  1. Hi All, Haven't posted in a while, I'm noticing the inventory UI's brightness is giving me headaches. My eyes are hurting and before I know it, headache comes creeping in. Anyone else having these issues? I'm not one to suffer from headaches easily. Thought I'd ask if there was a solution to this without turning down the brightness of the screen itself.
  2. LOL.... I don't have much to say on the topic other than, thank you OP for all the info. Side note, this post is hilarious.
  3. From someone who loves to bank credits, I personally am not too much for the increased repair costs. But, that is because I have gotten so used to the previous repair cost system, which according to BW was bugged because it did not take into account the modifications inside the piece, whether it be armor, weapons, etc. But I am not going to cry about it, making a quick buck in SWTOR doesn't take that much time, however, I can tell you why the increased repair costs will have a negative affect in other aspects than people complaining about the increase. I feel and have witnessed that now, more than ever players aren't tolerable of wipes. I did a flashpoint the other night and our DPS just wasn't their, but it was bearable, as the healer, I didn't have to much an issue, our tank on the other hand began to get frustrated and after the first wipe left. Yes, this happened before, but what I am saying is now that people know the repair costs are more expensive, I wonder if that adds an additional factor in the probability he/she will ditch a group prematurely due to a misfortune or wipe. Lastly, I will say that my repair bills in operations has been somewhat difficult to bare. I was working on HM TFB and seeing 100k repair bills several times throughout the night does hit your morale pretty hard. I know I can make 100k in about 30 minutes through the dailies, but 300k is a different story. It also adds frustration to the group, more people get angry. Luckily my guild has increased the guild bank repair funds by 100% giving us 500k per week, but I was just trying to give you all an example, what if the same applied for a guild that couldn't use their funds for guild repairs. Just some thoughts. The increased repair costs aren't outrageous but in my eyes they weren't introduced "nicely" if you will. An increased cost wouldn't be so much a problem if it wasn't SUCH a big increase. Cheers!
  4. Hey guys, For those who don't understand what the big deal about waiting for the event to occur again, let me shine some light from someone who isn't participating in the event (for other reasons). I feel I have a non-bias approach. You tell me The thing with this event, and from seeing the rewards myself, you can't get anything this time around, at least anything that players would want as an accomplishment reward (could be wrong but from what I read and also remembering the costs/reputation). Having SOME rewards available is one thing, dangling a carrot in front of the player base with no, absolutely no indication of an end is another. So after two weeks of hard grinding, these tired players get NOTHING. (Again this is based on the information I know, read, and that has been provided). Which is an outrage, I can understand some of the bigger/better items to require time to acquire, sure, like a speeder, or a super great weapon sure, but at least introduce basic stuff that can benefit the player right now... For example items which would take 1-2days to grind, 3-4 days, 1 week, 2 week (at those intervals) and imagine that you can actually trade in the items you purchase for a discounted amount of tokens you used to buy them with. Also set different reputation requirements. All these things to keep the audience engaged. Maybe make a super rare speeder require max reputation points to purchase, which would take 6 months. Also bare in mind, no one knows WHEN the event will come back. In 2 months is one thing (highly doubt it since Rise of the Cartel is coming soon), but 6 months is pretty outrageous to be able to acquire ANYTHING worth while. I hope that shed some light. If I am mistaken please correct me, but this is my understanding. I have temporarily stepped down from SWTOR as I feel it is all Cartel Market-oriented now and that is not the kind of game I want to be a part of.
  5. I decided to pop back in to check it out. My question is, did we know that it was going to be PvP same faction? If not, then most people here have the right to be upset. But if this was common knowledge beforehand, then in all honesty, those people should have seen it coming/read about it. Not saying that people don't have the right to be upset (the second part) but if I knew this would be the way it is I would prepare myself mentally for it. Regardless of this, I decided this event wasn't for me. So I remain MIA until the expansion.
  6. The issue here is how you think I misinterpreted my point, when honestly you misinterpreted mine. I am grateful to those who have had constructive input, I actually have not thought about taking a break, some reason I didn't see that as an option. My point here was ways to stay in game, taking a break seems to be the winner, as for that article which I quoted, you need to understand that beggars for money aren't accepted in our society with a positive light, that goes for games which are grabbing at your wallet constantly. I feel you are bringing up an issue YOU may have into my discussion because clearly after reading your post several times, I see hints of an unsolved problem but feel it necessary to bring it up elsewhere while masking it through something else. Thank you for your input nonetheless, unfortunately you are wrong.
  7. March 2013, completely didn't notice my typo. Sorry
  8. Hello, So that "new car smell" for SWTOR 2.0 (F2P) has finally worn off. I only have 2 50s, one of which was obtained after F2P and I'm already feeling worn out. Any ideas on what I should do? I read an article in PC Gamer (March 2013 Issue) about the cartel market and it hit me...hit me hard... the cartel market is dragging me down (me personally), I don't know how many of you feel about it, I'd like to hear your opinions. The article stated " Successful free-to-play games look more generous than they are: BioWare has created the opposite situation." That alone made me pause and wonder, how SWTOR didn't have as successful transition into F2P as LOTRO did, and I believe it is because of the cartel market. If some remember me, I usually held the "it is the way it is attitude" when many complained about anything (within reason), now I understand, this game HAS so much potential, which I am afraid might never be fully utilized before of the situation the game is in. That upsets me, but there is nothing I can do about that. What can I do to help me stay in the game? I'm not much of an end-game raider but I've done everything except TFB hard mode, and don't intend on doing that. I am out of ideas.
  9. SWG had a great night/day system, it was very simple. LOTRO has an AMAZING night system in place, if you look at the stars during the night, those stars are the actual placement of the real stars from the studio's location... how awesome is that.... I wish they had night and day... this game has so much potential, which is wasted. I read an article recently that made me wonder if the cartel market isn't destroying the game faster than anything else (not the F2P version, just the market itself). PC Gamer in their march issue did a great story on the cartel market, it is a MUST READ.
  10. Hey, I haven't read all these posts, just the original. My 2 cents, or opinion or advice if you will... Ignore it, why care? No, seriously why care? Today's world women have never been more equal than before, yet inequality still exists out there. Now I mean no disrespect, but I feel this was more a cry for attention, if I am wrong then I don't fully understand your thought process. I have a gay friend who plays, and it is obvious by his voice on TS. There have been several times where he was targeted by verbal violence such as insults and things which can be hurtful. He smiles and just keeps on keepin' on. So again, in this world there are people who are very simple minded, what's worse is those who are naive, but that shouldn't phase you, so one guy starting flirting with you over a game, maybe it was just that simple, don't know how you jumped to the conclusion that the general populous has a problem accepting the fact that "girls play too". This is just my two cents, I didn't mean any disrespect or anything of the sort, just telling you my opinion.
  11. i HAD a problem.. I went to rehab
  12. Do people not understand what packs are? Just because you buy them doesn't mean you are entitled to get ANYTHING good.. You bought 12 packs good for you.. I spent $400 dollars and got nothing... nada... in terms of ultra rare... I don't sit and cry on the forums, I laughed it off, drank a beer and moved on.
  13. Well if he put meat between the keys, it would make sense.
  14. Yep roughly once a month, plus 2 initially. I have it on a file so just copy + paste, but the idea isn't that fact that I sent 13 tickets, it is the idea that some issues have been going on for over a year now, my issue aside, i'm sure many can think of bugs that are long overdue for a patch...
  15. I will say this, although I never had any issues with the CSR services. My main, and this has been so for 10 months now, if not more (since he went past chapter 2), has had a bug, my load screen is stuck on chapter 2. Now it isn't a big deal at all to me, but realizing that I send in a ticket once a month in regards to that issue and it has yet to be fixed makes me wonder if well some one isn't doing their job. I know it is just me, so one person, but it is really a simple fix, just takes a code alternation (such as chapter_load_ss_2 to chapter_load_end_3), see what I mean? I think I sent about 13 tickets, and well I still get the same response, 'we will hand it off to the developers for further investigation".
