegs bist.
  22. Flashpoints, especially Kuat Drive Yards. PvP, GSF, events. Never tried GSF myself, so I do not know how much exp one gains compared to other means. KDY is still the fastest though, I think. As for legacy, the higher the char doing level appropriate stuff or higher, the higher the numbers rolling into the legacy exp bar.
  23. Not sure about Oricon, but Makeb and CZ have nodes of different levels. i.e. tier 9 and 6. OP is not the first to complain about this. Used to be a pain in the butt when one wanted to get a quick node plucking or 2 from CZ, and all the nodes were tier 6. If I remember correctly, that was not the case right when it opened, but was changed such only later. I was not level 50 yet when Makeb opened, so I do not know whether that was changed, too. Obviously, close to 450, one wants tier 9 nodes, only.
  24. 3% higher chance to craft an item twice that will bring me 5 Mio each? I find that worthwhile. Even for the lower priced items, e.g. augments, the amount of augments each of my crafters sells per day easily pays the few costs in a short time.
  25. Exactly what I did with some friends, too First take them through the FPs, then into easy OPs. The joy to see said friends in my f-list now in The Ravagers with other groups Go for it! I am sure the early OPs are doable now! If you are on T3-M4, I come help if you like.
