  1. I've done that quest many, many times since the creation of this thread, and have never run into this bug, except if you count when using Force Speed and the like. Either this is a very rare bug that is then likely difficult to reproduce, or the people running into this issue are doing something wrong. Either way, "deliberately decided to ignore" sounds like an extreme misrepresentation of the situation.
  2. The answer is in the post before yours, really. It's not to say that performance isn't affected, but with 150ms you can play any content in this game on any class and spec just fine. My latency is lower nowadays, but I've taken every spec into some of the harder content in this game, over the years, with 170ms latency. I can't comment on pvp, but I'd be inclined to believe TrixxieTriss on that front, who knows a thing or to about playing pvp with high latency.
  3. I'm surprised that it took this long. I think people using the system to benefit from getting their friends to play has been the exception rather than the rule. The entire way it is set up never made sense to me to begin with. I will reserve judgment of whatever comes instead of it for when I've been able to experience it myself, but at first glance I'm expecting rewarding people via Seasons to be more fair. Also, I will not miss the begging for referral clicks.
  4. Well.. we are pretty well aligned on that matter. I mean, I get fussy about specifics, and I know I do. I cringe at the example of rakghoul relic because as far as anyone knew, they were being used as intended. People didn't know there was something that needed fixing until they changed it. People already knew what they disliked about the tech frag cap and Kai, but the most vocal group seemed to let it go because they got themselves a loophole. It's specifically because I am hoping for a more constructive resolution that everyone can benefit from, not just the more experienced and/or knowledgeable players, that I'm frustrated with posts that are basically just angry rants at the devs about wanting to keep their loophole. This should be an opportunity to push for proper changes. But.. I seem to just be eliciting responses that.. also don't make me feel like it's going anywhere constructive, so I am probably just going to bug out of this one.
  5. Well, no. I mean, don't get me wrong, I feel awkward here because I don't really want to be on this side of the discussion. I want to be the one saying there should have been more content, that the cap should have been (much, much) higher, that all of this shouldn't have been an issue. It is an issue, though, but while I have immense trouble with the concept of being concise, the only proper response to that last statement is "no". I don't even know where to start now. I can point out that my example was only about one relevant new addition, but the whole fuss going around right now is a pretty clear indication of how many of the more active players among us are feeling slowed down by the cap, I can point out that they most likely didn't plan ahead to not add anything for 18 months, I can point out that even if these new additions were the only thing to consider, it will still just be.. a system functioning properly within an environment that does not see a lot of new content added at a regular basis, which would sound like a nice description of swtor as a whole. It's perhaps not a good thing, but no leap required, it's perfectly logical.
  6. It has a preview button for me. Though I've noticed buttons having vanished before. A piece having a button and later not anymore. Doesn't occur often enough for me to have been able to see what causes it.
  7. My 'shock' was not aimed at you. I don't fully agree with all you've said, and felt dirty after reading your gross abuse of the word "rationalization", considering the shapes people have been bending themselves into in this thread, but I basically agree with all the suggestions people have been making. As soon as someone acts like a victim after using a system in a way they very well know it wasn't intended to be used (and you all very well knew it wasn't intended to be used that way), well, I've lost any respect I had for several people in here.
  8. I'm rather shocked at most replies here--like, literally found my mouth hanging open there. I can understand wanting the cap to be higher, I can understand annoyances regarding Kai Zykken's opening hours, but when you know a cap exists and deliberately bypass it, you don't get to act like the wronged party. They're fixing a system and bringing everyone who abuses the refund timer in line with everyone who isn't abusing the refund timer before an update that would've otherwise greatly benefited those that did abuse it. It's in fact this very sort of update that shows why the cap exists in the first place--mind you, I'm not a fan of it, I don't think there are many people out there who have earned as many tech frags as I have, in the absolute sense, and would much rather have saved them for something I cared about than throwing them at items I didn't really need, but that's exactly what the cap is for, that I don't get to instantly buy up all the new augment components I could ever need, when someone else could start with at most one. It's to stop newly added carrots from being caught and eaten as of 2 minutes after the servers come back up. Complain about the cap, complain about Zykken, don't pretend that what you're doing isn't giving you an advantage over people that don't abuse this loophole.

  10. I decided to help increase the sample size of testing. Four guilds that completed conquest (2x Large, 1x Medium, 1x Small) of which I was certain nobody would be online at reset time if I wasn't and without maxed commendations. The guild of the character I was logged onto when the new week started did get its 80 commendations for the Medium Yield, 359 > 439, the other three stayed at the 297, 119 and 545 they had before the reset.
  11. Some time ago I was fussing a lot with trying to get a nice guild name based on an idea I had, and there was no single letter word in my attempts that I recall, but I kept getting messages that suggested my ideas were taken, even though they were so far out there that.. I could imagine one maybe, but not all of them being taken. Eventually I ended up finding a one-word alternative name (which seemed a lot less obscure) and that worked fine. Reason? Well..I don't know, but I've also stumbled onto 'unavailable' errors when trying to name a character, with names so out there that I was sure they couldn't possibly be taken, except the first part, before the space, was always the same, and a single typo on the first part made it work. This leads me to suspect that there's some funky issue happening with names with spaces in them. I know it's not as simple as the first part being taken, at least not for character names, but there's not enough to go by to say much for certain. It could be throwing the wrong error message for all we know.
  12. Not bothered about the general idea, but I tried to clarify something to someone who I figure will have long moved on from the matter. Felt a bit dumb when I realized. I'm all for highlighting the underlying problem, though. It seems like an unnecessary and fixable problem, but perhaps not one that's high on their list of priorities.
  13. I braced myself when I spotted this thread's title, but clicked anyway because I was hoping that it was exactly what it turned out to be! Breasts in swtor aren't ridiculously large, but they are large. The small side of the spectrum is underrepresented and as such I am going to +1 this, even though I think there is just about 0% chance of it happening.
  14. Does it actually even do anything, though? I seem to recall getting tech frag warning sounds upon completion of deconstruction, even before pressing any button afterwards. I've not tried what would happen without clicking.. but I'd assumed it was just there for show. Edit: Tried it, is as I thought, the button is for show, by the time that deconstruction ends, jawa scrap and tech frags were added.
  15. I'm not familiar with either item, but looking up Redeemer's Harness in collections does show lvl15 mods in it, and even the description mentions its total stats. Regardless of my opinion on the matter, it does seem to be 'working as intended' as far as I can see. Gear with mods in them can't be redeemed. Edit: Was just trying to be objectively informative, but I feel compelled to add that I think it's a very poor aspect of the collections system (why even add those to collections in the first place if they're not meant to be copied from there..?) and would really like to see a change to allow the same items but without mods to be copied through collections. Edit2: Noticed the slight necro. Probably not relevant information anymore. Oh well.
  16. To be fair, the thread is months old and doesn't really have many posts, with several of the posts that it does have being from people not having the issue. Many of us (myself included) have removed names from ignore lists many times since the creation of this thread without seeing them return. That doesn't mean that there is no bug, but I don't think that wondering whether the few* people running into this are doing something wrong somehow and asking questions to try and find out is unfair. * It's a little tricky an issue in that it's very possible that relatively few people have bothered removing people from their ignore lists and that of that group relatively few people have bothered to check whether the changes stuck, so it may very well be affecting a lot of people that just didn't notice (yet). I've tried to reproduce the issue myself a few times, but I've not had any change happen that I didn't initiate myself.
  17. I think it was rather dumb that they merged the NA servers into one East and one West and then made them both East, so now you get the situation where the biggest factor in choosing a server has become which has the highest population, meaning the bigger will only get bigger and the smaller will only get smaller. I think they should've merged all NA servers into one when they merged servers before. I think a merge or some other measure (closing one?) is inevitable, though I also think it's not close just yet. It would perhaps be less of an issue if people were less inclined to abandon what they admit is a vibrant server. A merge now is either too early or too late.
  18. I never used these, so I can't be sure if this applies here, but I've been under the distinct impression that several 'clone' emote commands were removed when the emote window was implemented (like for years I keep using certain emotes, and suddenly I find I'm having to type something different for the same effect. Many were outright removed too (I miss /shoo...), so I wouldn't be surprised if the incorrect commands used to work just fine.
  19. Got the FP on vet today on a guild run, helping some guildies level. I was on a lvl75 Commando, one other lvl75, two lowbies. I was de facto tank. We killed him before he finished his first laser phase starting cast, but I took a total of about 600k damage over an encounter that didn't last a minute (of which more than 10% was spent reflecting), so that inspired me to run some tests. Level 75 scoundrel (so I could stealth to this boss) healer (so I could live long enough to gather meaningful data) going into Maelstrom Veteran and Maelstrom Master alone. I didn't do much damage to the boss, only poked him a few times at the start because if you leave him at 100%, he doesn't seem to ever do anything besides Wrist Laser Burst and Rapid Shots. Data gathering attempts concluded upon my death or once Daksh hit 75% HP and began charging his laser, at which point I'd use Disappearing Act to reset the encounter (so all of this is before the laser phase). Veteran Wrist Laser Burst: 134 hits; 2,130,573 total damage; 15,900 average damage per hit. Master Wrist Laser Burst: 115 hits; 1,455,900 total damage; 12,660 average damage per hit. Veteran Retractable Blade: 26 hits; 1,074,034 total damage; 41,309 average damage per hit. Master Retractable Blade: 22 hits; 582,362 total damage; 26,471 average damage per hit. Veteran Rapid Shots: 350 hits; 923,005 total damage; 2,637 average damage per hit. Master Rapid Shots: 310 hits; 2,267,960 total damage; 7,316 average damage per hit. Veteran Bleeding: 36 hits; 448,596 total damage; 12,461 average damage per hit. Master Bleeding: 34 hits; 335,988 total damage; 9,882 average damage per hit. On my first go, on Veteran, I took almost a million damage (996.6k) in 53 seconds. My shortest attempt saw me take 220k damage in a pull that lasted 15 seconds. Group finder says that Maelstrom Prison is recommended for players as of lvl29. All of this was before any laser phase had started. Sample size might be too small to determine how overtuned Veteran Maelstrom is, but I stopped gathering more data because with what I got so far it was pretty damned obvious that it's not functioning as it ought to, and I didn't want to waste more credits on repairs. Even someone who's played this game for nine years should be able to see that this isn't right.
  20. Where is this option? I had never heard of it and do not appear able to find it.
  21. Okay so.. I've never paid terribly close attention to this, but in a personal guild with just my own characters where I've never picked any perks, I'd always get the 'max commendations' message when the guild leveled and when the guild hit the conquest goal for that week--when it hit the goal. I apologize if I'm mistaken, but several posts here (and the timing of some recent ones) make me wonder whether people are expecting commendations on conquest reset when they should be looking for them the second the guild reaches their goal. Am I way off the mark here?
  22. Oh no.. does that count as a bug? I love being able to pounce and hug my Malora! It bugs me that I can't interact with my Gree Ambassador and Jollo... but at least I still have Malora.. for now..? I think you are now my nemesis.
  23. Bastion on west coast and Jung Ma and Prophecy of the Five on east coast were rather dead. I remember attempting to get the +xp set on almost every server during DvL event, and it was a huge pain on those three. I think it was Bastion where I ended up with only 3 pieces of the set. Merge was absolutely needed back then--I'd say it came much too late, in fact, but it doesn't compare to the current situation. I can't say much about the German and French servers, but on all other servers there are enough people to participate in all content. Some are in better shape than others, but that will always be the case when you have multiple servers. Edit: Tomb of Freedon Nadd wasn't much better than the servers I mentioned, but the OP's joke was about the North American servers..
  24. Them making up majority of the group gives them the right to deal with things as they see fit. It's where my support for a simpler Want/Pass system comes from. You can think what you want, decide what's reasonable, but that's just simply not relevant if the rest of the group thinks differently. You can say that this should be communicated before, but that's also not relevant if the rest of the group thinks differently. People are right when they say that it's an inherent risk in using groupfinder/pugs, though differentiating between Greed and Need has become largely pointless in pugs while any other sort of group will more easily be able to figure things out among themselves.
  25. Well, I have. The old pvp servers were pretty dead, and Begeren Colony (I had characters on almost every server, but that used to be my primary server) at off-hours could get pretty damned quiet. Post-merge is a different story. Republic Fleet on Satele Shan is going to be the lowest fleet population on the North American servers, and it bottomed out at 39, bouncing between 40 and 50 for the slowest hours of the night. Imperial Fleet and both Star Forge fleets having +100 at any time. An argument could be made for merging them (arguments against also), but the 7-people-on-fleet joke is getting old. For those not in on it: Every now and then someone pops up saying (the number may vary, '7' seems popular): "7 people on fleet, game is dead", regardless of how many people are really on, regardless of how many instances there are, causing people to argue or 'explain' that it's just their instance--but it's not someone confused by instance number, because they'll say the same thing again the next day.
