  1. You just mostly comparing singleplayer games to MMO. "Companions? Nope. Every BW game has companions. Games like ME and KotOR in fact, do companions better." Companions are fine. In WoW, pets don´t talk at all. "Story? Nope. A 9th grader reads better stories in his English class. Out of video games, this is hardly the best work out there either." The story is actually good. Show me some better stories in MMOs. "Environment? Nope. Corelia = Nar Shaada with lights turned on. Hoth = Tatooine with snow over the sand. Tons (I mean TONS) of areas are copy pasted and reused. Orbital stations are a joke. Fleets are identical. Nothing is unique." Environments are gorgeous in SWTOR. I barely saw any better environs even in a singleplayer games. Very detailed and epic. "Abilities? Nope. Ridiculous amount of CC, and copy past abilities between classes lead to only 3 real classes: tank, healer, DPS. Everyone is the same give or take." Like anyother MMOs arround. No one invented something better. It´s a question of balance, too, like the chess. "Voice overs? Nope. Not unique to this game and quantity over quality for the most part in here (only story ones were wel done for most part)." You are just trashing the game. Voice overs are great. Show me any other MMO with voice overs. "Space combat? Nope. Star fox 64." Space combat is just a nice addition. It´s better than fishing. "PvP? Nope. Guild wars, Diablo, every shooter out there." Lol. Are you kidding. Battlefield > SWTOR. LOL. Apple > Oranges. "PvE? Nope. 9/10 bosses are tank and spank. Very boring boss mechanics in general." Disagree. Bosses are quite challenging. I played WoW untill level 30, I found only 3 epic bosses through the game and I was able to kill them without grouping. "Events? Nope. No Christmas, New Years, or Valentines day events anywhere to be seen. Rift did server wide events. It's been done before." WoW. It´s so deal breaking not able to see valentine hearts arround. "Community? Nope. This game feels like single player game with a chat window. Even Gauntlet has a more social feel to it with 4 players." Comunity is great. The most grouping friendly game I played. People really responding your question if you post them to general chat. I just made 30 k on the galactic market today. "To be fair, I guess legacy system is their new "game changing" perk. But for me, a time sink in leveling up alts is a cop out to developing truly fun game play. Story can only keep me interested for so long before I read a book or watch a movie. Bad game play is the reason I unsubbed and probably will never come back when my time expires. To them, this game is playing as intended. To me, there is better gameplay in other games. " Just in 4 months after realease we are receiving a huge patch with new content. WoW delivered just one battleground after a year from the release.
  2. LOL. Thanks god. I just feared that I may have that syndrom too.
  3. LOL. I like to tell people what to do. But in most cases, I am the leader of the group. But in some cases, it´s necesary. When the heroic is tough and the heals are low, the coordination is needed. For example, 1) Attack the weaker enemies first, before engaging boss. 2) I am Sith Assasin, and I cast "Mind trap" disabling the enemy for 60 secs, and usually I cry "Don´t attack disabled enemies" because it ruins the spell. But people usually do anyway. 3) I often ask people to engage the same target I do to kill it quickly and pass on tougher target. Greatly ingnored by many. Usually everyone is engaging enemies in random, and the group dies quickly. 4) Many ignore their classes advantages and don´t cast sleeping spell on monsters. I had a group with three sith assasins. Only me and othe guy casted "mind trap", another just ignored any message we sent to him and finally after the group died several times he quitted. Three sith assasins:eek: . Pretty easy to complete heroic. Just to cast three "Mind traps" simultaneously, and engage monsters one by one. Very easy. Not that time.
  4. I have quite an opposite opinion. People are grouping in this game quite easily. I tried WoW sometime before, and got to level 30, but mostly I played solo. I tried to group with other people, but they plainly ingnored me. During my playthrough in WoW, I couldn´t group not even once, and I was in guild with 50 people. In SWTOR is quite opposite. If you want to do Heroics, you must group with somebody. The groups usually are of 4. It´s pretty easy to group. I just throw a message to General Chat "Anyone for that heroic" and "LF1 more for <heroic>", and people usually always repond. The population on my server is not great. In Nar Shaddaa, in the peak time, it usually gets to 30. But even arround 20, it´s possible to find a group. When the population is 30, it usually takes me 5 min to compose a group. If 20, then some 20-30 minutes. I just throw a message and then go solo untill the message is responded. And when I am on the space station, the flow of LFG there is nearly incessant. (Population 80-120) Right now, SWTOR is the most grouping friendly game I know. But equally I only played WoW and SWTOR, so I am not an expert.
  5. I like grouping. I would like to have some groupies.
  6. For my taste, it was too much story driven. Leaving nothing for exploration or imagination. Great story is not always equal to story driven gameplay. Let´s take ME1. For me, that game had the best SFI story in the game history, but mantaining certain freedom for exploration and combat. ME3 in change is heavily on rail. He´s dialog system is horrible: only two two dialog options which purpose is to trigger the next series of cutscenes.
  7. I disagree. Mass Effect influence on SWTOR was huge. Clearly Bioware used their past experience making a SFI mmo. If we star looking we will find 101 similaritis. One of the biggest common charactics, both are story driven games with basically identical dialog systems.
  8. Despite being a huge fun of the first two Mass Effect games, I was deeply disapointed the third and final installment. SWTOR keeps a huge resemblance with ME in many aspects: the acted dialogs, morality choices, both are rpg, codexes, even some interface menus, etc. From what I saw, the devepers of SWTOR borrowed a lot of game features from their successful spacefare saga. Well... in consequence, SWTOR and ME are very comparable. Well...in my opinion SWTOR is a much better game to quench your SFI thirst. At least after playing ME3 for 30 hours I realized I waisted my time with this inferior product. These are the reasons: 1. ME is not RPG anymore. Not a bit. It´s a Gears of War with some customization elements. 2. In SWTOR you have 3 dialog options: neutral, dark and light, and many times they are not so obivous. In ME3, you have only two. Actually you don´t have to read them, you just choose the upper one for Paragon and the lower one for "Paragon with bad manners". 3. In SWTOR, you can be really evil, in ME3, the extreme option, as I already said, is "Paragon with bad manners". 4. SWTOR cutscenes are better acted and better animated. ME3 has some good moments, but the quality of cutscene are inferior to ME1/2. Some anymations are pretty painful to watch. 5. Run animation is much better in SWTOR . It´s just a detail, I know, but this is a detail you must watch the whole game. 6. SWTOR combat is more intresting, at least for me. To much Gears of War style games had came out lately. 7. Overall graphical presentaion is better in SWTOR. In highest settings in full HD, I can see pixels on some textures in ME3:eek:. The environments in SWTOR are more epic and convincing. In ME3 I always had a feeling that environements are actually mobile painted decorations, if you extend your hand you actually can touch that huge spaceship or planet in flames in the horizon. The introduction is straight forward ugly. 8. ME3 has a lot of fetch quests. For a single player game, my expectations are a bit higher. Besides these fetch quests kill the urgency of saving the galaxy. I better do fetch quests in SWTOR, I will get more experience points for them 9. SWTOR has much more variety in weepons and gears, and in customization options. I recognize the comparison is a bit unfair, but I compare the overall quality of the games. 10. ME3 ending is bad. No spoilers. 11. ME3 is very glitchy right now. Some quest can´t be completed, but they will keep being active untill the end. For example, Eden Prime mission. If you failed to collect all three intels, you can´t come back to Eden Prime after completing the main plot, but quest will be displayed as active. And I had crashes to my desktop every 1 hour and half of the gameplay. Some gltchy animation, for example, getting stuck after a conversation on a plain place and not be able to move untill loading an automatic save (happened once, at least). Some weird face animation during the conversations, like the head twisted and looking the opposite direction while talking. Well... as a conclusion you can see that a singleplayer game is loosing against a MMO in narative, dialog option, graphics and gameplay mechanics. This comparison is not extended on ME1 and 2. Those game are great masterpieces. There was a thread if you should buy ME3 after having bought SWTOR ? Well... my advice would be play ME1/2, and if you already played them then don´t bother, keep playing SWTOR.
  9. I guess he´s talking about heroic areas. You can´t solo them. Just be social, either spam the chat with LFG <name of heroic quest>. and someone will invite you or just look arround for someone already doing the heroic and bother them untill they invite you to the group. Heroics are the funniest thing this game has to offer.
  10. They should go to do the dayly then or do heroics.
  11. I am really enjoying my character story and my slow pace levelling. Then I went for my first flashpoint. I was very anxious to made one because I heard many positive things about them. I teamed up with two guys, and...they were yelling at me "SPACE BAAAAR" all the time to skip all the cutscenes. As result I couldn´t see any story behind. My mood dropped after that. This wasn´t a dayly flash. So if you already played a flashpoint what´s the reason to play it again. Really ? To touch level 50 and then go to whine to forums that you level too fast and the game doesn´t have any endgame content ? And I really liked the first intros. So I stayed with wishes to know what it was about. The most funny thing is the guys were of lower levels than me, and died during the combat against some middle boss, and I had to fihnish the combat alone and revive them after. Pretty lame experience.
  12. How people can touch 50 level so fast in the first place ? I was playing the game 3 hours a day for 3 weeks, and I am only level 19. But let me guess. They are ones of those who yell at you "SPACE BAAAAAAAAAR" when you do a flashpoint.
  13. You should have bought a new PC in "Buy More". Chuck would have helped you to choose one.
  14. Well. It does. I started to play in february, and my server from heavy became standard in a weeks´s time. Equally I didn´t notice the drop while I was levelling in Dromund Kaas. But when I travelled to Balmora it´s me now and three other guys. There´s no possibility to do heroics. Just sad. This game really started to grow on me. But population diffrences in some locations is just too painful.
  15. Well. Tendency is present. But population diffrences in some locations is just too paiful.
  16. If Bioware wants to see Galactic Trade Network to grow, the following improvement should be done. 1. Possibility to add items by batch and by unit. I craft swords and mods. Every sword I craft I need to add one by one instead of just to add them as a batch and specify the price for unit. 2. A recent transactions historial is needed, so I can track what was sold and , in cosequence, needs a replenishment. 3. I need to be able to visualize a price tag which the regural vendor would give me. I had to run back and forth, from vendor to GTN machine so I can deduce the price of the item I want to post. 4. For items which hasn´t been sold I need a button in my email, so I can repost the item. I have some 30 items in GTN, if 10 of them haven´t been sold is a damned task to repost them. At least add me a tab of unsold items and such button to the GTN machine. 5. My ship needs an e-mail device. I can receive holographic transmission and I can´t check my mail. 6. The access to GTN from the ship would be nice too. But this can break some economical balance, so it´s not primordial. Well... this is all I could figure out.
  17. Nop. I have ATI. And last time I updated it was a month ago.
  18. So why people complained about graphics, too. This game has many flaws. But graphic quality is not amid them. I played Witcher 2. It´s one of my favorite RPG. After Witcher 2 SWTOR is the best looking rpg I ever played.
  19. I saw youtube beta trailers. And they show pretty good quality faces. Then I read somewhere that beta high quality textures will not be included in the final product. And they were not included. Did they change their mind ? Because I what I saw had looked like in Beta trailers.
  20. Lol. Pretty good bug then. Please, Bioware, don´t fix it. Do you played yesterday ? I didn´t notice it untill then. Basically I noticed graphical improvement on everything. Environs textures, monsters, NPCs. Is it just Balmora ?
  21. I just noticed it yesterday after my launcher downloaded some patches. I am playing this game everything maxed in full hd. When I logged in yesterday and after playing a while something strange called my attention. I start scrutinize my environement untill I realized. Jesus. NPC faces stopped to be so plastic. I acctually saw wrinkles on a npc face. I was on Balmora talking to some quest NPC whose wife committed the treason. And I saw his face full of wrinkles under his eyes and...this was...beautiful. Well...there were wrinkles and scarces before, but never so close to Mass Effect 2 quality. Then I started to pay attention to every daetail. Every NPC I talked looked more realistic, except hair. Hair stayed the same, but faces had more textures... I checked the draw distance. Drastically improved. I was standing on the ledge observing from 300 feets of high a full plain dotted with ant-sized NPCs and buildings on it. And the environments ... I don´t want to exagerate but this is one the most beautifull environs I saw in the game. Witcher 2 is still the best. But they were just epic. And one more detail in favor of the fact that there were improvements in graphics. My FPS dropped. But fortunately it was pretty high before, so I still have stable 60 fps. I am not a fanboy of SWTOR. If you looked in my post history I left some unpleasant comments about it before. But despite its flaws I must recognize SWTOR has pretty good damned graphics. Someone else noticed it or it´s just me ?
