  2. I'm tempted to write a long post with examples and everything on feminism and feminazism (or however it should be written). But safe to say your former friend most likely falls in the later category. She doesn't want equality, she wants superiority. It's a big mess with everything related to political correctness for a few years now, and it doesn't look like it will end any time soon. But to move to that R-word. I know for a fact that there are people who are curious about it, people that don't intend to do it, don't really want to be a victim of it, but do wonder what it would be like. Not as much my thing, I'd rather just cuddle with consent, but that's beside the point. What people do with another consenting both is up to them, at least as long as they don't force it onto others. If a game can help them achieve this then what's the problem? It doesn't make anyone of less worth. If you want to dress scantily but feel society would look down at you with judging eyes, a game that allows you to do so can be a much needed outlet even if less efficient. Same if someone gets on my nerves, I may feel like I could kill them but I can take those feelings into a game and PvE or PvP to get it out of my system, it doesn't mean a game makes me into a killer if anything it could potentially help prevent it. People who try to force their views onto you are not worth it. I hope my post helps you in some way. Also, I would have loved it for males to be able to wear female clothing and vice versa. There's this male outfit that I think would have looked perfect on a certain female character of mine, it was hard going for that true tomboy look, best chest piece available is republic only and my character was imperial.
  3. In the convo heavy FPs I always ask, mostly because if people do want to watch it, I might as well also watch. Nothing as annoying as to skip and having to wait a long time on other people. Then there's the people that go "SKIP!" in chat, but regardless what you do, skip or not, you just end up waiting. In many FPs it doesn't matter much and it's easier to just go with whatever, unless you get an airlock scene... *watches* That's why you talk about what you do or do not wan't, you can come to an understanding and make compromises, or that one person can decide to adapt or leave. It doesn't need a kick which only leads to people using ignore lists. You may vote against kicking but still end up on ignore list by the person that got kicked, which can hurt future matchmaking. Only makes me more likely to not skip when I was skipping before. Been there in fact, don't know who was hitting Escape those times, but after a few rounds of escaping they seemed to catch on. [on other notes] The Bonus boss, oh wait, people want to skip that 99.99% (rounded down) of the time. In many FPs only around for Master Mode, unless they also added it to veteran mode when they changed the names. People are so rushed they even want to skip that, no they are too rushed to even say they want to skip it when asked. A lot of people seem quite happy to kick in this thread, but they don't want to talk about re-queuing. I guess everyone just takes companions? If so I can argue that there's story/solo mode for that just as easily as people say there's that for having the convos. I have a feeling a lot of people are here to defend "their right to kick". What's wrong in taking a few moments to allow people to understand your opinion and at least give them a chance to adapt or leave (or convince you if you're the minority) rather than having them or you waste time by being kicked midway?
  4. Sadly "mature adults" are rare these days, a shame really, even when disregarding the adults part of it as age doesn't matter. I do agree with you and things that aren't discussed at the start would be up for discussion when the need arises, if only more people were up for such. Far too often there is a single bad apple in the batch. I don't know how often I have seen someone ask to do the bonus, have two people agree (myself being one of those three obviously), with the last to remain silent or even agreeing as well. Then this last one goes rushing all the way and you can't kick him unless you're rude enough not to put in a reason as you can't kick during combat. In the end they often won or the whole FP failed because finding replacements has often been too slow. The opposite is also true, Copero being a good example of that. Every time I asked if I should stealth to the first boss as that saves a lot of time I was met with silence, only to have impatience lead them to rush into combat, thus spending even more time. I know it's not a language barrier in most cases as they write in English later on. I do hope to see an increase in group interactions & communications, but my hopes are quite low at the moment.
  5. It's equally selfish to try to force people to rush. Who is anyone to claim what the correct path has to be? Especially scavenging one or two droids while other people rest and recharge should not be an issue. Just like the ones wanting to rush can ask for that. If no one enters the chat no one can voice their opinions/be heard, no one can assume o know exactly what's on people's minds. It's not single player, so communication can be important, especially when dealing with harder content. If you jump to kicking you risk the group falling apart, I've seen that all too often, and still consider it a last resort. Kicking example I had: Someone doesn't listen, doesn't rest up, it's the typical Moronic marauder. I try to get him to acknowledge that I am trying to communicate, he remains ignoring everything. I ask people to wait because there was an boss fight coming up that was new at the time or just more but of course he runs in at half health. So after wiping I initiate the kick typing a reason even and he's all "Why you kick me?". I thought I was too patient with him but a friend I was in the FP with commended me for using this much patience. For me kicking will be a last resort unless the community keeps degrading too much and everything feels useless, but then I'll ask myself why I even queue. And it still doesn't mean a kick should come with an insult.
  6. Personally I would have given a few moments after each battle to recuperate and scavenge. I would probably just scavenge alongside you, plenty of droids and it makes scavenging go faster. If I felt I didn't have the time I would likely not have joined the queue to begin with, or if happening to drop in one of the longer FPs I would try to talk and make you understand a possible time constraint. I tend to just let the vote expire if people can't take 10 seconds to give a real reason. That said, I did notice a worsening in behavior post merge. The stereotype Moronic Marauders have returned, it used to be 99% of all Marauders was one, the kind that ran into bosses at 1% health ahead of the tank, assuming the healer keeps them at full health while they are at zero resources from trying to keep people alive. Now they are back and it's not just Marauders anymore, even if Marauders are still #1. That is how impatient people are, and it's way beyond not knowing your class because of face-roll mode.
  7. I still don't see how "just putting the things in the shop" is a "Subscriber Reward System", if anything it's sooner the opposite. I don't personally mind if they put those things up for sale or as part of a new reward system to give newer subscribers a second chance to get the items. Accumulated cartel coins are not that big of a deal, there is too much cartel market focus to make that mean much. They give a few coins but taunt you to spend over ten times as many. It would go a small way if they said "We have a new pack out, oh you subscribers, do you want a free pack or one of these listed items for no extra charge already unlocked in collections?" in such case they choose which items from a pack are options, maybe anything of silver quality. It would also go a long way to offer more for credits, like character customization. Maybe they's need to add a sub counter for it so they can say people need to have at least 6 subbed months for feature x, 12 for feature y, etc. Just so people don't just sub for one time just to get a lot for credits. If you aren't subbed you can still use the features, you just use cartel coins instead of credits.
  8. Since my earlier post got drowned in senseless arguing that gets us nowhere I'll make a revised suggestion that won't even look at the past rewards. So i suggested a system that awards subscribers points each subscribed month, that part should be simple enough. But lets scrap adding the past rewards for the sake of discussion (they can still add those if they do this system but that's not this discussion). So they can add a page to collections so they don't need to do too much coding with new menus, and in there they add unlocks for whatever rewards they want to add for simply being a subscriber. Then the loyal subscribers can spend the points they get by choosing the unlocks they like. They just need to make certain there are always more things to get than people can get points for. So people don't get to a point where they have everything but rather always end with having to make a choice for themselves on how to spend the points.
  9. In my opinion looking at subscribed time and giving rewards based on that isn't perfect. So if you don't care for a 6 month reward you only get the next 6 months also required to get something you may also not care for and so on (6 months being an example). It should definitely not be consecutive as there are times when subscriptions are inactive for no reason, and you wouldn't know if such system would work right. I had a few times that my subscription status was lost while subscription time kept running (last time was within the last half year, but it fixed itself). Another was a few years back that left me needing to contact CS every month to get my CC and broke the reward for being subbed since soon after launch. So consecutive would be bad because of bugs. Better would be to give subscribers x points per month which they can spend on whatever rewards they like. Current style motivational offers can still exist, and maybe 3 or 6 months after those items are distributed they could also be acquired for these points for those that missed their chance. So people that remain subscribed get it first, while those that missed and want them can still get them. If such change takes place I would suggest doing the first year double points (ignore the time up to now) this allows newer people to get goodies too and possibly lure people in. Also add those specific items you have to get a specific shop game time card for and such. And an "upgrade to collector edition status", you know the one many people didn't get a chance to get because they had to work/school when the pre-orders started. Can cost a fair amount of points but giving access to a vendor (assuming that got any goods these days). And before I forget, spending such points could simply happen inside the collections, putting some of those mails new characters get in there with the items simply account unlocked can also help avoid inventory clutter (all new characters for loyal subscribers may have a whole bank tab full of junk from those mails).
  10. I still have 80 or so, for most of the things that need them I find it a waste to use them, and I know others that feel the same way. This helps indicate how rare/valuable they have become. Availability is practically zero, yes you can get them from old packs (I think, it depends if they adjusted loot tables), yes in theory you can get them from the slot machine decoration (odds are negligible however). So for most people the vendors are saying "Look at what you can't get (anymore).". That said I do think it's a good idea to remove them completely (or make them more available), but it should not be a simple removal. Firstly the value has to be acknowledged which frankly is at least 4.5 mil a piece. But regardless of that they should announce timely how they intent to dispose of the certificates so people can think about waiting it out or making last minute purchases with them. It's one of those remnants that older developers added but got neglected later on, so along with other clutter they end up leaving a big mess. They said a while ago they were removing all those different currencies, then added more. Instead they should have gotten rid of certificates and currencies like the Ziost ones, I think those are even more useless. Now we also have the Umbara ones which like the Ziost ones will just pile up more with nothing people will want to use them on after getting what they want. They should have stayed with reputation tokens, at least you could sell those when capping.
  11. Appearantly the whole train has 1 room. In order to remove a bugged decoration (may be because the holo effect) I had to clear the room... every last decoration on the entire train was removed, it's not even 1 room/expansion. It's the same reason why I haven't removed a bugged decoration in my Tatooine SH, I have no idea how many rooms get wiped. Don't even know if the mistagged tile in the DK SH was fixed yet.
  12. Indeed it is, 3/4 of the decorations in that flashpoint have that issue. Caller in the Dark has the same issue, the only holos that seem safe from that bug are the small tiled ones. Also there's a thread with collected decoration bugs. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9398714
  13. Slybex Holo Umbaran Spider Tank Holo Vixian Mauler Holo Disregarding the fact that they are holos (sadly can't call that a bug), all of these decorations cannot be picked up, or rather they don't allow you to select the tile they are placed on.
  14. I may know why this happens most of the time. The turrets have super stealth detection, so anyone going into the room before in stealth will mess it up. Completely unnecessary when it comes to game mechanics as far as I can tell, they have a "One shot organics" buff. Making them friendly will fix it. Another bug seems to be the security access datapad, whatever it was called. I tried making use of it, I suppose in solo mode it might work, maybe not. What it seems to do is deactivate the trap for the person with access upon using the trap. It definitely doesn't work for group members, and after leaving the trap and stepping back on it might still activate the hostile turret for the one with access? Hard to really test out. Also the sounds played made me believe a friendly turret was meant to be spawned, though that can have been someone else activating another trap.
  15. It may cost more than 60 data. They said it would cost an unmentioned amount and 5k credits. Access to the terminal costs 60 data and 10k credits. So that means it may cost up to 160 data and 15k credits. Or when you get to the terminal it's just 5k credits, but we don't know that.
  16. The consensus in my guild is "Meh" when it comes to holo decorations. I got all, but mostly just to get them. Unless you plan to use them in RP events to represent holo communications they are pretty pointless. But then, why would you get a holo of a tank or a giant creature unless you want to do some life-size engineering / bio-analysis RP. Still have that issue with my Caller in the Dark that I can't even pick up because you can't select the hook it's on. That is unless you place them just to show off what you got (Manaan looks designed for that, hooks are terrible there, so I fear the same will apply to the train).
  17. I wanted to see more of the "Cthulhu", well some of our guild call them that. Not the Slybex but the 6 legged one that only gets one encounter, no mount, no companion, not even a pet. The Gladiopod it's way better than the Slybex.
  18. See a lot of people saying RP instances won't work, and I have to say that with how things currently work they may be right. But at the same time merging everything but RP servers will not work either. I know there are many non-RPers on RP servers, this is not a problem as both groups can coexist but this is an important part to take into mind. Main reason non-RPers have given for going to a RP server is the friendly atmosphere. But what will happen when servers merge and leave RP severs with low population? First of all, the non-RPers may move for better queues which will leave RPers with even less players. Anyone that thinks at this point "But RPers don't care about queues." is wrong, being a RPer doesn't mean you have to only be a RPer. And that means the even more dying queues will send some of the RPers off to the more populated server. And yes, the RPers may very well RP there. Then you have the anti-RPers, which can basically be split into 2 types. There are those that seek out RPers, and those that just don't want to see RP and avoid them. For the last group RP instances will work, no argument there, the first group is a problem... That group is likely a problem for everyone regardless, because why do they go after RPers? Maybe because they are easy targets, but it likely doesn't matter who they can target as long as they can target someone. Remember how I mentioned the non-RPers that go to RP servers, it's to get away from people that would be the anti-RPers. To fight those people what is needed are good ignore/report functions. If there's an anti-RP report it could send someone a restriction to even go to a RP instance, after the report's evaluation. But if the ignore function was working better, a 100% ignore (meaning not only chat, but also emotes and even character visibility, also working cross faction with infinity list size) would help everyone deal with bad elements. Us RPers are not that special that we need our own server at all cost. RPers are the ones that need least game resources so may be the last to quit, giving in to bullies that easily is unbecoming. That said server merges aren't really needed, as long as there are cross server queues.
  19. What I would do would be to link all the servers together into one big megaserver. Of course things are not that easy, there are points to take into account or a lot of people would be upset. Why one server? That's a simple question, at current you can spend hours in the queue with no hope of popping content, and that's true for all content, in different degrees on different servers. And when things pop, especially with PvP & GSF it will be the same people leading to unbalanced matches that scare off people and cause even fewer pops. But there are issues like Latency, for this matchmaking can look at access points players use to connect to the servers. So if you queue for a GSF match for example it would try to make teams of EU players to match against EU players, match US east with US east, and west with west. This would make for more pops while limiting latency. That failing the matchmaking would form groups outside that parameter. But that puts RPers with non-RPers and PvEers with PvPers together I hear people think. That isn't an issue if instances are set up right. There already are PvE and PvP instances, and a PvPer may have times they don't feel like PvPing, as well a PvEer may feel in the mood to take the chance to run into PvP, so people would be able to set a preferred instance for the game to place them in. Same for RP, if you go to a RP flagged instance people can expect you to act in character, I would go as far as adding a RP ban option if anti-RPers go there to ruin it for others, they can then still play, just not in RP instances. That leaves language. For PvP & FPs/ops/etc it could be with a preference setting trying to match with the same language people. For chat it can be a little trickier, at least for RP unless there's an instance per language. For public channels it can be as simple as /1en /1de /1fr which lets you speak in a general chat for a specific language where the existing /1 looks at your preferred (same for /2 and /3). I would say all these channels exist independantly and the players can choose which channels they can see in chat. But allow someone who plays on english but knows german to have the german chat open and switch to it to re[ply to them in that language if they want to. May need some work, but I think going like this would intercept most issues and make the game feel more alive, that in turn may make people return that left because it got too dead.
  20. This list is missing at least one HUGE one. The "Caller in the Dark Holo" when placed on a large hook there's only one way to remove it (or 2 if it was a modified centerpiece hook). Reset all decorations in the room as you cannot select the hook it's placed on. So if it's a modified centerpiece you should still be able to reset the hook layout thingy and lose less decorating.
  21. Great to hear, just curious about something. When GSF was introduced some people were rewarded for being continues subscribers by starting out with a free gunship. Is that the same one everyone will start out with? If so will those that got that for all past and future characters something else instead? I do hope there will be more ships to play with.
  22. GSF has some issues for sure. Main problem remains the imbalance. It looks like it's designed to assume there are a lot of people in the queue at the same time, and balance wise it might work if there were. The matchmaking system since day one seems to do the following in listed order: Make balanced squadrons, meaning in each squadron everyone is about the same upgrade rank. Make teams of two or three groups, if possible all around the same upgrade rank. Match two teams, if possible of the same upgrade rank. Problem is it can usually do the first, hopefully NOT the second, and the last only really possible in cross faction matches, but even then unlikely. And if it does manage at point 2, point 3 will probably fail and the match is no fun (not even talking about the republic bomber/gunship walls, that's a different issue). A way that might improve that balance is if there were some redesigns. Upgrades are currently improvements, and only improvements. If the whole thing was more like the choices ar character leveling, with added downsides, it would be a whole new gearing of ships. Example: Pick an upgrade to increase range of your blasters, accuracy will drop however. Or Improve your shields at a cost for speed. That way the veterans can still be better, but a smaller gap in power and more of aiding one's play style without just vaporizing the opponents and make them abandon GSF altogether. Also doing that can make you just take the first 8/12 for each group and bypass matchmaking for quicker pops. Past few days there were no pops for me. I've also had times where I was repeatedly not getting a chance to join while seeing others pop left and right.
  23. Still have open tickets from 10 days ago which are left from hitting the report game mail spam. Just thought I'd give a poke here because this thread is not that old but this shows why I have trouble believing the message send. If you are serious about fighting them it would be good to filter tickets by type and have those dealt with at the highest priority. It's also not that these are characters made and deleted as there's currently one in there whose mails I have reported over a week ago and several times since and even yesterday, not yet today, but the day is still young.
  24. I don't know what server you're on, but on The Progenitor they are never gone. Now it does seem quieter, not silent by far, but give it a month and at least for a part it will be the same ones doing the spamming, the same ones that have been pretty much since it went with the free to play option. At this point I'm not going to be surprised if all these reports end up with a certain CS rep that I don't want touching my tickets, just not that one that seems to get 99% of the tickets. All the other reps have been able to read and in most cases help. Nothing against CS, just the one rotten egg that probably just deletes spammer reports if they are redirected to him.
  25. With every spammer I report, whether it's a chat spammer or mail spammer doesn't matter. Report spam, report harassment (at least I do a harassment report when I get 2/3 mails in a 24 hour period by the same bot, which is far too common without question), add to ignore list. I can make a new character 6 months later, there I see the exact same ones again, repeat and wait six months, new character, and AGAIN! - Six months being an example, it was probably half that, but it was multiple times with the same spammer, and in total definitely passing 2 spring cleanings. It's like they ban a few make these posts, and then only ban the active ones while they just go dormant for a few months. Either that or the bans are lifted after a few months. Which doesn't help because from what I can tell this is just a "Spring Image Cleaning", though I hope this year it's different. Now, no one would make a big deal of the spammers either, if only they knew no meant no. Sending the same spam a million times only makes people a million times less likely to buy. And people that want to buy will look for their sites anyway, and those people I can't pity when they get hacked. Sadly enough people keep buying for there to be a market, need to punish buyers hard too. And I reported people admitting/bragging about buying, and they didn't even get in trouble as far as I could tell. I also made a suggestion before, I may have attached it within a ticket, I may have left it within a thread like this, doesn't matter. What if the spammers are muted in a way that does not tell them they are? Let them be on the servers, let them spam and send mails, but for no one at all they actually arrive while letting the spammers think they should. Let them notice the chat others have like any player would, it would be suspicious otherwise. So those characters that are spamming people for years on end with a few month brakes can get a mute-ban, they'll still be on the servers, but they won't have to make other characters to think they spam. They can play a few characters and alternate which they use to spam with as they may already do, but once they are all muted they just take turns spamming unheard. And you can even turn them invisible to other players. That's not a solution to get rid of them as you say you can't, and that's understandable. But this may allow for improved management and player satisfaction. These spring cleanings as they seem to be to the populace are not working, unless they actively take place all year every year. And if you can manage them you need fewer people to deal with them making it even easier to manage them and leaving more resources to answer people's tickets. I was getting close again to report one for a suicide threat just to make you notice them, for several months actually, before you started this year's spring cleaning. I know I'm not supposed to, but the fact that I feel the urge to for long times does day they are out of control for VERY long consecutive times.
