  1. I made this post before i realized "spinning kick" was a decent ability. Some body revived this blog. There is a new OP and it's not me. lol.
  2. First of all even if the people you are playing have FULL WH they will still lose if you have a partial "fixed" premade. You are controlling 50% of the game in your favor. If you have vent the gear doesn't matter as much. So, no in my opinion, they shouldn't segregate, but a recruit bolster, and a BM bolster (lighter) would make the games tighter. So who doesn't like a close game? Secondly there is a similar post to this on SWTOR.com. The OP suggests "structured" WZ's. Even though I am against this entirely for ALL, I might agree if it's just for "casuals", as you say. Letting us still have reg WZ's. Structured (separating "casuals from hardcore") would help but it still wouldn't fix the problem. If you are playing with one group, and others are in your group and aren't playing with you. It's like playing tug of war while trying to take on another team even if it's structured (this would happen even there). Even with serious players you will still have problems. BW needs to stop micromanaging, and fix the guild/pug problem once and for all, when it comes to faction vs faction and faction vs opposite faction. Make us have to be in a guild, or make it vs only pug/ vs only guild, add more bolsters, let us know if we are playing against a full guild or even half on our side and opposite, give us in game voice chat. I don't care what it is do something!! Also it's hard to define "casuals" from "hardcore". You might have an awesome guild but a guild of the same caliber with vent will be better than you. You might be amazing at pug, but not at ranked. I know some casuals that are amazing, I know some hardcore players that suck. **Here is the link to the other post that is similar to this and suggests for "structured" WZ http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=532554
  3. Props to you guys for reigniting such an old post. But as far as animations, BW is getting rid of them. I like cool animations too, they add depth and excitement to the game. But BW just removed the animation from Force Wave and I wouldn't be surprise if they made tumult and other abilities instant too. With no animation. It's called lame. The game is ANIMATED. lol. that's the whole point. It's supposed to be real especially when it brings intensity. *Btw if you don't know we have another kick ability that is exactly the same as tumult but does less damage, it's called "spinning kick". It can be used in pvp too unlike tumult. BW would never give other classes tumult. Maybe they would give sorc/sages "spinning kick" though.
  4. You should consider that maybe you were in a "fixed game" premade (faction vs same-faction or even faction vs opposite-faciton). There are many hot posts on this now. This has happened to me many times. I wondered..."why do those people not talk or try to communicate", "why was that cap so easy?", "why are all those people hoarding in one area and not going for the cap?" After playing WZ's for a long time and being in premades who cheated (not of my own choice). I have finally realized that's what happens often. I was thrown in with a large queued group in pug. Maybe even you have done this, and you forgot that it can happen to you to. Either way. You could have been playing in a "fixed" game. Read this post; Look at the response by me NoaFlux http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=533567 and good luck!
  5. Well it's no secret that winning is addicting. That's why people take it as far as to cheat. But I know how you feel, there is a special "bolster effect" that happens around where you are that in some ways makes you stronger than those in the 40's. It happens to everyone. When it happened to me I think I got first place in 6 WZ's straight a couple times. Anyway it does show us all how fun it is to win. And this is what got me hooked too. But we warned, it does get harder again. That doesn't mean it's not fun. It just makes things more interesting. Make sure you get expertise based war zone gear as soon as you can. That will help you from dropping after you get higher in level (bolster effect will not be as good). Also make sure you communicate. Don't be afraid to try to get into vent with some people. That will increase your chances of winning too. Create your own channel and invite people you see in the matches often. Queue with them. Communication is everything. Good for you!! Hope to see you on the field! All i do is pvp! lol
  6. Ok a couple things. 1. I disagree with equally geared/equal abilities in a WZ for everyone. This is how GW2 is in structured and I hate it. It's so cheap it's not even funny. I am given great gear (boosts) and all my abilities from the start. It's so lame. There is nothing to it. It's like playing a young kids game. Even if I tried, do you know how boring it would get? It's not really about fairness, it's just not interesting. I have nothing to look forward to. The maps/game would have to be more unique, and like you said we would need special awards or something. Maybe they could make "Structured WZ's" for "casual" WZ players. But the rewards for both kinds of WZ would have to be very calculated. a. In addition Star Wars does try to bring balance, and fairness. You can be equally geared, and many guilds are extremely close. So what your want DOES happen. You just have to work your way up a little first. b. Also I would agree with maybe adding a lv50 Bolster for recruit gear, than a lighter one for BM just to make it even tighter, I mean who doesn't like a close match? c. It's not just about gear. Especially in a game like Huttball which is pure communication. I have watched many guilds with low gear get max dauntless cause they passed the ball at the right time, they were probably communicating well in chat or most likely in vent. With chat it's entirely likely too. Again so you can still win with crappy gear. Use your voice, make sure others are using theirs. Use your strongest players to gain possession of the ball, and your bad players to pass/pull real quick. Find out who is the strongest and have them play center. 2. Some other posters were saying that WZ's are dying. I think some of us misunderstand. Their might be a lot of people, but none of them are happy, and none of them are winning. In other words they are about to die....this cycle happens every time the population goes up because the pug vs. guild prob was never fair from the beg. It makes people angry until they leave. What happens is when the pop goes up everyone tries WZ's more...than they realize it's painful and unsubscribe cause they have done all the pve. It's the "final nail".

Do you understand that they are on your side? You are on the same team as them, and even if you aren't they could be controlling the game through the opposite faction with vent. You are trying to play hard while they are doing the opposite. They tell each other not to go through a door, or to score at a certain time. Then they stretch the game out so they can get more points. And yeah "cheating premades" are just one part of the problem, but when you get queued with them over and over again It starts to get annoying. What am I supposed to do wait until next week when they take a break? Also they are teaching others to do it further increasing my chances of being with a "cheating premade" If it's ranked I lose elo if I leave, and get points against me if I lose, and like I mentioned above I also just waste my energy. Here I am trying to turn the game around, trying to yell for pass etc. and no one listens. I'm warn out, and sick of the game after a couple of these. I lost elo because they didn't tell me until AFTER I joined that the ranked match was a set up if I leave. Now I have to put in a ticket to get my elo back. Cheating (and in turn winning) is just as addicting for some as alcohol or cigarettes. If Bio Ware doesn't slow it down it will consume everyone, or maybe it already has.

Boy do I have news for you! So last week I accidently got invited in to a "ranked" WZ. As soon as I got there they told me that we had to let the other side lose, and that we owe them a win for next match. I was confused about what was going on and didn't want to assume anything. So they told me they were just trying to win coms because it's unfair when they get smashed in pug. They were telling each other to not try to cap certain doors, and to let people cap at specific times. I left and said I didn't agree with that. I than got queued with them two more times next week. I left one match stayed in the other. In the one I stayed in we obviously lost, no matter how hard I tried we lost. Why? Cause it was fixed. I asked the players again (because you can never be sure) if this was a set up match...and they wanted me to define what "fake" or "cheating" ment etc. that's what it came down to. Later in chat some of them admitted it and said they thought nothing was wrong with it (yeah except they are being selfish). I reported them and you should too. THE NASTY CHAIN OF EVENTS THAT RUIN A GREAT GAME; 1. The guild on the opposite faction gets queud against pug> it's an instant death match, despite what some posters say on here, us 24/7 pug pvp'rs know they are just talking about rare cases when winning. It's complete luck for us, and a completely calculated by them to win. This is wrong, unfair, wastes my time, my real life money, and causes... 2. ....teams on the same faction to further cheat by queuing up against each other for coms because they get slaughtered by opposite faction 4-8 man guilds (first paragraph). Which again leaves pugs who aren't on either side to play in a "fixed" match while the pugs who aren't in "the loop" are using all their energy to win!! The rest of their team could be losing on purpose. Also we know this can be done through vent on OPPOSITE FACTIONS if the population is low. But even with it consolidated now, it seems like I get matched with the same people anyway. I know this happens a lot because I've been with guilds who talk to the opposite side, and some how know who they are playing before the match even starts!! 3. What you have here is no different than basic moral principles being broken. Example: Some body cheats their friends out of money and starts a convenience store, people around town know about this and in turn steal from the store every once and awhile (that's their justification at least). The store goes out of business and the chance that any more buisness will come back is low because they know of the stealing issues. So that block in town get's a bad reputation and no one wants to go there anymore. That's what is happening in Star Wars in PvP. That is undeniably part of the reason subscriptions are low. People are cheating left and right, and the examples given aren't even half the ways you could cheat. Currently Bio Ware is micromanaging fairness by altering our abilities, but not once have they tried to make things fair in a REAL, LARGE, non micromanaging kind of way. WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN AT MIN. IS THAT WE NEED TO BE MADE AWARE OF WHO IS IN A GROUP QUEUING WITH US. IF THEIR ARE 2-7 QUEUED TOGETHER, AND YOU GET STUCK WITH THEM AS PUG THEIR NAMES NEED TO BE HIGHLIGHTED A SPECIAL COLOR, THAN IF PEOPLE FROM THEIR GUILD ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE (SAME FACTION) A STAR SYMBOL OR SOMETHING ALSO NEEDS TO BE PLACED NEXT TO THEIR NAME.[/color] THIS WILL AT LEAST LET US KNOW AHEAD OF TIME THAT SOMETHING IS UP SO WE CAN LEAVE THE MATCH. NOW IF BIO WARE REALLY WANTS TO KEEP THIS GAME TOGETHER, WE NEED TO BE NOTIFIED AHEAD OF TIME IF WE ARE PLAYING AGAINST ONE OR MORE GUILD PLAYERS ON THE OPPOSITE FACTION!!! IF THEY HAVE 8 ALL GROUPED UP AND WE HAVE NONE AT LEAST I WOULD KNOW THAT I SHOULD PUSH THE TEAM HARDER AND HAVE A GOOD REASON TO DO SO, PEOPLE ARE MORE LIKELY TO LISTEN IF THEY KNOW THEY ARE GOING UP AGAINST A TOUGHER TEAM. OR AT LEAST I CAN LEAVE AND NOT WASTE MY TIME, OR ASK OTHER LOW GEARED PLAYERS TO POLITELY LEAVE THIS SPECIFIC MATCH. DO SOMETHING OR GO OUT OF BUSINESS. *and please don't tell me that you can figure this out by if they are in a guild or not, because you obviously know nothing about WZ's. Guild's often work together, or not everyone is on at once they find sister guilds to queue with or random people who they know are good. Blah..
  9. So I understand where it is applied, and why it's neccesary etc. I just don't get where it comes from... For example I put on a new lightsaber and it says...100+ Max 100+Min. O.K. cool. But why? I'm trying to compare this to other things. For example in a MOD. An enhancement has...maybe surge, endurance, critical. But where does something like Min Max come from? Why isn't it on ALL gear? I looked on google with no luck. Please inform thanks.
  10. Thanks for this! I had no idea it had nothing to do with video games ( i mean it does now). How would I have known to search outside of Bio Wares database? How would anyone know this who hasn't been playing mmos or chess? Bio Ware just doesn't seem to cater to new players. That's why they are struggling. I am confused about 85% of the time, and I slowly crawl up the knowledge ladder only to find new things I don't understand. lol. So what i'm trying to say is THANK YOU!
  11. I apologize if I made you mad I was just trying to help. Also wanted to say sorry to the OP. I just realized this is for PVP. Forget I posted.
  12. Im wondering this as well. I'm pretty sure you want aim, then power/defense mods. But wanted to double check because I know Qyzen is "wonky". lol
  13. I know this might be a stupid question. But what should I do for Qyzen then? I am trying to give him Aim then Power/Defense augs. But my current ear piece has 33 power, and a good amount of strength 80. Plus endurance and accuracy. Isn't that decent? Compared to just aim, endurance, and like 12% crit and surge I might get from a similar PvE piece?
  14. It's because of two main reasons. 1. F2P. This is scary and good at the same time. 2. The new 1.4 updates. Though it will be awesome! There are A LOT of changes to peoples individual characters. So if someone has been playing the same way for a year than obviously they will be upset. Expect that again soon!! and a new WZ and FP! I admit I have been pessimistic, so forgive me (us?), if we are still here we really like it too! It's just rough when your "toon" get's altered dramatically.
  15. Awesome. Thanks for the numbers!! That's what it's all about!
  16. I see. So technically I have a one up on you w my shield ability? I also have more absorb (45%). My shield is about 10% lower than yours. Anyway I guess we are pretty equal. *And by the way I was going to get that Relic. Have you double checked it in the combat logs? I currently have a flat shield rating relic.
  17. I've been trying to come up with a response to this...and I'm just "blindfolded" with what to say.
  18. Hey thanks! Target center? Haven't tried it but I will! I just started using the arrow, i used to used the circle at the bottom. My guess is maybe the arrow was there but not the circle...

    Save Force Wave!!

lol. nuff said. and yes i'm trying it now.

    Save Force Wave!!

An answer is an answer buddy. If two people want to ask the same girl out on a date, they can say it two different ways but it's still the same girl they ask. If three diff people ask a separate girl out each their own way they still want that same individual girl they asked. The girl who has three "askers" is the more popular girl. Just like pre 1.4 Force Wave. But hey if we had it our way for this long, you should be able to have it your way for the same amount of time. Then we can all go from there.
  21. I agree with your "guilds vs pug" idea. I think there are some great solutions to this. But slowing down guilds is not one of them. I have suggested a buff for pug, in game vocal chat for pug, and just awareness that you are playing a guild. For example you should be told in beg of the game to get it together! Lol "you are playing 4 guild members! or 8 guild members" so at least you are ready. But also the grind in PvP is nothing compared to PvE. I get so exhausted getting lost, waiting for people to get in a FP etc. while doing PvE that I would never ever play if it wasn't for PvP, All I'm trying to say is take the word "grind" out of there. Getting into a match instantly is far from a grind in comparison.
  22. Hey all. I just have a question about targeting. At least 5 times in the past couple of days my target has disappeared when facing an enemy. I used the "closest target" button and I couldn't see it like I usually do. Then I tried to cycle through. I cycled through and on most targets I could see the marker, but on some people I couldn't. This happened mostly on a single individual out of the many. Now here's the thing. I know it was supposed to be there because I could still force pull, etc. It still worked. I just couldn't see it. So my question is what am i doing wrong, is this a glitch, is this a cheat? Please inform because I have lost many goals etc for my team because of this. Thanks.

    my pvp channel

sorry i need to see some shadow tank matches! but nice work i will check it out I am interested a little in the Jedi guardian and his guarding skills.
  24. Wow. Well I didn't even know they considered it. So that's cool news for me. 1.) but if the game starts doing poorly they will have to combine the servers anyway...prob why they are stalling...to see what happens. 2) end of season tournaments = awesome. i'll take what I can get.
