  1. Every other battlefield game does have a single player campaign, so what? It's not like many people care about it because that's very much not the point of buying a Dice game. It's about pvp and if you want stories, go level another alt in swtor or replay kotor 1 & 2
  2. Given that it's basically Battlefield: Star Wars all you should probably worry about is possible game launch technical issues at the start, like they had them with Battlefield 4 (although they didn't with Battlefield Hardline). Dice know how to make a pvp game and how to balance classes, what one has to deal with whenever they pvp in swtor (some classes/specs op, others crap) has never been an issue in their games so it's definitely some star wars pvp to be looked forward to
  3. What I meant was, that it's definitely "in the air". Everything excluding official announcements leads different people to think the same about how long swtor will remain on live servers or at least will be "actively" supported. As strongly as you refuse to accept this prediction about swtor longevity, do I really need to specify that, imo, by "years" OP clearly meant more than a couple of years, which is overly optimistic of him.
  4. Absolutely agree with the OP except for one thing: "Years" is way too optimistic for a game that is critically flawed pve-wise (based more or less entirely around the idea that a pve-er's ultimate goal is to min-max their gear and raid which should have been one one the foundations of the level cap activities but not its sole one) and pvp...no need to mention all the well-known issues there. A while a go I had a guild chat and talking of how much active online time this game had I said "about 2 years". Then to my surprise I heard the very same idea in the last torocast podcast, which led me to think I was somewhat "right" about it. The game is dying, it's getting harder and harder for devs to keep it afloat by adding once in a blue moon 30 mins stories (1 for all classes and sides) plus new daily areas (as if doing dailies was ever any fun), decoration hooks, same old boring rep grinding events (without a single new item added to rep vendors) and at the same time, the milking activity of BW Austin hasn't dropped for a minute. Maximum milking + extremely lazy maintaining / bug fixing / new content adding mode. 2-3 years maximum at this rate, but definitely not "years".
  5. Thought I'd do something in the game while still on my last subscribed days (made a mistake when bought several months of subscription last time), so I logged in, everything is very much the same, the event rewards are the same...even my guild hm progression has been stuck on 4/5 and 3/5 for all this time I thought it was just me but it seems more guildies have felt the same way about the game lately. I even saw a guild named "waiting for the battlefront" or something which is pretty much my case as well
  6. I had stopped playing around 3.0 for all those reasons back then and logged in for the first time in weeks a couple of days ago to check on my guild and see if I could get something new for my event certificates from the last year...that's not playing their game, it's just occasional "blast from the past"
  7. Agree and I certainly do not participate in these so-called events. However it is somewhat fun to personally see sometimes how braid dead one can go in their ultimate kneeling before this misbirth of a developer aka BW Austin (not saying this about the whole BW, their Canadian head office is doing well)
  8. Pathetic brainwashed lame attempt coming from a zombie-fan, saying we should be grateful they brought back that mean credits sink crap event at all, without a single new item and proudly reminding us that other events got no new rewards either? You're embarrassing yourself by kneeling down and sucking up to BW this hard.
  9. Okay, apart from the AOE part and the 2018 requirement, everything else is screaming about dropping pvp player base.
  10. Nice changes as such but they're a sign of the increasing desperation
  11. They are misleading us because until the return of x12 overall population kept dropping; amounts of active raiders and ranked pvp-ers have never stopped decreasing no matter what leveling events, everyone can see that. Rating requirements, however, are increased every season, which is lame and BS. Personally I don't care anymore at this point (leaving for Battlefront once it's released) but it still sucks that ever-dwindling ranked community is treated worse and worse
  12. By that moment I'd say the entire swtor population would probably fit on one single server lol
  13. They also hinted at something "better than cross-servers"...
  14. It's already old but I'll say it again : Battlefront in November is that "better than crossover pvp" that you're asking for
  15. Yeah, it seems to be in the air, active players have been leaving quite a lot, less pop-ups, less lfm's-lfg's etc... the game is still worth checking out 2-3 times a year whenever they release new stories/dialogues/cutscenes but that's pretty much it. Only so much fun within a game on life support
  16. That is the bottomline. Stop giving them money they do not deserve.
  17. Large amounts of pvpers, server got flooded....yeaaaaah it's all so very, very, very true Also, the rumor has it that since pvp is so ridiculously uncontrollably active on Ebon Hawk, devs are seriously considering bringing back old ranked 8 vs 8 to TEH.
  18. Do high-end raiders have any leverage? Hardly, but they got 2 operations. Not much to be squeezed out of ops profit-wise. But if they developed 2 new locations already with 2 instanced ops zones they could as well make at least 1 new pvp map. Oh perhaps, as I said some time ago in a similar thread, just wait for battlefront and that's where you'll get your new star wars pvp maps Really, if you know that in 6 months a brandnew and purely pvp game in the same setting is released, why would you bother? Given how little they could be bother with pvp issues lately
  19. And people still refuse to believe that swtor is purely on milking till it's dry / maintaining mode and ferociously downvote on reddit any posts saying that and predicting that swtor has 2 years left maximum However I optimistically hope that it has to do with intensive development of swtor 2...
  20. They might cut another piece out of any of the existing locations and introduce it as a new map but only in arena format. It's simpler, cheaper and as far as they might be possibly willing to go. I think ziost was mentioned so expect a new arena map in the future that will give you a ziost daily area deja vu effect.
  21. Okay then how can you explain that 3.0, as crappy, lazy, buggy, laggy and overall raw and lame it was, introduced 2 new ops? They gave something to raiders who's numbers are nothing compared to casual pve-ers and pvp-ers. Financially it makes even less sense.
  22. Yeah, this fotm rotation strategy has been more or less obvious, pve-ers get some content sometimes, pvp-ers...oh well...So this gives us this double fail: BW can't give new playable content often enough and I believe most people, pvp-ers especially, have grown tired of these fotm games as well. How much longer can you test people's loyalty by teasing them with yet another fotm, allowing them to enjoy it for a while and then destroying the fun with yet another nerf? Besides, this cheap trick didn't work at all for many people who refused to reroll because there was nothing else to do and left during the Spring 2012. And it's gotten even worse ever since: BW constantly extends time gap between game updates and continues with this lame fotm crap. I guess it began to seriously fail like a few months ago when they decided to bombard people with same events over and over plus the 12x. Idk maybe they're just hanging on till the battlefront release? Anyways, even if mercs indeed start to be real good at pvp it won't change BW's original, deeply flawed practice: a few months of being cool for pvp and then nerf and mercs are back in their sad pvp situation. This is basically too lame and pathetic and no longer deserves a subscriber / cartel crap shopper's support
  23. BW Austin pvp team developing abilities are (apparently) limited to maintaining a constant circle of fotm's. It's a vicious circle they keep in motion because they're either too dumb to actually balance classes or it's on purpose because it's the only type of "new pvp content" that is still added regularly. Imagine they effin stop creating and destroying fotm's. Add to this the fact that the last more or less developed map was added like what, 2 years ago? (the queshball)...I don't count cut out bits of old locations and presented as arenas as actual new maps...well that'd make the pvp situation even staler content-wise. Ofc everchanging fotm's aren't new content, it's lame bs but without even that it'd be just deadwater.
  24. I was 100% ironic, were you too?
