  1. I try but school and research work get in the way Oh well, I guess the trials and tribulations make one stronger ha
  2. Yes I've read them and no they do not touch on this subject at all except for maybe a brief mention of what we already know in that the humans and Sith (species) interbred. The humans in those books did answer to Sith (Dark Side User) and Seelah Korsin was actually a slave before the crash but the hierarchy or if there were human Dark Lords later in the timeline after the Exiles arrived is not in there.
  3. (I have yet to finish the Knight Storyline. I do know of some spoilers but try to avoid it) We know from the end of the Revan novel through time in between that the Sith Emperor begins to use alternate bodies and keep his birth body hidden to protect it. When/How was his birth body destroyed and why was he protecting it if he can go on without it? Obviously Sidious' birth body was destroyed but he was still (if not more) super powerful with alternate bodies. Does this rule apply to Sith Emperor or is it the opposite or what's going on?
  4. A lot of this I concur with. The Ancient Sith dedicated thousands upon thousands of years of trial and error with Alchemy and Magic. Just that they were relatively speaking a bunch of experimentalists and not really dominate force users (with select few exceptions ie King Adas) so when the Dark Jedi arrived they were able to be in charge after some infiltration. Prior to their arrival the Sith had made a small empire for themselves from leftover Rakata technology of whom they drove off, led by Adas, in 27700 BBY. While we only commonly think of their being only 5 Dark Jedi Exiles there were actually several more that Syn states "were just lucky to make it through the war" but these 5 were the "chiefs" so to speak. Given that Sith had naturally advanced Dark Side techniques for thousands of years Syn feels as if they were destined to lose the 100 Years of Darkness War to discover Korriban. Then begins the mixing of breeds and even Sadow, Kressh, and Marka Ragnos were half breeds. For whatever reason humans end up being the much more prevalent species but it is stated that 97.8 of Vitiate's Empire comes from Sith pure-blood but the amount is essentially negligible. Edit: This question is more appropriate for the "Star Wars" portion of the forums as that is just for EU questions. Some of the regulars there are more knowledgeable than I.
  5. He is confirmed to have died in the Darth Plagueis but nothing is known as to how/when (he does NOT transfer his essence throughout thoughsands of years to Sidious as I've seen a couple posters say). His storyline is left to be determined
  6. I got a bunch of SW stuff. As some of you may inferred I've been into the EU stuff for a little less than a year so starting the collection of sources and knowledge later than some of you. And sadly other things keep me from catching up as quick as I'd like. Got a dual-bladed lightsaber, Book of Sith, Jedi Path, SWTORE, Jedi vs Sith essential guide, and the Jedi Academy Trilogy. Speaking of which I've been exclusively reading all novels/comics from TOR plus Darth Bane trilogy & Darth Plagueis. Would I be super confused if my first post-ROTJ novels were the Jedi Academy trilogy or is it advised that I read the Thrawn trilogy or something first?
  7. Hello all. Today Show did a short article/shared some OT set pics that Peter Mayhew put on his Twitter. Enjoy. http://www.today.com/entertainment/chewbacca-tweets-great-old-star-wars-photos-2D11906882
  8. I respectfully somewhat disagree. In my opinion if Disney was smart, they would keep as much as the post ROTJ EU as possible, keep characters in the movie that are from the EU, and reference events in the movie that take place prior to the movie's place in the timeline but after ROTJ (ie in A New Hope Luke does say to Obi-Wan "You fought in the Clone Wars?" before the idea of the "Clone Wars" was established. Not a stretch to replace the "Vong War" in that sentence). I approach the situation like this: no matter what characters are in the movie, there will be novels, comics, etc leading up to the release of the movie and for some time after the release. Now let's say in the movie they keep Han and Leia being married and having twins Jacen and Jaina, all these new works that I mentioned will come out but fans will also be inclined to buy other books (ie the ones out now) that deal with these characters. Now let's say Han and Leia are married but they instead have two sons named Mathew and Mark. Fans will buy the new material on Mathew and Mark but what new fan will buy old material on people named Jacen and Jaina? Not many if any. Thus if they keep as much post ROTJ EU they can sell both "old" and new material instead of just new material.
  9. Isn't there a Jaina Solo book trilogy (that begins?) coming out this year? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sword_of_the_Jedi_%28trilogy%29 I don't really know how these things work but to me it seems really financially impracticable and stupid to put out works that will later be disregarded. I don't think we should be so quick to assume the post-ROTJ stuff will be wiped completely clean. It seems that I have more faith in JJ Abrams than most but let's not forget that this is a guy who took two preexisting franchises (Mission Impossible and Star Trek) and made them more successful and, in my opinion, maintained (Mission Impossible) or bettered (Star Trek) the level of quality. To be honest given that he has continued and improved the success of two such franchisees, one of which also being "Sci-Fi" genre, there is no one else I would want working on the new trilogy than JJ Abrams. Let's also not forget that Abrams has been successful when starting with his own clean slate/ideas too. At the end of the day we have no say in what will happen so may as well be optimistic. I personally don't see Abrams discrediting much if hardly any at all of post-ROTJ and I also don't see Disney to be excited about that idea either.
  10. Spike TV had another Star Wars movie marathon this weekend for the holiday season and below is a link the their neat little promo for it. Hope you enjoy
  11. Hello all. Have a quick scrub question for anyone that can help out quick. When an item in your inventory/that you are using says "Item will permanently bind to you in ...", what does that mean? For example, I have this message for my current lightsaber. Does this mean I won't be able to sell it ever or I won't be able to use any other lightsaber after the time expires? Thanks!
  12. Yes that scene is fine. The part of the movie that OP quotes refer to are examples of what I refer to as being wooden and unemotional. The opening bit of ATOC when they argue about Padme's security is another example of showing not convincing emotion in my opinion. The bit of ATOC when Padme falls out of the Clone ship while following Dooku then Anakin and Obi-Wan argue is a 3rd example. Again all this is in my opinion. I think Hayden C does better in ROTS be it due to experience, instruction, script, etc. Edit: That scene really is a good example countering my point but to me I thought Hayden struggled a little with showing emotion in ATOC as a whole
  13. Hey! In my American high school we read R & J, Macbeth, and Julies Caesar then saw Othello, Hamlet, The Comedy of Errors (which was awesome!) at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Also read Beowulf and Canterbury Tales. Never doubt us again I kid I kid Back to the original question. I always thought that the script wasn't so good but also Hayden himself was kind of wooden and unemotional. As you say we don't know what he was asked to do but that's my opinion based on what I know. N Portman does better than Hayden but to me that just restates the difference in actor/actress talent.
  14. Can't recall the specifics, youtube link or more info?
  15. I seriously hadn't noticed that guy in the movie before. It's awesome to see as now I have some movie validity to back me up when I daydream about duel wielding sabers and switching forms haha :D
  16. This one looks the other way actually in my opinion like how Marek holds them. Look at how the guy slashes with his R hand the stabs at a droid on the ground with his L hand. Don't think this could be done holding the normal way. Edit: Doesn't really matter, was cool to see and hadn't noticed it before!
  17. Favorite scene. When Yoda first busts out his lightsaber in Eps II and shows us a new meaning of saber mastery. Awesome. Just awesome
  18. I've always kept up with this thread, but just thought of another joke. This is what Darth Baras thinks when he sees anything and everything on a day to day basis: http://img.pandawhale.com/54077-get-in-my-belly-gif-Fat-Bastar-hjHk.gif
  19. Agree, I also consider Sadow and Kreesh overrated relative to the info we have
  20. I know, it seems a lot of people think she is a scrub and like to take points away from Malgus by saying he stalemated her..without knowing she's no joke
  21. Don't get me wrong, I like Plagueis but the last twenty years of his life it was all Palpatine that was executing the Grand Plan. Plagueis was a researching hermit after the assassination attempt in 52 BBY and the novel states directly that he only mingled with one or two clients while Palpatine did everything else. Plagueis laid A LOT of groundwork but it seems that a lot of people forget that Palpatine was lead dog for 20 years before he was elected.
  22. I see. Definitely worked on me as I went to Wooki to read more about him after reading this thread! I watched ANH again like a couple weeks ago. Typically whenever I watch a movie I've seen I'm usually doing other things during the opening credits. Actually paying action this time, I noticed that the opening paragraphs refer to the Empire as "evil Empire" or "sinister plans" etc. thus making a clear distinction of "good vs. evil" for the movie. I find it interesting in the EU that you have characters such as Janek Sunber that can make the lines a little gray ie good people on the other side. I hope I don't start a huge philosophical debate with this post but pretty much just noting my brief observation and interpretation.
