  1. Re: 5, press X to sit your character down. This stops movement and allows the use of TP scrolls. PS: Play TfB with the guild twice a week at least and have never had this issue arise, even with a 16 man party. What on earth are you doing to get stuck inside the pillars?
  2. Both of them of course. The 20% discount (360CC - 20% = 288CC) is time-limited, the permanent price is not.
  3. Individual characters can get bugged, so just because the issue isn't present on others means nothing. You have not said whether you have performed a repair, but this should probably be the first step to try if a re-log doesn't help. Incidentally, I read a CS post once that said more than one repair may have to be performed in order to resolve some issues, but hopefully the scan will provide some feedback to indicate if further repairs are necessary. If that doesn't help and you don't wish to wait for a reply to a ticket, then you could always try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. These two steps are definitely things I would try first for a game-breaking issue.
  4. The reset button is specifically for when missions bug out, so not sure any help will be made available to you until you have used the in-game help provided. Also. using the reset button doesn't reset to the first mission in a chain either, so you needn't worry about having to do everything over, it could be as simple as repeating a conversation.
  5. Trust me this is a horrible solution. I have recently played an indie game that did this very thing and I don't know which is worse, the self-conscious, obviously reading from a script voice or the non-actor trying their best to act the lines and missing by a mile. Acting is a skill that has to be learned and trained, even for those who take to it more readily than others. Nearly all the VA in SW:TOR is top-notch, including the alien tongues. I have cringed a couple of times when I hear a dodgy Welsh or somewhere-vaguely-in-South-Yorkshire accent and most everyone I know gets pissed with the female pilot's voice at the end of Kaon, but for the 100s of hours of voice acting in the game they are fleeting things and don't do anything to hamper the overall high standard. Frankly, I could listen to the female advertiser in the Nar Shadaa shopping mall all day. Maybe I am just a little mad
  6. You spell it the correct way, that is British English not American English
  7. No he didn't say HE would look into it. Read the quote you copied again... "I will pass this on for investigation" Assuming you trust his word, a more appropriate OP would have been to politely enquire if the team investigating have any news to report. It may also have been acceptable to PM him. But the way you approach the topic - rudely and hyperbolically - loses your cause a lot of sympathy. If I were you I would scrap this thread and start over. If you want professional consideration in response to an issue that is bothering you, then you have to give professional consideration first.
  8. I had my first miss on the way to click a console this week. Unfortunately, having never missed on a sleep dart previously it never occurred to me to actually check the mob was slept In short, I concur. As a healer, I really don't want to have stack accuracy to ensure I can sedate a 'patient'.
  9. Again, the QotD is a dialogue from the Community team NOT the developers. Known issues are dealt with in the CS forum not in here. You can also send evidence of bugs directly to Bioware using the email address or ticketing system in game. Cilas has already made a thread specifically about PvP issues in these forums, a second thread to have a poke at the hard-working community team is not appreciated or appropriate in my opinion.
  10. Someone else said that further up, but I found it actually much easier (didn't drop once and I am not the greatest jumper). As mentioned the jumps in this mission are not particularly difficult, however they annoyed me more as they spoilt the momentum of the chase. Having to stop every 20 seconds to position your character just so to make a jump crapped on the immersion of this part of the story.
  11. Question of the day has nothing to do with the development team, it is run by the Community team as a way to communicate positively with the player base. If you're disgruntled by certain developments, by all means complain constructively, but please don't drag a positive aspect of the forums into your complaint. It is not related and will only serve to discourage communication from BW employees and that isn't good for anyone.
  12. Hah, I was just coming back to this thread to let the OP know. I completely missed getting the bins as a skill (though it was after 3am when I finished the heroic) and it still shows as an item in your mission inventory, so it was very confusing when it know longer worked on my quick-bar. I then tried to reslot from bag and yelped when the item disappeared altogether...was in the middle of ticketing it when a guild-mate told me it is now a skill not an item.
  13. The game detects when mission items disappear from your mission inventory and sends you a new one in the mail automatically - this sometimes happens even when you still have the original! If you don't receive a mail, submit a ticket and I am sure your droid will be replaced with a new one.
  14. Turn it off in options and then you can control who and when you party up.
  15. This is an RPG and from that perspective there is no such thing as kill-stealing. To ignore dangerous enemies in front of you just because their attention is elsewhere is akin to ignoring a person being mugged in broad daylight. If you keep this in mind, then perhaps you will be less bothered when someone comes to your aid in future.
  16. Well I am certainly going to want to go along as a 4th for anyone who needs it (on The Progenitor if anyone wants to poke me), but the difference between this and replayable FPs and Ops is most of the fun is in the puzzle solving and the satisfaction that gives. Someone only interested in the shiny guff (nod to Evil Councillor) is probably not going to like this so much and a game solely comprised of puzzle solving would have a very short life once the puzzles are solved. And I have to add that I think most of the FPs and Ops in this game are very well done, it's just a shame they become all about skipping and space-barring which detracts from the experience for a first-timer. But in spirit I agree with you and to see this type of mission - involving real puzzle-solving - outside of a single-player game is a real treat for some of us and quite a brave move by the designers. EDIT: Agree about the HK-51 quest line too. The Theoretika was full of awesomeness.
  17. I know travelling around the worlds with a pair of binoculars (or digging, AKA fishing) isn't everyone's idea of having fun in a game - which is why a little nagging was done in order to get a group of 4 guildies to the start of the finish line - but the group finale to the binocular quest line makes all that travelling worth it. Simply, this is the best quest I have ever undertaken in any game ever! As hinted at from the earlier solo tasks, the heroic is a mix of puzzles and fighting. I implore anyone still to complete the mission NOT to refer to a guide; the puzzles are that satisfying balance of not too easy yet never frustrating and the boss fights are interesting rather than dangerous (with 4 L55s at least). To the person or people responsible for the design and implementation of this story; thank you for the adrenaline rush. The heroics alone were worth the £6 expansion cost and in years to come when talking games with my friends I know the search for 'The Shroud' will stand out as the king of quests, the gaming Oscar-winner. Cheers.
  18. I wonder how many of those dismissing the OP's complaint choose to play female toons "cus if I have to look at my character all day, I want it to be attractive". The thread pure reeks of hypocrisy. Anyway, I too have had my frustrations equipping my characters with a look that is both suitable and unique. I'm managing it slowly - I have two that are 'complete' and others being worked on - and most of the time the fact hunting down pieces that gel together is time-consuming and obscure is satisfying. If it took me so long, then it figures no one is going to look exactly the same right? On the other hand, when the cartel offers up a set that is almost the same as the one I have been working on for 40 levels, that sucks. So too does having the best looking stuff being unmoddable - has anyone started a new character since the patch? I have and the drops/quest reward items on Tython are much better looking than they used to be. Unfortunately, they are much better looking than the moddable items you get to replace them. It's absurd that some of the best skins in game are restricted to green/blue items and our gear becomes less awesome looking the more powerful they become. Next time you see someone with a great looking outfit that is relatively unique ask them where it came from. Nine times out of ten it will be a sub-40 dungeon/PvP vendor item.
  19. If you are not interested in crafting, selling crafting materials (particularly scavenged metals and compounds) can net you a steady income. EDIT for poster above me: "Gold" is a generic term for in game currency
  20. The fact that as a stealther (with CC to boot) you can solo most Heroic 2s and even some H4s means there is no need to be behind on xp compared to other classes. Besides which, stealthing is just one aspect of a class, you can still dps everything in sight if you so choose (EDIT to add: though the class that has to fight his way through takes longer, so he is still on that mission when you have moved on to the next). My stealther got to L50 in slightly less hours /played than my first character, a pure DPS, so I know personally that they do not have a harder time gaining experience. On the contrary, there are more missions than any class needs to make it to level cap, so your point is totally redundant.
  21. Advertising directed at children is prohibited to an extent (certainly here in the UK and I am sure for many countries) so it is no surprise that in-game promotions would be monitored in the same was as any other advertising in this regard. However, as SWTOR is not a children's game, I doubt it will come under the same scrutiny (if it comes under any at all).
  22. Much earlier in the thread someone mentioned improved dungeon drops but it has all but been ignored. For the record, the improved dungeon drops will ensure that new L50s are equipped better and faster than they were in the days of Tionnese being given away for free. My brand new L50 is far better equipped than my old L50s and she is still to spend any of her classic comms (2 shy of buying the weapon). Catching up is really not going to be an issue - but thanks for thinking of us
  23. I think 5 days was a little too much, but I don't see any issue with it otherwise. I think it is possibly worse for guildies who are already on Makeb/L55: new ops on hold till all have access to the content, unable to chat about the new content on comms/in guild chat etc (assuming you're in a guild that considers all its members). This time next week it will be something of a non-issue, but a week is a long time in gaming terms
  24. I ordered on the 8th of January and the 'early access' offer was not part of the front page advertising at all. People either have really bad memories or are making things up.
