  1. Tank and healer are rare in every MMO. Even if you use Group Finder, as a DPS the average wait in a game like WoW was between 40 mins to 1 hour. Oh, and that's cross-server. Solution: roll a tank or healer, or stop QQing and live with your choice. Try learn to send tells. Most people don't pay any attention to public chat, if they have them on at all. On my DPS alt I always find groups relatively fast with whisper-spam.
  2. Here's a tip on ballon: NEVER EVER stop moving. If you ever go afk due to inaction, or if you use ANY stationary emote such as /sit or /dance, then you will be kicked off.

  7. Credit sinks are there to prevent/slow down inflation. The relevant theory is the classic quantity theory of money. M*V=P*Q M = total amount of money in circulation on average in an economy during a period. V = the average frequency (or velocity) across all transactions with which a unit of money is spent. P = is the price level associated with transactions for the economy during the period. T = is an index of the real value of aggregate transactions. Since this is a MMO, T rarely changes unless new content (i.e. expansion pack, higher level caps) becomes available. The most relevant indicator for V is how frequently AH is being used by players. M, of course, is the amount of credits in the market. A good example of where M got out of hand is Zimbabwe. Unlike the real world, where the amount of money in circulation is usually controlled by some government department, people in a MMO constantly generate additional money out of thin air through enemy drops, vendoring items and quests. If any player earns credits without another player losing that same amount, then that event contributes to inflation, assuming all other things being equal. When M increases, and if V and T remain the same, then on the other side of the equation P, the price level, will consequently increase. Credit sinks serve to reduce the net inflow of credits into the market. When a player spents 2.5 million credits buying a landspeeder, when players spent credits removing mods, repair gear, train or even when players pay for taxi and ship fuel, M decreases. Any transaction which reduces a player's wealth without involving trading with another player helps to stablise or reduce the market's inflation.

  9. Just like WoW right? Every reasonable MMO has a /stuck command. Without it once your character is stuck you'd have to contact customer support and waste much more time than waiting a few minutes for the command cooldown.
  10. I thought it was alright, simply because you get to meet Jace Malcolm. BW made such a detailed model for him. He should see more action.
  11. You need to learn to make money and keep money. From the sound of your post, there is nothing wrong with Legacy, but you yourself are clearly spending beyond your means. Grinding is one way to get credits in SWTOR, but there are lots of less tedious ways. Playing the AH is one, but effective money-management by itself is also sufficient to keep yourself a small fortune even from quest money. I can clearly see a lot of uses for the both the global Legacy unlocks (all characters) and the perks (individual characters). You are also making a lot of false assumptions. Individual Legacy perks are dirt cheap compared to global unlocks. I can definitely see some benefit is unlocking QT travel time on my AH alt and my main, but there clearly is no reason to unlock exp bonus or Legacy speeder training on a level 50 character. Those perks however can be very useful for some of my other alts.

  15. If the chat gets annoying, I simply turn chat off. A lot of people do that, so nobody uses General chat much anymore except for finding groups. I'd rather have it this way than Barren chat on every planet.
  16. Some of them aren't even wearing Recruit Gear. So yeah, it says a lot about some of the people who complain that Marauders being OP. Every other class is probably OP to them as well.
  17. You are in the huge minority. Being overleveled won't stop you from clearing a planet; being underleveled will. It's unlikely that you will get any treatment for a very long time, considering that there are so many more important things BioWare should be taking care of first.
  18. Always kick, simple as that. If the item is exceedingly rare or special, which is extremely unlikely, then I'd open a ticket if the person truly has no justifiable reason for rolling on it.
  19. No. First come first serve. If somebody has already taken the name on the server and you transfer in, then they keep the name and you lose yours. Simple as that. What has been suggested by devs in regards to mega servers is similar - they plan on increasing the server concurrent player cap, so that lots of players from different servers can transfer to these servers. Whether you choose to transfer or not is up to you.

  21. People have been CRRRRRRRRRWAAAAHAHAHAHAYING for months now to have server mergers, and now when they are finally here people start calling them market ploys? Typical forums.
  22. Cut content. Remove quests, dialogues and even full areas from a planet. There is too much content being loaded up on each planet, removing the content will reduce load times.
  23. They are doing a better job than Blizzard is with Diablo 3. I'm so back.
  24. Arguable. The server is very heavy, but it's not that full yet. If it's truly full to the brim, then it will probably enter a "locked" phase where people can't even create new characters on the server. At the moment you can still reroll on Fatman, so I imagine a very limited number of paid transfers to Fatman may be possible.
