  1. I play my Operative healer with dps companion. The combo works well and I have so far resisted spending credits or CC to buy HK (who I have on another character). Fighting champions is no problem and I solo'd all heroic 2s and many heroic 4s levelling up. Even when I have to fight alone - Gree Defender, for example - I am never in trouble, though obviously I am never fast either, but fighting alone is a very rare occurence. The versatility and fun of a hybrid makes up for lack of uber damage as your stealth and CC skills will take you places your pure damage dealer could only dream of.
  2. I bookmarked Nefash's Pilot Training School for the day I want to start doing space missions. He has included video guides
  3. I play on a PvE server too. It doesn't mean that PvP is or should be excluded, it simply means PvE is the main focus. Much the same as other languages are not forbidden simply that EN is the primary language. As it stands, the centre area of the particular part of Ilum playing host to the event is a warzone. If you don't want or like PvP then stay away. It is really that simple.
  4. Grazzt, while I agree the guild system in game is lacklustre, many of the Lineage 2 examples you gave (possibly all of them actually) were not in game at launch and some were not in game when I retired 2 years after its release. As well, the whole premise of that particular MMO was centred around clans and alliances. Lineage lacked missions, operations, had no class story, or much lore at all - the player driven politics was the story! Apples and oranges. As a guild leader in L2, there was nothng in game to help me organise and host events. That was all done by the creativity and dedication of myself and other guild officers/members and the medium for advertising those events was our guild forum. Which leads me to your own. You say you have 100 members, but looking at your event calander for Feb, there were only 3 events for the whole of this month! With as many people as you have, I would expect at least that many per week. Operations can be done at least twice weekly, have a ranked PvP night for your level 50s, a designated RP night which will hopefully inspire members to create more indepth RP events. Create your own mentor system based on class; doesn't have to be anything overly complicated, just designate class leads, so new members know who to go to for particular class advice. In short, they could put all the shiny fandangled tools in game for a GM to play with, but people still have to do all the work if you want to have a good rotation of events to do together as a guild. Good luck.
  5. A bonus for skills and talents your L1 is a long way from gaining would be pretty useless, no?
  6. Ok, i am going to tell you something that should be common knowledge. This isn't the first and only MMO most gamers here have played, so please stop with the "all games have bugs" wool-pulling over eyes comment. I have been playing online games for many years and MMOs in particular for a decade - so many I have forgotten half of them. Until SW:TOR, I had never played a released game with quite so many issues nor known a design team with such an ability to break something for everything they do fix. I may live with the issues with little to no complaint and even value hotfix patches for the "Let's guess what they break this time" entertainment they provide, but anyone who spouts "all games have bugs" as an answer to why we have so many in this particular MMO, has either very little real experience of online gaming or is blinkered to the extreme.
  7. I'm not bothered for my smuggler, she can keep mobs at arms length and has plenty of other harder hitting abilities that don't need a condition to proc. On my healing spec operative though - who has very little in the way of damage skills - eviserate will be sorely missed, especially as she won't be gaining any damage skills in the new patch to replace it.
  8. Is that such a crime? The game is run as a business, despite the fact many gamers stick their fingers in their ears and "Lalalalalala" at the thought.
  9. You do actually. You cannot buy the armour until you have the prerequisite reputation standing.
  10. Currently as the game is now, you cannot add companions to your family tree: that is fact, not opinion.
  11. Oh please. You will be complaining we can't put Gree armour on our field droids next The family tree quite clearly shows who you can and cannot add to the legacy tree and companions, even married ones!, are not included. A legacy perk is something quite different to a legacy member.
  12. Since the Gree event started, my main has increased her credits by over 500k and my alt (who has only logged in to complete the PvE missions) by 200k. People are still shouting for OP pugs when I return to the fleet and my guild has not changed its Op calendar because of rising repair costs. Only BW can see the larger picture and they have said they are keeping an eye on the repair costs and the effect it has on the economy. Sure, for a small minority who do nothing but log in once or twice a week to take part in a raid and do nothing else to bolster their assets, the repair costs may have been a detrimental hit to their pocket, but if it is for the greater good, then I guess we all have to suck it up.
  13. Can companions normally wear bound to legacy items? As you can tell, I have never tried to equip them with legacy bound items but I would assume the rule is the same across the board.
  14. My point was not all the reputation gains are equal. It isn't just the cap that sets the Fleet rep grind apart, other rep grinds have prohibitions/limitations/whateveryouwanttocallthemisms too. On a scale of how hard those limitations are to bypass, imagine a player who is spending the fortnight of the Gree event on holiday and will miss it entirely. Or the shift worker who is never able to find a group for heroics. At least with the fleet rep missions they have a permanent 'event' that can be done entirely alone.
  15. Gree is the only reputation that is an 'Event" and is recurring and not permanent. Voss is the only reputation that requires grouping. Both the above conditions limit the amount of reputation gain someone is likely to get in practice, no matter how much they can gain in theory.
  16. You really like to muddy the water of an argument don't you Capt? Keynes was merely pointing out that an assertion you claimed to be fact was in fact totally non-factual. In other words you were WRONG. I don't see anything else in his post that implies he is or isn't happy to pay for an expansion in SW:TOR, so the root of your belligerent "Go to Lineage 2" attack is all the more obvious. You are attacking because your fact was WRONG. How utterly uncouth.
  17. As someone whose character can stealth during a wipe so doesn't take damage to death, the new repair bills are making me feel awful guilty. When some members of a wiped party are having to pay 10s of 1,000s in repair costs and my own repair bill is to the tune of a couple of 100, that really seems incredibly unfair. I'm not looking forward to the day the wipe is down to some error I have made...all of us can lose concentration for a moment, but never has it had such harsh penalties.
  18. This doesn't make any sense at all. Forget Makeb, you are basically saying that a subscriber loses out to a FTP by $15 per month. If you really feel this way then unsub. If nothing else it may make you appreciate exactly what your sub buys you. On the other hand, you may be perfectly happy with the FTP model, so win-win for you. Capt, has already pointed out that you get the means to buy a Cartel Pack every month if you so wish. It's far better to get 500 CC to spend how we like, than be given a CP that some of us have no interest in wouldn't you think? Please don't think I am being deliberately rude OP, but your first few points were so illogical and ill-thoughout, I couldn't bring myself to read the rest of your post. I so loved L2...way ahead of its time. I will also add that LotRO offers its expansions on its market, but the means to buy at the market can be earned in game without having to spend a dime in real life.
  19. Firstly there are two seperate designs - one with an embelishment to the quickbar and one without (the one we have now). What they both have in common is that the player healthbar nestles neatly on top as if it were part of the quickbar. This is what the OP asked for in his original post and I have told him how he can achieve that. You didn't sound rude, by the way.
  20. How is that not knowing what he is trying to say? I followed my own instructions and got this: http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/9932/playerbar.png How is that not what the OP asked for?
  21. Ah I see. You're not really complaining on behalf of players with only one level 50, you're really complaining about the space missions themselves. Say what you mean next time and then people may not misunderstand PS: I don't like space missions much either so have chosen to skip the rep grind for this faction. Luckily there are plenty of other things to do in game
  22. I know what you mean and maybe I didn't explain clearly. When in the interface editor, click on the player and target frames and move them down to the position as shown in the screenshot. 'Save as' a new name in the file box and that's it.
  23. Blimey Cel I have no idea, it is 30 odd years since I have seen the movies and curiously enough my characters didn't appear in them. I do remember that Luke didn't solo-play it though *Sigh* I'm only telling you how I feel as a player of characters in this particular MMO. I've had my three chapters, just as the original stars of the original movies did. I wouldn't mind my characters being a footnote in a larger story sometime in the future, but I wouldn't want to have the starring role again.
  24. When you have the interface set to edit in game, you can click on most bars and boxes to move them around as you wish. The character and target health are both bars that can be moved. Once you have them in your place of choice, save the current interface under a new name (where the 'extended' and other files are) and there you have it.
