  1. Some people enjoy grinding as a process, whether it's gear or reputation, are you one of them? If yes, gz, swtor is just the right game for you cause it's pretty much entirely about grinding this or that at level 60. Nobody said that there should never be anything to grind for but grinding can be implemented differently: the swtor way (get owned and whispered abuses and swearing while you're on your way to your pvp set but hey, eyes on the prize: once you're geared you can have all the fun playing the same old content that only a few remember when it was last updated) or the normal way: start playing and having fun without being constantly reminded that you've just begun, your level will keep rising, you'll start unlocking stuff and upgrades will become available, things will start being even more enjoyable but the process is fun from the start, it doesn't include a period of getting smashed just because the game is all about grinding and won't let enjoy pvp-ing the moment you hit 60 and join a wz.
  2. Gotta agree here, just when I thought how sick and tired I am of same old fps, ops and pvp maps (won't even mention daily areas)...bam outfit designnnner! And suddenly the game is so much better!
  3. Especially when looking back on the 1st boss in the False Emperor, Jindo Krey...when you can see live in-game what a mercenary should and can be about because as such, all the animations and mechanics are already there, including a *********** really working bubble not that ******** that mercs have...
  4. They did underestimate once what mass exodus of pvp-ers can do and if these trends continue... Then in November 2015 I hope another 1.2 effect will hit hard and either refresh and readjust things so that everyone gets something to do (not a couple of new ops every 1,5 year and 1 new pvp map every 2 years) or the effect better be devastating enough so that at least they stop feeding off the game while re-investing in it almost nothing
  5. The main problem is, it's nothing new, unfortunately. Whether it comes from not really having enough brainpower to balance classes at least to the point where it's not so painfully obvious which class is op and which sucks or if it's an actual strategy to constantly rotate fotm's and thus "motivate" people to constantly change their current pvp toons or even re-roll new ones, which if true is, as a matter of fact, an even more braindead, cheap, lame and pathetic excuse of dev activity. At any rate, I had some kinda pvp fun on my sorc and on my pt, then a patch happened...and you can guess the rest At the point I finally quit pvp-ing in swtor (now waiting for battlefront )
  6. Gonna be offtopic but at the end of the day, if only this grinding was worth it... I mean, same old maps, repetitive situations where you often end up with or against the same people and can already tell if'd lose or win, because just not enough people queue, ranked especially...the only type of actual updates pvp-ers get regularly is when they find out which class/spec is currently fotm and which is not anymore (but might be again in the next "cycle of pvp content").
  7. I've been wondering how many more people (myself including) feel the same way, i.e. stopped pvping in swtor where there has never ever been any kind of balance and fotms are the core of their pvp "philosophy"...and just waiting for battlefront. On TRE I've only seen once someone on the ranked tier 1 pirate mount. Kinda speaks for itself I'd love some miracle to happen within the next 6 months, something awesome that'd refresh things basically, not cheap attractions-distractions like 12x for months and months or same old reputation farm fests aka events...none is cool, exciting or anything. But if not, yeah, I wish this game gets shut down to hell as a failed mmo experiment. And clear the path for a new mmo something by BW (hopefully not specifically by BW Austin) where previous mistakes wouldn't be repeated
  8. True....also, that was a nightmare with the only real goal to rid people of as much credits as possible and force them to buy stronghold unlocks with cartel coins. Whether that goal was reached or not, it was another mean milking move from BW. So no thanks
  9. Hi, this 3rd set bonus: "Lightning Strike and Lightning Bolt or Disturbance and Telekinetic Burst reduce the cooldown of Recklessness or Force Potency by 1 second", how exactly does it work? Does it reduce the cooldown each time I use Lightning Bolt or Disturbance (for example I use it twice in a row and the default cooldown from 1.30 goes down to 1.28) or does it simply reduce it by 1 sec? (i.e. by default cd is 1.30 and with zero alacrity it becomes 1.29 and that's it?). Thanks & sorry for the noobish one
  10. LOL idd So much for communications from the newest member of the so-called Community Team :D
  11. There's no pure "medic / healer" class as such in battlefield 3-4 so it's one dps class with extra medical abilities, which makes sense...apart from that, obvious hackers were obvious but class balance (weapons balance) is rarely an issue in first-person shooter type games, at least personally I never "suffered" from that in a BF game and never felt inferior towards other class(es), so I do hope we'll finally get to enjoy pvp and just forget about this unbalanced BS of a joke which is swtor pvp. The "fotm vs crap" approach to pvp that dev's have been practicing since the beginning, well, we can't stop them from continuing doing it but from November on they can shove it up **** *****
  12. In November 2015, when battlefront is released. That's when you'll get your pvp in star wars environment and hopefully without class balance issues. And isn't it better than cross-server queue or megaserver?
  13. Still they f**** up pvp-ers in 1.2 and shortly after that the game had to mass-merge servers and go f2p. What still remains of pvp community and finds strength to log in and play same old tiny maps in an always unbalanced environment, is very likely to check out battlefront. Above all it's freaking new stuff. Even with just 4 planets at the start and no 64 player battles. Can't think of a reason that would make a pvp-er really feel like going back (after battlefront release) to same old micro maps and arenas again.
  14. Might as well try thinking some before writing something like that
  15. Because that was then and things have changed now. No more tens of servers and hundreds online on fleets alone. No more endless enthusiasm coming from many, many players for the game basically and instances in particular, like trying over and over Lost Island hm pre-nerf. The most recent online gaming trend seems to be about people going cba much faster and caring a lot less. "I can't breeze through a story mode ops? I can't beat story modes bosses in less than 2-3 tries max? Well f*** it I'll go do something else or better yet, play something else" - that's the dominating attitude. BW's attempts to prolong new content life span may have been appreciated by the few dozens of hm challenge lovers but generally it has had the exact opposite effect: people can't beat (relatively) easily content that is expected to be puggable (specifically tos story, blood hunt hm), so they won't keep trying over and over like they used to in lost island or EV or KP back in the day. They'd rather just leave and who's winning in this situation? Looks like no one.
  16. I was referring to those a** holes elitists here who continue insisting that difficulty level of certain instances (tos story, blood hunt hm) should remain as it is. For the above-mentioned mega-selfish reasons (the VIP post) they don't want casuals to be able to clear if not as easily but at least clear it for sure, get some comms, some resurrected tokens, complete the weekly and be happy over getting results for time spent...not get to the underlurcker, have a few rounds of wipes and disband. That's what's happening and people would rather stop raiding at all than take chances in tos over and over just to wipe at the 3rd boss and call it, over and over. Why can't everyone enjoy the new content, each to their own extent?
  17. True but most are already sick to death of old ops and most importantly, unlike before 3.0, ultimate gear is now absolute garbage. It'll be easier to get ultimates in 3.2 but they're basically still not worth it. Armorings without set bonus, okay that can be justified, but ****** both mods and enhancements...
  18. You're right only the problem is, these members of the VIP raiding club are not numerous enough for the game to continue being worth maintaining. If being able to clear hm and nim is not enough for their ultra-massive ego's then too bad because developing content for a few chosen VIP ones (as it turned out to be with 3.0) will only bring the game one step closer to getting shut down for being unprofitable.
  19. I think that's what they want us to do although I don't see how they're benefit from that. We already had people mass quitting the game after 1.2....so what that it's precious swtor, part of the divine Star Wars universe? If it's not enjoyable people will leave. And currently with all those so-called story modes it is barely puggable, it is barely doable with an average group and therefore it's too far from being enjoyable (i.e. when you can invest some time and get some results, not spend hours and get nothing but a repair bill).
  20. Exactly. That's why the f****g underlucker on story needs to be nerfed. A few more weeks of this fun breaker and full realization that normally you can't just go and do the ToS weekly and people won't bother. Well, many don't bother already, it's clear from the yet another population dropping. Get it in your head that casual players are the same players who keep this game afloat and are the same players who are fine with 2nd best gear but who aren't fine (generally) with wiping over and over and over and over at the same boss. You, challenge lovers and fans of learning game mechanics can wipe all you want on hm's and future nim's...but regular players will just say "f**k it" and quit. In the end, everyone will suffer.
  21. Genius simple solution that totally missed the point, which is about having a ship type stronghold as such, regardless of being in a guild or not. Plus, while making a one man guild and buying the guild ship is doable, further expanding of the ship is way too problematic for a single player. Existing conditions of obtaining all those frameworks to unlock ship sections shouldn't be applied to a potential legacy / player own ship.
  22. Amen to that. This retarded joke of an unbalanced mess of ever changing fotm's aka pvp in swtor by definition cannot be taken seriously. And so-called pvp guilds (especially on a pve server) who think that they are something because they queue for regs as premades in full ranked gear and wow, they win, or spit curses and abuses at people who queue in pve gear for regs... I would wonder why such people as pvp trolls exist. Now it's clearer to me lol Vicious, mean, toxic **** from such guilds, the way they act in regs (not ranked) towards other ppl, casual players, seems to be both the reason why trolls are there and moreover, what they deserve. I do not support pvp trolling at all, ranked trolling specifically, but I also have zero sympathy for someone's rating going down because of them. Pvp community is surprisingly unfriendly, angry and vicious for a game where there's no real pvp.
  23. Thanks for the guide, found it very helpful! One thing, though, is a bit confusing: tank stats priorities are the same for all type of tank companions? What I mean is, aim based tank companions which kind look to powertech / vanguard classes and strength based companions like Scourge or Broonmark which are the juggernaut / guardian type; for players powertech and jugg's tanking obviously mean different proportions of absorb / shield / defense. For tank companions, however, is it all the same or, let's say, Scourge needs more defense while Corso needs more shield?
  24. I believe in vengeance and my holocron will make sure Iresso is avenged And don't forget Zenith, who represents vengeance basially and who's background influence will corrupt your holorcon to a certain extent, no matter how light sided you are
