  1. you were pulled up, you didnt see the animation because the moment he clicked pull the system knew to kill you just like force leaping a lightning sorc you dont see the leap it just feezes for a moment and then your stunned in front of them. And it didnt say who killed you because it was the system that killed you theirs fall damage, fire damage, acid damage, and ofcourse when you enter part of the map your not allowed to, KILL damage.
  2. I have a question: What's the point of having Expertise stats? Why do we need different gear for PvP and PvE? Can't we just lose Expertise and make it so everyone can use all gear for anything and only the base stats count towards having better gear?

Is it really not obvious to you? BALANCE!. Expertise is bioware's chosen method of enforcing what gear or specifically mods you are allowed to use in PVP to prevent PVE heros from dominating the game. While bolster exists to add an extra layer of gear balance to keep everyone even against each other. So, in PVE you always have something to shoot for but no matter how highly you gear yourself you will never out-perform a PVP'er wearing a pvp set 1vs1 . So, as a PVE player you have an advantage against the environment while a PVP player will have the advantage against players.

Now heres why its a one way trade off, for the above reasons PVE gear cant PVP without bolster but PVP gear can PVE, this is because just like PVE'ers PVPers are still playing the game and deserve the same rewards but when it comes to warzones and other PVP ops bolster allows the PVE gear to be as good in PVP as PVP gear is in PVE.

So thats your answer, pvp balance enforcement that does not undermine overall player advancement.

  3. Simple question, I find it impossible to kill a scoundrel, because he can heal, roll, go invisible, mezz me, heal up, kite me all over the map etc...

I spent the whole time in one warzone trying to kill one of them but they were kiting me everywhere, i pulled them to me and they just stunned me and went invisible...basically they were taunting me the whole match but i couldnt kill him...

I'm fully geared/augmented, half my gear is conq BiS, I have no trouble killing other classes but i cant kill a scoundrel.

If they're a scoundrel healer with guard with another healer on their team...well theres no chance they're gonna die even if 3 of you are attacking it

DOTs get me every time and cure rarely sheds them all immediately which prevents a successful vanish and totally trips me over.

  4. I don't think so... as you said, PvP gear is plain simple and easy to get, on the other hand "normal" PvE gear is not.

So... those with the resources, time and dedication would be the ones that are more powerful.

If you cant put aside the time it takes to get a pvp set you are clearly on the wrong server my friend and i would go as far to say playing the wrong kind of game as well, i recommend dota2.

As for swtor no longer issuing a free pve set complete with milk and yoda shaped cookies for you well thats simply not my problem buddy.

  5. Make smash not auto crit.

hehe yeah that would get more of us playing VG 4sure, i do like the idea of only criting the taget effected by force leap and force crush,

  6. oh god, not another ops is OP QQ.

What exactly is wrong with healing now? Is it the 1300 heal per tick of kolto probes? Or is it the the 3k surgical probe which can only be spammed when a person is under 30% (how much does vicious throw take again?). Is it the channeled kolto infusion which heals for 5-6k? Oh wait it's that magic roll that heals for 1 bajillion, costs almost nothing., mezzes everyone around you for 1 hour unless they are hit during that time in which case they are turned into a chicken and must dance for the rest of the duel. Yup its the healing.

lol i think my op is doing it wrong then XD

  7. As we all know smash is fine against a single target but in warzones the damage it pulls overall is just not fair (why i play the spec instead of VG and why wouldn't I) so here is a fix idea i had while playing and wondering how it could be controlled better without taking the damage that the jug or mara wants to be doing to his respective target.

Mechanic, Smash now knocks back all surround players not effected by force leap's root effect or force crush 3 meters before immediately producing an after shock wave that deals the damage.

This would still make smashing a group possible but harder to do damage to all of the warrior would need to exploit situational opportunities and players would have to balled up tighter to be damaged. As a fair trade off the knock back would give the warrior some defense from other warriors or bubble stuns and such even reveal stealthers and still break other CCs. and naturally anyone fully resolved, entrenched, has hydros up wont be knocked out of the damage radius so a clever warrior might still be able to grab those massive points.

Anyway that's my only real constructive input i wanted to throw in while the pvp patch is being developed hopefully i kept it short enough

  8. So I was just playing my sniper, I fought an assassin with 300 expertise while I myself had full PvP gear so 2018 Expertise and I am not saying im the best sniper ever but I know I am a really good one, but this assassing got me down to 2K health before I won, I would just like to point out that this should NOT happen to a class designed to kill Assassins/Shadows Sorc/Sages it should not be happening, snipers were said to be OP I get that but don't nerf us so much that we cant even PvE or PvP.

2 things here first. 1, i think its more like assasins are Overpowered rather than you are underpowered http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWDOdEJ7h94&feature on all 4 of my toons i have seens sins/shadows stun me and kill me within that 4 seconds granted this requirs everything to crit and remember 20K expertise is what 30% more damage/reduction? i may be wrong here its been a while since i actually checked that figure. 2nd is snipers are NOT geared to take down sins (and ops) infact its the total opposite, the rock paper scissors is that you root and shoot warriors/tanks and obvi dps sorcs with superior damage until the sin jumps you the second your vulnerable i don't think any class hard counters sins maybe a powertech will have enough DPS and mitigation but i see sins just role through players so fast it borderlines hacks and that includes my own level 35 assassin.

BTW, you really should offer more details here, was this a duel? a gank? in a WZ or pts arena? do you have screens shots or footage?

Finally this is a role relative MMORPG, if your in a 1vs1 situation in a warzone your doing it wrong.

  9. The problem is that Maras can snare the sorc on the spot and just cut them to bits in no time at all they litterally force you to swap shots with them and thats a contest a sorc will never win. Yes the sorc can use CCs but what good is that when the sorc cant move between casts or at all? in the duels linked above YES the sorc completely sucks and im not even a good sorc myself but on thew other hand the mara isnt even using his snares which is Odd because the duel would be over in seconds
  10. Honestly, I think that expertise shouldn't exist at all, nor even bolstering.

There should only exist "gear" (consider it as you wish) and the strongest ones would be, of course, those who dedicate the most to the game.

then this game would be a gear2win joke. im sorry but how long does it take to get your pvp set? 2 days, 3 if your casual about it? how long does it take to get the top pve set and no one is going to pvp without that, this game would die faster than Forge. go play sto if you want to see how well pvp does in a game that does not separate gear your allowed to PVP in from pve gear.

  11. I interpret your "PAY" as paying real money, aka cartel coins. That's not true at all, you can buy it for 1M in-game creds as long as you are legacy 40. People have been crying about how legacy doesnt mean anything and when we finally get a legacy restriction/unlock (depending on how you see it) we have people crying about that.

Mitch Hedberg - Can't please all the people all the time and yesterday all those people were at my show.

Its not the legacy restriction that bothers me, its the fact that a new player can just buy past it, which tells me that those willing to dip into their pocket are more important to bioware than those who have and will play the game long enough and hard enough to obtain that level and get it fair on only their sub. think about it is it fair that you pay your sub as many times as it takes to unlock it and not to mention have the patience to wait and work towards this reward while FTPers can walk in and buy this companion strait away? or did you pay the sub, and then pay for the companion? because you know what you have done if thats true right? you paid for a game, paid a sub for the added content, and then paid for that added content oO because BW placed an inconvenience for you that being the 1mil creds and legacy level and charged you to remove it. this isnt a game anymore, its a cash grab and the game is there only to advertise the cartel products to you. go take a look at the size of the dailys planet if you want a sense of how much bioware care about care for expanding the actual GAME content

And if you think about it this is why augs and stims exist in the game, you need to spend all your time grinding and grinding your creds for this so you can keep up in PVP, double XP weekends yay i can level an alt so keep needing all the creds i can get. thats way it helps to spend real money to get the extras but im paying a sub for these extras im not paying extra and i certainly NOT going to play a game that inconveniences me in a pathetic attempt to push me into paying that extra. * unsubs.

  12. I would almost care if I ever left the fleet.

But then again in OWPVP Treek probably wouldn't care that she was getting 4FPS.

Overpowered Ewoks... never thought I'd see the day. People will cry about anything I suppose.

I see your something of an alt-aholic, i would be 2 if the only thing in this game that interested was the WZs, but its more like the only thing that has kept me playing, the last shred of integrity and how much content have they added to that while they shovel more cartel items into the game? well i suppose we can always just level another character while we wait if whats there has become too stagnant, oh snap

  13. I'd love to see the rage on the forum from the people questing and just starting an elite mob, when an a**hole comes along, cowardly attacks them while they are already fighting a mob and on top of that, as soon as the other player attacks them, their companion disappears

This where Tank companions come in the most handy, often iv ambushed players on ilum in the DOI heroic and they pull out a tank that aggros all the mobs and my own comanion, leaving me to face him alone O_O i miss all that allot a good hour or 2 fighting quinwyn and co in posion strat, brawling randomes by the jedi temple ruins then onto darkness of ilum to return the favour of hosting a little PVP raid of my own, awesome! but most only want easy creds so don't even go to ilum anymore, best creds best PVP it is perfect but no one wants it :,(.... Now im lucky to get a good scrap if i just sit and wait inside their base but it can be worth the wait at times win or loose.

But back to my OP, when i say Pay2Win im not just talking about beating other players thanks to money which is what most people think that phrase means it also extends to getting ahead in general. making players need the level 40 legacy OR paying cash (credits aside) tells me bioware have totally disregarded the core fundamental of the game for subscribers its another convenience item and therefore an inconvenience is placed for us who dont pay, another thing i have to grind for (well not me but certainly alot of other players) or just click the add coins button and credit card wins again. the more things like this Bioware add, the more they cheapen the overall game, SWTOR is becoming the joke of the internent for this, once a 200.000.000 dollah MMO now just another disposable free2play, IMO bioware have given up and forgotten the subscriber.

  14. So iv seen this new companion has been added and in swtor cartel tradition is a mediocre to look at as ever, However its been said to me that the companion has some vastly superior elements including a higher amount of HP than other companions and improved healing which tells me swtor are now selling an advantage to players inareas they can use their companion, areas like contested WPVP zones which to people like myself who love to look for trouble is a big part of the game does that not make said part of the game pay2win? or does treek also fail in ways that would make a typical healer like mako or quin favourable?

The other side of my concern is is what this means to the game's business model. to a level+ legacy account holder like me 1mil creds isn't all that much infact its a welcome excuse to do dailys and as a proud owner of 4.5 level 55 toons its not going to take long but level 40 legacy requirement or just cash tells me its a convenience item because you can play for it right? but heres my concern, in order for there to be a convenience to sell, bioware must first create an inconvenience which in this case is not having the best companion in contested areas (dailys planets) if im a new player i have to grind my legacy to 40 and make 1 mil after my augs and stims costs to get on that ever ground against potential gankers even then im thinking XP boosts for my legacy etc and this casts a huge shadow on my trust in bioware. warhero crystals in lowbe is one thing, but pulling levers to make me (a subscriber) feel like i need to spend money to keep up with others or in my own case more that others should spend to keep up with me or suffer a hard beating out on ilum or black hole because i have a better healer comp, i mean if BW have gone this far to encourage me to spend on top of my sub how much further will they go?

IMO if something can be questioned as P2W or shady and unfair even in a co-op sinario its just exactly that and the end of that game and its developer BUT THATS JUST ME, i imagine most people will have Treek along with everything else in rthe legacy/cartel shop or at least have the means to obtain it fairly if you use the forum then you should and so im going to come under fire from anyone who doesn't want their investment attacked i get that but please conduct yourself maturely becuase most people looking at getting a new game look first at the forum and especially posts like this and that includes the communities attitude and response to the issue that are raised.

TLDR does treek offer an unfair advantage in WPVP encounters? And is it a general advantage that we are now inconvenienced for not having.

    On a personal note.

Whether treek is pay2win or not, whether its better or even different from another companion or not these new cartel items are making it so swtor is just as rewarding if not more so to the wallet warriors than it is to the long time subbers who put time and effort into the game. i can buy cooler crystals, armour pieces, titles, mounts, pets i can even buy valor which is supposed to be your title for how much PVP you have played now 25% of that is potentially meaningless its a cash item. IE why should i bother working hard to get nicer gear and items to show off, better titles, better companions, all these show how serious i am about the game to those around me which certainly helps if im looking for groups or guilds ect which is what MMOs are built around or i can just spend money?

when this game first went free2play it was like an open trial with a token shop so people could come and see how good the game is and why its worth subbing, now it seems the opposite to me which tells me not only did the majority of those people think well no it isnt worth subbing ut il spend some spare change on this or that cos the rest is free but also that bioware agreed with those people and have since been working to catre for that crowd instead of improving the game and consequentially that overall decision of this game's FTP thruput.

TLDR when BW add a convenience item they are really giving us an inconvenience unless we pay on top of our sub and for every reward that accomplishing and completing greater feats and achievements in this game their seem to be cooler things you can just buy.

And am i the only one noticing that the more that appears in the cash shop the less content is being added to the game in terms of game playability.

  15. I've been in a game with 4 tanks (yeah, you guessed right, I do tank half of my pvp time as I like annoying people and make a difference). and 3 heals. That was interesting AH.

Very often I see tanks, usualy assassin tanks in dps gear and 0 protection, but still.

Balance thing is interesting when we think about it.

Many games have been filled with smash. many with snipers mostly. if we would make sure to have just <2-3 heals>+<2-3 ranged dps>+<prefferably one tank>+<fill with mele dps> it would make warzones 'even' but would kill some heavy healer+tank tactics forcing same boring zerg da mid games.

    and boring kills games.

now it's random composition vs random. no fixed strategies, full of suprizes, making people adapt to situation they'r in (or leave)

Well this is another reason to leave tanks out of role cue for pvp because of tanks in DPS gear who just want the survivability or healer hybrids etc front mid and back just works better because if your team doesnt have all 3 your toast 9 times out of 10 no matter how much you adapt

  16. Because its a faster way of getting a gear set that can stand up to any PVE set and then some without being better at PVE than any PVE set, make sense?

Set vs Set expertise does make too much difference partizan vs dragon or whatever it is, But if it was any less player would mix the 2 and become even more powerfull than a current full PVP set, still with me?

But if you want to PVP in WZs, Events, Duels and contested areas then you have no excuse not to be in a full set of PVP gear at all times.

So in summery you can switch out any PVP piece with PVE and geain more stats without gaining any advantage over players from those added stats as you loose expertise, of course its not exactly fair that if you lose too much expertise you get mulched by players so they have added bolster to fix that in WZs and event areas But as i said if you want to PVP anywhere else you wear PVP gear.

A complicated system but necessary. Personally I prefer the GW1 system that armour is entirely cosmetic and you can have whatever mods you like any time you want which would work great for this game and IMO bioware should just use that system and make the shells actually require valor as well as the WZ coms so they actually mean something easthetically and save us all a bunch of time and QQ but meh if it works in the long run i guess.

  17. ok, why not tanks  you want to separate ranged and mele dps and heals... why not tanks

Im just being realistic here, how many people play Tanks in PVP? except for me and im guessing, You? Melee/ranged and heals is front line, midline and backline so makes more sense from a BG point of view for a game as populated as this one is.
