  1. (Nyriss somehow finds out about the new Sith Rule of Two) Nyriss: "You are an abomination to the word Sith, there's no way you could be more pow(choke sounds)" : (Force Choke) "I find your lack of faith distributing". The end.
  2. First I will say I prefer TOR era and especially TOR era Sith but I can put that aside. Scourage at the time at which he faced Nyriss has been grossly overestimated. Scourage had more problems/time of battle defeating 1. the mercenaries attempting a drive by and then 2. with Darth Xedrix's apprentices than Nyriss had with disabling him. There is also no information on the quality of his instructors at the academy and there's a big difference between not wanting to face someone and knowing that you are inferior. There is also no information on the worlds in which Nyriss conquered. I always thought that the worlds in the Unknown Regions were uncivilized (by the SW definition of not having hyperspace travel) and if this is truly the case, then how would these worlds be able to compete with the military might/tech and Force Power Nyriss would have? No way they could. Also, all this talk of how competitive the Non-Rule of Two Sith were I find to be exaggerated as well. If they truly were at each others' throats all the time then have does a dwindling guy down to the level of scrub like Xedrix stay on the council so long? If the answer truly is his reputation then it seems the Sith of that era/empire didn't really have any backbone. Darth Vader has quite the body count in which we can accurately judge the opponents he faced. The only time he has been affected by Lightning is when his suit was already damaged. He has knowledge of lightsaber forms that were not even around during Nyriss' time. Due to the limited information of Nyriss and Vader's ballerness this should be obvious.
  3. Ha, no I meant that my team (Falcons) have had their logo/name replaced by the Ryloth Interceptors
  4. A little joke by nfl.com changing up helmets and logos. My team is now the Ryloth Interceptors. Enjoy! http://www.nfl.com/photos/0ap2000000323761
  5. That was my guess, that book has a special place..on my amazon wish list unfortunately lol
  6. Not doubting you but just curious, where was this stated?
  7. Yes I agree, and Plagueis' final words in calm, calculated, and menacing voice to Malgus will be "Your old ways of the Sith Order are dead. A new, more powerful, Order has already taken place." Then BAM
  8. Just wondering what part of my post are you referring to? If it is the "Book of Sith" thing I can post the quote later if interested/desired
  9. Thanks. I remember with the Naboo Royal they were just conversing across the room while he was killing that guy's midichlorians but obviously doing it mid-battle his concentration can't be as centered as it is just sitting and talking. Also I don't recall physical contact but it's a minor detail and I could be wrong. My question is more hypothetical/theoretical and not necessarily just Plagueis. In the "Book of Sith" Plagueis states that when Jedi of Old would server others' Force Connection they were killing off their opponents' midichlorians without realizing it. Among the many threads/posts on Caedus' power it was stated that he could Server and Reconnect people's Force Connection at will implying to me that this would make him also a master of midichlorian manipulation. Is there a way for Plagueis', Caedus', or other people with this ability's opponents to defend themselves from this or are they just out of luck? Keep in mind that I haven't read any Post-ROTJ material yet so my info on Caedus is limited and possibly incorrect. When N. Sunrider severeded Ulic it was a kind of surprise attack as he was morning his brother when it happened and when Plagueis does it to Venamis and the Naboo Royal (Verdun I think) the foremer is drugged and the latter is not Force Sensitive. Getting back to my question, is possible for a prepared Force combatant to defended him/herself from this?
  10. Question: Hypothetically could Plagueis just starting killing off Malgus' midiclorians at the start of the engagement or would a standard Force Barrier block this?
  11. The Sell-Dog Rankings: 1. Exar Kun 2. Darth Plagueis 3. Darth Bane
  12. I agree, LadyKulvax you should use this scenario as part of your resume to write a SW Novel!
  13. The Suggestion forums are a subsection of the General Forums. Link is below http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=349
  14. Thanks a bunch for the info and advice! Yeah reading Thrawn is definitely on my list just don't have it yet, didn't know much on the X-wing so that sounds awesome. Renting from a library is risky for me as my reading for fun time is inconsistent and may rack up a fine. I will definitely keep all the books you mentioned in mind moving forward! Thanks again
  15. Thank you all for the info and advice! @psandak, yeah I've definitely heard Thrawn is the best and definitely on my list. Just that it takes me a while to read because of other obligations so I'd rack up quite the fine renting from the library and may just read JA before buy Thrawn. @Beni, yeah definitely know what you mean. To be honest I have a man-crush on Exar Kun so I'll read these particular books whether they are canon or not just for the story. P.S. thanks a bunch for replying to my PM a while back @DarthDymond, awesome thanks a bunch for the info. For better or worse I've somewhat "spoilered" myself as I do some serious wooki from time to time so I have a general idea of Post ROTJ EU just not nothing too specific.
  16. As some of you may know or inferred, I'm relatively newer to SW EU and been picking up on books, comics, and lore over the past couple of years. Sadly, obligations have not allowed me to catch up to some of you in terms of knowledge as quickly as I would prefer, but hey all been fun. So far all my attention has been to TOR era and some ROE era. I received the Jedi Academy book trilogy for the holiday season a month ago. Will I be confused if these are my first Post ROTJ novels to read? Or is it recommended to read the Thrawn trilogy or something else first? Thanks.
  17. Thanks. That was my guess but wasn't sure as it's a 40 year time span and (40yrs) / (Jedi Order's Existence) is a small number and didn't know if they could make a drastic change so quickly. I'm pretty much just thinking out loud with that last sentence as to the reasons of my uncertainty not questioning your reply, thanks again!
  18. I have a question about this general era. During this time we have the Cathar couple (the couple with the male who joins Kun & gave him the scar and the female who hunts Qel-Droma later) and Sunrider, before she is trained by Thon, is married and has a child. Sunrider's husband is a Jedi and is not expelled or anything as we all know the marriage rules from the movie era. The Revan novel makes it seem as if Revan's marriage is an exception to the rule but I clearly find examples of Jedi, love/marriage, etc from Tales of the Jedi. Was this a mistake of the Revan novel or is there some in-universe explanation on how their views or romantic love interest/marriage/families change over time?
  19. I like them and my favorite two are Revan and Fatal Alliance. They are not connected in any order so you can do whatever you want. I liked Revan but I suggest it be read only if you have no emotional attachment to KOTOR characters. If you're a big fan, you may not like it.
  20. First off I was born in the late 80's and like the movies I'm about to list. These movies all have parts that are considered "corny" or "over the top" nowadays or "unrealistic fight scenes in what is supposed to be a real world movie" both then and now. Let's not be silly and act like one generation's films were so awesome and another generation's are terrible as this is the same tune that is played every 25 years. In fact, I can hear my grandfather's voice criticizing Steve McQueen movies (my father's hero) as I speak. Please remember again I like all these movies so these are all swept under the rug for me but just giving some insight of a different perspective. And if this will add any credibility my favorite movies are: Braveheart, Gladiator, Untouchables, and Last of the Mohicans. Favorite movie of the past 2 years is Jack Reacher. I'm not guessing whether or not you like these movies below but these are movies idealized from "back in the day": -James Bond villians from the late 60s-early 80s (Jaws, Blofeld, Oddjob). In fact these characters so much fall into these categories that the entire Austin Powers franchise is somewhat based on this perception -Highlander-watch when Connor is underwater and is surprised he is still alive, not the best acting/corny, even the memorable quote "There can be only one" applies here as well -Khan from "Wrath of Khan" looks more suited for a fashion runway somewhere than as a feared supervillian -True Grit 1969 (which btw is my favorite of this list), John Wayne has his horse's reins in his mouth, a rifle in both hands, riding his horse, shooting at moving targets outnumbered, and even turns around to shoot behind him at these targets and wins the day. I love the scene, but let's be honest that is over the top and unrealistic. Everyone is subjective and biased to one's preferences which in part will be due to the era in which they were born and have some nostalgia to. I truly hope I portray that I'm just giving a different perspective and not being ridiculous/rude.
  21. Ah I see, I misunderstood. I don't know I could see Magneto or Neo doing this effectively
  22. Right but this is a fictional universe with a mystical energy called the "Force" that is supposed to be able to heighten reflexes, speed, and strength. Not just a collection of people who choose to use swords instead of guns confined to real-world limits. Special effects technology has improved every year so what if the fights we see in the PT are more what GL envisioned all along but was limited to the tech of the time for the OT? Before this is immediately disregarded this has happened before in cinema, ie James Cameron had everything all drawn up for Avatar in the late 90's but wanted technology to catch up to match his vision. Don't get me wrong I like all the movies and fight scenes but it is even clear that the fights become more sophisticated and visually appealing/complicated from ANH to ESB to ROTJ (by the way in ROTJ Darth Vader throws his saber at Luke and I don't know how many experts on youtube do that..).
