  1. There are two quests that need to be done in the open PvP area that award reputation trophies and I did the numbers and if you do every one of the PvE quests and skip the PvP quests you will end up short of the required amount of rep you need to buy the legacy weapon if you only have a single level 50 character. You can do the quest on multiple characters and hit your legacy reputation cap easier, but the portion of the population with multiple level 50 characters is a small percentage of the population, the so called "hardcores" who play the game every waking moment of their day. My idea is that on PvE servers during the event the PvP quests are replaced with a PvE quest with the same reward , this way the event won't be ruined by a small percentage of griefers in elite war hero gear who can make mincemeat out of people who have no interest in PvP and have not geared for it but would like a legacy weapon. PvP should not be a requirement for advancement on a PvE server.
  2. Could the next event be an exclusively PvE event with no PvP content on PvE servers since the people on PvE servers who rolled on a PvE server because they wanted to avoid world PvP are being forced to PvP if they want to get the rewards off this event which makes for a lot of people who have no interest in PvP missing out on enjoying the full event or being torn to pieces by the few PvP guilds who are griefing the event. Ilum is a slaughterfest at the moment on the PvE server I have rolled with about half a dozen guilds being able to complete the event while they block the event for PvE guilds and spam the general chat with taunts to anyone who even tries and is not part of their clique. My suggestion is that for the next event's PvP content be replaced with extra PvE quests so that PvEers can get the full rewards. Also in before comments about Carebears, crying you a river and my tears will only make you stronger, I have completed the event with ease despite the griefers but I am concerned for people who have no interest and/or skill at PvP and rolled on a PvE server for that reason.
  3. 1400+ heals? I do twice that as an arsenal spec merc.
  4. Most people get absolutely demolished by 24/7 players and hackers and give up before they have a chance to learn and gear up. And the recruit gear is not much help since it is so distinctive looking that they may as well have a 50 foot tall neon sign hanging above their head saying "focus fire on me for an easy kill". And the end result is that in the end the 24/7 players are shooting themselves in both their feet by driving the new players away and they have to put up with 2 or 3 hours of waiting for a warzone to pop. And having elitist pigs of 24/7ers who only say "L2P nub" rather than giving constructive advice for a beginner to get better will not help this situation.
  5. That is why I can demolish republic characters on my BH, it is not because bounty hunters are powerful, it is because I know every trick a they can pull since I have played every republic class to level 50.
  6. The pet will probably get added to by menagerie. I love pets and I have nearly all of them. The holostatue will probably be used a couple of times and tossed in the bank and forgotten. And the title will probably be used occasionally in KP.
  7. You end up paying 10x - 15x the price of the mats + tip from a crafter on the GTN
  8. Mon Calamari Would be fun. Their racial ability could be trap finding.
  9. I have been saving character slots for a Cathar smuggler and a Sith maurader. I think they would be the ideal first race to make playable and I would not mind if they cost 600 CP to unlock.
  10. Cross server PvP will potentially make it easier to implement ranked PvP matches where players get matched against other players with a similar kill/death ratio, making PvP more fun and getting more players interested in PvP. After all it can be pretty discouraging to be repeatedly roflstomped in every match you play and more players may play and gain the skills needed for the higher ranked PvP matches. Throwing beginners in against people who do nothing but PvP all day , every day , is not the ideal learning environment. (this concludes today's rant, have a nice day.)
  11. Hit them with an interrupt or a hold ability... as so many other people before me have said.
  12. I have dueled every class one on one as a sentinel and I have won about 50% of the time against each class (if they are similarly equipped to me). All it takes is knowing which tools to use in which fight, gimping the movement of ranged classes works well when they try and kite me. The problems arise when I have to take on a team and I am by myself or when the healer I have following me takes a dirtnap during warzones or Illum.
  13. I like the stories, I am finding that I am running alts far more often than I usually do in MMOs just so I can get the story for each class.
  14. Read up on starwars lore to get some idea about the general naming themes for each species. Or failing that just hit the random name button until you see one you like. I chose my name since it was my character's name in SWG and I wanted some continuity. But don't mix WoW lore with SW lore it is somewhat annoying and you will end up being 'that guy' with the WoW name. Also if you do not like your hair buy a helmet or a hooded robe...
  15. The decisions you make in the jedi knight storyline effect future conversations in later chapters.
  16. I had to produce my drivers license as proof of age to buy this game at the store because of the M rating. The evil does not concern me too much I enjoy my sith marauder being a psychopathic killer , but it will seriously cut into sales. I have seen more than one teen being turned away from buying the game owing to the ratings laws.
  17. I am hoping that the obvious flaws (no head, bactra tank or crew berths) will be fixed when the ship customization which was promised is implemented.
  18. I saw a guy wizzing around on a speeder with both sabers ignited and I swear he should of been leaving a pair of grooves on the ground.
  19. /signed I would like to pull my hood back occasionally .
  20. I play a sentinel and I am used to my health dropping to 40% or less every fight in dailies (I have full daily com gear and some eternity vault gear). I play a extremely tactical style and I use every advantage the environment offers (exploding barrels, LOS blocking ranged attacks) and getting a minion to tank or tag team an opponent with Kira, hitting force camouflage and letting her take the hits for the last bit of the fight. Play style can mitigate squishyness , but the sentinel is a 'glass cannon' class. they can deliver damage , but they can't take hits.
  21. The act 1 finale fight was difficult but I got it on my 5th try by going all out with my DPS. Kira's brother fight was easy The emperor fight was buggy but I called in help to have someone else take the instant death attack for me and I paid his repair bill.
  22. PVP in any mmo is just a contest where you take turns kicking each other in the shins until one of you drops. The contest is decided by who has the bigger boots or who has brought the most number of boots along (which team has more players). If you want real PvP where skill is a factor then go play BF3 or MW3 , mmos are just not suited to fair or balanced combat.
  23. I have noticed a little exploit griefers like to use, they flag up for pvp on a pve server and walk into the middle of a fight where lots of aoes are going off like a world boss fight and get the entire ops group flagged then their friends swoop in and kill off the ops group that is attacking the world boss. This needs to be fixed on pve servers to keep pve consensual and eliminate a method of griefing. I understand that on PvP servers it is anything goes but if I wanted that I would of rolled on a pvp server.
  24. I played wow since closed beta , I played a hunter , I liked playing a hunter , it had a style of game play that came naturally to me , then with cataclysm they made so many changes to that class that it may as well of been a entirely different class for me. I stuck around for six months and had a go at adjusting to the new character , but it was not the same , the class lost that special something that made it great for me, so when my last time card ran out about a year and a half ago I never bothered to buy a new one, I posted my farewells on my guild forum and left the game forever, I have never returned to play WoW since then. Other friends from that game have told me that they have had similar experiences with their classes and they have left too.
