  1. is this a forum rule I missed somewhere? Did my post somehow offend you? The only solution in that thread was to send an email to support (I had already opened a ticket, so that would be kinda pointless). I started this thread to see if anyone else might have experienced this, and so the dev's might be aware that it could be a bug related to 7.2.1.
  2. That thread doesn't apply to my situation. I am not FTP and I did not use the Master's datacron prior to 7.2.1 And before you ask, yes, I opened a support ticket in game. I only posted here as a potential bug in 7.2.1 and thought someone else might have found a way to resolve it. I've tried logging off and back on, leaving the ship (to Tython) and coming back. I have the option to Abandon the mission, but this seems like a potentially bad plan, so I'll wait for a response to my ticket before I do that.
  3. I just purchased and used the Master's Datacron on a Level 1 character. The screen went white, and I was transported to my ship, but the level up to level 80 never happened. My character is still on the ship and he has a level 70 missioned called "Master's Datacron - Increasing Level", but there doesn't seem to be a way to advance the mission. How can I advance this mission?
  4. HI folks. Those frustrated with the right-click/auto loot/area loot settings bug, if you go into preferences and unset all of the settings that aren't working (top section of the window) and click apply and ok, then re-open the window and set them again, the click apply/ok again, they will work. I know it's frustrating having to do this every time your changes zones, but it's better than manually looting everything Also, similar with key bindings. if you set up all of your key bindings, then 'export' them using that function, next time you load an area and don't have them, you can go into the key bindings import and have them back again.
  5. I just ran this in Solo Story Mode (from the Activity Finder). Level 80 Tactics Vanguard with Influence 50 Elara Dorn. The trash stuff was fine. Just enough to be interesting. Not too hard, not too easy. I didn't have any trouble with the first boss 2nd boss was a different story. It took me a few tries to figure out the mechanic for destroying the cores. The problem I had was keeping Elara from standing in the stupid. I never got past the 3rd core because she died. I know these things are supposed to be hard, but I feel like the adds on this phase is a bit overtuned for the average player. It feels like one of those flashpoints that I'll do a few times for the story, then just skip it for the rest of the alts. One other note. I normally run with "Very High" graphics and have no issues, but this area was too laggy. I had to set it down to "Medium" before I could rotate my camera smoothly. It was particularly bad in the outdoor area when you first enter the FP.
  6. What will happen with our renown ranks after the 7.0 update? Will ranks be converted to Experience? Or do we just lose them?
  7. I haven't read this entire thread, but I'm not a huge fan of the new UI aesthetic either. Also, from a usability standpoint, many of the 'clickable' objects are not obviously clickable. For example the tiny little icon that opens the character panel is not obviously interactive, even on mouseover. It might seem obvious that it's a clickable link to experienced players due to it's similarity to the live UI, but newer players may struggle to find this critical link.
  8. I have more than a dozen characters at level 65 in a mix of 208 and 216 (bought from crystal vendors) that I play regularly. Two dozen total, across both factions, with 17 of them being level 60+. I've been playing since launch, and consider myself very casual (I don't do ops much... occasional flashpoint with friends, mostly solo, as that is what my play time accomodates). I'm in a guild with other players with similar play styles. I have played all classes, and consider myself a good player (within the context given above). I know the classes, roles, etc... That being said, i have been very frustrated the last few days since the companion nerf. I'm going to focus my comments on the H2's, since that is what I am spending almost all of my time doing these days. There is such a huge disparity in difficulty between these 'Heroic 2+' missions we are doing to grind influence. One one end of the scale, clicking the heroic transport icon to go to Ord Mantell and right click on Gizmels Droid does not require any player skill, or a companion. And my characters, all of them, can rolfstomp the other two heroics there without a companion at all, and with very little down time. The problem is, too many of the H2's are at the far opposite end of the scale in terms of difficulty and time to complete. I'm talking about all of the Heroics on Makeb and Voss, and a handful of others across the various planets. Can I complete them? Yes. Without dying? Yes. Do they take too long to complete to be worth the reward? Yes!! When you consider how many companions I have across how many alts I have, the influence grind is daunting. These missions are the only real way to get my companions influence up to a level that is useful under the current system. Honestly, my frustration with the system is not that you killed my companions healing. LIke others, I just can't believe that you used that sledgehammer to 'tune' your game. The REAL PROBLEM is not the companions. It's the fact that there are SO MANY OF THEM, and it takes SO LONG to grind the influence we need with the Alliance leaders (we NEED level 10 in order too even consider the H2 Star Fortress missions). For those of us who are not end game raiders, who are running around with 224 geared characters, we still need to be able to log in and get things done. It NEEDS TO BE FUN - NOT A GRIND !!. The Alliance grind is so daunting right now that it's completely demoralized me in terms of playing alts. I'm slowing chipping away at just ONE character. You turned your alt-friendly game into one that forces you to focus on just one or two characters. I have two dozen characters, most of them at or near max level. I could always log in any one of them and run a weekly to upgrade a gear slot, or earn them some credits to buy something shiny. Now, i'im completely overwhelmed with this Alliance system to the point that I'm completely discouraged to even log in and play. Having the companions over powered compensated for this to some degree. Now, not so much. My last comment is regarding the 800lb gorilla that is PvP in this scenario. I understand the overpowered healer companions pretty much breaks Open World PvP. I DO NOT CARE! I can NOT believe you would make such a dramatic sweeping change that affects every character of every level who chooses any play style, just to fix open world PvP. I play on a PvE server, and do not engage in PvP, even in Warzones. Honestly, if having my healer companion out lets me laugh in the face of people who would try to AOE gank me in a non-PVP scenario, then I'm all for it. Seriously, find another way to deal with the PvP stuff, or just do away with it altogether. There is nothing good (in a predominantly PvE oriented game) that comes from trying to tune characters to make PvP "Balanced" for whatever definition of that word you choose. My suggestions? Put companions back the way they were prior to 4.02 and leave them alone for a while. Devote your development time to fixing the damned bugs Stop breaking PvE in the name of trying to balance PvP Start thinking of a way to undo the damage you've done to the alt-friendly nature of the game (with this Alliance system)
  9. As a casual player with lots of alts (22 total, 17 level 65), the thought of grinding rank 50 influence was already daunting. The one saving grace is that the companions were pretty powerful, and the grind wasn't as necessary nor as difficult. I've been through a lot with this game (subscriber since launch), but this new direction they are taking with the Alliance being the new 'grind', and the poor way it was implemented is really discouraging for people with a lot of characters. Add to that being a completionist. It's not fun anymore. It's just overwhelming to even think about doing all of those H2's on that many characters with companions that can't keep up with heals. Heroics that were somewhat challenging (multiple mobs like those on Republic Belsavis) are now impossible to do. At least in any reasonable amount of time. The developers did a FANTASTIC job with the story in KotFE. The production, artwork, cinematics, etc.. it was all GREAT. But the post chapter 9 gameplay .. UGH... This is too much. I'm not doing it. It's no longer fun. It's work. I'm completely disgusted with SWTOR right now.
  10. Pardon me for piling on, but count me amongst those who have not had their level 60 character tokens (x2) refunded.
  11. This statement seems to conflict with your forums signature.
  12. I noticed this last week (first week of Nov). At first I thought it might just be a little lag or something, but playing tonight it seems to be worse. I don't have very many details, but I was on Oricon tonight running the weekly, and noticed that several times, my interrupts fired, but failed to interrupt anything. It happened some stuns too. For example, on my Scoundrel, fighting the Bothrium boss, three times in a row when I tried to use 'Distraction' to interrupt extract, it fired in plenty of time, but did not interrupt the skill. Normally this fight is fairly easy for me (interrupt Extract and kill the tentacle), but not being able to Interrupt Extract made it quite the pain. I ended up having to use Heroic Moment, but eventually won. Then later, killing the boss for Dread Engines, I noticed similar behavior for Dirty Kick (not stunning as it should). I had noticed similar problems for the last week or two on my Vanguard tank as well, but it was infrequent enough I chalked it up to sloppy play on my part, but today, it seems much worse. I asked in general chat on Makeb tonight during a TC HM, and several other people said they have noticed it too... Has anyone else noticed problems with interrupts not working? Edit to add some details: This is on The Harbinger, Republic side Ping/Server Lag is between 32-38, which is normal. Not noticing any spikes or anything. it's happened solo (running dailies), and in instanced Flashpoints, etc... with a group It's happened on at least three different characters at different times
  13. tor-fashion.com has some nice screenshots http://tor-fashion.com/crystals/
  14. As a subscriber, I would only be willing to accept this if I could turn it off. I have a few characters that I'm not interesting in leveling (at least not quickly) because they fill a role with specific groups in my guild. If I log in a level 45 healer to help some guidlies run a flashpoint, I don't want to come out at level 47. I like having the healer at 45, as a fill-in for guild groups who are leveling. I have several characters at various levels that I don't want to advance for similar reasons. On the otherhand, when I am expressly trying to level a character to get to end-game, having bonus XP as a optional subscriber/legacy 50 reward would be a nice-to-have.
  15. Aim and Cunning users. Force users get screwed on these.
  16. I guess I don't understand the attraction to the Seeker Droid. I spent some time doing it before, as an alternative to running dailies, or repeating the same flashpoints over and over again to earn gear/money/rep. The seeker droid was a nice alternative, and at least if I found some mods, I was getting some reward for my time. Now, if I either already have, or don't have any interest in the DreadSeed/Forager armor or the GSI speeders, I have zero incentive to slam on the brakes when I see that red text telling my seeker droid is active. The seeker droid has so much potential to be an alternative mini-game to break up the monotonous grind of dailes/flashpoints/ops. All you have to do is give us some fun and interesting reasons to stop and play when we encounter the areas. Feedback/Suggestion: Make the rewards for the system on par with (or slightly less than) running dailies. Whether it be commendations or credits, or items we can sell. Mindlessly wandering around a planet should merit some kind of reward in the same way mindlessly running dailies on black hole does. Add something interesting to the loot tables. Perhaps some companion only armor pieces, or even companion only armor sets with a unique look (I'm not talking game breaking here, just something fun and unique)
  17. I'm going to pile on here by saying that it doesn't make sense that the vendor items are BtL, but the Helix components are not. And I would also like to point out that making a mount BtL is kind of pointless, as once it's consumed, its no longer usable by your legacy, unlike the other BtL weapons/armor. Additionally, the reputation currency is inconsistent across the game. For example, the Cartel Market Certificate is BtL, but the Grey Helix Components are BoP. Why the difference? I have lots of alts, and running them through the dailies and weeklies at iIum make getting rep easy. I have plenty of Helix components across my legacy, but not enough on any one character to buy the mount (for example). This is a very alt-friendly game. It's one of the things I really appreciate about it. Unfortunately, there are some things, like these grey helix components, that are contradictory (not alt-friendly).
  18. I love collecting stuff like this in games. I don't even mind that they are obtained mainly via the random cartel packs (as long as they can bought on the GTN). The problem is, especially for the animal/beast pets... 1. There are too many and they are too similar to each other. Very few of them stand out to be unique 2. Other than minor color variants, there is nothing unique about them to give them personality or character 3. They are too small, combined with the games camera system, it's hard to even get a good look at them The ship model/toy pets are (mostly) better. Mainly because they are not so low to the ground that you can't see them, and they are somewhat unique in color/shape/size. As a suggestion, let us have some of the in game creatures as pets. For example, I have a fond affection for "Fang" from the Cademimu flashpoint (Bioanlysis bonus pet). I would love to have him (her?) in all his full size/colorful glory, complete with his name as a pet I can take with me anywhere (not a combat pet, just a vanity pet).
  19. I had this exact same thing happen to me. I used the first one as soon as I got it. Then opened another pack and got a second, and it was bound (no timer). Creating a ticket!!
  20. Any chance of getting some details on the Seattle Cantina Tour? Specific dates/times/location? I'm in the final stages of planning a trip in that area, and would love to attend.
  21. Like others have said; 1. Buy a level 10 advanced hawkeye and indestructible crystal on the GTN, then unlock them via collections 2. Buy moddable weapons and armor 3. Level a cybertech 4. Save the rest for augments once you hit 55 5. PROFIT !
  22. Doc hands down. Prop to Theran for making his own sexy woman though.
  23. For the purposes of establishing a vpn, you will want to terminate as close as possible to their service providers peering point. Use a traceroute/tracert/tracepath tool to determine the path, and then do a little homework to determine where the closest major hand off point is. Honestly, though, its not likely to make much difference. Whether you tunnel or not, you still have to traverse all of those latency ridden peering points in between.
