  1. It is to fix an issue in 2.0 that meant some people were CTD on clicking play. If you have only just downloaded the patch (more than 24 hours after it went live), then who knows? you may have been one of the players unable to access the game at all. Instead of complaining, be grateful this issue won't affect you.
  2. Yup. L50 characters (with completed story mission) not recognised. FPs that have been done to death, not recognised. Haven't checked op kills specifically as I only got to have a little glance before leaving for work, but there seems to be a lot not working at the moment, or I really have completed only 2% of the game
  3. I'd imagine we can upgrade from 6-9 at the station, just as we can from 1-6 already. Doubt it will cost anything like a couple million credits, though.
  4. launched in the same year as SWG and knocks spots off even some current day combat animations, so there were definitely engines available that could handle all the bells and whistles back then. Not that I am suggesting for one moment that animations appropriate to a high fantasy MMORPG would fit well in Star Wars, but to imply the technology wasn't available then (or is far superior now) is incorrect.
  5. OP, please check the customer service forums next time you have a problem. May save you from looking just a little <---> stupid.
  6. I do know someone who bought on the 8th in their timezone, but their confirmation email confirms they have early access. If your's doesn't, then you don't. They are ahead of GMT, so either that or one of the American timezones were used as the cut-off point. EDIT: Malastare's reply confirms a US time of midnight.
  7. GC isn't the place for roleplay. I'm with the mysterious 'lady' here However, I have seen a few anal comments directed by roleplayers to roleplayers when someone feels the lore isn't adhered to exactly as they interpret it (from the million star wars books they've read). It drives me crazy to be honest, particularly when the criticism comes from someone who wasn't even part of the roleplay, they just can't keep their arrogant mouths' shut and let others have their enjoyable experience.
  8. I especially love the irony of the OP's signature claim (and on that point OP, as a solo queuer you are just as likely to log into a warzone on the side of a group that includes a premade as you are to be facing them).
  9. There were quite a few threads here when BioWare were hiring (I think back in December) -
  10. When I was newer than I am now, I joined in a discussion of, among other things, the downside of the class stories. Specifically from my point of view, how they were so immersive it means multi-play takes a back seat for the majority of a character's levelling life and also how the acting and story is so defined freeform roleplaying is difficult when you are basically a clone of one of 8 different people (OK, 16 if we include gender). Someone agreed with my 'issues', describing the class stories as "SW:TOR's biggest strength and biggest weakness". I think this person summed it up perfectly, which is why on all my characters, despite enjoying their personal (ha!) stories, I am relieved when they are over and I can now partake in the MMO part of MMORPG, even if the RP part still eludes me. I know I am possibly in the minority but, for the reasons above, I am quite happy that our newest journey will be a faction based story and not an individual one. Now I can share an adventure with my fellow players as opposed to keeping schtum because actually roleplaying my story would mean "SPOILERS!!" for someone else. I also think that if further Acts are added to our class story, they would never be on same scale or of the same quality as the three we have already and we all know what road that would lead down...
  11. I hope those of you who can't get in will have the issue fixed shortly. If it makes you feel any better, Alderaan is still glowing gold
  12. 1. The Gree event is no small fry as far as content goes. 2. The great thing about the Cartel Market is, you don't need to spend a penny of hard cash if you want to access the content that brings too. 3. Subscription packages are no longer the only business model to finance the game. Get over that.
  13. I can honestly say that in 5 months of being here I have never heard anyone complain about the actual cost of the monthly subscription
  14. Couple of threads about this in Customer Service which include a potential fix.
  15. *snort* I will have to log my character out naked next time...and with a pet too apparently.
  16. But it is no longer early game, it is over one year old. Are you seriously telling me that a player who has every crew skill maxed, a legacy of characters that mean each receive Heroic Moments as well as every buff going is as 'needy' as a new player on their first character? Come now.
  17. Well we seem more in agreement than not. Which is great, cus mods come and go, it's all about the look
  18. What makes you think he was paraphrasing? Hording {sic} has a very specific definition which wouldn't fit if the OP was passing on things he had no need of.
  19. Have you ever tried it? It always works for me when I run a FP for a chance of a specific drop, not because it is an upgrade but because I like the look, or it will be an upgrade for my companion. I declare it right at the beginning and so far have not had one refusal...though obviously I may not win the roll.
  20. Nonetheless there are swathes of players who do just this, almost as many as there are those of us who pass on primary stat gear when we don't need it. This is why I say the convention fails when it comes to 'fairness', although I understand that in spirit at least it attempts to be fair.
  21. Um, no I didn't. I took it directly from the OP. Edit. And that he was accused of hoarding implies he was needing on the loot he didn't need and that others were sticking to the (unfair) convention that says do not use the need button for vendor or companion items. If the OP was passing and allowing others a share of the loot, I doubt there would be any issue, but I believe he was using the need button to greed, especially as this was not a one off but occurred twice in a row. I doubt anyone believes drops are anything other than RNG based.
  22. Fair enough. I have only seen it recently (last 4 weeks or so) then it went away then came back yesterday, which is why I tenuously tied it to the xp event.
