  1. Seriously? Cathar is what we're getting? Anything else? How can you mess up playable species in a STAR WARS game? There's so many to choose from and they consistently choose wrong.
  2. Just one? I've got a whole list. One of the most well known ones is that Pokemon games in Japan have casinos. Go to places like the US and suddenly they have Voltorb flip (more of a mathematics puzzle).
  3. Gambling in games is a touchy issue that changes from country to country. Since they won't likely give multiple methods due to having countries with different standards and laws and requirements I doubt they'd bother.
  4. Everyone is always talking about community. The community or lack of is a symptom of a bigger problem.
  5. Character development, specifically your companions, really is worse than ever in SWTOR. I felt more attachment and development in the first TOR. These companions are lifeless and rarely speak. When they show life it happens so rarely in between lots of nothing that it makes them lose whatever gains they had. KOTOR started it and it was good. Mass Effect really perfected it (almost). SWTOR seems like a largely backwards step when it comes to companions.
  6. I wouldn't say KOTOR was "the best". It was great certainly. Among the top. But I agree with the general idea. KOTOR was awesome. KOTOR 2 wwas.... not as good but still decent. SWTOR... too stretched. Too little quality story content filled with fillers. Plus it's basically not taking any risks and going the "WoW route" which while that MMO style used to be awesome it's by now overused and overdone.
  7. I unsubbed. In the end I just realized it wasn't worth it to me to play through 90% filler to reach the 10% goodness. I realized these past few weeks where I barely did anything in game that I didn't really miss it. I do want to experience the rest of the story and think it's a shame I'll miss out but the cost is too high. The carrot on a stick mentality and the filler just doesn't work on me the way it used to. I think years of WoW really killed MMOs for me and if this game came out back then it would blow it out of the water and I'd be having a blast. But times change. Tastes change. I can't do it anymore. I hope MMOs evolve soon. And I know it's unrealistic to expect there to be nothing but goodness but I do think it's pretty possible. I mean, I've put hundreds of hours or more into a few non-MMOs that just had gameplay that was so fantastic I kept playing and playing. These games would be stuff like Pokemon (seriously, MMO this thing stupid Nintendo...) which I put in like 1000 hours in the first generation alone and there's 5 generations now and it's a single player game (mostly). Some FPS games I've put a lot of time into. Battlefield 1942, Team Fortress 2, both Left 4 Deads. If MMOs want to get rid of grind they have to stop it with this cookie cutter MMO style (basically WoW-ish) and put in some killer gameplay. If the "fillers" of swtor were actually FUN like any number of great games out there that many people can spend ridiculous amounts of time playing then they'd be set. Writing 1000 hours of story is likely impossible but making ridiculously fun gameplay is NOT. Sadly, swtor's gameplay does not make up for it's filler. It's PvP is decent but honestly there's a LOT of better PvP in other games. It's single player filler missions are... bleh and a heck of a lot of games do better there. I think the next great MMO will have a mix. A great story that doesn't overfill or stretch. Yes, that might mean it doesn't last as long however fill that will "filler" which doesn't suck. Mix it with amazing gameplay in singleplayer/multiplayer and PvP.
  8. Anyone who thinks the motivations and explanations for him going to the darkside were enough without him being batpoo insane is just wrong and doesn't know writing. In the end of the only viable reason that he went to the dark side is that he has some kind of mental disorder. Anakin is seriously just insane. He's mentally unstable. That's why he fell so easily.
  9. I don't think calling story interested people "casual" is accurate. More like anti-pointless grind.
  10. The truth is most of these filler missions feel like those "bandits stole my wagon! kill 15 of them!"... Voices don't help make boring stories better. There are countless missions which send me to go fix something, kill someone or whatever that's just as pointless as other MMOs. Then they hide the kill X/X in the bonuses for missions. It's really basically the same for the filler quests as any other MMO.
  11. My concerns aren't with server population or anything like that... it's... Basically, when I play this game I can have fun. However, the game seems so thin on quality content. I like good story. However the story is thin. Literally. It's like the main class story and a bit of the other stories are good and all. But then the majority are stories that are "filler" or stories that aren't that good and are put in simply to give you something to do. They usually don't add anything to the experience or story. And they get quite old. I spacebar through them. There's no point to these stories except to give you more and more to do.... and it REALLY feels like it. I feel like I'm on a world that's a series of islands in a vast desert. Most of the time I'm wandering the desert, being surrounded by filler and bored but occasionally I get to an oasis (a class story, a good "filler") and all is good. But then I'm off to do a lot of boring filler missions in between these islands. So basically, I'm not having the most fun much of the time and it feels a bit like a grind. Story is supposed to mask grind. These supporting unimportant stories usually don't. I mean how many times can I go fix someone's gear or kill X/X things or whatever? These parts of the game are designed specifically to lengthen the experience and inhibit the quality. They're stories that are mundane and nobody in their right mind would write outside of an MMO (for the most part, some are fine). So that's really my beef. The story is good but it's spread so thin. The good experiences are stretched to the limit. If you just piled the class stories on top of each other and the occasional good filler the game's experience would be 20x better. Though admittedly probably 20x shorter which is a problem for an MMO. Still... This coupled with the fact that I really want to enjoy doing alts however doing that same group of filler is boooorrrring. The class episodes and occasional non-class mission again, great. But there's so much obvious "we made it to lengthen the gameplay" in between it makes it sooo painful. Then leveling on Warzones or.... space (lol) isn't quite up there in diversity of gameplay (need more maps and mods like Capture the Flag... why do MMOs usually have the SMALLEST selection of this stuff?) or fun (I'd more likely play an FPS or something that's designed to be constantly fun in multiplayer). That aaand my job is making me play more rarely.... I'm on the fence still. Dunno if I'll do it. I've been on the fence for all of SWTOR. $15 a month....
  12. I guess. The Star Wars original trilogy are my favorite movies. I haven't really liked any Star Wars nearly as much since then. The Prequels range from bad (Episode I) to just a decent flick (Episode III). None are legendary. The Clone Wars TV show is clearly made for children and really lacks an level of depth or quality. EU mostly doesn't interest me because half of it is just bad and much of the rest is ridiculous. As for people saying franchises this big are basically immortal, you're wrong. Though obviously Star Wars won't die any time soon I wouldn't call any franchise immortal. There have been previous hugely popular franchises throughout history that were ridiculously successful and if you mentioned them today most people wouldn't know anything about them.
  13. I don't mind that they're rare. What I mind is that some of the other more ridiculous colors are so common. Then black/color combinations are kind of stupid looking and should be rarer...
  14. GM corruption. Bioware needs to get on top of this and respond.
  15. You didn't read the thread as your replies make no sense.
