  1. Not picking a side here, but had to chime in after seeing a few people claim Nox isn't powerful because he/she uses the power of Sith ghosts instead of his/her own. I would remind these people that the Emperor had to consume an entire planet's life, as well as a coven of powerful Sith lords, to gain his power. By the " oh they didn't originally have their power" argument, one would also be arguing that Vitiate is more or less a typical Sith.
  2. Iv'e done an unbelievable amount of testing on this, both theoretical and actual field testing. As people have said before, any class can solo through all their class missions and any class can solo any mission designated for one player. Not sure, but i'm also pretty positive every class can solo heroic 2+'s as well. Where the real (and rewarding) challenge comes in is soloing flashpoints. Yes, that means the end game, not just in between. The two flashpoints i tested like crazy were The Battle of Ilum and The False Emperor. My first tests designated whether or not one would even be able to solo the mobs in the beginning; In Normal mode, a tank could not do this in any gear ( Sith Assassin used, healer companion). However, the healer could with a mix of Ilvl 146 and 126 gear (Scoundrel, roughly 50% 126 and 50%146, his companion ranged tank at all 124 gear). In Heroic mode, NEITHER could solo the initial mobs, and i will assume this applies to all classes ( as the fights weren't even close, the tank would be down before even one mob was at half health.) However, i threw in the curveball of stealth, which will allow you to tactically pick and choose battles (a.k.a. bosses). Using this tool, both the assassin and the scoundrel could reach and defeat all the bosses on normal mode ( EXCEPTION: My assassin was NOT able to defeat Serevin. The healer companion could not heal himself and me to keep up with the damage. My scoundrel handled this fine.) On Hardmode, the Scoundrel appeared to have the distinct advantage. He could heal through tons of damage the boss was throwing out, both himself and the ranged tank companion. He could defeat Gork the Indomitable, A-14 & B-16, Jendo Krey, and Tregg by healing through the damage and moving his companion. My assassin could only defeat jendo, and that was by avoiding both his flame sweep and the missiles fired. Mathematically, The scoundrel has the unbelievable advantage. Over a 2 minute period, I calculated the total amount of damage an Assassin could absorb in 50% 146 gear 50% 126 gear( with a companion at all 126 gear) at 408,589.68. This includes ALL cooldowns, medpacs, healer healing, and skill healing, as well as mitigation and critical strike rating. In FAR inferior gear( NO implants, relics, all 126 level gear), a scoundrel could handle 422,227.84 damage per 2 minutes, NOT including medpacs. Thus, for the total idealist looking to solo the hardest possible challenges... the answer seems to lie with the scoundrel/operative classes.
  3. Ok, so one of the prime things ive always wanted from a class is sustainability, or simply the ability to keep doing an action indefinitly. Swtor's healers came into the mmo world with sustainability unseen in mmos before; every class can follow a set routine so that they always have their resource available for healing. The purpose of this post isnt about what healer is the best or any of those common questions, but rather, to inquire as to which healer has the highest output healing rotation within a rotation that keeps an equilibrium of the healer's resource. In this question, i believe i have outed the sage/sorc as a candidate, as they tend to rely more on raw resource rather than sustainability( yes, i am aware of the consumption/NS usage, but this tends to create a messy web of force vs. health, as well as a relience on critical hits to keep the debuff from proccing) ; the commando/merc and the scoundrel/op must stay sustainable from the beginning of the fight, the reason why i believe it may be one of these two. However, im obviously open to anyone's opinions/findings on the matter, even if they completely refute me, as i am truly not the most experienced in this case. Should it make a difference, the healers rotation in the case i am creating would revolve around keeping only the tank healed; for easy purposes, we wont take into effect potential party damage
  4. Ok, so ive always been more of the solo type, preferring to test my character's abilities to their very limit against challenges that normally requires more than one person (i.e. a champion boss). From my tanking experience,( assassin tank, 50, juggernaut tank, 37) it seems clear that a healing character with a tank companion is far more viable for soloing the big guys than a tank character with a healing companion ( the companions just cant dish out enough healing to make up for the damage, even with your enhanced resistances.) To that end, it appears the healing class with the highest output, sustainable ,rotation would fit the role the best. Ive leveled a smuggler to 50 and seen some good ability, but a commando healer also seems viable. Ive never tried a sage healer, but their rotation seems too dependent on critical hits w/ innervate, as well as the use of sacrifice ( and is thus slightly less sustainable) However, i wouldnt be writing this post if i wasnt looking for the advice of some other, better experienced people, and am completely open to suggestions/advice.
  5. Both of you.... I had the same problem on my juggernaut. The way to get past this is to hit your spacebar at the pause, which will immedietly shift the frame to the next phase in the conversation. This WILL happen multiple times in the mission, in which you will have to do the same thing. However, i have not noticed it in anymore quests. Hope this helps!
