  1. But from what I saw, social gear only allows you to change your look. No mods are included. As I rerolled my character, I only bought a cap. A cap I only use because it was cheep. I had to mod it so it bears some value. It looks silly on me, but I wear it anyway because it adds me buffs in combat. I take it off in conversations to not look silly.
  2. Lol. Sounds better in English. Pretty akwared in other languages, let´s say in russian.
  3. Why light sabers are called sabers while they should be called swords? Because a saber has only one cutting edge, and its shape is slightly twisted in the middle, while the sword is usually doble edged and has a straight shape.
  4. Real light sabers, when one is hit against another, would go throgh each other and kill the men that are holding them. As a result, we have two intact light sabers and two dead fighters
  5. I like doing heroics and grouping. And yesterday I was looking for sombebody to go solo with. So I had launched a message to General Chat "LF1 to go solo for social points." It´s widely known if you go solo with somebody you will make more social points than with heroics and flashpoints all together. And one dude asked me, why do you want social points. And I responded: "Well. You can use them to buy from social vendors..." And right then I stayed silenced... Really. Why do I need social points ? Social vendor´s gear and stuff suck. The armors are pretty standard, and doesn´t look at all like badaz, useful only by adding mods. But I can get that type of armor by questing and making heroics. Besided the armor I loot does look badaz. So, where is a reward for being social ?
  6. Is not a solution. Migration tool is more viable. Players shoud have a choice to where they want to migrate their characters. WoW has this tool, but it´s not free. But I equally agree to pay. Reroll is quite good too. I didn´t want to leave my server untill I played on a FULL server. After that I left my 30-level character for good and never watched back.
  7. The fleet is a hub of the major concentration of the players on a server. It´s an economical center too. If the fleet pop is below 60 then there there is some 90% of probability thant an average planets population is around 10-15. If you log in repeatedly to your server and see the fleet population of 80, next week, 60, and next week, 50...; is a good indication that the server is dying.
  8. Lol. I laughed so hard. You are an american, right ? The guy who doesn´t know where MMOs are made, in North or South Korea, must be an american.
  9. I think yes. SWTOR is an only Star Wars MMO available arround. An old said, you can not escape from a submarine.
  10. Strangely my thread has been closed. So I will repost my opinion here. It looks like if the word "merge" apears in the text, the thread is autimatically closed despite the context because the "When servers will be merged" exists. Well. This is my opinion. I don´t think SWTOR is dying, it´s just evolving. Well... Not with the help of Bioware, but many players just took their destiny to their own hands and rerolled to high pop servers witout waiting for server merging or a migration tool. And this is OK, SWTOR is not meant to be played solo. I was suffering on a low pop server too untill I realized I just loosing my time hoping for a miracle. Well... there will be no miracle... I pretty sure that Bioware WILL NOT MERGE SERVERS. A migration tool is more probable and useful because players must choose where they want to play, and it´s easier to implement. Well. Returning to the point of my thread, SWTOR is not dying, it´s just deflating itself to the size it had been meant to be from the begining. High hype arround this game is finally gone, and SWTOR Bane just loosed its nourishing of venom. BUT SWTOR keeps being a very good MMO arround. It doesn´t matter that it didn´t achive the WoW scale. It never had a chance against a 8 years enormity of WoW in the first place. 1.7 millions of suscribers is still very good number for a start MMO. Certainly this 1.7 will drop to 1 million eventually. But still 1 million is good number for a starter MMO. Actually this reflects the real worth of SWTOR, not the hyped one. And it´s more than enough to keep the game alive and Bioware happy. And this number, 1 million, will be steady with all ebbs and flows of subscriptions untill a new new full expansion comes out. Eventually, after some 6 years, SWTOR may come to WoW subscription numbers. I am actually sure that WoW didn´t have so many subscribers when it first came out. The number were arround a million too. Many 50s will unsubscribe for sure, but new players will come eventually too. SWTOR is one of the most friendly communities arroud, and very perfect for the people who want try theirselves in a new genre. I was one of them. I tried WoW sometime before SWTOR, and I got to level 30, but the whole game I played solo. I tried to group with other people, but they plainly ingnored me. All they were arround 60s and higer. During my playthrough in WoW, I couldn´t group not even once, and I was in guild with 50 people. In SWTOR, the situation was quite opposite. If you want to do Heroics, you must group with somebody. It´s pretty easy to group. I just throw a message to General Chat "Anyone for that heroic" and "LF1 more for <heroic>", and people always repond. SWTOR is the game that gave me the real feel of an MMO. For a person who never played MMO before, SWTOR just take me in without asking elitist jerk questions and awarded me with the title of Founder. And I am not a noob, I am proud PC gamer for the last 15 years, so I know how the games are played, from a heavy strategic ones such as Europa Universalis to Battlefield 1/2/3. Well. Returning to the topic again... The fact that so many people rerolled to new servers is not sign of decline. It´s the natural reaction of SWTOR community for the self preservation. There is no reason to stay on a empty server waiting for the number of subscribers to rise (untill a new expansion there will be no raise) or untill the server is merged (will never happen, migration tool is more probable). Eventually the community will establish itself on a few servers and will stay there untill a new expansion is released. After the latter, the community may be expanded to a few more servers and again stay static. It´s a very healthy reaction we are observing, it assures us that SWTOR came to stay. At least I will stay on my FULL server some 4 months more. And you ?

  12. Yep. I rerolled to Fatman too. The population was huge yesterday. The server went to FULL. But equally I could connect immediately. Fleet: 240 + I was doing the black talon and the population was staggering 38. 38 !!! doing this heroic simultaneously. Hutta: 120 Dromand Kaas 190 My old server is a wrecked ship which doesn´t stop to plunge more and more. Last time I check it, the fleet pop dived from 80 to 38, on planets, only a few people stay. Just unplayable any more.
  13. No. I just used an old russian anecdote. Impatient !? Me !? I walked the whole way through the S.t.a.l.k.e.r... and then I discovered there was a sprint key. Another one My grand father had gone through the whole WW2...untill 3 am...then he turned off Call of Duty and went to bed.
  14. When I registered my first craracter in february, my server was heavy, but in a week´s time it plunged to standard. But I didn´t give it too much importance. I was always able to find a group and do heroics. So I was pretty comfortable untill I went to Nar Shaddaa. With population ranging from 10 to 30, but most part of the time being 18, I tried to complete every quest, and I was pretty successful in this. Only 4 heroics left from Bonus series. So no big deal I said, I will complete them eventually returning from time to time from Hutta. So this I did. Again and again. Returning and returning. And the population always being 16-18. So at the end, I understood that I have to come back on weekends when the population is at least 30. That was Monday when I came to that conclusion. 5 days of waiting. So I sighed and decided to make a alt and try a heavy server. I made a pretty ugly imperial agent and started... Immediately I was blown away. The population of my starting planet Hutta was ranging from 80 to 100. With that population everything is cooler. For the fisrt time I saw other people making the same quests as I did Totally new level of inmersion. Able to see dozens of other people arround you going on their business. So much possibilities for grouping:eek: Not only heroics, but solo too, to get lots of social points . I almost drown with my saliva. If the starting planet is 80 then I just scared to imagine the fleet station population Exactly in this way my experience with SWTOR should start in the first place, and not with a crappy standard crap. My eyes fill with tears when I come back to a my old server. It´s like you had played a half of S.t.a.l.k.e.r. walking and suddenly discovered a sprint key. The populations of my standard server is the follwong weekdays - weekend Dromund Kass 20 - 30 Balmora 16 - 30 Nar Shadda 16 - 30 Hutta 20 - 30 Imperial Fleet 85-120 (I am thinking here´s all the population of the server , but 70 % of them are fifties) Nothing in comparison to the nineties of Hutta, and this is during the weekdays. Well...As a conlclusion, I´d like to say that merging of servers is needed. And it´s needed urgently. At least a migration tool. I even agree to pay, only to be able to move out my 30-level Sith Assasin from that Standard hell.
  15. Nop. I am not saying that. The narrative is some moments is good and others, pretty standard. There is always a margin to make things better. And yes, WoW without WoW is not WoW anymore. And SWTOR without SW is not SWTOR anymore. It´s the Hero Engine‎. You can not play an engine. You can develop a game on it to play, nothing else. I am pretty sure that any sci-fi franchises can replicate Star Wars, but it´s pretty illegal due to the protection of author rights. And I am certainly sure than you can´t wrap any crappy sci franchise into MMO because nobody will buy that. Let´s be realistic. That situation is hypothetic and very unplausible. No MMO will sell without a strong allure. For SWTOR, this allure is SW.
  16. And how I supposed to read this text puke. You know capital letters are good to begin sentences. And a key called Enter exists on the keyboard . I heard it´s pretty good to make paragraphs.
  17. Nop. I still don´t get it. "Some generic sci-fi franchise" is too vague. Warhammer 40000 ? Mass Effect ? Duna ? Foundation ? Besides extracting Star Wars from SWTOR errases the game completely. What Frankenstein I have to imagine ? Mass Effect with lightsabers and force ? In that case, there would be necessary a completely new development from scratch, new abilities, new balance, new narative. We just can predict what game it would be to take any decision.
  18. Lol. This discussion is pointless. If you hate grouping then don´t group. If you like grouping then group. It´s that simple. The game provide possibilities to cater to both groups . I go solo for solo content. I always group for heroics and flashpoints because those are meant for that purpose. And I am always able to find a group, and I don´t use microphone, just chat, and I am in no guild. SWTOR is one of the most grouping friendly games. Right now, a major part of people are coming to this thread to rejoice about their antisocial behavior. No big deal. And no big lost. Always there will be people happy to group.
  19. No. But it´s really stupid question and unplausible situation. Basically you are asking, whould you play SWTOR without 90% of SWTOR because Star Wars is everything in this game. Who, in his sound mind, would launch a new MMO without any allure in the first place? Besides you didn´t provide any possible alternatives to replace SW. In this case, your question is equivalent of would you play SWTOR if there is no SWTOR and any possible alternative to it. The logic answer to this is NO. No game no play.
  20. I am selling everything on GTN that I found during questing and I sell it with 60% from the regular vendor price. And my biggest sale day was 30k. And I considered myself pretty successful vendor. Cruel truth. I am level 30 and my biggest amount got to 70k before spending them on gear. Is there anybody arround 30 and who is a millioner.
  21. What betatesting ? The game is quite polished. I started to play since februry. And I haven´t confronted any bug yet. I just read in forums that some people have bugs. So this game is far from being a bug fest like some try to make believe us. I only miss some features from WoW which will be added with the upcomming patch. I played many single player games. None of them has been polished like SWTOR. These game surely has some bugs (I didn´t find any), but it´s far being considered betatesting.
