  1. The font changes throughout the whole game are really causing me severe issues as well. On the character select screen I can’t even read the writing anymore for what my combat styles are on my characters without squinting and moving my face right up to the monitor. And I have brand new 27” monitors, so it isn’t screen size @1080p. I had no problems reading the classes before the expansion released. In the game it gets worse. I’ve had to increase my chat font size up from size 14 to 16 just to read it. And I have to move my face really close to the monitor to read text when I mouse over things since the expansion released. Anything that still has the old fonts is fine. But anything that’s been changed makes it nearly impossible to read from the usual sitting position. I can’t even look at the inventory / cargo windows because of the other problems I mentioned earlier.
  2. This isn’t just happening to you. There is a portion of the player base that can no longer play the game since these UI changes. We warned BioWare of this last year when they put this on the PTS. They didn’t listen and now we have this problem where playing the game is causing physical distress or injury to people. It goes against EA and BioWares own statements about inclusivity. Wether this was an over sight or they just don’t care, it doesn’t matter. It needs to be fixed fast or I can see someone foolishly pushing themselves to play and causing an injury that ends up leading EA/BioWare into a legal predicament. The new font, the colouring, the spaced and highlighted blocks are all contributing to eye strain for me. Which causes severe migraines and poor vision. I’ve had eye problems for years and to accommodate that in the past I avoided some types of games. But I’ve taken responsibility myself also paid extra money to have larger, good quality and low flicker monitors @1080p. I also wear special prescription glasses with anti reflective coatings while working with PCs or playing games. This has always been enough for playing swtor the last 9 years, but not anymore. No one is asking for special treatment here. We just want the fonts, colouring, box spacing and box highlighting back the way it used to be so we can continue playing as usual. I know we aren’t alone with these problems. There’s another bigger thread and reddit threads reporting these problems. https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=1001635 BioWares continued silence on this is making this much worse then it needs to be. It shows a complete lack of empathy and wilful arrogance by the team leaders who pushed ahead with this design after they were warned of the problems last year.
  3. The game has now become a shell of what it was. I can’t see it lasting till next year unless BioWare make some dramatic changes and march back some of the 7.0 systems and direction.
  4. Make your own. I’ve never bought one myself and I’ve 30 Alts I gear up.
  5. It is what they intended. It’s not a bug. They were told about this on the PTS in Oct/Nov last year. They said it was a work in progress and then didn’t change anything. If it was a bug they would put it on the list of known issues and we would have got a yellow post telling us it was. This is 100% working as they intended it too. They didn’t listen to any of the PTS feedback one bit that told them how terrible this design was on people’s eyes. If you dont believe me, go search through the PTS posts and have a read. I’d link them, but I honestly can’t be bothered with the effort anymore. BioWare honestly dont give a damn, I don’t see why we should have to spend time supporting our reasoning.
  6. It’s not how easy or fast it is to get 100k on your one character. Small guilds have less members who rely on them having many Alts to run through them to reach the guild invasion total. With the increase to 100k and the reduced repeatable conquest activities, that makes it much longer for individuals to get enough Alts through to get their guild invasion totals. Which means they get less done and get less star ship plans from conquest.
  7. Chris Scmitt is the main dev I’m referring to who went from swtor to anthem and back to swtor again. He’s the lead designer on swtor and all the **** decisions started when he came back. I believe he is the main architect to many of the things that were changed since his return.
  8. I always believe you should make your own choices and test it yourself first. But if time is a factor or you’re feeling lazy, then yeah, maybe wait and see if they announce fixes for 7.2 before coming back. That way you might miss out on feeling as depressed as the rest of us are.
  9. I whole heartedly agree that 7.0 is volumes worse than 5.0. The rage was similar and maybe not as bad as 7.0. But Bioware still stayed silent for months till they announced the departure of Ben Irving from swtor. What really surprised me is they promoted him, put him in charge of Anthem and he took a bunch of swtor Devs with him. Then Anthem fails and those same devs come back to swtor and destroy it with 7.0. Makes me wonder if it’s the dev talent or mismanagement. I also think EA will pull the plug on swtor this year. I can’t see swtor recovering from this and the EA guys are quick to save a dollar if they can.
  10. I don’t know. Do you remember the anger at Ben Irving after 5.0?. That was pretty bad and they stayed silent for 2 months. Then announced he was leaving swtor.
  11. They’ve always gone silent when the **** hits the fan. It’s their standard operating procedure. I doubt anything different will happen this time. Pretty sure it’s in their disaster recovery manual to stay silent and go down with the ship.
  12. But we all know they will do what they always do and stay in their cone of silence and maybe march Jackie out to divert attention occasionally. I was hoping those game news reddit posts would garner a reaction from BioWare. But 600 up votes doesn’t seem to be enough. Maybe a change.org petition is the way to accelerate the process?
  13. I wouldn’t hold out hope. BioWares past behaviour would suggest they won’t and even if they do, it will take 2 years. On a bright note, it seems FFXIV will be starting free trials up again on the 22nd. So we can at least test that before paying for it.
  14. My thoughts exactly. I think in 30-60 days those charts will show a drastic decrease in player numbers. Probably lower than before the expansion launched. That’s when BioWare will announce a new direction and that “they’ve listened to the players feedback”. Do you think they’ll do to Kieth what they did to Ben? Give him a raise and move him to run another game BioWare and EA are a weird company where people seem to be able to fail upwards instead facing consequences for poor decisions.
  15. It was the superior system for pvp gearing. And it was made perfect when they let us turn the pvp comms into chips to store extras for our Alts. 3 months later they launched 5.0 and ruined the best pvp gearing system they have ever had.
  16. You might find those articles I linked interesting to read.
  17. Definitely causing people to unsubscribe. What’s interesting is the Steam numbers are going up or staying steady and the feed back on steam is more positive than these official forums, reddit, Twitter or even the gaming media reviews. I guess we now know who their target audience was with this disaster of an expansion. It was all the free to play - preferred merry go round noobs on steam who they hope will spend money on the CM. It obviously wasn’t the loyal subscriber base that’s stuck around paying their wages and shareholder dividends for that last 10 years. I’m eagerly waiting to see what happens in 60 days when those numbers plummet.
  18. Their continued silence on the subject would suggest it’s not a priority for BioWare or they don’t think it’s a problem.
  19. I know of 5 for sure. I’ve cancelled this one too. But I’ve still got 27 days left till it runs out. What will be telling is what happens in 30 days time when the subs are up for renewal. How many will still be here then or in the game?
  20. And avoid picking the worst performing class for the best performing. There’s no middle ground anymore. Skill won’t help you balance out how poorly some classes have been treated. At least in the past you could blow past some of the class balance problems with enough skill. But some classes now don’t have the tools and others classes still do. Removing some cc and mez was always a good idea, but how they’ve done it is not balanced for pvp at all. It’s like the people on the dev team don’t play their own game enough to understand game play enough
  21. Be too late by then. Better to try and get them to fix it now instead of blowing warm fuzzies up their “you know what’s”.
