  1. I use the class symbol signs horizontally to make tables in my SH bar. With a few carbonite bounties, some neon signs and a couple of bars and lots of people it looks for all the world like a slightly seedy nightclub or cantina. Wampa rugs always make hallways and entrances look intimidating - but in bedrooms and offices look a little more homely. Appearance designer console in front of a sofa looks like its some kind of futuristic t.v. lounge. Trees and plants on shelves ( especially alongside the stars in Nar Shadaa) are a nice touch and if you gather from them regularly, It puts them all together - (in order if you're that way inclined) A canopy and a bar outside with some seats is like a pool-side bar. - Good on Manaan. - And lots of banners in a row make for a grand entrance. I've seen some of the achievement pictures all on top of one another to make a stained-glass window effect. Overall, though a theme is better than randomly placed decos. So a space theme or temple theme or bar theme or office theme or lounge theme for instance.
  2. Exactly. - How many people actually scan the GTN for a barrel, hilt, crystal or armour piece + mods while leveling? - If you have a few alts, likelihood is you'll make the piece on another character for your alt. And since you can outgrow it in a few hours play, no-one is going to sink 10s of 1000s into gear while leveling. - Which is why crafting is more a labour of love ( and nothing wrong with that) rather than a get-rich-quick activity. Sure you can make millions - but only if you play the market every day, keep records and spreadsheets, spend hours gathering mats and such ( again, nothing wrong with that) Sure the professions can craft assembly components but they're all made from common mats. Adding additional layers of complexity doesn't really add much value or purpose. improving the GTN interface would be a better use of resources ( than adding professions) , but OTOH Making more content ( planets quests, missions, events, pvp maps) would be better for everybody.
  3. Put me down for Bantha grooming / care. Basic tangle-teasing: 400,000cr Horn polish: 50K Re-apply lipstick: 25K Exercise ( basic): 500 cr/ hr. Exercise ( on Lunge) 600 cr / hour. House training 500,000/ day. Sorry the prices are a little high, only I got a galaxy to run as my main job, but it's generally unpaid.... so I gotta make a few creds on the side, and tax rates in the Empire are kinda steep. ( 60% + 1d6 Limbs if your tax returns are late.)
  4. As for the map, it is my understanding that the parts are distributed randomly within the area. A map would only be useful if someone cracked the algorithm for determining where a part would be given a certain day, date and time. The quest is supposed to be hard. The reward is ( was) one of the best in the game outside of gear. It is also an exercise in patience. Being methodical and grouping up are some minor shortcuts. You can also use markers like the holo-statues and imp/pub banners to mark the end of the scan range, so your searches don't overlap. GL. keep trying. It'll come eventually.
  5. Orbital strike healing? what does it drop? love bombs? I don't think any non-heal class needs to do more healing.
  6. your 3v4 is someone else's 4v3. Point is, it works both ways, some times against you and sometimes in your favour. Your rating will reflect you skill level if you play scores or hundreds of matches. - The occasional lop-sided match will have minimal impact. But TBH if you're playing only for rating, you may possibly be in the wrong game, since ratings are easily manipulated by people who care about such things, but don't mind cheating - or at least bending the rules. Best thing for getting evenly matched games is to encourage all your friends and online friends to participate and grow the queue so it [the game] can do better matchmaking and back-filling.... Since BioWare have done nothing in the last few years to even encourage people to play, it's up to players to do their promoting for them.
  7. I don't think this 'be in a huge guild or suffer' mentality will ever change. Personally I'm in several small guilds and have 2 alt characters that are in huge conquest guilds simply for the rewards. I'm sick of grinding PvE content, so I'm just gonna PvP and GSF to my hearts content and contribute to the guild as much as I can with those activities. If they pass the personal goals, then I'm happy, but it's only a week and it'll be back to Dantooine and some more variety. Taking it easy with this game every few weeks is not such a bad thing. Everything will still be there when you get back. Other solution is to do content you enjoy and earn credits to buy the rewards at the end of the week. GL. Chill. It's the summer here and I feel guilty to be inside during daylight hors playing games when the sun is shining.
  8. ...because your rating is supposed to reflect your overall success over dozens, scores or even 100s of matches. If the ratings are accurate and there are dozens of teams in the queue, you should be matched with a similar rating team, usually with a similar makeup between tank, heals and DPS. It all falls down of course when there are too few players in the queue. - Then you get matched with whoever is also waiting for a game - irrespective of the makeup or the teams' respective ratings. Only way to mitigate this is to queue in peak times and try to recruit more players. - Since BioWare aren't really trying very hard in this respect. Don't get disheartened over a few bad matches. In the end your rating will be a reasonable representation of your skill level, or your team's skill level. Sometimes the match starts with the enemy team having 3 people, or having a bad matchup - So if you play enough WZ, these things will eventually even out in your favour and against. Keep trying, keep queuing and GL.
  9. Well I have suggested ~( a few times) rewards going to the members of the winning team and only the top four or five of the losing team.... maybe a very minor award to the losing 4 - few 100 credits, some Xp/ CXP or whatever. That at least encourages the losing side to try hard for the win or at least come far enough up the leaderboard to qualify for some meaningful reward. However, the downside is that BioWare haven't the willpower, money or resources to re-evaluate medals and rewards and awards.... so basically PvPers are stuck with whatever the system is at the moment. A desertion penalty is probably a good solution if there are scores of people in the queues at all times.... However the populations are so low playing PvP that a few quitters could kill the queue for anyone that remained- especially off peak - when you might have to wait 20-30 minutes for a match already.... and even then only get a 4v4. - As an aside, the number of matches played for daily/weekly with wins counting 2 ( or more ) is about as far as we can expect BioWare to go on this issue. IMHO 5 for a win and 1 for a loss was a bit draconian. - But since I'm not much of a fan of 4v4 arena, it's not that big a deal for me.
  10. Unfortunately, some teams go ahead then troll ( or farm) the other team until they quit or the timer ends. Once you are ahead, you're guaranteed the win as long as you aren't completely stupid - whether you deserve it or not. 3 scores ahead in Hutball - and 1 min left on the clock? might as well pad numbers. same as if you're better than 2:1 ratio in ACW, Yavin or have reached the datacore in VS almost as fast as physically possible. No point in trying to teach the idiots how to PVP properly - some people are simply here for the rewards, regardless of win or lose. - and that isn't going to change any time soon. BW have little regard and no resources to improve PvP - so we all are gonna have to quit, suck it up or decide to never take it seriously again. c'est la vie
  11. ...with added Progenitor goodness. You'd be welcome on DM. we are a generally friendly bunch and happy to help rookie pilots and veterans alike. - and almost zero toxicity. GL
  12. Quote: "SWTOR Bounty Contact Week, a monthly recurring event that will start off on Aug 13, 2013 with Patch 2.3. This event will run one week of every month. " ...this event has been running almost 6 years, once a month... so approx. ((6x12) -1) events if it's once per month..... so over 70 chances to get this boss multiplied by every character that is in your legacy and eligible...... It's either bad RNG or you joined later than 2013 or you have terrible luck.... or you are simply impatient..... Cool your jets. The boss will spawn eventually, unless the game closes.....in which case it's kinda academic anyways.... Chill..... coz it's not a sprint, but a marathon......
  13. So... all those classes mentioned can get a sneak peek, and try stuff out and practice and such while other ( tech) classes are gonna have to wait..... It may not be a big thing for PVE but PVP-ers might think different depending on which side of the have/have-nots fence you are. Some classes haven't seen their new shineys yet - even in text form.
  14. you could also ask for help - someone might be able to duel you - so you respawn after being killed or being able to leap / jump/ be pushed off your super-sticky spot. If nothing else works, send in a ticket. - But be advised that it might be a day or 3 before it is actioned - be as specific as you can and tell them as many details as you can. You could also politely request a transfer to another place - such as capital planet or stronghold. Question is though, how did you get there, OP ?
  15. Didn't Jango Fett get the better of Obi-Wan Kenobi for most of their fight? Couldn't Aurra Sing have shot Annakin during the Podrace? Several times over, the Droid army almost crushed the Clones and their Jedi commanders. Not every Jedi or sith is as powerful as the heroes in the movies and anime. - Some are still padawan's/ apprentices and their rapid rises to power are usually because of their deeds, not their martial prowess ( In their SWTOR stories that is. ) Besides, it's an MMO - You have to suspend some disbelief, otherwise there isn't much point playing.
  16. The other alternative is to find a few unguided characters and start one's own. There is a Guild registrar on both Imperial and Republic fleets. You need to be one of a group of four to register. Some people will help for free, some might want some credits or favours in return. - Again, ask on fleet. - And check out your server's forums, you might find someone advertising the kind of guild you might want to join, or conversely give you a few ideas for the one you might want to start. GL

    Huttball

Regs is pretty much a crapshoot - since the number of people in the queue aren't sufficient to make any decent go of matchmaking...... ( see previous point) The thing with regs is that no-one cares, and TBH I'm more about having an enjoyable match these days than trying for a huge winning streak. - Since I'm only 1 person in 15 my contribution isn't gonna sway much if the other fifteen are better or worse, DM in mid, run for the objectives or over-extend..... or anything else. Turn off brain and enjoy. no point getting hung up on the result as long as you feel you did your part.

    Huttball

I can't help thinking that if BioWare had nurtured, supported and rewarded PVP-ers from the beginning, the game would be in far better shape, with so many PVPers, you could have queued only for the maps you liked. But chronic underinvestment takes its toll. If you dislike Huttball, ( and personally I'm okay with it) sadly the only winning move is not to play.
  19. You could also look at each week's conquest charts, which would give all the top-ten scorers for each planet on offer. ofc a lot of small or specialist guilds won't appear, but it'll give you the flavours of some of the names, But if it's your own guild, then just go with anything you like, TBH.
  20. Approach them from the side or behind... Most of the time they are zommed in on their targets, and unaware of flanking attacks. Also, backing off so they burn their engine power leaves them unable to run away quickly. Remember that they have ~15K range. keeping just above thet and burning your defensive CDs as you approach is a fair strategy. Don't engage them head on tho' that way lies certain obliteration. TBH there are only a couple of maps where GS dominate, but you can still sit back and pick off the scouts and strikes if they push forward too far - still out of GS range. - Nothing frustrates a GS pilot more than a ship a click out of range - if the only way to snipe at them means coming out of cover. - And practice, practice, practice.....
  21. Maybe he likes it that way, or he got fixed up in a back-street Nar Shadaa chop-shop. Maybe he only had enough credits to buy half a pair of trousers. I'm not over-keen on him, but have liked to parade him around since I won him the other day, and many people haven't yet. - Keep feeding the machines, folks. He's in there somewhere....!
  22. sometimes there are only 8 people in the queue. - Or 8 people left over. If one declines or arrives and quits before the matchup is assembled, you're left with 3v4. I'd like think it'd even out over 100s of matches, whether your team is left short or the enemy team is. Besides if any player isn't worried about their rating, they can accept and decline mathes with impunity - if they think it's just gonna be 2 rounds to acid, they might refuse the pop, and wait it out until the odds are better in their favour. solo ranked is such a crapshoot, it shouldn't really matter, but BoiWare can't get matchmaking right, let alone ensure there are enough people in the queue to cover any absences.
  23. I vaguely remember this was brought up a long time ago - There was a technical reason that it was capped at 25. However, If you take a planet's missions - such as Ossus or Iokath, add in PVP daily and weekly and GSF daily and weekly, maybe groupfinder/ fp weekly/ or event missions it'll easily max out without taking them all. Only workaround is to take a few at a time. - Don't delete any you've made significant progress on and keep revisiting the mission board / mission giver / mission terminal when you have done a few and handed them in. It'd be great to revisit this and try to up the cap - But this has been the way of it since the start, so I wouldn't hold out much hope for a cap increase.
  24. there used to be a lot of threads about "Unkillable" enemies. - Most of the time the players weren't aware that some of the channelled abilities needed interrupting, need to LoS or needed kiting or DCDs or other simple mechanics to overcome. - The Corrupted Bothrium Beast on Oricon springs instantly to mind. - Some of the Exarchs in the Star Fortresses too. TBH a lot of these are L2P or RTFM ( guides) issues. I'd be all for some more intelligent mobs, but TBH most of the bigger challenges can be found in slightly harder content - and there's plenty of that for people who enjoy a workout. BioWare can't crank out content fast enough as it is without having to re-jig a load of trash mobs. but there are plenty of ways to make adventuring more difficult - Putting companion on passive or tackling harder content than your level / skills or doing some PVP will soon teach you a few tricks. GL anyways.
  25. Yeah. You can't macro keys, but that doesn't stop some people finding innovative ways of manually pressing a key every now and again to jiggle their character and stop the AFK triggering. If Homer Simpson could reset the nuclear power plant alarm with a Drinking Bird toy There re probably updated versions in the 21st century.
